I'm no Rush Limbaugh fan, but I am sick and tired of liberals and Democrats saying whatever they think of at the moment, then blasting the hell out of anyone who gives it back to them. Whether or not they will ever admit it, if you indulge in this bevavior, you should be prepared to receive it back.

He wins every time liberals try to attack him. Obama did it, and Rush handed him his head on a platter. Same with Emanuel, Carville and Begala. They all said they wanted Rush out front and center. But when he challenged them to a debate, they all ran away and hid. None of them has uttered Limbaughs name in public since. Sykes just compounded their mistakes. Rush wins, liberals lose.

I agree with Skiddy. It is a proven fact that when a liberal/Democrat says "funny," "unflattering" or "demeaning" things about a conservative/Republican, it is no big deal and makes them all laugh. But let the conservative/Republican say ANYTHING (it doesn't even have to be against any one individual or group) and suddenly it's "gone too far" or "crossed the line." If the liberals want their "fair doctrine," they are going to have to take what they dish out. And if you don't like talk radio the solution is very simple - turn it off!

I have listened to Limbaugh and find his outright lying despicable. He doesn't have to be accountable to anyone in his business and can get away with it. His mental imbalance was exacerbated by his drug addiction and hasn't improved. My first negative opinion was cemented when on his show, he held up a Chelsea Clinton doll and put a gun to its head.

Actually, I'm all for Limbaugh staying as your 'spokesman'. Let's be frank, the guy's a moron, and who better to lead a bunch of moronic sheep, than Limbaugh. Basically, I use Limbaugh as a litmus test for the intelligence of the GoP. Right now, they're failing. But, as time passes, and people see exactly how bad he is for...well, everyone, and as his power base and constituency decline, my overall impression of the GoP will grow. Until that time, honestly, I see no purpose for anyone in the GoP to be a citizen of the US. You don't offer up alternatives, simply apply the same tired model of bashing anything that's not GoP created, and then expect the country to move in your favor...um...ok...what's our alternative to Obama's plan? I used to listen to Rush too. But I don't think he outright lies, as you state. He simple spins the data in a manner that suites his wishes. Really not much different than other conservative AND liberal media people.

I stopped listening because I found his objectivity lacking and therefore relavancy to me. Somewhere along the way he go too big for his own good. Very similar to politicians who stay in office too long.

As for accountability. Again you are wrong. Simple stop listening. Obviously millions of people either listen to him for the pure entertainment value or because they like what he says. If he slanders some one, I am fairly sure they would sue in a heartbeat, yet, to my knowledge, no one has done so (or at least not successfully).

There are several problems with the choices given on this survey, first of which is that none of them show compassion for the human condition. Secondly, it only allows for hypocrits to honestly answer the survey.

I will only focus on the first choice in the survey, because that resonates most deeply with the message that Wanda Sykes was trying to convey, and most of what is causing this furor. The other two choices for this survey hit more deeply at the social problems and perceptions of the everyday lives of Americans, and if anyone is interested I will expand on those too.

Most people who choose the first choice in the survey most likely believe that there are terrorists in this world (which I do too), and additionally may still only be willing to apply that label to those involved in attacking their way of life... for example, those that the U.S. has directly labeled as terrorists.

The root of the word "terrorist" is "terror", so my definition of terrorist is someone who uses FEAR, malice, and destruction to get what they philosophically are searching for and wish to push on others. So who else would consider what Rush says is conveyed through fear? I believe that if you feel the need for fight or flight inspired by someone's words, that is instilling fear which can lead to destruction. But that is something each of us must examine for ourselves before we can truly answer the question.

I myself am staunchly opposed to the use of violence and torture in any matter... unless you are mentally torturing yourself to understand and assist others in releasing from the torture that they inflict on themselves as well as others. So, yes, I don't like war, and I think finding peace through inflicting pain on others will never work. I have tortured myself with trying to understand and live with the perceptions of beauty that I see conveyed on TV and other media. Now I will find it for myself and express what I find with love and patience. Call me crazy and psychotic if you wish.

I'm cutting this post of my opinion short, and wish for others to poke holes in what I have written, because that is how I learn...

Hey, I'm all for comedy, and I love making fun of people. However, I think funny stops when people start including 9/11 terrorism and wishing people dead.

Rush said he hopes Obama fails, he never said he hopes Obama dies. The comments went too far, they were tasteless, even for a comedian like Sykes, and even the audience there didn't think they were all that funny, thus leaving Sykes to declare "I know you're laughing inside." Probably not, Wanda.

I was never a big Wanda Sykes fan...but now I am. She was absolutely funny. My husband has to be a wake at 4:30 in the morning. Its 12, and its taking everything I have not to wake him up to see it right now. She said so many things I had thought of before, for instance, how everyone is calling Obama the first black president, but if he fails the black ppl will be saying he is only half, or mulatto and it made me laugh. As far as I'm concerned, both groups are part of the real problem in this country and if they ate each other into extinction that would suit me just fine. That said, Rush has called more people terrorists than anyone else I can think of and has wished death on so many people that I can't believe there is even a discussion about this. I'm surprised there hasn't been more of this before. They represent big business at the expense of the common person and could care less what any of us thinks as long as their guaranteed pensions are safe, their raises are not compromised, and they can stay in office as long as they like. As soon as the notion of term limits or pay cuts comes up they pretend to be genuinely concerned about what the people want, but once election time is over they go back about their business comfortable in the incredibly short memory spans of the American people.

