I am by no means a fan, but I am a human being as is he. I lost five family members in a 14 month span, two of them children, I cannot wish ill to anyone. I wish you a full recovery Mr. Vice President, and thoughts to your family and other loved ones.

As for Bill Clinton - like him or not - at least he moved on, started the Clinton Foundation and focussed his efforts on initiatives that he was passionate about....global climate change, HIV/AIDS in the developing world, childhood obesity and economic opportunity in the United States, and economic development in Africa and Latin America, among others.

What is Dick Cheney passionate about? What has Dick Cheney done other than complain about anything and everything that the Obama administration has done in their first year?

Actually, I guess you could say that while he was VP, Cheney did science research in the form of experiments on human beings using torture like water-boarding. Didn't they torture innocent people at the Nazi death camps during WWII, also? (Dick would probably say it was justified.)

If there was ever an example of an individual that would be denied insurance coverage it would be Cheney.

Can you imagine what his rates would be if he was self insured or what he would do to small group premiums?

If there was ever an individual that needs to push for Health Reform it should be him. If he was not as rich as he is and on Socialized medicine we extend to all of Congress would he have received the treatment he has?

His health issues alone would have financially destroyed 95% of Americans self insured, probably over 50% of small businesses, and 100% of those on limited policies.

Though I disagree staunchly with Mr. Cheney's political ideologies, I certainly do not wish ill will and/or ill health on anyone, not even him. This man has had a heart and circulatory problem for a very long time, and I'm sure it has been difficult for him and his family. I wish Mr. Cheney better health in the future.

There are a number of people who have spoken of Dick Cheney's general disposition and actions as being a precursor or contributor to his ill health. I am inclined to agree with that assessment based on scientific fact. When a person lives a life of strife and speaks of strife day in and day out, it is all but assured that this type of emoting has a profound effect on the body.

There is an excellent book entitled "Deadly Emotions: Understand the Mind-Body-Spirit Connection That Can Heal or Destroy You" by Don Colbert, M.D. (available online although out of print) that speaks of the many ways our mindsets, emotions and behaviors related to those emotions and thoughts negatively affect our general well-being.

I would humbly suggest that everyone, believers and non-believers alike, read this book. There is one account regarding a heart transplant recipient that will raise the ire of some and hair on the back of the necks of others who understand the relationship between what we think, say and allow ourselves to embody in the way of feelings and actions.

Mr. Cheney, may God bless you and your family in this difficult time. May you find your way to a more enlightened, selfless, serving and sacrificial mind-set. Your life will not only improve, your health will improve.

Thus, they can't be expected to keep this going, and after a brief time, need to go back to their lives, their own careers, jobs, etc... and once again, are no different than any of the rest of the American citizens that had been represented.... they ARE just another American citizen. Another civic minded individual will campaign on what they believe, run, and be elected. The cycle continues.

What we have now is one massive, toxic, bloated cesspool. We all have our opinions, but this (what's been going on for decades) is NOT the ideal government I would create and respect.

Until this changes, I have to believe in the 'every cloud has a silver lining' sentiment; as long as the same faces (career welfare recipients) remain in Congress, and the same families, at least it saves all the tax payers money on their excessive 'retirement' $$ and bennies. My greatest sympathies to you. Yes, we, too lost our entire core family of young, friends and elders in the last 7 years. That is why I am so adamant about people on this board who mock and derail ex VP Richard Cheney. Think about the hardship on his family. We are all equals in life's traumas.

NJ John, you can't equate Cheney with Obama. Cheney is not a war criminal because he supported the war in Iraq, he's a war criminal because he promoted torture. I have news for your kind, that I for one believe that we as Americans stand for something better and of a higher moral standard than those who are against us, and Cheney took that stand away from us. We can no longer say that, and we now have to re-establish that moral stand, which is supremely difficult.

There are many policies that Obama has kept in place that I profoundly disagree with and feel that he is not doing enough to repair the damage done by the republicans during the Cheney-Bush administration.

As for the courts. If you try the terrorists in a military tribunal, you make them soldiers for a cause, and then logically candidates for heroism. If you try them in a civilian court, you try them as what they are, despicable criminals. I would rather they were viewed as criminals rather than as soldiers.

We can go on and on about Cheney. He is evil, has committed crimes against humanity, but still I would rather he be healthy and we could continue the arguments and he could have his day in court. However, Obama's justice department appears to be too chicken to do anything about it.

Just because you can't "see" any troops in control of oil wells doesn't mean that was how Cheney and several others profited from the war. Maybe their aim was to drive the price of oil up so they could fill their pockets at our expense which you can't deny did occur. Didn't gas prices go "through the roof" during the Bush administration? It had to translate to an incredible amount of money.

Also Cheney's association and affiliation with Haliburton and Brown and Root dates back to the 70's when the Shaw of Iran was in power and probably further back than that.

He just finally got his opportunity to profit again from War with the Twin Towers tragedy even though the battle should have been in Afghanistan.

Despite the tumultuous heaps of untrue criticism people can see and are very tired of "bi-partisanship" that is taking place....and it will back-fire on them as it it is starting to do now. Any more of this dis-respect and failure to honor the people of this country by not joining the President in taking care of the business at hand will not be tolerated.

John, the reason I give Obama & Team a lot of leeway is, rather than spend $1.3 and counting trillion abroad on programs that enrich foreign partners or corporations, Obama is spending his time, your money and his political capital on domestic programs meant to reinvigorate the middle class.
