So between us, thank you so much for saying exactly what I, and almost all of my friends, would have written. It's about time whites are heard by blacks. We've heard them, and then some. For the record, I am a white person but I side with Professor Gates because it was his own home. The Professor showed his ID proving it to be his house. I also agree with the above statement made by Empress-409341.

If it were me and even if the officer were white like me I still would not like it. Once ID was showed the officer should have backed down saying "forgive me sir I was only responding to a robbery complaint." It would have ended their if the officer did not have a problem with pride and his need for a power trip. My comment towards the officer would have been, Who do you think you are?, The Gestapo?! This is America not Nazi Germany!!" What happened to your home is your castle? Of course the Professor was angry and used nasty words towards the officer. I think the cop was way off base. Of course a person will get mad if you give them a hard time for being in their own home. Of course, none of us knows what really happened between Gates and Crowley, so it is difficult to judge, but I don't think that someone should be arrested for "disorderly conduct" in their own home. (OK, the officer asked him to step outside in order to arrest him. Big difference.) It also seems ridiculous to throw handcuffs on an old guy with a cane. On the other hand, I think Obama jumped in too quickly because he knows Gates personally. I don't know that this incident should have been elevated to a national debate, although it IS useful for us to think about how minorities are treated once in a while.

But if I flipped out because the officer was a different color than I was and I started berating him for just doing his job because I felt picked on then I wouldn't be surprised if he arrested me. He was arrested outside of his home because he thought he was better than the officer and he told him so in not such nice terms. He continued to berate the officer even after the officer was leaving. Where did this idea come from that your home is off limits to the police? I even read one person say, "They coaxed him out of his house so they could arrest him." Your house is not a sanctuary... You know nothing abut Massachusetts politics Cambridge is known as the Berkley of the East you couldn't find more liberal moonbats in one city. The mayor, the governor of are all democrats. This is a one party state run by the dems that why were broke just like California. It a blue state. Massachusets couldn' be more blue have you never heard the term Taxachusetts. The chances are Crowley is a democrat.

Nice try dal... Sgt. Crowley already admitted that he was a Democrat and voted for Obama... He did not say however that he would vote for him again. Obama has gone by the way... I am not sure what mistake you are talking about. Fact is she had a child with an African tribesman, and the most recent picture I have seen of her is with the most recent fling being a south east Asian. I am not saying that it is wrong I am making an assumption. If you are too blind to realize this does not take place in the world today, you are the one being silly.