It is time for a change. It is time for us to have a serious dialogue about how to fix our broken, dying system. For someone who has said he is Christian, doesn't it phase him at all to have these types of references. One more note about the Muslim thing -- Look up taqqiya if you have any doubt that Muslims are called to lie, and manipulate people into thinking they are NOT Muslims if they feel it will help them in their Jihadist duties (BTW: being a jihadist doesn't always mean carrying a gun). I do know about “projection” but I don’t see the connection. I, also, have read about deflection and denial. For your information, don’t tell anyone, I’m a registered non-partisan. I don’t have a “favorite” nor do I follow any so-called party line, nor do I get my talking points from any “talking head”. Like Rush or Chris and all the rest. But, really one hundred days into office and your constant drumbeat that the President is some closet Muslim. Do you realize the minuscule percentage of people that truly believe that?

I used to be a dialysis nurse-kidney failure is one of the worse things to have-poisons circulating your body, going for dialysis 3,4 x a week to rid your body of those poisons, feeling like you are dying, than your body is cleaned out and the person's body is totally different, and then they wait, and the poisons build up again. They have to stay on a strict diet, limit their fluids. They are put on a transplant list. testing is done to see if anyone in their family is a transplant match and if they are, that person has to be willing to give up the kidney and also has to be healthy enough to give it up. (I knew someone that 'matched' his daughter, but he was beginning to show signs of high blood pressure, so he was not allowed to give his kidney. His daughter never got a kidney and she died of cardiac arrest). If no one in the family is a 'match' the patient has 2 other possibilities-1) some angel of a person who is a match decides to give a kidney to them or 2) the patient has to wait for a match to die. Most likely though the patient dies before getting the kidney. Wishing for ANYONE to get a terminal disease is sick and I agree with you, her wish is cruel. Not funny at all. I like the way he is represent me. I did not like the way Bush represented me. You seem to have an inability to understand that two people can look at the same set of facts and come to very different conclusions.

I am a level headed person with an objective point of view. I am a veteran, I worked all over our country and have met people from all over. I consider them all good Americans and don't expect that stupidity or faulty logic or hypnotism is responsible for their views.

It is natural for some people to to be more conservative. Upbringing, social insecurity, etc. make people that way. I think we need conservatives to point out things from our past that require preservation. I listen and don't pretend to have all of the answers. Much agree that many numbers and facts that are presented on the news are invented by the government to numb us from what is actually happening. Often the full story is not knowable until much later. Unemployment rate is not the number of people unemployed, but some other number related to claims for unemployment insurance. The total dead in the Iraq war, including civilians, was supressed. The news stories are aften planted by political operatives.

You say you are a vet and you say you have served our country in the DoD. Are you laughing at the horrors of war? I hate to say it but sometimes I think teaching is so underpaid, that it doesn't attract that many really good people.....you have those who are awesome, doing a labor of love, and then those who just SUCK!....and many of those who are really good migrate to the wealthier school districts to earn more....it's a shame.

I've know some amazing teachers, and some who should not be entrusted to work in factory farms.

Either way, it was comedy, and we all need to be able to laugh at ourselves...I'll just bet the teacher who was so offended is one of those nasties who lost, or never had, a sense of humor.

I attended both private and public school - my education in public school was by far superior than private! Teachers at public schools earn every bit of the money they are paid ... and they should be paid much more than they are! The teachers at the private schools I attended were ok, but when it came to science, math, history, english - public school was much better. Private school was good for penmenship, spelling and religion.

Retired now, but in '71 you had to go to a 4 yr. college to teach. Not so anymore. You can train as you teach, and many do. Master teachers, career teachers are few. Why? Because it costs a fortune to get your degree and then you make nothing. My career was different because, altho' we made no $$, we had 110% respect and support. The younger generation won't work for nothing, and so you have folks teaching who aren't, as we used to say, giving our lives to our students. If you have a degree you can teach now with a course or two while you teach. An open door for what you see these days. "You get what you pay for." And No Child Left Behind (no teacher left standing) forces school districts to tell you what you are going to teach, ruining a natural teacher's love for good lessons, creativity and lasting relationships with students. FYI: Huge teacher shortages are right around the corner.

Others have done more for less, i see no really homeless, poor teachers? What about the ones who are in there for their lives? The ones who insist on helping the elite and ignoring the others? Teachers, doctors, lawyers, politicians, all professionals will have and do have good and bad, what makes you think word teachers is beyond criticism? Only an egotistical self-obcessed person as you would think that up. How dare she? Why shouldn't she, what makes you any better than others? And while we are at it, why don't we all realize there are heroes in evey walk of life, and I doubt the teachers have it all.

Wanda Sykes did a great job. She's smart, she's aware, and she obviously hit a lot of raw nerves. Is everyone aware she is a comedian? Bagging on Rush for abusing pain pills is a typically open minded liberal thing to do. It's not like the man was sitting around toking a dube and getting high on his time off. The man was in chronic pain and felt he had no other way of relieving that pain. By getting in trouble and going through what he did with the courts turned out to actually be a blessing for him. They showed him and forced him to take different avenues to deal with his pain. They probably saved his life.

Unless it is something you experience or have seen others go through in a situation like this, you really can't judge. Hitler used drugs for recreation.
