Another fear mongering texas republican acting like a Tea Bagger who lost another attempt to overturn Roe v Wade and to get Obama to fail. He probably applauded when that doctor at the women's clinic was murdered.
YOU LOST, GOP. Get over it. Fear is over.
And of course ithis knuckle-dragging pig came from Texas. Please secede, Texas, then you can execute women carrying a rapists' baby along with the mentally ill and immigrants. What a state, Texas.
I am a Texas and I am as usual embarrassed for my state! It must be something in the water - unfortunately I am surrounded by theocratic leaning, un-Christian Christians, closet racists, regressive thinking troglodytes, anti intellectuals, reactionaries, secessionists, FOX watching idiots and all the usual mean spirited and ignorant yokels one could ever find in one place!
It wasn't his ego, he was simply speaking for God, as all Republicans do, just ask them. Being from Texas, it's a good thing he wasn't 'packing', then he'd likely be acting for God and in deep prayer in a jailhouse somewhere waiting for God to give him another chance to kill the infidel democrats.
Too bad he's not working even half as hard at helping children already born. But then, they can't vote or contribute to his election coffers can they!
I hate to say this but the GOP is starting to remind me of a bunch of Nazi's, maybe they should just shave their heads ......... Oop's I forgot I'm part German ....
And what a surprise. Over an hour after this has hit the wire, Faux News still says they are trying to identify the "apparent" Republican who might have uttered this.
I love it when LIARS like Fox are exposed. Oh, and the title of the article on FNC's website: "Stupak Called 'Baby Killer' on House Floor." Fair and balanced is looking a bit wobbly and unjudicious.
Despicable behavior. I guess Neugebauer won't be able to advise his children on parenting skills any more, unless it's "do what I say, and not what I do"... Oops, that won't work either.
Think of all of the children who might not have been conceived and therefore not aborted if the "right to life" crowd had focused on sex education and family planning instead of all of this feigned legislative protest..
Oops. That kind of common sense approach would have cut off their political fundraising machine.
They think they are saving unborn children, when they are really financing their re-election campaigns with them.
You people are sad, all of you. 1st Amendment only applies to you and your ilk? Playground name calling, huh? Maybe the idiots in DC really are representing their constituency.
Truth is that the whole process that brought this bill to vote last night, whether you like the bill or not, discredits the House.
It is probably time to put aside the divisive rhetoric and hate-filled statements before someone else is murdered by a "well meaning true believer".
In the current debate the opponents of a general health-care system for all have convinced themselves that any attempt to widen the pool of insured and to mitigate or remove inhumane treatment of insured clients is ultimately a plan to attack babies....even using the ultimate form of the six degrees of separation this is a stretch, however if this is the belief then any charitable contributions to assist in the welfare of the underclass would be considered a support system of abortion; any familial assistance to children of a certain age such as tuition support or other bill payment would be a bee line to the destruction of fetuses; and all state or federal initiatives or laws that serve the needy would be a murder rap.
Please put the commentary of division away, this is not the time or place to drive larger wedges into a country already widely divided.
"FOX watching idiots and all the usual mean spirited and ignorant yokels one could ever find in one place!"
Tank, reading your uplifting, stereotypical comments is like the pot calling the kettle black. It appears, to me after reading your inflammatory remarks, you have a rather large blind spot in your own eye. which needs to be addressed before addressing other people with the same issue.. All the muckraking, on both sides makes it impossible to work together for "the good of the people." "A soft answer turns away wrath" Sometimes I wonder what the agenda is for all the angry people, especially in politics...what is it that drives decent people to act indecent?
A non issue being made into another issue. This happens all the time and is only being made an issue as a distraction and to make Republicans look bad. Again refer back to all the times when Bush addressed Congress and was heckled. Never heard any appologies then. Never even saw it in the press that much. Besides, calling a duck, a duck is not wrong.
I do love that it brings the liberals out of the woodworks though. lol
I never fail to be amazed at how so many right to lifers care so much about the unborn, yet want to do so little for people once they are born! The fact that this bill makes it possible for babies that had been excluded from coverage due to pre-existing conditions to now have coverage, means absolutely nothing to these people. But does that really surprise anyone?
These are the same people that ignored the fact that the protesters they have coddled, stood outside and openly yelled racial epithets at Black Congressman. I for one could care less what the unscientific MSNBC poll showed. I know I am going to do my best to see to it that a few of the Right Wing Congressman from the State of Washington who's lips have remained buttoned up, spend as little time on the socialized health care that my tax dollars have been paying for, as is humanly possible! You see, they get to sit pretty knowing that Washington State already has a law in place that doesn't allow health insurance companies to pull that "pre-existing condition" bull crap, and apparently don't see any need for the millions of other American's to be afforded the same rights!
funny thought here....remember when Joe Wilson yelled "YOU LIE". all you carpetbaggers thought "for shame"...well guess what? ... ol' Joe was right, wasn't he. if ol' Joe was right, that makes you WRONG. you northern panhandlers just follow the anointed pied piper right over the cliff. we are doing just fine here in Texas and believe me, we need neither you or the anointed one anywere here south of the red river.
The well-to-do have always had and will always have the right to choose medically safe abortions. The only women who won't have the right to choose are the poor; many will have another child that they can't afford to care for. And of course, we all know how the Republicans love the poor and look out for their welfare. Wasn't that what the Bush bailout was for--to help the poor? If the Republicans could just repeal the minimum wage law, they could get the poor to work for ten cents an hour and try to support ten children. Then the Republicans can hold them up as examples of economic productivity.
The higher echelons of the religious far-right in this country have never truly wanted to end abortion. Or Teenage Pregnancy for that mater. What they want is for girls to get pregnant and married at 16, avoiding any higher education. An uneducated mother is more likely to remain faithful to their religious upbringing and spread it to the next generation. If a girl gets pregnant and the father splits, then she is an example for other young girls to be frightened of. If said young women decides to abort, pro-life types would want her to be punished, again providing a moral lesson to other young women.
If given a hypothetical choice between legal and rare abortions or outlawed but common abortions (I am not making claims here, just a hypothetical moral point) most of the "Christian Elite" would prefer to self-righteously punish the wicked, fornicating Jezebels than actually save fetuses.
Hows about we give women contraceptive education, a future and choices instead of turning their uterus's into crime scenes.
Luckily for me I don't have womb. Just a penis, which apparently gives me the right to pass judgment on what women do with their wombs.
remember when Joe Wilson yelled "YOU LIE". all you carpetbaggers thought "for shame"...well guess what? ... ol' Joe was right, wasn't he.
No he wasn't. In fact he was the liar. The bill expressly forbids illegal aliens from receiving any subsidies. He knew it when he yelled it. It was a show. A stupid one at that. If they are going to lie they could at least try to do it more effectively. It's harder to do now when the public has much more access to what is really going on in DC.
Anyone that wants can go and look up the bill and see what is what. Trouble is most people are too lazy to do it and would prefer to be spoonfed their information even if they are being fed a lie. Who cares about the truth when you can believe what you want right?
As the saying goes... you're entitled to your own opinion but not your own set of facts.
Earlier today, when everyone wanted to know who made the comment, I thought that it could easily be any republican from Texas or even democrat Chet Edwards. In Texas, independent thought or logical thought, is the same as treason. If people in Texas thought, Rick Perry would be in the history books. No one else would be in the book, but he would.
Texas and believe me, we need neither you or the anointed one anywere here south of the red river
Fine with me, please secede and stop bringing down the intelligence of the country. Then you can execute mothers carrying their rapists' baby, continue to execute the mentally ill and teach your children that we 'won' the Alamo and science is just a myth. Sheesh....Texans and their bloated sense of self worth.
I was just scrolling down to write the same thing. I don't ever recall Bush being heckled on the House floor. I guess some people think that all they have to do is say something for it to be true.
realist, your guess is dead on. Making totally false and outrageous statements for shock value, since they have absolutely no moral or ethical grounds to stand on, and repeating them ad nauseum is the bread and butter of the repugnants.
Stupak Talks About 'Proper Demeanor' to Megyn Kelly
By Betsy Rothstein on Mar 22, 2010 04:43 PM
Rep. Bart Stupak (D-Mich.) spoke with FNC's Megyn Kelly earlier today on hearing the phrase "Baby Killer" during his emotional floor speech Sunday night. Rep. Randy Neaugebauer, who said the phrase, claims he was referring to the Democratic Party and not personally to Stupak.
