Prepping for a run for president?

Sarah Palin's announcement that she's stepping down as Alaska's governor could be a sign that she's gearing up for a run at the presidency in 2012, Howard Fineman writes.

Forget it, she is going to learn to be the next "Rush" or Hannity. She is going to stick next to her family, and spit out hatred and propaganda under the disguise of an entertainer. Rush made about thirty-eight million last year. A run for the President's seat. Not. Most of the Neo-Con's stabbed her in the back. It is pay back time for her, and it pay's more to lie, than to tell the truth, as she know's the bottom line.

Do you know what a neo-con is? You actually may have to use the O.E.D. which is Oxford English Dictionary for this one. I do not have the new subscription for it yet.

Use dictionary.com and tell me that is what you meant..lol.

And, if Palin knows the bottom line, why is that so bad?

Hey! Teletubbies is on!!!!!!

The problem with Palin knowing the bottom line is that she is effectively quitting on the state of Alaska to cash in. The worst label in politics is "quitter". And her justification for not wanting to continue as a lame duck politician is just pathetic. What is she talking about? She has not even completed one term! She's a lightweight, now she'll be a very wealthy lightweight.

"Neoconservatives are less skeptical of government than other conservatives. They are less worried about reducing the size of government, less enthusiastic about tax cuts, more concerned about forging national crusades that can tap either the American public's patriotism or its desire for reform. You saw this in McCain with his campaign finance proposal and a little bit in his foreign policy" - Rich Lowry

So apply it where you think it fits...

Rev G., I don't need a dictionary to know what a Neo-Con is, just as I don't need a mirror to see what went up your nose.

Neo- Con's was an idea started with the Democrats. They wanted less government in the people's business. However, this is another idea "hijacked" by the slave master's of the likes of the Charles KRAUTHAMMER, his father etc. I am sure you are younger person, and are going on to the fourth-grade. In the year's of Reagan, they were desperate, and hijacked his Presidency. In the Clinton's year's, they tried to persuade Clinton to invade Iraq, Iran Saudi Arabia, etc. They finally got the first Bush to do it, which the first Bush distrusted them, and then they finally got "W" to do it, which, in truth, he was the last to convince, but eventually happened. All the letter's for these invasion's are on line.

Now you say that the President of the U.S.A. is spending this country into a frenzy? You my fourth-grade student are narrow minded shallow, small, and sanctimonious. You are nothing more than a little parrot. Can you chirp, small-minded, or look in the dictionary to what "demagoguery" means's? Further more, the only thing you don't know is the history you have not read, there-fore get your fourth grade ass off the couch and do a little reading.

It's a good question, since the word has become bastardized over the last decade or so. (And I agree with you, twoCspirt2).

As listed in Wikipedia: "...Jonathan Clarke, a senior fellow at the Carnegie Council for Ethics in International Affairs, proposed the following as the "main characteristics of neoconservatism":

  • a tendency to see the world in binary good/evil terms
  • low tolerance for diplomacy
  • readiness to use military force
  • emphasis on US unilateral action
  • disdain for multilateral organizations
  • focus on the Middle East

To which I would add the point: tendency to use religion to force one's own morality upon others.

I prefer the term American Taliban, since it seems most appropriate.

She may be running from something that would tarnish her even further. as Gov.

Here's her agenda following her Independence Day announcement with the screaming birds in the background.

But setting whatever that is aside, as Gov of Alaska, very little National exposure. With her impending book in 2010, do the book signing tour, sales, more money, that'll get her 'out there.'

Let's not forget her websites where you can donate money:

SarahPAC.com is the ONLY political action committee authorized by Sarah Palin.

Sarah Palin's Official PAC
Dedicated to building America's future, supporting fresh ideas and candidates who share our vision for reform and innovation.

Visit The Alaska Fund Trust at www.thealaskafundtrust.com, the official legal defense fund for Governor Sarah Palin and family.

She does have a bit of tainted history with taking the whole Palin clan, their clothing as official business during the GOP VP run. Paid it back after being investigated. She her own political machine. Impulsive, though.

Then a little run for the Senate. Then all those trips to the Capitol for Senate meetings, free trips as a Senator. Rub elbows with others in Congress, get some on the job training beyond Alaska as oil is so yesterday, National exposure, 2012 or 2016. More free entertainment.

Palin may be the dunce that the media has gone overboard to try to make her seem, but she had more experience than Obama and none of the terrorist associations. She made a fool of Biden, of course that's done personally by himself on a daily basis. In an unscripted, truely off the cuff, no teleprompters allowed debate she would expose the idiot and puppet that Obama is.

I don't know what her plans are but I do know that she, as well as about 100 million other actual citizens of the US, could do a much better job than the jackass now in office!

According to ASU, an honorary degree is based on a person's life achievements and body of work. Palin has more experience than Obama? Well she definitely could not be awarded an honorary degree from ASU or any other reputable institution for higher learning. She is the epitome of anti-intellectualism, a member of the Flat Earth Society, and incapable of structuring a sentence, also.

In this article, Fineman refers to THAT mainstream (the core of the core of the right wing). Goldwater, or any other retro ideology is too complimentary. I would add to the Republican core those who love Jerry Springer, reality TV, Howard Stern, and perhaps even American Idol as Palin supporters. There is a faction in our country who are lazy, shallow, and not too bright (many also are teabaggers). They will stand by crazies like Joe the Plumber, Michele Bachmann, and yes, Peyton-Place Palin. It is a very sad commentary.

The POTUS is the highest office in the land and the world. We should have very high standards for those who are elected to this position. Just because people can relate to something, doesn't mean it's a presidential qualification. Who gets a job by putting "soccer mom" on their resume? I can only hope the majority will continue to embrace true values, merit, intellect, capability, vision -- all the things someone like Palin lacks and will never posses. The RNC will need to be much better than Palin if they want to win an election.

In regard to "neocon," though it's off topic, this originally was a term associated with liberals. However, over time the term changed to right-wing application. Architects of the Bush Doctrine (listen up Palin), such as Wolfowitz and Perle, are who we now refer to as neocons--those who believe in unilateralism, preemptive strike, and illegal regime change or invasions under the guise of spreading democracy.

Obama use a word, like 'transparency' then they use it. It a big game of copy cat, if the Pres says it, then I'm gonna show that I am on his side, so I too believe in transparency.

Big mirroring someone else, there gestures, words, mannerisms, so you show them you are in agreement which will make them like you. Psychology stuff.

