There are very few reasonable people who would argue that healthcare needed 'reformed' however a massive entitlement program, while we are in the midst of pulling ourselves out of a recession is not the answer. Most people with decent insurance are those with decent jobs. Wouldn't it have been better to concentrate on job creation? Why not give companies incentives for providing decent health insurance? Why not have an insurance czar who oversees the insurance industry? What this bill has done has forced every american citizen to purchase a healthcare policy or suffer the consequences! How is that not socialism? Are we not going to have a panel of doctors AND politicians on a transplant board in the near future determining who lives and who dies? This disgusting "News" is nothing but more PR.

In answer to all of your hypothetical questions, the answer is no and I'm sure you have no idea either. But way to spout out platitudes with such vigor and passion! In fact, there was a study that showed that the majority of those people that apparently show up to the emergency room for unecessary emergency treatment are actually those that have insurance, not those that do not. Therefore, now that everyone will have insurance, that problem can only be compounded, not reduced. And since the only way to reduce it would be for someone third party to tell them they require approval to go the emergency room, I quess you wouldn't object to waiting for insurance approval to go to the emergency room because the only way to stop some, is to require approval for all. I can't wait, afterall, a third party government official will really speed up the emergency room process!

This legislation has nothing in it to lower costs, insure quality care, accessibility and more primary care providers, as we currently do not have nearly enough to help. Barry, the plan has not been implemented and its already in financial trouble. Obama has pointed to transfer pricing as a cost issue, that people who do not have insurance are using the ERs across American like most of us use a medicine chest in the bathroom.

Please understand, what they did was add 32 million people to the insurance rolls, that does not include the 11-12 million that were left behind and never covered by this plan. It also does not include illegals, who have been using the ERs to obtain band aids. Now added to this are the seniors, the cuts to medicare will result in many doctors unable to treat medicare and medicaid patients plus you take away Medicare Advantage, and when 25-30 million seniors who are affected can't pay their medical bills, the transfer pricing continues. So net net, we spent nearly $940 billion (or 2 trillion) and we have roughly the same problem we had before with the cost of health care, perhaps more, since the seniors will likely have more medical problems and will be using the ER more for what should have been covered and paid for by medicare.

Incorrect. The only people that are not allowed to deny healthcare are emergency rooms. Any doctor can refuse to treat someone who doesn't have insurance. What that leads to is people using the ERs as primary care facilities, or failing to get medical care until they're seriously ill - both of which lead to higher costs. So YOU'RE the one who needs to dispel the myth.