"We've seen in the last year just total instability at times when whether it's the president, myself or others are trying to speak or conduct themselves in a proper demeanor on the floor you always have this disrupted uncivilized behavior," Stupak told FNC today.
"We can disagree on these issues as we should and we should have a meaningful debate but personal attacks have no place on it."
"I don't engage in it I wish other members would not do the same."
Great post. I think the anti-abortion crowd is all about posturing. They had their chances under Bush to repeal Roe v. Wade and didn't even try to get the ball rolling. They run on a platform of lovin' those unwanted babies and just getting them here but turn the other way when the parents can't afford to feed and care for them - yelling "NO HANDOUTS! NO FREE RIDE!". Deep down, the anti-abortion group doesn't REALLY want abortion to be illegal because it will hit 'em where it hurts - in their wallets.
Funny how you libs who spent 8 years calling Bush & Cheney everything from "Hitler" to "murderer" have suddenly gotten all sensitive and refined when it comes to political dialogue. Can you say HYPOCRITE?
I will be the first to admit that I don't like this bill...
But what an effin' moronic thing for the representative to say. In November, we need to vote EVERY one of these fools out - I don't care what party they represent.
Sorry spider, but it didn't happen, and you know it! I am a Liberal who supposed the war effort, until it became clear there were no WMD, then got accused of hating the troops when I felt we should bring them home! Now that I want to see health care for as many US citizen's has humanly possible, I get told to move to Venezuela, or told that I am some sort of socialist! I have been had to see the POTUS presented as some sort of Nazi, just because he is pro healthcare reform! All the name calling is useless, and has no place in proper discourse. Of course if one does not have a proper argument to make, it is always easy to throw around nasty names to try and disuage those who do have a viable argument.
Please understand that no matter what you accuse us of saying to or about Bush, it in no way excuses the vile tone of the so-called Tea Party movement, and some of their organizers who continue to pretend to be deaf and blind to what their supports are saying. It makes the actual Libertarian Tea Party look horrendous, and it won't take long for them and other's to turn against you all!
spider, is it funny that bush/cheney are actually murderers and torturers? Is it funny that they ran the economy into the ground? Was it hilarious when you found out the basis for war in Iraq was fabricated? I bet you were in stitches when the market crashed and your hero w, left the american taxpayer to pay the banksters bill. I guess when they say that ignorance is bliss, this is what they refer to.
Scum like him are who stir up terrorist nut bags like Eric Rudolph who then go out and blow up innocent people! If the Republicans had any morals they would censure him! But we all know that won't happen! Moral less scum everyone of them!
I love the hypocritical piety of these right-wing yahoos - they claim to be 'pro-life', but yet they are perfectly happy with millions of people going without adaquate healthcare, and their supporters get on here and rant about how these 'people' are worthless, lazy, shiftless, and undeserving of a basic level of quality of life. Gotta control those women and their wombs, but who the heck cares about the babies after they are born... unless of course we want to start an unnecessary war and need raw fodder - oops, I mean patriotic recruits - to trick into going to the front lines...
Wonder how they'll defend their sick hypocrisy when they meet their maker?
To Tank - I have to agree with you about living in the uneducated hillbilly theocracy of Texas - not sure it's that much different from Iran, or at least it wouldn't be if it wasn't for federal laws... these looneys would give anything to go back to pre-Civil War days...
bsbfankaren - Yes it did happen, and it is still happening. Just scroll up or down after you click on the link and you can see all of the death wishes for Cheney when he had his recent heart attach.
I think some people here are confusing the issue. Yes, private citizens did call Bush and Cheney names...but to my knowledge a congressman did not yell those names from the house floor while one of them was speaking. Big difference.
note to #1.22: Texas ranks next to last in spending on mental health issues which, by the way, has nothing to do with environmental issues. After reading your take, I'm thinking that number needs to increase.
Texas is 1st in Hazardous Weather Fatalities(2007), and more importantly, 1st in Percentage of Population Not Covered by Health Insurance. Now that you have some real facts, go out and change the world.
Percentage of Population Not Covered by
Health Insurance
If the language is not directly in the 2300 pages of taxation and student loans they just passed then a provision has already been made to fund Planned parenthood indirectly, it was in the works three months ago just to help Stupak and the other libs ease their troubled minds and continue to rationalize this gibberish.
Notice how easily they libs can flip you off with their in-your-face sand bagging. YOUR STILL GOING TO PERFORM ABORTION WITH TAX MONEY!
ONTIME #1.52: "If the language is not directly in the 2300 pages of taxation and student loans they just passed then a provision has already been made to fund Planned parenthood indirectly."
In other words, "if the last 'fact' I mentioned has been shown to be a lie, then trust me, here's another one for you!"
Maybe Mr. Neugebauer (seriously, noo-gee-bow-er?) should ask himself how many babies died or were stillborn because of lack of medical care and/or insurance.
"Pro-life is not just about bringing a pregnancy to term; it is also about taking care of the ones who get here." (me, 2003)
I dont have any problem with him calling Stupack a baby killer thats what he is if he voted yes, the same as calling Obama a liar that illegals wont be covered by this bill he is a liar, the truth will always be the truth.
Shame on him! What are these republicans thinking? My second grader has better manners then him. What ever happened to being respectful? Especially in a government establishment. How can we expect our children to act responsibly when adults cannot act that way? Like the tea baggers calling names and spitting on others, kids would be kicked out of school for that type of behavior, SHAME on all of them!
RV in GB#1 bsbfankaren - Yes it did happen, and it is still happening. Just scroll up or down after you click on the link and you can see all of the death wishes for Cheney when he had his recent heart attach.
You probably didn't pay attention when it did.
Don't worry about being a democrat who supported the war, many democrats thought that there were WMD in Iraq - even before Bush took office!
Perhaps I missed it, what with all the horrendous things that were said about Ted Kennedy upon his death!
As for the WMD issue, that would be why UN inspectors were sent to Iraq to find them, and came back...after a few attempts...with nothing. They weren't there then, and they were not there when we send soldiers in, who have not been back and forth as much as four or more times if they choose to make the military a career. But this is besides the point at hand, so I will get back to that.
It was said that Liberals called Bush and Cheney "Hitler", and while I have heard them called a few things, "Hitler" does not happen to be one of them. However, I have heard it, seen it in print, and had been present when a few folks held up signs calling our current POTUS that name, or something similar.
And to be perfectly clear, never at any time have I said that Liberals didn't wish various ills be visited upon Dick Cheney, however I was not asked that.
Hope that clears it up for ya!
As an aside, I know this doesn't look right, but I can't seem to get it to work properly.
Everyone, and let me be clear on this, EVERYONE, who had had concerns about public funding of abortions after it was specifically written out as a concession, even though it wasn't in there in the first place, and espcially those who continue to have concerns even after Obama took the ridiculous, over-the-top measure of signing an executive order to ensure there was no public funding of abortion in the bill, is incredibly, INCREDIBLY dense, and shouldn't have had a say in this matter in the first place. If you're just going to shout out baseless accusations like this, like Glenn Beck does on a daily basis, they should be sued for slander. In fact, I think I may just start talking to a lawyer and get a class action suit going.
Texas has one of the worst education systems in the nation - nearly 40% drop out of high school. Their textbooks are evaluated by weight and support of the Confederacy rather than teaching actual relevant history.
The governor wants to secede from the US, but he begs for Federal money to protect its desert borders. He pleads for non-competitive Texas manufacturers to get Pentagon contract. He whines endlessly.
Texas crime rate is among the highest in the nation; likewise for air and water pollution.
And the list goes on an on.
Should we be surprised some Congressman from Texas was rude. Rude and arrogance are ingrained in Texas culture.
Hey, Arthur, my boy; Texas is SOLVENT. For those with small minds, that means that they aren't broke like the big lib states are. And where the hell did you get your crime statistics???? Why don't you tell us where you're from and how great things are going there?
At this moment, there is a bill promoted by "The Governor" - Rick Perry to give Valero Oil a tax break so they can further pollute the air in Houston. The TCEQ board is appointed by Perry and just going along with his marching orders. The taxes will be passed on to Harris County property owners. What a surprise!! ???