I, of course, do not know Palin's intentions, but I know she is one of very few politicians that will do what she thinks she needs to do to actually make a difference in other people's lives - not just her pocketbook. Is she still a "politician'? Sure - she has her quarks and faults, but weighing them against others she looks pretty good.

From wikipedia: Neoconservatism is a ; and, while generally supportive of free markets, they are willing to interfere for overriding social purposes.

This would make it sound like the current oligarchy has a greater good underlying their mission. They don't. They wish to expand the empire through violence and manipulation. They are the biggest business on the block and don't care about democracy or freedom. They only care about profits and power. Even if Sarah did want to do something for the American people, she would be able to due to the level of corruption ingrained into the establishment. The president is the sales person for all the BS the corporatocracy serves. Fellow American's get ready for the Amero, no borders, and further circumvention of your natural rights in the name of peace, freedom, and democracy.

For what reason do you smear Joe the Plumber? His is an absolutely straightforward standup guy.

Are you still upset that he asked Obama a question that Obama had not scripted for his fawning press, and Obama gave an honest socialist answer?

    I disagree with Howard Fineman.

Her flash has happened, it will never do any better than that.

While she is one of the more popular Republicans, that's only at 20% - there's a handful of Republican hopefuls that are nearly as popular.

I sense she might turn into a lobbiest, although, if she continues to use her "analogies" that she's already burned out, then ... .

Keep your eye on the "basket", Sarah, not the ball.

I'll give my definition of Neo-Con, and I've never looked the word up either.

I see Neo-Cons as ultra conservative, far right wingers. They usually claim to be die hard christians and think only christianity has a lock on being close to God. Most believe the founding fathers wanted the US to be a Christian led country(they are wrong on that one)

They think only they know what is best for our country and tend to be very closed-minded. They talk a lot of smack about everyone who isn't like themselves but never offer any real solutions to any problems.

They like to blame others for societies problems, without ever looking at themselves. They love to preach a "do as I say, not as I do" message. Most believe they have the right(God given?) to tell others how they must live and procreate.

Many tend to be hateful and spiteful(they don't act like followers of Jesus, though they almost all claim to be). Quite a few are bigots and chauvanistic.

Most are white and think that white makes right. They complain about immigrants(even though their family/ancestors were probably immigrants at one point). Many are homophobes(insecure with their own sexuality, some with hidden homosexual feelings? who knows).

They claim to be very patriotic, yet denounce others as anti-patriotic if they don't act gung ho or aggressive about lashing out at perceived "enemies of freedom or democracy".

I think they tend to be from small towns or have always lived in communties with others that look and act like themselves. They fear change and are distrustful of people with different backgrounds and from different cultures.

I'll add more as I think of it.

Unlike some govs she is putting her state first, two million for fighting the dummies who just want to bash her is not fair to her state. She is stepping out to let her state tend to its business. I dont see her as a loser she is smart and puts others before her self. If she can use this time to study and make herself more able to live up to what the left loonies think is more to their elitist line then that is fine but dont expect her to conform she is one of a kind and I think she has more common sence in her little finger than most Dems have in their whole body. Just because you have conservitive values doesnt mean that your kids are going to do everything right, they all make mistakes, and all you can do is support and help them do better, Id rather have her anytime than some comunity orginizer who doesnt have a friggen idea what he is doing.

It amazes me how shallow and politically stilted you phony Republican Right Wing hacks are. Of course neo-con means new conservative....it's just like any very temporary political aberation - not very long lasting.

Think for a minute, no matter what party you are or what philosophy you hold dear, can you really see Sarah as the President of our great country? Is this what you want for our future? The terrible meaning of her even running for President is that she will have her finger on the 'button' as soon as she was sworn in. Would or could she represent the People of our Democracy? Not on your life or the lives of your children.

A run for President? Now? You've got to be kidding. Oh wait, I can see it now ... 'Madame President, could you please tell us again why you're resigning?' Answer: 'Oh, you know ... it's kind of like ... well, I thought that ... well, you see, it's ... you know ... lame ducks and all ... oh wow, pretty flowers. Next question please ... It's nice to see the far right falling so hard, so fast. Next hopefully the far left will follow suit and we'll finally settle back in the middle where it belongs. The nice, slow, steady pendulum swing rather than this chaotic disaster of the past twelve years or so.

First of all, palin did bring up how close Russia is to Alaska, that you can see Russia from parts of Alaska and that when the Russians invade air space it's Alaska's air space. Problem is, she has absolutely nothing to do with it when and if they do. That is the US military that scrambles jets in case of encroachment of US air space. Not only that, it didn't even happen while she was in office. And the last time I checked, we are pretty friendly with Canada, the other foreign country she mentioned.

Secondly, if you think being mayor of Wasilla Alaska or even the governor of Alaska, with fewer people in the whole state than in the city of Chicago, is more experience than our current president has, than I have a bridge I would like to sell you. I lived for many years in Alaska, I lived in Wasilla. I know palin. She destroyed that small town before she left it to be governor and left the people in great debt. You all are complaining about the federal deficit, try shouldering the 22 million dollar debt that she left for the very small tax base of Wasilla. They will be paying through the nose for many years to come. I didn't recognize the beautiful little community I left the first time I went back after she took charge. What a shame.

Palin demonstrated her lack of knowledge about the affairs of this country, let alone world affairs. She doesn't have the knowledge or sense to be the leader of this country. She would be an absolute disaster. While I would love to see a woman president, it must be a smart, capable woman who has the ability to do a superb job, not some idiotic mouthpiece who doesn't have a clue. There is absolutely no comparison between her and President Obama. He is a very intelligent and highly educated thinker and she is "pit bull with lipstick?" Even if you don't like his politics, any intellegent thinking person can not possibly believe she is on the same level as he intellectually- and no- she is in no way above him, intellectually speaking.

I am happy for Alaska that she is resigning, however I know she isn't going away. I wish she would, but I won't hold my breath for it. I am amazed that someone counseled her that she would be better off resigning than finishing out her term. But she does have a habbit of quitting. I guess I shouldn't be too surprised.

I'm from Wasilla, Alaska and first of all I'd like to thank Palin for choosing to step down as governor on this independence day weekend effectively once again making everything about herself.

So thanks for abandoning us again Sarah, just like when you left us to run for president last year, or when you left to promote your book this year.

I'm so glad you finally put us on the map Sarah, Wasilla, Alaska is now burned into the brains of every American along with your name. If only it had boosted tourism. Maybe people are afraid of being shot or impregnated. (it's actually pretty likely)

Thanks for that super cool sports complex that's actually north of Wasilla, it was such a success we'll only be paying the millions worth of debt off with our ever rising taxes for the next 15 years.

