We can expect Dems & Reps to fall somewhat within party lines, but the Independents (38% favorable, 55% unfavorable with balance "unsure") tells us how right of center Palin is. I think it was a mortal mistake for McCain to have picked her. Until then he had run on theme of experience and trustworthiness, which he might have exploited successfully. I think a certain percentage of besotted Republicans just catch sight of Palin and get woozy and are completely untroubled by questions of qualifications.

I am not so certain about it being a mortal mistake. Palin was drawing very positive numbers from the Republican and the Conservative base. McCaine was winning the Republicans, but not the Conservatives. Palin was the ticket to draw out the Conservatives. Palin's number has only started to drop after the election.

Obama's young people tickets never panned out. The younger generation proved once again that younger generation do not vote.

IQ is simply a measure of intellegence. It foreshadows nothing about application. In addition, we barely use up 25% of our brain's capability. So it would only make sense a normal person can surpass another if he/she simply learn to use more part of their brain. It is about potential, a double edge sword.

For any of you who have ever been in the Dr.'s office WAITING for your turn to see the Dr., I'd like you to explain to the demented 'medical sales rep', who is afraid of losing her job that SHE's one of the biggest reasons that the Dr. runs behind. I don't even allow these prostitutes IN MY OFFICE anymore. If they want to drop off their samples - they are free to do so but I HAVE NO TIME TO listen to their company drivel. I can do my OWN drug research and while I will give samples to patients who need immediate antibiotic therapy and have no drug coverage, or any short term drug coverage to patients that I KNOW have very little money. I will NOT interrupt my day to speak with them nor do I permit them to 'do lunch' for my staff or for myself. I don't attend their 'educational dinners' for their 'new' drugs that are likely clones of their 'old' drug which is going off patent soon and I think they're the LOWEST form of life in the medical world. I won't sign for their samples because I am busy seeing my patient who has waited LONG ENOUGH and I will ask the NP who works with me (while she is just as busy as I am) to sign their vouchers which verify that I've accepted their samples. Often the staff winds up having to throw away expired samples since I wont use ANY new drug on any patient of mine until it's been on the market for at LEAST one year. So honey, whoever you are, I suggest that you get another job anyway. Sarah and Michelle are NOT going to help you. PS - Most drug detailing is now done via the mail or web so your a dinosaur anyway for the few remaining practices that consent to your intrusions.

If you are in fact doing your own drug research, then kudos to you. Unfortunately, there are lots of doctors who don't. They are doing things the way they've done them for the last ten years. They think they know what's best for their patients, but, because they don't pay attention to medical advances, they are doing things less efficiently.

I'm in sales (not medical or pharmaceutical), and it's absolutely stunning how many people can't be inconvenienced by technological advances. Trust me. some things are worth hearing about. And if a sales person has to bribe a doctor with lunch to drag them into the current medical scene, it says more about the doctor than the seller.

If you truly are doing your own research, then good for you. If you're not, then please start or start listening to your sales reps. You owe it to your patients to know what is current in your industry.