And what did you get for your very much unconfirmed commentary? Apparently besmirching someones character without any basis in fact...well...I guess that sort of thing is free of charge.
Wow! A right winged congressman who can follow the rules when it applies to them. It must be in the tea they drink. Hopefully he will have to apologize on the floor of Congress and will be censored for his actions. I am sure that is what they would have wanted if it were the other way around.
once again the main stream news media throws a piece of raw meat to the hate mongering left with a false headline. It is really hilarious watching you libs get played that easily. If you libs opened your ears and listened to the audio of the incident, you would hear the "It's a" before baby killer.
bsbfankaren - "Perhaps I missed it, what with all the horrendous things that were said about Ted Kennedy upon his death!"
- Please feel free to check my posts when Ted Kennedy died. You can also check my posts from when John Murtha died as well. I never claimed that it didn't go both ways. It does. You are the one who denied it. In fact, this statement from your post proves that you were too busy noticing all of the negative things about Ted Kennedy to notice the negative things being said about Dick Cheney.
Liberals never compared Bush to Hitler - really? How about this. Scroll about one quarter of the way down where you find A PICTURE OF BUSH WITH A HITLER MUSTACHE AND THE 'S' IN BUSH IS SHAPED LIKE A SWASTIKA. Admit it, you ignored it - FOR YEARS!
As for the weapons inspectors going into Iraq, you conveniently forgot that Saddam Hussein didn't allow them in for a LONG TIME. During that time even Bill Clinton claimed (after he bombed Iraq with the infamous "Monica Missles") that he wasn't sure that he hit all of Saddam Hussein's WMD's and that they could still be hidden.
For the record, I was and still am against the war in Iraq. I would like to see our soldiers home very soon. Obama promised to get them out and he hasn't.
Conservatives/Republicans have painted themselves into such a corner. Checkout this column by conservative Bush speechwriter and Heritage Foundation fellow, David Frum. Its fascinating.
Figures that clown would be from Texas. I really wish those rednecks would secede so we can be rid of their right wing fanatic asses. I find it amazing how CONservatives can have infinite money for war, death, destruction, killing, and for giving to israel, but not one cent to help a fellow American. CONservatives must hate America.
Why do they all want to pack heat? Why are they arming themselves to the teeth? Who are they planning to shoot? Their fellow Americans?
CONservatives scream about fiscal responsibility, where were they when their hero Dubya was paying for his war in Iraq with supplemental spending bills outside the budget? When they were being lead around by the nose by Cheney and the Neocons?
Why do the PNAC/AEI crowd like Wolfowitz, Perle, Kristol, Feith, Abrahms and other right wing slime seem to want to give israel a blank check?
Basically, CONservatives are just vile, nasty, hypocritical people.
Are you serious? That's all you can add to the debate? You are an example of the people in this country who can't see a topic for what it really is, or can't even define thier won POV pro or con. Like the moron who yelled out a terrible thing on the House floor, you are simply showing everyone there is still a large number of people in this country who just don't get it. How sad.
RV in GB#1 bsbfankaren - "Perhaps I missed it, what with all the horrendous things that were said about Ted Kennedy upon his death!" - Please feel free to check my posts when Ted Kennedy died. Hold on there. I never specifically said that you personally spoke ill of Ted Kennedy, any more than you can say that in any of my posts that I have wished Dick Cheney be in anything other than perfect health. We were not talking about our own personal posts, but rather whether or not GWB was referred to as "Hitler" as the current POTUS has been repeatedly.
Sorry, but you are going off in a totally different direction. While that is your right, please do not try and claim that I have said something about you or two you that I have not.
To be called a Baby Killer would be disgraceful to any one, and I'm sure that label hurt Rep. Stupak, but you must consider the source from which it came. Rep. Neugebauer is an old man that wants his name in the papers, what better way then to make a stupid outburst of insanity for the tv cameras. To quote Mr. T, I pity the fool, health care has really brought out the worst in people, but I don't think this is all about health care; This anger is much bigger, we have choices about our health care and a lot of us are already covered, the economy is bad and has been so for quite some time, These wars are costing us trillons but we have been there for quite a few years, and we will be there a while longer and we'll spend more money. All of those facts are not the answer, the answer is America has chosen to elect a half black man to the presidency. Although that is exceptible to a great number of us, the masses can not live with it, and it will manifest itself in all kinds of evil; The sad thing here is that the world is watching a once great nation resort to the acts of a third world country's terrorist thugs . We fight against all of this overseas, and we help to over throw their tyrant leaders; all of us, ex soldiers and present one know this to be true, but I never thought I'd see my proud country demoralize itself into acting like Third World Scum. This is not a proud day for America, we can disagree without violence. Hell, I disagreed with the Bush administion for years but I voted, I was not going to Washington and throw rocks, hell we tax payers will have to pay for those damn windows. I feel my money could be better spent on my own health insurance which I personally pay for, but I want all the congress and representatives to pay for theirs, their families, their trips and what ever flozie they have on the side. America need money so let everybody pay, then maybe we will get out of debt.
Rep. Randy Neugebauer said that his remark was a comment on the bill itself and not directed at the Michigan lawmaker.
I wonder how much legislation Rep. Neugebauer has tried to push forward for women who have these children to have a better life.
Does he support them getting childcare assistance for unwed teens to continue their education? Does he support free college tuition for them to get a better education? I know he will say they can get welfare, or give the child up for adoption. However, welfare isn't a good long term solution, and adoption doesn't always happen.
It's great to have children, but not all mothers and fathers are great parents. This is very true when the parent is very young and inexperience. Instead of yelling at abortion clinics about not having one, why not have better prevention. That's right, teach better birth control at schools and hand out condoms. Or better yet, volunteer to take care of those precious babies so the mom you force to have a child can get some education.
Also, if a young ( under 18) mother has a child, encourage her to finish school and get a degree to provide for her child. This will assure she will not be dependent for life on a system that is set up to fail her and her child.
Find me an actual "Pro-Abortion" person. I'm sure it's possible, but it's going to be a tough search. There's a reason the term is "Pro-Choice". I had a LOOOOOOOOOOOOONG discussion with a "Pro-Life" lady one day, and in the end, it turns out that she really wanted to say that she felt abortions were wrong, and that she'd never have one HERSELF. And do you know what that makes her? PRO-CHOICE. Because of the silly semantics that have entered this debate, I assure you, you can be against abortions AND be Pro-Choice.
It's amazing to me that people and the MSM are wasting time trying to identify who it was who yelled this stupid remark instead of publicizing the lack of transparency in writing this bill, the deals that had to be made in order to pass it, and the real cost of the bill - 10 years of taxes for 10 years of benefits instead of the 10 years of taxes for 6 years of benefits. That is what has brought "disgrace to the house".
No Robert just like woman aren't allowed free choice..you people try to take away Woman's Rights..then see how it feels to lose your freedom too. Women who terminate pregnancy's are not anymore of a "babykiller" than a state who practices corporal punishment...you see abortion is legal..and if pro choice Women were killers..and murderers as the people who think they have a right to tell us what to do with our bodies think, then we would be breaking the law..and abortion is NOT breaking the law..and it will never go away. Why? Because it is a Womans Choice and Right what to do with our bodies..so...Robert..Keep your laws off of our bodies. PRO-CHOICE AND PROUD OF IT.
And you know of any bill in the last two hundred years or so that didnt have "the lack of transparency in writing this bill, the deals that had to be made in order to pass it, and the real cost of the bill"? Please describe that bill, I want to see it. Or just go back to watching TV and reiterating everything you hear from some moron of a pundit like Glen Beck. Sheesh!
Yes Robert its called an abortion. Or Pregnancy termination. Men do not have to go thru the physical part of any pregnancy so they do not even have a clue what its like to carry a baby to full term. They are also 50% of the picture..yet you see so many dead beat dads..un supportive dads and non existant dads. What right do you think if you can answer this question do You or anyone else have to tell a woman she HAS to carry out a pregnancy? None. You have no more right to that then I have to tell a man he should be castrated for making a pregnancy. Abortion is not murder..because murder is illegal and Abortion is Legal..do you get it now? No one has the right to tell a woman she Has got to carry that baby..if so we may as well be just like the movie Rosemary's Baby..because she didn't have a choice either. One day politics will see that they don't have any business in Womens Reproductive Rights..and stick to what the also don't know..and thats how to run a country not someones life.