Everyone in Alaska was really happy when you turned all that stimulus money down. Even though it was because you plan to run for president in 2012 (apocalypse anyone?). It totally made sense that even though you have a special needs child you specifically rejected money for the school district that would have greatly benefited our special ed program.

We totally get you Sarah you're one of us. You wear swimsuits and like to play with guns. You named all your children after super weird Alaska stuff, just like the rest of us. (Who doesn't know a kid named willow?)

You actually making it this far gives me hope that some day soon I'll be running for president too along with every other mother of 5 from good ol' Wasilla. So have a great 4th of July weekend Sarah we'll just be sitting here in limbo because you decided to jump ship(again).

P.S. What's with your accent? We really don't sound like that I swear.

Her performance on the national campaign trail (after the first scripted moments in St. Paul) was, for the most part, not only laughable, but also cringe-worthy. She was in over her head.

Thank you, MSNBC, for that 'unbiased', 'objective' analysis of Sarah Palin. You know, it's funny, I don't ever recall words like 'laughable', 'cringe-worthy', 'monument to confusion', 'cutesy-pie', 'shallow' and 'incomplete' used to describe the community organizer, now sitting in the Oval Office, when he was campaigning.

I find it curious that we never received a thourough 'analysis' of Barack Hussein Obama from MSNBC or any other mainstream media outlet throughout his entire campaign. Want proof?

Here's an exchange between Charlie Rose and Tom Brokaw on The Charlie Rose Show, less than a week before the election.

ROSE: I don't know what Barack Obama's worldview is.

        BROKAW: No, I don't, either.

ROSE: I don't know how he really sees where China is.

BROKAW: We don't know a lot about Barack Obama and the universe of his thinking about foreign policy.

ROSE: I don't really know. And do we know anything about the people who are advising him?

BROKAW: Yeah, it's an interesting question.

ROSE: He is principally known through his autobiography and through very aspirational (sic) speeches.

BROKAW: Two of them! I don't know what books he's read.

ROSE: What do we know about the heroes of Barack Obama?

BROKAW: There's a lot about him we don't know.

ROSE: I don't know what Barack Obama's worldview is.

        BROKAW: No, I don't, either.

ROSE: I don't know how he really sees where China is.

BROKAW: We don't know a lot about Barack Obama and the universe of his thinking about foreign policy.

Dump all your responsibilities for a Hottie in South America, admit to chasing after others while in office, refuse to resign as Governor (a job that is obviously WAY too stressful for you) and you're still in the FAST track to the Presidents office.

Resign ahead of time to clear out past mistakes and your called nutty and puzzled.

Sarah, you need to start sleeping around with any hot young thing crossing your path. You need to spend those dollars flying off to hot flings in other areas (not just family events). You need to refuse to step out of office despite that fact that you might be mentally incapable of signing any legitimate piece of legislation or debating for fair and just causes. That's what makes you a competent candidate for political office!

Spike, why the hell is having someone else define "neocon" such mission for you? You haven't even made one comment that references the article. You keep calling posters "fools" while being blind to the fact that you are doing a better job of living up to that definition. What the hell are you, some begrudged English major that's having a bad day and needs a place to vent?

Anyway, in regards to the actual article: whatever light Fineman tries to paint about this announcement, the truth is that when someone makes an announcement on a Friday--not to mention a Friday that precedes a long holiday weekend--they are trying to disappear before something hits the fan. This was out of the blue and she didn't even take questions.

A neoconservative is someone who believes in unilateral action by the United States, regardless of the best interests of our country, common sense or the opinions or desires of international organizations, the law or our allies. A neoconservative is someone who is ridiculously, needlessly and gratuitously belligerent and who believes that force and the use of military force is always the first and best solution to any problem. A neoconservative is someone perfectly willing to throw away trillions of dollars and thousands of lives chasing the unrealistic chimera of American world hegemony. A neoconservative is someone who does not really believe in our American form of constitutional government and prefers a "unitary executive," who is really some sort of monarch or dictator not bound by any laws. A neoconservative is also an authoritarian, who believes that the self-proclaimed business and societal elites always know best. A neoconservative is someone who believes that the end justifies the means and will lie, cheat and steal at will to attain his or her political objectives. Examples of neoconservatives include Irving Kristol, William Kristol, Norman Podhoretz, Charles Krauthammer, Richard Perle, Elliott Abrams, David Addington, Paul Wolfowitz and Douglas Feith, among many others. Their judgments about foreign and national security issues have been consistently wrong, starting back in the 70's, when they concocted "Team B," to second-guess the CIA's assessment of the strength of the Soviet Union, which was actually on the verge of bankruptcy and collapse, when Team B grandly announced otherwise. Despite their consistent record of misjudgments and failures, they keep getting jobs in our media and government. People who may not be true neoconservatives, but who have adopted their views include Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld and other prominent members of what was the Bush Administration. That should give you a start on the definition of a "neoconservative."

Yeah, covering politics gives Fineman alot of experiance into what people are thinking or are planning to do.

He is a typical blustery liberal who has all the answers. He is nothing more than a liberal cheerleader who sees no wrong in anything Democratic or liberal.

He continues to take potshots at anything a Republican or conservative does ( and they give him plenty of ammo, percieved or real), but yet when his liberal buddies(my friend Franken) do the same or worse, there's always the deflection printed to blame someone else(uaually the previous administration).

I'm surprised someone pays him to write his drivel.

I don't think so Chuck. I think this is the time for Palin to start her campaign. With what Obama is doing to this country; this could be the perfect time to start. Obama campaigned for 2 yrs. He is going to start hitting our wallets very hard and I think that she is going to be out there campaigning against him. Unemployment stats are up, taxes are coming down the road which will hurt all of us. I think she is going to be out there to help get the Dems out of Congress in 2010. And, for you dems; this woman can talk without a teleprompter! She is not quitting; I think she is going to be out there helping!

Really, Obummer had a job when he started campaigning. How many times did he vote present during those 2 years? I agree that if Sarah is running for President getting an early start might be good. Of course she won't have any of that ACORN money or votes from dead people, but we all can't be that lucky.

My honest opinion is that since Michael Steele is such a disappointment for the RNC that we're looking at the next RNC leader.

At least Palin has the right plan to leave the office in good hands so she can start a run for 2012. Unlike Obama who started running 120 days after he becamee a Senator. Hell no one knew that man's name until 2006. He was and still is a nobody!

