For those of us who participated in the Vietnam War, there was a lesson to be learned. If you can not figure out what the winning scenario is, then don't do it !!

They decided that we would never invade North Vietnam very early in the War. That was a major mistake ! That War could have been over very quickly !! The Wars that we are fighting now have no real end in sight ! Once we got Iraq's leader, we should have left !! In Afghanistan, we are not going to find Osama while he is in hiding, we need to leave and let him come out of hiding and then get him (and his followers) !

Here's a news story for all you out there who forgot what happened last summer. Gas prices went up,up, up. Congress did nothing (to the point of the illustrious NAncy P shutting the lights off and cutting off the mics so she could get home for her "summer recess"). People were fed up and Bush went to the cameras and said he was lifting the moratorium on off shore drilling. Almost immediately the gas prices started dropping.

Now, we have a President who appeases and talks rather than being a man of his word who says what he means and means what he says. Obama tries his charm with these nut jobs we are getting oil from. Those guys repected Bush and knew he wasn't playing around. Obama - not so much, they will push him because ultimately, he will cave - and to the wrong prople and in the wrong way. 2012 is a L-O-N-G way away.

Obama was raised in a socialist bubble. He doesn't think anything works but what he believes. Even though history proves socialism does not work.

What's all the harping about? All you boomers here backslapping each other like its the country club you grew up living in will be dead and gone. This is not the world you grew up in. (1) 'Press 1 for English' is immediately banned. English is the official language; speak it or wait at the border until you can.

(2) We will immediately go into a two year isolationist posture to straighten out the country's attitude. NO imports, no exports. We will use the 'Wal-Mart 's policy, 'If we ain't got it, you don't need it.'

(3) When imports are allowed, there will be a 100% import tax on it.

(4) All retired military personnel will be required to man one of our many observation towers on the southern border (six month tour). They will be under strict orders not to fire on SOUTHBOUND aliens.

(5) Social security will immediately return to its original state.. If you didn't put nuttin in, you ain't gettin nuttin out. The president nor any other politician will be able to touch it.


(6) Welfare - Checks will be handed out on Fridays at the end of the 40 hour school week and the successful completion of urinalysis and a passing grade.

(7) Professional Athletes--Steroids. The FIRST time you check positive you're banned for life.

(8) Crime - We will adopt the Turkish method, the first time you steal, you lose your right hand. There is no more life sentences. If convicted of murder, you will be put to death by the same method you chose for your victim; gun, knife, strangulation, etc.

(9) One export will be allowed, Wheat. The world needs to eat. A bushel of wheat will be the exact price of a barrel of oil.

(10) All foreign aid using American taxpayer money will immediately cease, and the saved money will pay off the national debt and ultimately lower taxes. When disasters occur around the world, we'll ask the American people if they want to donate to a disaster fund, and each citizen can make the decision whether it's a worthy cause.

(11) The Pledge of Allegiance will be said every day at school and every day in Congress.

(12) The National Anthem will be played at all appropriate ceremonies, sporting events, outings, etc.

All of those are good except for one or two. To get over what we are doing to our nation we do need some tough decisions to turn it around. We all need to sacrifice some things so things can get better. Send the ACLU to Chavez down in Venzeula. We don't want them here. Matrialism is a disease and we have had many years to develop the habit of spend and spending, both government and its citizens. Bad habits are hard to break, so like the frog in warm water, it feels so good to spend, but then when the burner is turned up and we cook in our materialism and bad habits its hard to stop. We need a good firm president that, instead of spend, spend, spend, will say like a good parent, "You don't have the money, you can't have it. You have to save you money til you can buy it." But instead we have a president that perpetuates our bad habits and ignore the consequences that are sure to come.

As far as school for kids. A lot of people like me send our kids to private school while STILL paying property taxes that fund public schools. Why? Our public schools are now govt indoctrination centers that fail habitually and the govt usually decides the right answer is to throw more money at the problem.

I do, I do. Everytime I run out of sugar for my kool-aide, I see what's happening and it hurts. It's impossible to go anywhere or do anything that doesn't have a tax on it. The hyper inflation that's coming, is going to put me and my family back on the dole. I hated that, I hated where I lived, surrounded by people that thought that money and house was thiers.