Robert: "...........I just hate murdering children, Or is there another name for it?"
Yes. Aborting a FETUS. Common law as well as the SCOTUS both clearly recognize the difference between a clump of cells and an infant who can draw his/her own breaths outside the womb.
Next, the Religious Wacks will be after oral contraception. After all, it doesn't prevent the fertilization of an egg, it just makes it impossible for the zygote to attach to the uterine wall.
But I doubt you can discern the difference. Oh, and your position on war? And capital punishment? If you support either of those, please just draw a big H on your forehead.
On one hand republicans want to get back THEIR "freedoms". On the other hand, they want to take away the "freedoms" of others. Hypocrites. But that is old news.
Laughaminute..yes so whats your point? We are also killing people everyday with second hand smoke, outrageous medical bills, stress, gangstyle murder(which they get a slap on the wrist for)yes you do terminate a pregnancy that way..but again..our choice not yours..so you don't have to feel any guilt because its not on your watch.
You can call it anything you want to ease your conscience but one thing you can't deny is that you have to KILL it to get rid of it.
You have to "kill" anything you have removed from your body, be it a fetus or a tumor. And despite your cut-and-dried self righteous proclamation, deciding WHEN something graduates from being cells growing within a woman's body to being a separate entity is a little more complicated. Oh, I forgot . . . some of you "geniuses" think stem cells are babies too.
I realize you are busy with the vine with almost 8000 entries, but Robert B's posts need to be deleted from this seed.
Robert B is posting flat out lies. His posts are not opinions. He is libelous and if you need some assistance in ferreting out libel, just send me an email.
A woman can do whatever she wants. She can keep the baby or choose not to. It's her choice. I think that every pro-lifer should have to take some financial responsibilty for the children they want to be born. Maybe adopt one or two. Raise and support them. Take the high road and do something! Then you have earned the right to decide for someone else.
I never fail to be amazed at how so many right to lifers care so much about the unborn, yet want to do so little for people once they are born!
It never ceases to amaze me the pro-lifers who attack the right on the basis of us being anti -abortion and opposing this health care bill as wanting to kill Americans. The amount of hypocracy within these attacks is almost laughable. You all want to attack Republicans for opposing a bill that we see as too costly for this country and portay us as murderers but then have no problem condoning the murder of millions of babies each year!
portay us as murderers but then have no problem condoning the murder of millions of babies each year!
STLmike..abortion is not murder..get it straight...murder is illegal..abortion is a RIGHT. Oh and Fyi..I am a Republican..not all republicans are anti-choice.
Disgrace to the house? No not hardly. I love what they did and so do 30 million other Americans who had no insurance. A lousy 4% tax on rich people to help people get insurance? Sounds fair to me. They get so many tax breaks they can probably deduct it.
We all know this is not about abortion but a rallying call to the religious right to come out and help. This bill that passed was the Senate Bill with no additions or subtractions. The Senate had the same problem with holdouts for stronger language that made sure abortion was not covered by the feds with this bill and they got that language in the bill.
This is in its entirety a smokescreen pure and simple.
Poco: The use of slurs immediately renders your statement useless, but ... yes, we pro-choicers can handle the truth. Too bad for you that calling us "baby killers" is not the "truth." What it IS, is outrageous, inflammatory hyperbole. And religious hysteria. First, abortion is LEGAL. Murder (which is what you mean when you use "killer") has a legal definition, and therefore, by definition, abortion can NOT be murder. Second, it is not a baby UNTIL IT IS BORN. Until then, it is called a fetus, and is essentially a parasite, to put it bluntly. It has NO legal rights, as per SCOTUS. Stop trying to force YOUR religious convictions on the rest of us. Freedom of religion, freedom of CHOICE.
“I think people have a right to make a fool out of themselves every once in a while without causing Armageddon,” he said.
They also have a right to be cowardly and not own up to it. How brave to stand up for something and then hide your face.
A temper tantrum is news. Apparently the right is suffering from a lot of them these days. I think it is worth knowing who is mature enough to represent me and who isn't.
Yep just saw that they updated it. Of course he says he didn't say Baby Killer.. he said It's a baby killer. Though everyone near him heard baby killer or heard all of it but neglected to correct it. I guess he felt the need to mumble half of that and yell the rest. Tourettes anyone?
I mean really. Are they that angry and out of control that they can't control themselves?! Anybody calling this man a hero is disillusioned and just plain stupid. How could you get behind behavior like this and consider this man anything other than a sore loser with no respect for himself or his peers. He should be fined!
It just proves once again who the immature "children" are in this whole process. To make it worse, the perpetrator won't even own up to it. So much for the right wing BS rhetoric about people taking reponsibility for their actions!
A non issue being made into another issue. This happens all the time and is only being made an issue as a distraction and to make Republicans look bad.
It seems that the Republicans have an uncanny ability to make them selves look bad. Like when Wilson shouted "you lie" during Obama's address to congress. Or when Sarah Palin said "they will create death Panels", Obama's a secret muslim. Or the Birther movement saying Obama's not a natural born citizen. I found a list of things that the GOP has screwed up on or you can count on the Republican leadership to screw up:
Evil Republicans, Or Stupid Republicans?
Current vote is in favor of "stupid." Please go here to see the prank "USA Patriot Pledge" that 237 people actually signed and mailed in. (Sample pledge: "I commit my children to pay for the wars America is fighting.")

Menckin HL" Not all conservatives are stupid, but all stupid people are conservative."
Its as entertaining as hell when one of these good old boys says something stupid during an event or speech.
I agree....the party of NO has NO guts...if you were bold enough to say it then be bold enough to own it...typical second grade Bull....what's next? holding your breath? Child
Damn right we are the party of NO. Stop saying that as if it is suppose to be an insult. It's actually a compliment, @$$hole.
The American People said NO to the Stimulus. The American People said NO to Obamacare. The American People said NO to Cap & TAX. And the American People will say NO to Amnesty.
At this point, the majority in this country prefers the Party of NO over the Party of Ram It Down Their Throats.
And the American people said NO at the polls......and sure the people said NO to the stimulus...are you an idiot? go check the local papers and see your NO god Eric Cantor handing out an oversized check from the ...wait for it...Stimulus package...it is a shame that you people of the party of NO have NO brains.....and as discused before NO Balls.....
The American people also said no to the Iraq war and no to the bank bailout and wall street bailout and that damn democrat Bush still went ahead and did it. It's always those democratic presidents that spend spend spend. What? Bush wasn't a democrat? How can that be?
Tim you live in Seattle where the homeless own the street and cops are shot on a bi-weekly basis. The streets are full of white teenager beggars with filthy cornrow hair and expensive jackets and backpacks. You live next to Canada for God's sake. What makes you think you have anything at all to say to the world? Your statement above is really dimwitted because as I, you, and the other readers know the Rep. party has all the things you listed above. You may not like them, but they do have them. Please god go buy an Obama tee shirt or something you are really obnoxious.
The Congress has rules that are supposed to be followed. It's obvious that tradition and honor toward both a fellow congressman or to the president has been abandoned. It's a shame this particular crop of legislators are dumbing down the civility of our public discourse.
navynuke - naive of you to think for one minute that Republicans didn't do the same thing when they were in power. Get real and get off your sanctimonious high horse.
The American People said NO to the Stimulus. The American People said NO to Obamacare. The American People said NO to Cap & TAX. And the American People will say NO to Amnesty.
And the American voter will say NO to voting GOP; NO Ideas, NO policy, NO Solutions, no leadership...NO votes!
Jeez here is the same tool (big Tim in Seattle) making the same comment as in the previous thread. God Tim do your parents know you skipped school today?
Biden apparently is now in the T-Shirt business from his little open mic blurp - and endorsed by the DNC ... now THATS a f****** big deal ... all together class - "what did the vice president say .... for which he got a standing ovation ?" It's a f****** big deal all right ( f***** being the opperative word here) for years to come ....