The trashing of her and her family has already been done so the only ammo the Left would have had was to try and smear her if she did stay in office and run a campaign at the same time ( like no one has ever done that before, scandal scandal!)

McCain lost because of McCain, he is a progressive GOP and was no better than Obama in my book. The only reason why he got the number of votes he did was because of Palin.

Palin has a Conservative base not seen since Ronald Reagan and Obama is only helping to build it stronger with his socialist agenda

When Sanford "disappeared" there was all manner of comments here saying the libs were attacking him for nothing, that he really was hiking.   I'll be really surprised if another shoe doesn't drop soon in this Palin story.  But I'm willing to wait.

As to the hateful comments by some here about members of the other party (whichever), if we work really hard to hate each other enough we may yet succeed in making this country ungovernable.   Some will no doubt say that would be a good thing.

You liberals talk without even thinking! Where was Obama's resume....this idiot did not do a thing; community organizer; what a damn joke this coutry is becoming with him in there. She is much smarter than he is and since he has all of his college records sealed; you cannot even say how smart he really is. If you want a clue on how smart Obama is; how bout 57 states and maybe seeing Verterans in the audience on Memorial Day! Yes, he is so intelligent....need I give more examples of what a sham this guy is!

Neo-con goes back to 1980 when Reagan was elected by, literally, the "new conservatives". Example: auto workers, who normally would've voted democrat, switched after Carter's over-thought and anxiety ridden four years, and voted Republican.

After all, it was "morning in America", and the ad hit home with the former conservative-ish democrats. Or did he use that in '84?

30 years later the hyphened word has been misused to the point of confusion and meaninglessness.

Well my golly. She has a head line again. She is even almost replacing MJ. She did have her red high heels on though. Hard to walk in the grass with them on. She seemed to do well walking though.

Can't help but believe there will be something else. Maybe she was forced into this because of something has been found out, that she won't want to make public. Some malfeasance, that cannot be dismissed by the for hire Alaska personnel board.

For sure she won't be staying home being a Mommy full time.

None of the candidates, who were most all Senators, were doing their elected jobs adequately while they were running for the presidency or VP. Perhaps Saraha making a run for Senate would put her in the voters good graces since it appears to carry far more weight than being governor of a State. What ever her plans I hope the best for her. From what I have learned about her she should do well in any arena.

I fail to see how laughing at someone shows panic. It seems to me that "fearing Sarah Palin" is something some people say when they don't have anything else to say.

I personally wish she would start campaigning for President now. She's an excellent source of entertainment and I have zero fear she'd ever be elected.

As for her telling the truth.. have a look at her emails and how she tried to get John McCain's campaign people to lie by saying Tod Palin was in the AIP by "mistake".

LOL they wrote her back and pretty much put it to her that you don't belong to a group for 7 years by "mistake" and that they weren't going to lie for her.

These people were trying to get her and McCain elected but I am sure you'll say they "just didn't like her". Fact is they didn't want to put out a bold face lie when the truth was so publicly known.

                Email excerpts:

"Pls get in front of that ridiculous issue that's cropped up all day today -- two reporters, a protester's sign, and many shout-outs all claiming Todd's involvement in an anti-American political party," Palin wrote to Schmidt, Nicolle Wallace and Rick Davis. "It's bull, and I don't want to have to keep reacting to it ... Pls have statement given on this so it's put to bed." Schmidt fired back: "Ignore it. He was a member of the aip? My understanding is yes. That is part of their platform. Do not engage the protesters. If a reporter asks say it is ridiculous. Todd loves America."

But that wasn't enough for Palin. She dragged out the Big Lies -- secession isn't what the AIP's about, and anyway, Todd wasn't really a member.

"That's not part of their platform and he was only a 'member' bc independent alaskans too often check that 'Alaska Independent' box on voter registrations thinking it just means non partisan. He caught his error when changing our address and checked the right box. I still want it fixed."

"Secession," he wrote to Palin. "It is their entire reason for existence. A cursory examination of the website shows that the party exists for the purpose of seceding from the union. That is the stated goal on the front page of the web site. Our records indicate that todd was a member for seven years. If this is incorrect then we need to understand the discrepancy. The statement you are suggesting be released would be innaccurate. The innaccuracy would bring greater media attention to this matter and be a distraction. According to your staff there have been no media inquiries into this and you received no questions about it during your interviews. If you are asked about it you should smile and say many alaskans who love their country join the party because it speeks to a tradition of political independence. Todd loves his country.

"We will not put out a statement and inflame this and create a situation where john has to adress this."

I guess truth is all in who you ask. Just don't ask Palin. You see, it is things like this that will keep her from ever being elected. But I do hope she runs anyway. It will be a hoot!

Walked away from a position ...elected to...right? I guess it was OK for Hil Clinton (who ran for pres after telling everyone in NY last senatorial election that she was not going to run for pres, but serve as NY senator); Kathleen Sibelius;Eliot Spitzer (another dem, walked while being chased); Joe Biden (to run for VP); Barack Obama...served 2 of his 6 year senate term, then spent the next 2 years neglecting his job and running for pres.

Mr Allan Nichols, Very well said. As for pddoc, and all other liberals. You need to shut up immediately about the Sanford issue. While Clinton was porking his whores right in the White House, you all told us it was his personal life and none of our business. It's only obvious that Mrs Palin was under investigation. She is a republican, a real threat to the leftist liberal machine, and it is typical of the liberal smear tactics. They tried it on President Bush, and Dan Blabber lost his public life over it. And, I can assure you that quite a few folks will never watch Letterman again as well.

Palin's in full run for president mode - resigning allows her to dodge future situations that would expose her incompetence, or having to violate idiotic conservative "principles." She'll be in full campaing mode 24/7 - no longer constrained to minding the business of Alaska. God help the United States of America - Palin's running will provide us with a census of everyone with emotional and/or intellectual problems.

JB, please tell me you can come up with something slightly less distasteful in terms of analogies. I don't respond or react well to gutteral or juvenile slang and speech patterns.

You do realize that not only Democrats voted for President Obama, don't you? You do realize that a number of Independents voted for him, and numerous Republicans disgusted in their own party's prior 8 year debacle AND the 2008 candidates, jumped the fence to vote for President Obama, don't you? If you do not, then there may be some relative value in taking time to do a little research on the election and the vote breakdown. You can look at blue vs. red states and see where the Republicans lost in areas heretofore stamped as Republican strongholds. It's very interesting and learning is fun.

