I know Desiree Rogers is a family friend, but she did not successfully do her job as the White House Social Secretary, and I am afraid she too should be suspended, just as the Secret Service Officers are.

I am just appalled every time I see the picture Mrs. Salahi took with the Vice President, as she could have easily stuck something sharp into his chest, without anyone noticing. Those who allowed this couple into the White House, and the person in charge of seeing that only those with invitations were at the event (Ms. Rogers), should all find themselves unemployed!

On another note, did anyone here about Mrs. Salahi claiming to be a former Redskin Cheerleader, and showing up for the reunion, only to be found out when she didn't know any of the cheers?

There is more to this couple than meets the eye, and I still suspect they were paid to do what they did!

1. The President Does Not control the Secret Service. While entertaining suggestions and requests, the Secret Service will ignore any President if s/he is endangering their own life

2. In all circumstances, the Secret Service controls access to the White House grounds

3. No One should have been allowed in without a) an invitation with proper ID or b) named on the finalized guest list with proper ID

4. The Salahis should be subpoenaed and forced to appear before congress

5. Since the Salahis claim they thought they had proper access, the person to whom they were electronically conversing, Michele Jones, should be subpoenaed to appear

6. Whether or not White House social secretary Desiree Rogers is subpoenaed is inconsequential. Having someone from the social office at each entrance or not, No Invitation, No Name on the List, No Entrance

7. It is not Obama that is suspending the uniformed officers of the Secret Service, it is the director of the Secret Service

8. Obama should ask White House social secretary Desiree Rogers to voluntarily attend the hearings and answer the questions pertaining to the investigation

9. People need to learn and understand numbers 1, 2, and 3 above.

I appreciate your comments, and wish more people would pay attention to them. However, I have planned a number of big and small events, although none as big as a White House Dinner. The one thing an event planner always remembers is that you do not get comfortable, until all those invited are comfortable, and that includes making sure that everyone who is supposed to be at the event gets there safely, and helping to keep out those that do not belong. It is because of this that I believe Desiree Rogers dropped the ball here, and that she should quietly step down from her post.

She should also voluntarily appear before Congress and answer any and all questions that are posed to her. Even though the President always has additional security around him, VP Biden obviously did not have enough security or perhaps it was enough common sence to not allow anyone save his wife or a head of state, to put their hands on him. This could have ended very badly, and I think that the Secret Service are not the only one's who need to step aside here.

I agree. The Social Secretary should complete her job before she decides to "play." Maybe she mistakenly thought she had handled the final details. Either way, I think she should answer any questions pertaining to the issue.

However, after seeing the cons in the Congress asking questions today in the same way as many of the uninformed here are "screaming," I would understand a reluctance. The best bet? Go and prove them wrong. Otherwise, she should show herself the door.

How would Pelosi move up? If something happens to the President, the Vice-President is sworn in and then nominates someone to fill his position. The Speaker of House is only is line if something happens to the President and Vice-President at the same time!

Adminstrative leave is different than losing your job. I have not heard if it was even without pay. Often pay continues. Be patient. When the smoke clears - if we will let it, everyone will forget about it (many have forgotten about much more serious and devastating 9/11), "the guys" will come off of adminstrative leave and be reassigned away from the WH and the world will keep turning.

Are you a moron??? You probably think the self-grandiose couple should be rewarded for their behavior. These two should be thrown in jail for six months and fined $100k to minimize the cost to the taxpayer.

Why would we fire the three (assuming they are really guilty of an oversight) people who just learned an incredibly valuable lesson. Put yourself in that role, imagine you just have been disciplined for breaking protocol, and you will probably respond one of two ways: 1) quit like many do today who are given negative feedback, or 2) become zealous for following protocol. If they go with option 2 you will probably have a keeper.

There is not a training course the SS could pay for that would teach them what they have just learned. These are not run of the mill people. I would suspect that they have already learned the lesson they need to learn.

Actually the person who had the weapon you are referring to was in an area that was legal for him to have it. I know scary right someone that close to the President with a weapon. You could bet on one thing though is he would have lifted the weapon in a hostile act towards the President a Sniper would have took care of it. Our laws and the Constitution gives we the people some latitude on what we can and can't do. People in Congress however they may lie, cheat, pit party against party, do not want any harm to come to our President. That is not the message we want sent around the world.