Stupak laid waste to the lie that there is such a thing as a pro-life democrat. Democrats as a whole are no more opposed to abortion than they were opposed to slavery and segregation.
Immutable Truths About Liberals #1. Always expect the worst from a liberal and you will never be surprised.
Stupak either believes that the executive order from the most pro-abortion president ever elected changes the Senate bill he claimed to oppose -- which means he's a moron, OR he was playing games all along -- which makes him just another lying democrat.
I think you meant most "pro-choice" president. Last I checked, he wasn't lining up women at the abortion clinics. Then again, with you nut cases carrying guns to avenge the rights of a clump of cells...
Hey! I just had to point this out, I watched Fox News last night during the vote and toggled back and forth between all the news channels in order to gauge how leaning they were, as I usually stick to print news in order to relatively avoid spin induced vomiting. I noticed at the bottom of Fox News on the ticker that they used the term pro-abortion to describe our president.
This I believe is a complete misnomer, no self respecting pro choice person has ever found abortion to be a thing of rainbows and puppy dogs. Its lovely how we use language to subtly get our agenda across, on both sides. Don't believe the hype!
If you need an education on this type of word vomit check out George Carlin (RIP) the man was literally a genius in analyzing the way that we use words to our advantage.
Here's a clip a George arguing the finer points of pro lifers only loving the unborn and well F the rest of us.
If the guy who yelled it out was so brave and such a great patriot, why doesn't he stand up and take credit for his words? Be man enough to go on camera before this nation and utter those words again so the entire country can see who he is. He is a coward, to hide in a room with 800 people in it and shout out his hateful venom. At least the guy who threw the shoes at Bush stood up and was not afraid to be seen.
I do not see what the issue about federal funding for abortions is so crucial. In the Spirt of the New Nanny State I think abortions should be mandatory fro anyone receiving welfare, food stamps, etc, for a period of three years. In the mindset of Nietzche (the liberal God), the race of man should be cleansed of anything non-productive. See, me can , thunk libural two........
Based on which component of society whoud you reference the average income. The productive minority of society or the parasitic supermajority in the Party of Parasites.
end the kid tax deduction? But that would mean the middle class would have to put their kids into gack public schools. Those aren't even being funded anymore cause a few trillion routed it's way to the war machine rather than to our brain machine. Well except for the trillion that went to the banks and the trillion that went to bankrupt car companies, etc.
Hmm, maybe public schools should go bankrupt. That way, we'd declare them to big to fail and refund them again.
Right, rrobeson, like we middle class families don't already send our kids to public schools. I mean, every middle class family can easily afford private schooling, with tuitions as high as colleges.
All three of my children went to public schools. And all three went on to college -- and two have graduated. And I have paid for all of it -- eveery flippin' penny of tuition, room, board, and fees. Uncle Sam never laid out a penny, because they calculated in FAFSA that I could afford $50K per child out-of-pocket before qualifying for any aid. With two college students simultaneously for four years, that meant I would have to pay $100K in tuition before qualifying for assistance -- which, btw, is double my gross salary.
So how the hell can you make your ludicrous comment above with a straight face? The only folks I know who can afford to send their kids to private schools are Washington Politicians, because public schooling isn't good enough for spoiled little Miss Muffy or Little Lord Fauntleroy.
I haven't gotten a "kiddie tax" deduction in years, nor a college tuition credit, nor any Stimulus payment, or any other government largesse! I served in the Army for 28 years, and continue to get screwed over by Uncle Sam because its easy to take things away from Veterans, since we're such a small constituency. Oh, and I don't qualify for Veterans Health Care, so I have to provide my own.
navynuke...get over it...YOU AND YOURS LOST....THIS COUNTRY WANTS CHANGE...IF YOU DON'T LIKE THAT WE VOTED{66million} IN THIS PRESIDENT.....WHO BY THE WAY, WILL GO DOWN IN HISTORY..OF ACHIEVING,WHAT OTHER U.S. PRESIDENTS.... How do you know it was not a fellow Democrat who did not support the bill? Besides, Jerry Springer is a daytime show, it only comes on when the Obama Ghetto Party can see it. The rest of us have to work.
You three a$$holes love the computer because you can hide behind it, You don't need any facts to be on here, all you undercover RACISTS/REPUBLICAN_NOTS.
for chrissake you people are children. FREE SPEECH DOES NOT MEAN ANYTHING, ANYTIME, ANYWHERE. The House & Senate have strict RULES in place to maintain orderly DEBATE, not CATCALLING.
This is precisely the same behavior we saw during the President's State of the Union address ("You lie!"). If you want Parliament, move back to Great Britain.
Why do Republicans become a bunch of childish, misbehaving brats when they lose elections?
This guy no doubt represents the same neanderthaloid asswipes who shouted racial slurs at members of the House. These are YOUR party members asserting their right to free speech--happy about that?
Oh cry me a river fndngo. What rock have you be living under? Liberals wrote the book on demeaning the opposition with slurs and vitriol. There were practically riots on the streets after Bush was reelected.
And you want to talk about rules!!!! Have you been watching nothing but PBS for the past 12 months or are you completely ignoring the backroom deals, bribes and lies used to win this vote?
And speaking of decorum at the State of the Union - did you not hear the President berate the Supreme court for making a ruling that he didn't agree with??? Unprecedented.
mickymac.... right on. Funny how the left can scream about someone being rude when they are in power but do the exact same to the previous admin. and think its all right
Mickymac: No, but I did see the President state his opinion about a dangerous Supreme Court ruling that flew in the face of years of precedence. But I guess it's okay for judges to "create new policy" when the Repubs agree with that policy, isn't it?!? Just as it's only okay for conservatives to express their rights of "free speech" but not for liberals. When liberals do it, we get called anti-American, anti-troops, and unpatriotic by the right. When Repubs do it, they get called "heroes." Interesting dichotomy.
Who ever it was was only half correct. They should have called him HO baby killer - he sold out and admitted he's stupid. Pledges and executive orders, or anything that requuires honesty and integrity mean nothing to this president. Stupak sold what he had just like a prostitute sells what she has - the only difference is they send a prostitute to jail for doing what stupak did.
I think whoever did it should anonymously offer to reveal their identity as soon as Stupak reveals the true back room deal he made to sell out his voters..Sorry, sell his vote.
Logdump....Possibly your Dad would not experience the greedy hands into his bank account as We will for this legislation. I would imagine Stupak will have a nice federal appointment if he is not reelected in his next bid. Possibly, sooner. I think his constituents should be privy to that sort of information.
The right wingers loudly providing a public display of their extreme behavior will turn off voters.
BTW, after watching yet another display of wing nut lunacy, it is important to mention that freedom OF religion also means freedom FROM religion. These self righteous people poison the atmosphere of democracy simply because they have the extreme and laughable notion that they speak for some god they have invented. What's worse, they think they have the obligation, by any means, to then shove their dogma down everyones throat. This very selfish act will then ensure that they successfully complete their personal heaven quest.
Their hero would likely not recognize the way they pervert his simple, peaceful message into a hawkish, beligerant, hating rhetoric we see displayed every day in our political discourse.
jim...Your sermon is very interesting however, it is not very comprehensive.
So what about those of us who are pro-choice but simply do not believe it is our taxable responsibility to pay for another persons unintended pregnancy.
Personally, if someone came to be and said I am going to go F$##@ the brains out of that guy...I would probably suggest they get on birth control first or at the very least use one of those designer condoms. I think that is as far as my responsibility should go to offering birth control advice to a rash or irresponsible person. If they find themselves in the midst of an unplanned pregnancy they should pay for the procedure themselves and next time maybe they will put a bit of change in the vending machine.
commonsense101...I didn't know that about private insurance. Then I suppose those pregnant teens can make a claim on their parents insurance. Those who's parents do not provide health insurance for their children can just pay the tab for their daughters. I would suggest rather than buying their kid their next set of piercings or tattoo they pay a Dr for a proper abortion. It might delay that boob job they were saving up for on her behalf but then again it is their accountability and responsibility when it comes to their pregnant teen.
Again, I am in total agreement with you. I fail to see what this has to do with you or I having to pay for someone elses abortion. That has never been the case and this new bill does nothing to change it.