I would also suggest some remedial English and literature classes that don't involve Playboy, Hustler and other rag mags of that nature. Where else could you have come up with the perverse concept of "throwing feces"? Sounds like one of those quasi-hedonistic films that was filmed in someones garage or basement. "Feces" and "slurping it up". . .simply juvenile, sub-mental and absolutely unnecessary vulgarity. Increase your word power, son, and get out of the gutter your crawling around in and/or that you call home.

Truth is Alaska is not doing as well as she claimed and maybe dumping it is the way for her to go. Or there may be other reasons like she just paid back money she falsely claimed as travel expenses for her children and that may be impeachable unless she cut a deal. The GOP is run by Neo COns any way and they will choose their party's nominee.

Logdump: Truth is Alaska is not doing as well as she claimed and maybe dumping it is the way for her to go.

Really? Well even the people in Alaska that may or may not be unemployed are still getting that extra $1500 a month that she fought for (tax free). How's that stimulus package working for you that Obama is providing? Ha ha Yeah buddy howdy...Obama's just brilliant..isn't he? Ha, ha, ha

You don't attract the core GOP faithful by quitting your job with a simple, "dont feel like doing it anymore" attitude, then roam around and look for money from Christian tents.

There's no way she can run for President now. What is this journalist thinking. Obviously about his failed high school education, because we've never had a president have one political job, quit halfway through and then become president.

Name the last presidential candidate that quit halfway through their first term in a major office just to run for president? Anyone? Anyone? Oh, and quit without giving any reason why. That's the real insult added to injury here.

The journalist is simply confused because he's arrived at the only 'possible' logical conclusion without first analyzing whether the subject is behaving logically.

She's hiding something or just bailing from service, either is a permanent cap on her political career.

She resigned to run away from more tales to be told-more scandal most likely...
Do we really want a presidential candidate that can't even finish a Governors term ? A President that hunts and kills defenseless animals from a helicopter-that is her mentality-her kind of sportsmanship.  Her lies will fit well with the rest of her
Republican cronies-uhhhh maybe not-there are allot of repub's that do not like her
either. What about her outright lying about the "Bridge to no where", that is just the tip of an Alaskan Iceberg ?? She should become a CEO for an Oil or Gas company..........

Yes, it's much better to quit the job halfway through instead of getting the job and not showing up for the entire tenure like Obama did with his Senate career. How many times did he vote present again? Somebody want to throw those numbers out.

Also, since that moronic blogger and the news guy in Alaska kept filing charges against her that were ultimately dismissed, maybe she was tired of spending hundreds of thousands of dollars and time away from the family and job to defend herself.

Maybe because @!$%#s like Letterman, the scarface from SNL and everyone in the main stream media haven't ceased in tormenting her family for the last 8 months, she yelled uncle. I think maybe I would have.

I truly love the left who delight in other people's problems or downfalls and ridicule them for having values and failing in their quest to uphold them. Everyone is a sinner and all you can do is pick yourself up, dust yourself off and move on and hopefully do better next time.

I guess the logic of the left is, hey if you have no morals or ethics you most certainly can't be accused of any wrongdoing. Maybe that explains why none of the ethics violations commited by the slew of Democrats over the last couple of years aren't being investigated. No morals = no guilt. That's why the Democratic party is overflowing with losers, welfare cheats, elitists, morons, idiots, thieves, Barney Frank and Chris Dodd.

I don't think you should generalize about the left delighting in, and I quote, "people's problems or downfalls and ridicule them for having values and failing in their quest to uphold them". All parties engage in it and no one has a monopoly on mudslinging. And by the way you do pretty well mudslinging yourself suggesting the left has no morals or ethics. Who made you the moral barometer for the democrats? One thing the media does punish is hypocrites. Thats why Mark Sanford (the Republican God Fearing Governor of South Carolina) is being skewed on a daily basis.

And just for the record, not everyone is a sinner!

rrobeson, You ask for it, now you get it. Your specific question was, " Name the last presidential candidate that quit halfway through their first term in a major office just to run for president? Anyone? Anyone?" It was your idiot president, Obama. He was at the two year mark of his six year term as IL senator. Oh wait, you said "halfway", so I guess that makes me wrong again. Hillary did exactly the same thing after assuring the people of NY publicly while campaigning, that she would not run for president. Is that not the epitome of a lie?

I won't be surprised to see her take a shot a an upcoming vacancy for Alaska senator. That said, gimme a break--- can't MNBC write an aritcle about a conservative without the "cutsey" innuendos etc? And I don't care what readers think about what I think---her knowledge of foreign affairs etc is no less than that of Obama's when he was running for office. Difference being, the press was always fast to give Obama a pass, or play it off, (i.e., 57 states, etc etc) but dumped all over Palin over here gaffes. Politics suck, and partisans suck just as much. Sure glad I blew both parties off and prefer to peel the candidates like an onion, layer by layer, to find their true depth of character and knowledge...instead of taking the spoon-feedings of party hacks and media hacks from BOTH sides of the isle (that includes radio blow-hards and media gushers). Joe Sixpack... how many territories does the United States have? Only count the incorporated and inhabited ones. No need to count the unincorporated or uninhabited that are also territories.

Obama obviously knew this, as any president, or presidential candidate should know, and as many others also know.... learned it in elementry school. Some are no longer incorporated such as the Panama Canal, etc.

stormerF - Actually, a Harvard grad is someone who graduated from Harvard College. Obama is a Harvard Law School grad. And, as many posters on this site know, Obama's class at Harvard Law School was composed of 25% minority representation, and about 70% received degrees with honors. Editor of the Harvard Law Review was a position to which he was voted by his fellow students in a political contest.

Bartmann, Americans got over that delusion over the past eight years!. Notice, that the news is far duller than it was when Bush was President. This guy's running the country like a CEO. Things are slowly turning around. To everyone but the truest haters he has proven that he has a level and calm head. I trust him him to take his time to make the right decisions. Sarah Palin just signed the death certificate of the GOP.

You really have some nerve making a statement like that. On second though... stick your head back in the sand or crawl back under that rock you slithered out from under. The world certainly doesn't need any more ignorant citizens. We've got enough Republitards running around. Sarah Palin wouldn't know the TRUTH if it fell on her like a ton of bricks. She is the consumate pathological lying hypocrite. To show your "admiration" for such a disgrace to the human race and especially to women everywhere , doesn't speak much for your values or intelligence or lack thereof.

