That said, it makes me leary that this president is set to tackle immigration "reform" next year. The "jobs" president is going to try to hand papers to 12 to 20 million of our uninvited "guests" at a time when there are 14 to 19 million unemployed American citizens.

The I-134 has to be supported by documentation from the persons bank, Federal Income Tax statements, and other documentation verifying your ability to support the person applying for the visa. And yes the INS verifies this information..... I have been there and have signed this form......
So have I. I just don't believe the government to be competent as a general thing. ;)

Why are we waiting so long to throw free health care in for her as well? Since she is lonely why not import the rest of the Obama clan to keep her company? There is plenty of room in the White House for her and them. This brings up an interesting point to me. President Obama publicly berated his grandmother as a "typical white person" when she was the one to step in the gap during a racially divisive era and take over the parenting of President Obama while his mother ran off to Asia. His white parents raised him and fed him and housed him and all he wants to talk about are the distant African relatives and the father that ignored him. I think he should be respectful of those who sacrificed for him and not those seeking favors.

We did that before. So I guess your saying every 10 years or so we should just give citizenship to all illegals who are in America at the time. Oh and then make 1040EZ in different languages. What about all of the immigrants that have come here legally and have done everything that was required of them to become citizens including learning english, American history, ours laws, etc. Then they must take a test and pass before they will be considered for citizenship. That would be an insult to these people, also who is going to pay for all the criminal checks that will need to be done, and the cost of making all the forms in other languages? The tax payers, me and you (if you work and pay taxes), this has become beyond ridiculous. I personally am very tired of working 50 to 60 hours a week to make a living and to pay taxes so many of you can sit at home and collect welfare checks and other assistance. I do believe in helping others as long as they are doing everything they can to help themselves. I realize there must be some kind of assistance for the physically and mentally disabled, but for the rest of you that receive a welfare check you should have to work to receive your check every month. You should have to work 40 hours a week volunteering anywhere it is needed. Examples hospitals, charity organizations, nursing homes, federal and state programs, etc. This will help you get job experience, training, something to place on your resume, and just a sense of accomplishment that you earned your check. Those of you that are capable of working but refuse as you are just LAZY and want free money should not only not receive your checks but should be investigated for fraud and the possibility of losing your children as you are only using them for the check and this is child neglect. Before you all start screaming and condemning me I did say that this only pertains to those who CAN WORK. By the way what part of illegal do some people not understand.

For you to obtain a visa into the USA, some US Citizen has to sign to sponsor you....... The US Citizen signs documents that accept the responsibility to provide financial support, if you can not. They also become liable for any state or Federal aid received or obtained by you........
WHO signed these sponsorship documents for BHO's aunt's US Visa???????? If BHO is her ONLY relative in the USA, who else would have been able to sign them??????

However, my notes to sort out the family connections when reading "Dreams from My Father" put Zeituni in the extended family, more of a shirttail relative. The President's grandmother was Grandpa's second wife; Zeituni's mother was Grandpa's third wife. This makes Zeituni a step-sister of the President's father and a step-aunt of the POTUS.
Zeituni probably decided that "dreams from my father" had served step-nephew well so she chose to come to this country; now she's crying for sympathy without presenting her own record of accomplishment while here. Her connection to Obama should not be a consideration in Zeituni's deportation hearing; she can join her own children who apparently are not seeking asylum. My sentiment is that Obama made a wise choice in marrying into an intact family; he deserves a family without the complications that result from multiple marriages.

If he has never been close to her then so be it, but from what I understand he was all about being close to her BEFORE being elected. He even mentioned her in some of his stump speeches. So now he suddenly washes his hands of her, kinda like he did Wright or anyone else who become disposable to him.
The cost to apply for a US Visa is $1365.00. Why can she not fill out the paperwork and pay the fee like everyone else instead of hiring a lawyer that "no one seems to pay far." There are people all over the United States that are getting their status the right way, not expecting the taxpayers to pay for it for them. Obuthead is behind this regardless what she says and she will be allowed to stay. Hell, just move into the White House with the rest of the extended family so at least you are all under one roof. That way taxpayer money only goes to one place each month!!!
Then you can add the cost of, complete physical w/x-ray, required vaccines, someone to sign the I-134 Affidavit of Support, finger prints, background check, and pay any back taxes & reimburse the government for ALL aid received prior.......
Then they can stay........... After they have served time in jail and paid any fines for breaking the existing Immigration Laws.....

BC45... I think that Legal Aid Foundation may be helping her. This is a national organization where lawyers donate time to help the indigent. For this lady to qualify for subsidized housing (HUD?) she undergoes rigorous examination of her income. If her only income is disability, she qualifies.
Reading all of the posts here upset me, and I live now in a state that is Democrat from the gitgo and people here consider me a cross-eyed conservative. Nonetheless, the posts of the "liberals" here scare me with their conservative approach.

It is a challenge to make a point without ruthlessness, cruelty, name-calling, disgust... but even a more difficult challenge is making a transition from the general (illegal aliens) to the specific (Obama's aunt). One poster said he though "all" illegal aliens may have a heart-rending story, and I think he is right in some instances ("all" could never be accurate :) ).
But many illegals are here because they were conned by American organizations to get them here for cheap labor. That, my friends, is slavery in the worst sense of the term. We could decimate the numbers of illegals if we clamped down on the slave-traders in our midst.
Obama's aunt doesn't fit that profile, though. I think Obama is a disgrace not to have supported her and shepherded her through the process, back when she first arrived. I don't like him.