These people want to believe the GOP lie so your facts fall on deaf ears. You tried to nicely lay out the facts, they will just continue to call you a liar because that is what their belief system is based on. Worse yet, they will soon forget or deny their current predictions of armageddon, of socialism run rampant, and the collapse of health care. The free book TheAuthoritarians.com presents empirical evidence illustrating that your courteous statement of facts just goofs up the wing nut's compartmentalized, contradictory, confused combination of lies, dogma and anger encouraging blurbs - like "baby killer", "socialist" or "death panels".
There is an old saying, "Never try and teach a pig to sing, it just wastes your time and annoys the pig!"
No, Joe Wilson is the first one to tell the truth in that chamber in a very long time. Stipak's name caller is the second. Nancy ruins the decorum by just being there.
No, Joe Wilson is the first one to tell the truth in that chamber in a very long time. Stipak's name caller is the second. Nancy ruins the decorum by just being there.
Joe Wilson is the liar.
"Nothing in this subtitle shall allow Federal payments for affordability credits on behalf of individuals who are not lawfully present in the United States." (See Section 246.)
Now find the part in the bill that says they will.
The argument was that there was no mechanism in the bill to prevent it. But when applying for coverage they would fall under a verification process which would determine their legal status as a citizen as will we all. So Joe Wilson was the liar.
They're all liars more worried about their re-election prospects than doing the right thing. Vote every damn one of them out this coming election. It doesn't matter if they are Republican, Democrat, for, or against the Health Care bill. Vote them all out because they just cannot play nice with each other. The only way anything can get done now is for one party to hold a super majority. There is no longer any compromising or bipartisanship left in Washington. Get them out. Get them out. Get them out.
Then you're absolutely no better than anyone else calling names. In this country - to date - we have freedom of speech. I'm sure that killing babies is ok - there was supposedly the promise of an executive order forthcoming in order to placate Stupak, we just don't want to hear about killing babies.
Let me ask you this: If the healthcare bill did not leave glaring opportunities to use federal funds for abortions (which it does), why would a presidental order even be proffered? Surely even a name-caller can figure this one out....How about the rest of you? Still got any critical thinking skills, or is that the government's job to do for you too? They'll be happy to do so.......
$300,000,000 for Landrieu; Nelson....well, he just got messed over, didn't he? Lincoln appointed agricultural position (it won't matter, Blanchie, we won't forget.....) and Stupak gets 3 airports? Pretty cheap for a conscience, isn't it? Pro-life your entire life, but you get a (laughable) executive order promise from the most aggressive abortion proponent in the oval office to date...... Your integritgy, Stupak, was cheaply bought.
Well I think that this is more thatn an ethical breech. I think that if he wants to stand at the highest mountain and say something like that, he should be able to. And i think that everyone should kick his ass with words just as incendiary, like "coward or pussy or wimp or just plain stupid".
All the lying and back door dealing going on in congress and it is just bussiness as usual, but one of them stands up and tells the truth and it is OH MY GOD the sorry SOB can't do that.
All the lying and back door dealing going on in congress and it is just bussiness as usual, but one of them stands up and tells the truth and it is OH MY GOD the sorry SOB can't do that.
Bob,
A) No, he was not telling the truth. He was lying. The bill has no provision whatsoever to pay for abortions of any kind.
B) Abortion is legal, FYI.
C) What he did was a violation of decorum,, civility and the House rules.
D) In light of this disturbing trend of vile behavior by GOP members, followed by their mealy-mouthed excuses/apologies, I am not convinced whatsoever that this guy's outburst was spontaneous. It seems like the GOP has been hell-bent on chipping away any legitimate, civil, fair-minded governance for the past few decades and has really sunk progressively to new lows since November 2006. Ask yourself what they are hoping to achieve in the long run. It scares me.
Daniel Webster, John Madison, John Adams and our other political greats must be spinning in their graves like lathes.
The real baby killers are Republicans, for denying millions of women access to prenatal care and forcing them into a situation where abortion is the only option. Health Care Reform will save lives, not just of babies, but of millions of americans too. Repulicans are not "Pro-life."
forcing them into a situation where abortion is the only option
Are you saying there are lunatic republicans running around American indiscriminately impregnating women in the hope that they cannot afford to finance their own abortions. Wow, and to think I though it was a preventable condition that required a bit of forethought and personal responsibility.
I don't know where you get the denying access to prenatal care comes from there are any number of clinics around this country that will provide care for people with no means. The only catch is the mother has to actually seek out the services and then show up for their appointments, in other words make it a priority in their own lives.
Give me a break. You Right Wingers don't care in pregnant teens get care because you think it's "their fault they got pregnant." I suggest you google "lack of prenatal care." It's always personal responsiblity, even to travel hundreds of miles to get some embarrising free, church provided natal care, right? The Taliban would be proud. Baby killers!!
Why are you right wingers always so against the govt telling you what to do, yet you don't mind the govt telling millions of women what to do with their bodies?
coloradovet...It has nothing to do with one "caring" or not. The fact of the matter is that medical services cost money. Now if the pregnant teen aged girl cannot find a location to provide free prenatal care, then she should probably ask the father of the child to help. Failing that if she is a teenager them I would suppose that her parent should actually provide for her as their child, because well she is their responsibility. Failing that well there is another set of grandparents that just might have a reach of responsibility to make sure their son's responsibilities are tended to. Honestly, it wasn't my 10 year olds fault but in the event it ever is I do believe I would make every attempt to assure that my grandchild had a healthy start.
You know I am right of center but, I would no suggest to tell any woman what to do with her body but then I don't think I should be held responsible when her body responds appropriately to nature. She hold the responsibility to say yes and she hold the responsibility to pay for any associated costs.
Before you bring up the issue of rape. Yes the state/criminal justice budget, should pay for the cost of a termination and then get their money back if the criminal is convicted. Personally, I would take payment in human hide in exchange for cash. Unfortunately, the sob would have to grow the skin back a couple of times before the debt were paid.
It's always personal responsiblity, even to travel hundreds of miles to get some embarrising free, church provided natal care, right?
Yes, that about sums it up. Although I think it is interesting that you think being embarrassed by receiving faith based care is an indignity to a woman and yet sleeping with some lousy sot that wouldn't help support his own child is no reflection on them at all.
txmom: "I think it is interesting that you think being embarrassed by receiving faith based care is an indignity."
Lemme see: If a pregnant woman goes to Planned Parenthood, she will be asked what her CHOICE is. If that same woman goes to a faith based care center, she will NOT be given a CHOICE.
BobIrvine...The I suppose she should go to planned parenthood and not a faith based clinic. See what you missed in your zeal was access to prenatal care. So that you clearly understand that means a decision to continue the pregnancy has been made.
What should be embarrassing for a pregnant teenager is the necessity to be in the position to make that choice. Obviously, at some point she made a choice to have sex when she was ill prepared to deal with the consequences.
txmom, there's the way you righties think things "ought to be" and there's the way things are. The bottom line however is that the way things are is that young women get pregnant. Your mantra of "personal responsibility and should have done this and that" results in more abortions.
coloradovet...Now how does pointing out an error or responsibility create more of any situation that exists?
If a girl gets pregnant she has to exercise responsibility and accountability in some way...The short story is she either: aborts, offers a child for adoption or has a baby. My discussion of responsibility and accountability can be equally valid in all three situations. With action comes reaction. What we have to worry about are those young women who are just too stupid to make any decision before she has no other option and CPS is knocking on her door or her baby is dead from neglect or abuse.
coloradovet, you have not responded. Let me paste your thought and respond.
there's the way you righties think things "ought to be" and there's the way things are. The bottom line however is that the way things are is that young women get pregnant.
Yes, young women get pregnant. That was a choice although the outcome may not be what they intended. That is basically life. Often times things happen that are not intended. Prudent people manage to change direction and get on with life without living off the Governments charity system. Fortunately, some pregnant teens change direction, have their baby and move on with life not living off the government charity system or possibly use those programs that are designed to give them skills to be independent.
Unfortunately, far too many young pregnant women have no clue, slept with a lout who takes no responsibility for his part of the pregnancy and expenses of a child. She can not involve the father and receive very costly federal benefits for the general population to fund her folly. Because she begins parenthood clueless the odds of her child growing up to break a chain of dependence are very slim.