You have to pass cap and trade, the stimulus package, the takeover of private banking and industry, health care reform and the bail outs right now, before anyone can read them. Before anyone can think about it. Before anyone can notice that unemployment is going through the roof. Before anyone sees that our soldiers are returning to recession and unemployment. OB has to be following instructions - whoever that might be. Someone, a Socialist with lots of money, the inputer of tele-promptor information. I believe its all scripted folks and we're all going to be hurt from the tailspinning tactics of this Administration. All presented in a manner that sounds to be helpful to cover up the end results, the end of America as we know it. Don't forget, B. Clinton said that during his inauguration speech "for as long as America exists". What he meant by that is being implemented by this chump. Don't you see it? Now the Feds want to buy all of California parks, more government take over - in the form of bail out (helping the cause), phooey! There are other means.

Again I say are your @!$%#ting me? When Hillary Clinton has to tell you to grow a pair of balls with Iran you're a f'n idiot. He's running in every direction spinning his wheels and spending our future like there's no tomorrow. Luckily for him there won't be a tomorrow, so he won't be called on it someday. I'll take GW's 463 billion deficit over the CBO's numbers for Obama's this year at 1.75 trillion anyday. Most of GW's deficit came over prescription drugs for medicare.

And know we're going to screw up healthcare so he can get votes from those what seems to be a relatively low number of people who don't have it. Medicare has an unfunded liability of 36 gazillion dollars and you want the Government to run healthcare too, oh I'm sorry, it'd be run like a business - like - GM perhaps? Good call.

I found this article very lame and very politically sided.. I’m surprised it was allowed to be published.

I have the highest respect for Governor Palin. She’s a wise woman who wants to make a positive difference in America.

I think those who mock and write crude remarks about her (like this article), Are blind and don’t know the Truth…

I hope she runs for President …she will make a change for the better---Unlike the present president (who can’t even provide a birth certificate?)

If Obama provided a birth certificate and why are his team of lawyers having every inquiry into the "birth certificate" blocked in court? Wouldn't it be easier to just produce it and put and end to the speculation. I suspect that if his birth records were produced they would show that he was born in Kenya, like his paternal grandmother has said.

Being a quitter isn't making a positive difference in America- it's abandoning your post and responsibilities.

You would have to be out of your mind to think she would do well in an even higher government position when she can't even stick this one out.

No Mr. Obama did not provide a birth certificate. The birth certificate he displayed on his website, that supposedly was checked by factcheck.org was a fake. Also factcheck.org is funded by the Annenberg Challenge whom Mr. Obama worked for with the wonderful Bill Ayers. The State of Hawaii has said that there is a birth certificate on file in the state. However the State of Hawaii allows people who aren't born there and reside there file a birth certificate with the state, but not necessarily showing that they were born there. Also why would someone spend millions of dollars to avoid releasing things like, passports, college transcripts, birth certificates, medical records, etc.

The MSM jumped on the fact that McCain was born in Panama because he parents were stationed there, he is an natural born American Citizen, but no one in the MSM even breathed a word about Obama's citizenship status.

With regard to the birth announcement for an Hawaiian hospital, there was none. His half sister said he was born in one hospital, but then later said it was the other hospital in Hawaii. Apparently she didn't know where he was born.

No birth announcement? It was posted in two Hawaii newspapers back in 1961.

Rather than continue babbling internet stories just provide the hard evidence- that's all you need to do. Otherwise don't waste people's time.

                                StormerF,

It's people that blindly follow someone like Sarah Palin that scare me. And yes, the same can be said for Obama supporters as well. Democrat or Republican, it doesn't matter.

Anytime a person can be selectively blind to the short-comings of their chosen candidate, and only find the short-comings in their rivals, it sends a message to others that there is either a limited intellect, an extreme prejudice, or a blind allegiance to their chosen party.

I vote as an independent and I didn't vote for McCain, primarily because of Sarah Palin. I couldn't get past her lack of knowledge in current world events. That's what is so scary about Sarah Palin followers, to voters like myself. You paint those who didn't vote for McCain/Palin into your little box of "running scared liberals" instead of seeing the other side, that she may of seriously lacked the intellect to have been VP.

Some sheep still neeed schooling, instead of getting their "facts" from Rush and other right wing nuts.

If Obama was truly born outside the US or it's territories, the GOP and Hilary's campaign people would've used it to keep Obama from running for Pres. Do you really believe Obama's opponents didn't investigate him? If the GOP found nothing, and couldn't even invent something to disqualify him, then I highly doubt any 3rd party/rightwingers have any REAL evidence of anything wrong with Obama's election.

End of story. No need to keep believing the hype.

                                Susan,

How can you be so convinced that she would of *saved us* from bread lines? Our country is in such bad shape from wars, wall street fiasco's affecting everything from plummeting 401K's and home values, to the federal reserve, and to top it off our Congressmen selling us down the creek.

You can't possibly believe that this one woman could save us, do you?

I ask you this question not to be rude or condescending, but I'm actually curious to know what it is that makes you believe in her so much?

I can see her appeal as a no nonsense, straight from the hip talker. However do you balance that appeal with her lack of intellect? Like for example, her ridiculous notion to Katie Couric that being the Gov. of Alaska gives her foreign diplomacy experience because Putin flies into Alaska's air space.

I DONT KNOW WHY I EVEN ANSWER MORONS WHO ARE STILL ON THE BIRTH CERTIFICATE THING.

No Mr. Obama did not provide a birth certificate.

Of course he did. Wake up you do not receive your original birth records those are kept by the state. You are issued a certificate of live borth which is what he posted on his web site and which was later verified to be the actual document provided by the State of Hawaii. Also a quick web seach would easily find the birth announcement in the Hawaiian paper dated on the same day he was born.

The birth certificate he displayed on his website, that supposedly was checked by factcheck.org was a fake.

An outright lie as stated above it has been documented by his state of birth.

Also factcheck.org is funded by the Annenberg Challenge whom Mr. Obama worked for with the wonderful Bill Ayers.

The annenberg Challenge has nothing to do with factcheck. The annenberg Foundation does. The annenberg Challenge was a Chicago public school reform project from 1995 to 2001 that worked with half of Chicago's public schools and was funded by a $49.2 million, 2-to-1 matching challenge grant over five years from the Annenberg Foundation.

The Annenberg Foundation was founded by Walter Annenberg Richard Nixons Ambassador to Great Briton. While the foundation does work with schools and minority venues the people on the borad still support Conservative Republicans.

Obama was elected to the founding board of directors

Ayers was one of three people who wrote the winning proposal for the project.

