There has been a 60 Minutes or 20/20 program 15-10 years ago that had a story of white students going to Black colleges. They had a similar experiences that Michelle and Ms Sotomeyer had. I doubt it is the fault of the school-Princeton.

I have liberal college professor democrat friends who are openly frustrated with the quality of education many students have -particularly those who graduate from poorer school districts.

Our founding fathers were very intent on limiting the authority of the centralized government, and thereby gave great powers to the states, for example, taxing authority. The only legal authority to tax its citizens is the state. All of the states abdicated that authority during the World Wars but if push came to shove and the wording of the Constitution upheld at the Court, the feds wouldn't be able to tax, if the state governments withdrew their permission. What is interesting is that nearly all the states have illegally taxed their citizens since turning over that authority to the feds by creating a second taxing authority.

I continue to be disappointed in all of Obama's judgments with respect to personnel. All are seriously flawed for the positions they hold. Is there anyone out there that truely believes that Taxing Timmy is the only one that could possibly run the treasury, so far I've not seen any stroke of economic genius that would support that decision. Then there is his running mate, never seen a more comic selection. It would be something that Broadway would make fun of for years, except he is only a heartbeat away from being President. His appointment of Hillary was purely political, a way of getting her out of the day to day. What was it in her background that made him think she was the best Secretary of State in the country? I've not seen anything that makes her stand out. There are the likes of Tom Daschle and the other high exposure failures that would take too much time and space to discuss here. That brings us to Sotomayor. With that track record, all should be concerned, yet he portrays her as an empathic judge, which is precisely what the Supreme Court does not need. If you place her qualifications in an unmarked envelope along with half a dozen others and make a selection based on best qualified would she even be considered?

With that said, I'd guess she is basically a good person, but not qualified for the position of Justice. She should be careful here as well, wondering what quid quo pro Obama will seek if she is confirmed. Will he tote her out during the elections to remind the Spanish speaking people that he did appoint her and that they should vote for him. The Chicago politician does nothing for free and there is always a price to be paid. She must make the decision if that price is worth her self respect in the long run.

I believe that she said something as concerns the right to bear arms that the amendment had to do with the federal government, but that individual states could make their own laws in relation to gun ownership. That is nothing new. Massachusetts, I believe, is one state that forbids or, at least, restricts gun ownership. I remember the debate over this issue suggesting that in New Hampshire, where you can buy and own a gun, has a much smaller gun-related crime rate as Massachusetts, where you cannot buy or own a gun.

Pragmatic to a Fault: It will be those poor dumb white men that are not as smart as a Hispanic woman because of her experiences that will vote her into the Supreme Court. So I'm not sure it will do any good to write to these patheticly dumb white men to vote against her and go against the president. They have been instructed how to vote along party lines. Thanks for the link. Everyone who wants to know what "good racism" as advocated by Sotomayor really is should watch it. It uses double-speak terms like "affirmative action", and it's working. Even those whites who support civil rights and participated in the movement in the sixties are called racist by this new crop of zealots. Treatment dished out by the new black panthers at the Philadelphia polling station to a former white civil rights worker is evidence.

Affirmative Action was that when we started racism against whites at an all time high level, even though companies and business had to hire equal numbers of people, it seems that the white got the shaft. I've seen affirmative action in action and I can tell you that sometimes the best person did not get the job. It is a hard thing when there are not enough jobs to go around and there never will be enough to go around. But I do not see where Affirmative Action helped to cure racism, it only was gasoline on the fire. One would think they would be pleased with getting jobs but it seems it has made things more volatile.

'Diversity' is a code word used by the left in this country. It's a mask for wealth redistribution. My children's textbooks used this word throughout their pages and always italicized it. Diversity eliminates the need for minorities to work, excel and take responsibility. They are victims, therefore, society must accomodate them. Free college, first dibs on jobs and promotions. I've seen it in government and the private sector. It is causing even more resentment and division. Even honest minorities see the inherent unfairness.

The Beev - you are correct in stating that Sotomayor is an angry woman - and she has a huge chip on her shoulder and is about to be handed one of the most powerful positions in this country. I find it appalling that a woman who serves on the board of La Raza can even remotely be considered for this position. La Raza's well publicised motto is: "For the Race Everything! Outside the Race, Nothing!" She is clearly a racist!

Beev - you speak words of truth. There is not only bitterness and anger on her part, but there is a great deal of hatred and jealousy of one race over the other. The white race has done much to make America great and have been guilty of their share of prejudices and racism, but in the last 40 years for the most part they have bent over backwards to help the minorities of this nation. And I think without much 'thank you' for their efforts. Especially the white male has put up with a lot of abuse. One does not make their race superior by being jealious or full of hate and dispise a race that seems to have it made when you do not. If you want good, you have to work for it. Not many people of any race get the best handed to them on a silver platter. Billions of dollars have been given that the minorities might get an education and many middle class white people do not get those privileges. Outside of the love of God dwelling within people there does not seem to be a love for one another. Obama has not united, he has made the divisions and the hatred even greater.

A word for Sotomayor is that she did work hard and she did take advantage of her opportunities and she seems to have been in the right places at the right time. She has no reason whatsoever to be angry or to carry bitterness. In doing that she takes away from the good things that she did. I am almost positive that all along her pathway she had some good white people in there cheering her on and giving her breaks as well as those of her own race. I do know that there are times that all races discriminate against each other. It is a competitive world out there and it is made sorrowful when the best man does not win so someone else can have the job just because he is not a minority. And that could most certainly work in the reverse that a minority might be looked over because they were not the right gender or color. Life isn't fair, all we are promised is a right to pursue happiness not that we are promised it.

Every time I hear the minority sob story about how they benefitted from Affirmative Action( Reverse Discrimination) I always wonder about the truly qualified people who didn't get into positions for which they were fully qualified. How many lives were ruined by this bogus program whose real intent was to use minoritites to keep the Scumocrats in power by buying votes with prefential treatment.