Then there are the young pregnant women who do maintain a connection with the father but realize that she has privileges offered by the Federal Government. Instead of including him on the record they can still live together, he can work and finance a household but all associated costs of the child are funded by the tax payer. I see this as fraud. What are the odds that these families are going to raise their children to be any more reasonable toward society than they are.
So what "ought to be" is these young women making a choice but one that does not include strangers paying for their subsistence. Strangers have quite enough on their plate with the choices they have made that unknown masses clinging onto social services truly costs those working hard just to try to get ahead. It affects the ability of some families to save for their children's education as well as their own retirement. It is about to cost those who have reached a measure of success and can do more in the world through private funding of charities and other social giving.
The costs we have incurred raised generations of welfare lifestyle families is astounding and has absolutely damaged the ability for our country to maintain a healthy middle class. We should be a country with a very small working poor population that would need help but instead we are financing ignorant women to procreate without concern for the child. Not to mention the fact that in many communities those who earn money through illegal enterprise are still working the social service system and laughing all the way to the bank, while they are raising kids who will do the same.
From a Social and Economic standpoint I am all for going back to an Orphanage system in this country. Rather than offering a mother money offer her a way to stay unencumbered or she can work and not continue to have children until she can afford them. At least we would know that children are receiving food, shelter, an education and some level of love and committment. For what we spend in Assistance to mothers we could finance incredible care and facilities.
Me!
Stupak is happy, he got an amendment named after him. that is all he cares about.
Well surprise... it's a Texan. Funny, how all those people that heard it never corrected the statement.
Of course now they will all say they heard him say, "It's a baby killer" instead of, "Baby Killer".
Like cats covering poop. Hilarious.
Heat of the moment... They must always be in heat.
Seems like everyone on the far-right has come down with Tourette syndrome.
Hopefully their 'ailment' will be covered in this health care bill.
Geez, the religious right-eous.
Tim, Seattle....check out the results of this MSNBC pole.
http://politics.newsvine.com/_question/2010/03/21/4048693-the-house-has-passed-an-historic-health-care-overhaul-are-you-excited-or-angry
November can't come soon enough!!!
You know, it's an emotionally charged bill - I get that, but jeez, you'd think these lame brains could control themselves better in public!
Another right winger who apparently thinks it's ok to kill babies with bombs as long as you don't "kill" a fetus with a scapel. What gas bags.
Rep. Randy Neugebauer, 19th Congressional District, Texas.
Is YOU LIE! 2.0
Typical Texas Republican, putting the "ass" back in "class".
American Dad,
No one said he committed a crime. He has every right to make a complete fool of himself on national tv, and no one was claiming otherwise.
It's legal to stand up and shout at the preacher in mid-sermon, too. Completely rude, but legal.
Enough, is most definately, enough!!
funny thought here....remember when Joe Wilson yelled "YOU LIE". all you carpetbaggers thought "for shame"...well guess what? ... ol' Joe was right, wasn't he. if ol' Joe was right, that makes you WRONG. you northern panhandlers just follow the anointed pied piper right over the cliff. we are doing just fine here in Texas and believe me, we need neither you or the anointed one anywere here south of the red river.
I'm just surprised it was'nt someone from the not so great state of s.c..
Add to that he's from Texas, which executes more people than every other state combined!
I am NOT happy about the health care bill.
I am DISGUSTED by the comment calling someone a baby killer. Did I wake up in the 1960s or something?
HEY DUDE with the BIG MOUTH. Who are you calling a baby killer? ABORTION IS LEGAL in this country.
If you don't like it, move to China.
Bob 101 - please show your sources.
AMEN...Tank Carson...Amen
Cathy M:
I was just scrolling down to write the same thing. I don't ever recall Bush being heckled on the House floor. I guess some people think that all they have to do is say something for it to be true.
realist, your guess is dead on. Making totally false and outrageous statements for shock value, since they have absolutely no moral or ethical grounds to stand on, and repeating them ad nauseum is the bread and butter of the repugnants.
Article & accompanying video at:

Oh, I see... now that explains everthing. It was a Congressman from Texas. No surprises here, keep moving right along!
I guess the shoutin' didn't git to finish: Their KILLIN' MORE THAN BABIES with all 'dis CRAP !!!
Karen in LA
The only "HYPOCRITE" here, is you!
spider, is it funny that bush/cheney are actually murderers and torturers? Is it funny that they ran the economy into the ground? Was it hilarious when you found out the basis for war in Iraq was fabricated? I bet you were in stitches when the market crashed and your hero w, left the american taxpayer to pay the banksters bill. I guess when they say that ignorance is bliss, this is what they refer to.
The republicans in congress at this time flat sicken me, they don't have any interests beyond themselves! SICKENING, the entire lot!
Stupak is as stupak does.
You can't fix Stupak.
Ok for anyone who thinks what this creep said about his comment being for the bill is correct I have this gold brick for sale.
You probably didn't pay attention when it did.
Don't worry about being a democrat who supported the war, many democrats thought that there were WMD in Iraq - even before Bush took office!
Don't troll everyone in a state, Tim, Seattle. You're suspended for a day for violating #5 of the Code of Honor.
apologizing for calling either Stupidpak or the Bill what he/it is?
This is what everyone is upset about?
300 million people just got raped by their own govt and the media is all up in arms because someone dare called a spade a spade?
Looking forward to November.

As an aside, I know this doesn't look right, but I can't seem to get it to work properly.
precisely
Texas is the laughing stock of the nation.
Texans are proud of being full of crap.

Hey, Arthur, my boy; Texas is SOLVENT. For those with small minds, that means that they aren't broke like the big lib states are. And where the hell did you get your crime statistics???? Why don't you tell us where you're from and how great things are going there?
(I'm so embarrassed to be from Texas.)
(I'm sooooo embarrassed to be from Texas.)
What else did stupak get? I heard 75 million. Guess thats the going rate now.
let the guy take his vote, I'm glad he stood up.
And what did you get for your very much unconfirmed commentary? Apparently besmirching someones character without any basis in fact...well...I guess that sort of thing is free of charge.
golfman There are lots of haters. Watch your back. These pro abortion people must think women do not have babies. That they have pigs, goats etc.
By the way, your post looked fine. Very readable.

Golfmanj,
Are you serious? That's all you can add to the debate? You are an example of the people in this country who can't see a topic for what it really is, or can't even define thier won POV pro or con. Like the moron who yelled out a terrible thing on the House floor, you are simply showing everyone there is still a large number of people in this country who just don't get it. How sad.
Everyone knows that the republican party is full of hypocrites, bigots, and racists. A truly disgusting and loathsome group of subhumans.

Republican verbal "ejaculations" are nothing new.
Witness Cheney's "Go f#^k" yourself" comment to Patrick Leahy.
@bibol,
Find me an actual "Pro-Abortion" person.
Sheesh!
"Or is there another name for it?"
Yes, Freedom.
But I know...much of the world hates us for our freedoms. Including many republicans.
This statement is a bold faced lie!
didn't you know....the right has never let the facts get in the way of their rant.
You can call it anything you want to ease your conscience but one thing you can't deny is that you have to KILL it to get rid of it.
Tyler/Newsvine
4 deleted, recently suspended SueZQ65 bailing to ObamaLies2Much, both accounts banned. Don't register another account when you're suspended, folks.
"Baby Killers"! What's the matter Democraps can't handle the truth?
Take stock of the world and our habits; killing is what humans do best.
They also have a right to be cowardly and not own up to it. How brave to stand up for something and then hide your face.
A temper tantrum is news. Apparently the right is suffering from a lot of them these days. I think it is worth knowing who is mature enough to represent me and who isn't.
You'd think that he would be featured on Fox this morning as a big hero.
Rep. Randy Neugebauer, classy!! Another example why there should be term limits and career politicians put back into the private sector.
Yep just saw that they updated it. Of course he says he didn't say Baby Killer.. he said It's a baby killer. Though everyone near him heard baby killer or heard all of it but neglected to correct it. I guess he felt the need to mumble half of that and yell the rest. Tourettes anyone?
The main point is that you had someone say something incendiary in public that they are embarassed to admit to.
What does that say about the nature of right wing politics these days?