LU - what are you claiming to be Obama's birth certificate...where is it on the web? And, so you don't waste time with sheep's wool pulled over your eyes, please don't quote that "certification of live birth," the green thing Obama's people produced to put off the masses. That is not a birth certificate, and it could be obtained by people not born in Hawaii.

People born around the same time have posted real birth certificates..they don't look like this. So - let us know.

And logdump...no, that document is not a birth certificate. Further, the posting in a paper near Honolulu is not from the main paper, nor is it, as you claim, posted on the day he was born, but rather a couple of weeks thereafter. So you are wrong.

Don't waste our time telling us how accurate the hack factcheck and other Obama operatives are. And stop making fun of people who want to know the truth...you, too, LU. Just show us the birth certificate.

                                  Fact Check.org is a non-partisan group.

When the case challenging Obama's birth certificate was thrown out of court 5 months ago I checked both the New York Post and Fox News to see what they would say.

Neither of them even covered the story.

Do you know why neither the New York Post nor Fox News covered the story?

Because it's embarrassing for them to have to admit that their followers are delusional wac jobs.

Part of me wants to believe that it's just political bullsh!t and no one could be this stupid.

But the reality is that there are a lot of people in this country that have mental problems and no ability to process information rationally.

The older I get the more I believe in forced sterilization.

For the good of the Country and the human race these people should not be allowed to reproduce.

That is not a birth certificate, and it could be obtained by people not born in Hawaii.

It's a short form certificate and is considered an official copy. Yes copies can be obtained by those not born in Hawaii, but it'll still say Barack Obama on it. It's not like they can get their own personalized certificate if they weren't born there.

Further, the posting in a paper near Honolulu is not from the main paper, nor is it, as you claim, posted on the day he was born, but rather a couple of weeks thereafter. So you are wrong.

Honestly- what difference does this make?

I am so shocked that anyone can think I use that term loosely the republicans need to fix their image, when the democrats have proven they are criminals.

First they ratchet this country into debt with fanny mae and freddie mac, Then they go on a spending spree of trillions of dollars while they are destroying the economy. If anyone needs to change it is not the republicans but the democrats.

If you truly believe that you have been propagandized into cliff jumping buffaloes. Shake it off and come back with a real brain.

Sarah took red ink in alaska and turned it blue she went on to give a refund to the people that was a surplus not a deficit for our future generations to pay back.

By "they" you must mean the government. The rules may have changed with Clinton, but it was George that pushed for even easier housing access in 2002 by practically eliminating down payments with the help of Fannie. Do a search for his HUD speech on June 18, 2002. If you think this mess was solely a Democratic thing then you're sadly mistaken.

Our economy has also been on a downslide for several years- it was even a topic of the 2004 electoral debates. The crisis has been looming for years and went ignored. How many times did George proclaim we were not heading toward a recession? Please. This is a government created problem- not a Democratic or Republican thing. There's plenty of blame to share on both sides.

Probably because no one thought we could ever end up with someone as intellectually challenged as W in the presidency and we did. So, you just never know what could happen and believe me, Sarah Palin as president is very scary.

Im sorry, but i have one thing to say. The idea of Palin even running for presidency only scares me. I have nothing against Women presidents, in any case. But sex or race should never be a problem for anyone.

The problem is she has the intillect of a 6 year old. While govenor of Alaska, she has personally assisted in the killings of millions of animals and responds to this as if its a everyday event.

As far as im Concerned, shes nothing more than a Gun toting Hillbilly, that has dreams of granger and the ability's of a Mole rat.

She needs to step down from any position, and taste a bit of reality. if her ideas of Succession is not any tell tale sign of stupidity, then only her attitude towards life period should be.

Disposing of clumps of non-viable cells does not compare to the cold-blooded MURDER of a living, breathing being for the "fun of it". Palin is a frigging WHACKJOB and it seems you are as well. Instead of telling other people what they can and cannot do w/their bodies when you haven't a damned CLUE what their situation is... try doing something CONSTRUCTIVE. Or is that NOT in the religirightwingtard agenda ? You can't even compare the two. It's apples and oranges. I'm so sick of ProLife hypocrites who don't put up their faux ProLife fight when people's sons and daughters are sent off to be slaughtered in vain , not for freedom but for commodities. Justify that. Killing is A OK when it suits YOUR agenda.

At least he's getting things DONE and making things BETTER. So big deal.. he's not doing it the way YOU want. WAHHH. If W didn't screw things up so badly and leave such a trail of devastation behind him, Obama wouldn't have to play devil's advocate.

                                          Gemini,

Name-calling doesn't work for me. Sorry.

If you want to refer to a baby inside a mother's womb as a clump of cells, you are extremely clueless when it comes to the development of a baby. And just for the sake of argument, even if it were only a clump of cells, as you reference it, that clump of cells eventually develops into an adult.

Last point, a mother does NOT have the right to decide whether or not her unborn child has the right to live. It has nothing to do with her body. In fact, hundreds of women die every year on the abortion room table. They would have lived had they delivered their babies. Abortion does not protect the mother from anything. Regardless of whether the baby was a "mistake" in the mother's eyes, that does not give her the right to end another person's life any more than I have the right to kill another person.

Go to the UNICEF website and read up on the facts of maternal deaths:

"Globally, more than half a million women die each year because of complications related to pregnancy and childbirth.."

stormerF....my mother told me a long time ago that "sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me." I've learned in my almost 70 years on this earth that, in a way, she was wrong, words do hurt (witness Palin.) That said, calling people who do not agree with you "bed wetters" reflects on your mentality more than theirs. Give it a break!

I can see that you grew up in a city where you have no idea how it is to live in the real world. There is such a thing as managing you wild life, if you love the little animals as you say then you should know it is much more humane to cull them or to get rid of the excess predators so the rest can have the freedom to live the way they are supposed to. If you dont understand anything other than the area where you live then just be quiet.

So you think Sarah ate the wolves she shot from a helicopter? The Creator put predators on Earth to thin the herd(humans included). Most hunters I know are in it for the "thrill of the kill". It's not like they were starving and had no other food sources. Hunters should either use a spear, knife or bow. Let's make it a little more fair for the animals. Then it can really be called a "sport".

Polar bears are becoming extinct, yet Palin doesn't think it's worthwhile to consider them endangered.

Maybe you also believe that humans co-existed with dinosaurs as well. Palin does too. LOL.

This proves how ill informed Americans really are. Alaska must shoot a certain number of wolfs every year to preserve the number of other species in Alaska. The media owns your brain and your brain is failing its mission.

However that is evident when you defend this administration that is clearly bringing this country into a depression.