Insults, disinformation and, above all, politics.
hmmm...just like left wing politics. also, in this case, threatening and bribing.
They ALL suck.
I mean really. Are they that angry and out of control that they can't control themselves?! Anybody calling this man a hero is disillusioned and just plain stupid. How could you get behind behavior like this and consider this man anything other than a sore loser with no respect for himself or his peers. He should be fined!
I could totally see myself yelling out like that. If u feel strongly enough about something it's hard to control your tounge, no matter where your at.
1. The repubs remind me of the little spoiled brats screaming at mommy for a candy bar as she's trying to buy some nutritious groceries.
2. The lobbyists will buy them all the candy bars they want when they grow up.
It just proves once again who the immature "children" are in this whole process. To make it worse, the perpetrator won't even own up to it. So much for the right wing BS rhetoric about people taking reponsibility for their actions!
Rep Obey is NOT from Minnesota. I believe he is from Wisconsin.
nm
Not, NM!
David Obey is one of my Representatives from Wisconsin.
Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa I'am spilling my coffee!
Um, Yeah.....NO ideas, NO solutions, NO policy, NO leaders, NO candidates
Got solutions?
Tim you live in Seattle where the homeless own the street and cops are shot on a bi-weekly basis. The streets are full of white teenager beggars with filthy cornrow hair and expensive jackets and backpacks. You live next to Canada for God's sake. What makes you think you have anything at all to say to the world? Your statement above is really dimwitted because as I, you, and the other readers know the Rep. party has all the things you listed above. You may not like them, but they do have them. Please god go buy an Obama tee shirt or something you are really obnoxious.
i've only known one ian, that one was an idiot too.
Mr.C-396767, you're suspended for a day for violating #1 of the Code of Honor.
Don't username-troll, ian-1679890. You're suspended for a week for violating #1 of the Code of Honor pretty much throughout the discussion.
Get familiar:
TJ Independent and phil-401713, mind the second part of that rule.
The Congress has rules that are supposed to be followed. It's obvious that tradition and honor toward both a fellow congressman or to the president has been abandoned. It's a shame this particular crop of legislators are dumbing down the civility of our public discourse.
But the bribery, kickbacks, extortion and corruption that are the signatures of the Ghetto Party are a long-honored tradition? Could have fooled me.
navynuke - naive of you to think for one minute that Republicans didn't do the same thing when they were in power. Get real and get off your sanctimonious high horse.
navynuke: Why do you call it the Ghetto Party?
The Ghetto party? Like as in they ghet-to-spend party?
hmm, after the past 30 years, which one isn't the spending party again?
And the American voter will say NO to voting GOP; NO Ideas, NO policy, NO Solutions, no leadership...NO votes!
No is not a solution. Got policy?
Jeez here is the same tool (big Tim in Seattle) making the same comment as in the previous thread. God Tim do your parents know you skipped school today?
Ian:
Tim's post makes more sense than aything you've posted.
Got fact based answers? Can you show where the Reps are offering better solutions?
Didn't think so.
Or are you just going to get all emotional and make accusations, like Beck. Maybe you can shed a fake tear for sympathy as well.
Here's a clip a George arguing the finer points of pro lifers only loving the unborn and well F the rest of us.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w15OS2PdCKo
Obey is from Wisconsin.
And Stupak has done tremendous things for Michigan. though I don't agree with him, he stuck to his convictions.
Last time I looked, Obey lived in Wisconsin. Wonder what else is wrong with your facts?
I do not see what the issue about federal funding for abortions is so crucial. In the Spirt of the New Nanny State I think abortions should be mandatory fro anyone receiving welfare, food stamps, etc, for a period of three years. In the mindset of Nietzche (the liberal God), the race of man should be cleansed of anything non-productive. See, me can , thunk libural two........
And to go with that, then, end tax deductions for kids for anyone making over twice the average income!
Bartman,
Based on which component of society whoud you reference the average income. The productive minority of society or the parasitic supermajority in the Party of Parasites.
We haven't been able to take a deduction for our 14 year old for over 5 years. That deduction already phases out as income goes up.
end the kid tax deduction?
So try smoking that pipe for a while.
navynuke...get over it...YOU AND YOURS LOST....THIS COUNTRY WANTS CHANGE...IF YOU DON'T LIKE THAT WE VOTED{66million} IN THIS PRESIDENT.....WHO BY THE WAY, WILL GO DOWN IN HISTORY..OF ACHIEVING,WHAT OTHER U.S. PRESIDENTS.... Why don't they just admit that they did it?
Isn't the Jerry Springer mentality something to be proud of??
How do you know it was not a fellow Democrat who did not support the bill? Besides, Jerry Springer is a daytime show, it only comes on when the Obama Ghetto Party can see it. The rest of us have to work.
navynuke: Why do you call it the "Obama Ghetto Party?"
Just as Bush did. You are really stupid Robert.
You three a$$holes love the computer because you can hide behind it, You don't need any facts to be on here, all you undercover RACISTS/REPUBLICAN_NOTS.
RobertB, if you log off now, you can catch all of your favorite shows on Fox News.
Issues like health care - or job, or the stimulus, etc. - come and go.
Courage, character, and common decency last forever.
If you said it, stand up.
If you know who said it, stand up.
If not, perhaps you should leave.
So who was it that shouted "shut up you white b**& at the Obama Rally becasue Michelle swore is was not her?
Based on the typical childish right wing comments, it must have been a "tea bagger" trying to "frame" her!
What have we become as a people and a nation??
That which we've always been: a dysfunctional melting pot, melting down.
for chrissake you people are children.
Well put...agree
Oh cry me a river fndngo. What rock have you be living under? Liberals wrote the book on demeaning the opposition with slurs and vitriol. There were practically riots on the streets after Bush was reelected.
And you want to talk about rules!!!! Have you been watching nothing but PBS for the past 12 months or are you completely ignoring the backroom deals, bribes and lies used to win this vote?
And speaking of decorum at the State of the Union - did you not hear the President berate the Supreme court for making a ruling that he didn't agree with??? Unprecedented.
mickymac.... right on. Funny how the left can scream about someone being rude when they are in power but do the exact same to the previous admin. and think its all right
stlmike, prove it.
Wonder how many coronary malfunctions we have over there today.

That's a bit more specific. You're suspended for a day for violating #1 of the Code of Honor.
This is the sorry state of right wing politics.
Persoanl attacks and politics first, issues last and the nation's work not at all.
.....and while millions languish unemployed! YEP, healthcare is the more important crisis at this moment! Nyet, comrade!
Dad told me the best way to win is learn how to lose gracefully. Apparently nobody in your family bothered to tell you that.
If they find themselves in the midst of an unplanned pregnancy they should pay for the procedure themselves and next time maybe they will put a bit of change in the vending machine.
txmom32, You are right and that is exactly the way it is unless you buy private insurance despite what the lying party of no may tell you.
commonsense101...I didn't know that about private insurance.
Commonsense,
These people want to believe the GOP lie so your facts fall on deaf ears.
Children is what these lawmakers are. Name calling ,give me a break, it serves no purpose.
The "Decorum" in the House was ruined when the Democrats rammed this bill through. Baby Killer is kind compared to what I would have said!
No it was ruined by Joe "You Lie" Wilson.....
No, Joe Wilson is the first one to tell the truth in that chamber in a very long time. Stipak's name caller is the second. Nancy ruins the decorum by just being there.
Amen Hunter!!
Hunter and Downtown...look at the bright side of passage. Your antipschotic drugs will be a lot cheaper.............
SteveO: "Baby Killer is kind compared to what I would have said!"
I'll be kind and only call you a disgusting idiot.
Health care legislation - might that have a positive effect on prenatal care, thus _helping— to ensure the baby's survival? Do you think?
Joe Wilson is the liar.
BobInIrvine:
Man you actually used the word 'wimp.' Incendiary indeed! .....moron

Our greats are indeed turning over in their graves as the American Left destroys America.
The real baby killers are Republicans, for denying millions of women access to prenatal care and forcing them into a situation where abortion is the only option. Health Care Reform will save lives, not just of babies, but of millions of americans too. Repulicans are not "Pro-life."
Republicans are pro-life-of-luxury.
THAT'S embarrassing.
Actually, "Treasonous Sellout" would have been more appropriate.