Seriously? A run for president? After abandoning her role as leader of Alaska, in the middle of the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression, I would be surprised if she could get elected to the local PTA.

Bye-bye Sara. You were mildly entertaining there for awhile, but your 15 minutes are over. Now you can go back to being a hockey mom, which might be exactly the reason you chose to step down.

I have never cared for Palin. In many ways, I think Madonna or Mariah Carey have greater credentials and better developed intellects. But I salute Sarah on this Friday evening. She did something that Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, North Korea, and Honduras couldn't do ~ ~ ~ she knocked Michael Jackson off the lead story and front page. That may be her greatest legacy. I hope she can milk this through next Tuesday's memorial service. That would most likely endear her to more Americans than anything political she could do or has done.

One is Trailer trash and the other married a music producer and after years finally sang a song.Oh ya Madonna has cerdentials for someone who parades around in her underwear on stage...Funny how Sara Palin Scares all you bed wetters even when she is stepping down.

The comparison of Palin to Madonna was not meant to be literal.

Politics aside; I have noticed two major differences between the Far-Right and everyone else.

                                              1. Is that they have no comprehension skills.

                                              2. They have no sense of humor.

I am amazed by her, this is a time when the world is uninting I am just amazed at Mrs. Palin's behavior and not in a good way. I don't want to be robbed of my mourning by this woman who reaks of the essence of separatism.

We are asleep...rolling down a dark tunnel.. hitting rocks along the way. The rocks we hit don't awaken us, they only knock us into deeper unconsciousness. The tiny voices we hear trying to wake us we discount as pipe-DREAMS so we continue on our way, ignoring any pain from the rocks until finally, when the pain is too great to bear anymore...we finally awaken..to total devastation....

We need to do more..A LOT MORE PEOPLE, to get our body (Our Country) to WAKE THE F**K UP! ..Before it's too late...

Needs you are right these people are asleep ever since the democrats have taken over we have almost 10 percent unemployment our revenues are down over 35 precent and we have lost our first world statues.

The democrats answer is to counterfit our money and force our future generations to pay for it. Our future generations will have no needs they can eat dirt as far as the democrats are concerned.

In the horrifying economy they have created they want to cap and trade so everyone has to pay higher energy costs this will raise the cost of everything in this country and on top of that they want to raise the taxes of the so called rich who make our products that too will raise prices on everything and god knows how many more people will loose their jobs.

Yet they want to cling to the legs of this the most horrifying administration the USA has ever seen.

At least Palin knocked M.Jackson off the TV for awhile. Does Nbc and Letterman still think is was funny making a sick joke about her daughter - maybe that is one of the reasons she is leaving politics, she cares for her family more than she wants to hear sick jokes about her children. Even nbc finds it funny making fun of her children

Just reviewed the video of her announcement. The overriding reason she seems to give is that she can't be an effective governor if she's not running for reelection. I just don't see any logic in that. Her whole platform was that she didn't stand for politics as usual and here she is saying, if you're not out begging for reelection money, you can't be an effective leader. So what if the L Gov isn't going to run either, should he turn the office over to someone who's going to run in 2012? The whole idea of term limits was that the most effictive politician is supposed to be the one focused on his beliefs and not solely on his reelection. Apparently, she believes the opposite for herself and for Alaska.

Hmm, maybe she was hoping McCain felt the same way and would give her the presidency half-way through because he didn't want to run again!!!

                                                        Weird.

According to her "Lame Duck" theory George Bush should have left office in November of 2004. Hey, maybe she has a point.

Palin certainly could have held office for another year before announcing that she didn't want to seek re-election.

When you are spending 80 % of your time fight ing off the left loons that doesnt leave much time to do the business of the state. not to mention the fact that they are spending 2 mil of the state money to fight them, she did the best thing for her state, any fool can see that.

If Bush was able to hold off the "left loons" and still be a functional(ok. maybe not so functional) President, then Sarah could have finished her term.

Instead, she gave up. She just can't hack politics and the public scrutiny that goes with it.

If anyone brought this country DOWN it was these 3. These "loose cannons" practically destroyed this country for their own greed and vanity. So, Obama has to play hardball and you don't like it. You're a bunch of spoiled children who want to run free without rules and regulations or consequences to pay for your actions. Well NOW you're paying and it's all your fault so don't blame Obama's "tough love" approach of having to fix the broken government YOUR demagogues left behind in ruins . At least he's not sitting on his a$$, he's taking initiative and getting things done.

The Bush Admin and Senator McCain warned repeatedly about Fanny Mae and Freddy Mac and what thus became the 2008 financial crisis -- starting in 2002

Bush is actually a hero he tried to fix it the democrats fought tooth and nail to destroy our country and they are still working hard at destroying it.

However, when he chose the "Pig in Lipstick," as his running mate.....well, guess what happened here? Exactly as you said. He lost!! Mama didn't get our vote either. We just simply withdrew, and said piss on this!

If McCain had picked Romney instead of Palin I think that he would have won the election.

Palin was a bad political move.

McCain didn't need to cater to the far-right, they always vote along party lines.

Picking Palin lost the vote of Conservatives, Intellects, and Independents.

I think the majority of the conservatives are idiots. They don't care about the country. All they care about is wanting to call the shots. It's over for all the thieves and lairs. Wait and see, Palin's own party is coming out with the dirt on her, that 's why she's stepping down. The McCain party covered up her mess now they are going to leak information about the dumb airhead, Serve her right. The party is wasting away. Good bye you right-wing conservatives with your family values and ethics. Bull

When 2012 rolls around and you see how bad the deficit that Obama has put this country in hurts, you'll be considering her. Even the Democrats are worried about a deficit that wasn't even imagineable. That in its self is scary. I didn't vote for Obama but I believe his intentions are trying to do right. But when he bailed out these auto industries only for them to take the money and blow it and then file bankruptcy? What in the hell! That's like being on fire and given a bucket of water to put yourself out. Instead you run over to the water hose, and then drink the water in the bucket. I am really worried where we are headed.

We already have Rush Limbaugh and though he purposely distorts the truth, he actually does some work and some research before he does so. Sarah is not exactly known for being a quick study. I can't quite imagine her hosting a talk show of any kind where she had to respond to the news of the day.

Mary I gotta say you're actually the dolt. Did you even google that answer?

From Nome, Alaska mainland Russia is about 50 miles across the Bering Sea.

From the island of Little Diamead(Alaska) to the island of Big Diamead(Russia) the distance is actually less then 3 miles.

Geography rocks and I still don't agree with you :)
