Nice try at a "spin", but here's the latest from Rasmussen - easily the most accurate pollster in the 2008 elections;

"A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 45% would vote for their district's Republican congressional candidate, while 36% would opt for his or her Democratic opponent."

The Democrats held a 7% advantage in November of 2008, so that means 16% of voters have turned against the Democrats, and the Republicans have held an advantage for the last 10 months - just 6.5 more months to go to the mid-terms.

Obama is in a quandary - Does he keep pushing forward with his far-left agenda while he still has majorities in Congress, or does he soften his agenda in hopes of saving some Democrats in Congress? My bet is "full steam ahead".

The sad part is that the Dems and Repubs could have passed a bipartisan health care reform bill on the 12-14 changes that both parties agreed on. For anyone who watched the health care summit there were many issues that the republicans would have voted for. Why not pass what 98% of the USA wanted instead of passing what 38% wanted with all of the extra garbage thrown in?

Regardless of what any liberal thinks of the health care reform bill the president, Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi had to buy a majority of votes from their own party. They could not convince their own people to outright vote for this bill.

Looking back... Obama has not accomplished much. He came into the White House with majorities in the House and Senate. They could have passed any law. The Republicans could not stop them. ANY BILL COULD HAVE BEEN PASSED!! The Cap and Trade bill was so bad that they couldn't buy the votes in the Senate and the entire world knows about the back room deals to try and buy votes on the Health Care Bill. The Democrats should have been able to pass an environmental bill and health care reform easily but the bills were so slimy that a lot of democrats didn't want anything to do with them.

Regardless if you are a Democrat or Republican you cannot refute the fact that Obama has screwed up a perfect opportunity (with majorities in the House and Senate) to pass real positive reform that our country needs. Yeah we got Health Care Reform but boy is it a horrible bill. Democrats didn't like it much but thought it was better than nothing. Obama did however manage to spend close to $5 Trillion or 30% of our entire National Debt while not adding much needed jobs.

In political time measurement it's about a half a lifetime from now until November 2010 and about several lifetimes from now until November 2012; a lot can and will happen. Even though there is strong opposition to the party in control at this moment, their unfavorables can certainly turn around between now and the elections, and, as promising as things may appear right now for the republicans, they certainly have the ability to screw up a marble just like they did from 2002 until 2006 when they were kicked to the curb and then continued to do so until 2008 when they were deposited in the dumpster.

The real number is the average score and Obama has been below 50 for months and months and, even more telling, his negatives are almost as high or higher than his positive. RCP average has his spread at +1. Yesterday it was -.7. The overall trend, however, has been down. Also the state run media outlet, the AP, stated a tie for who will vote for each party. The pollsters use a very small sample, on the order of a few thousand, of Americans to determine how the balance, on the order of 300 million. are thinking. The few thousand are not randomly picked, they are very carfully selected based upon characteristics known only to the polling experts. The idea is that if you have the correct sample, an accurate determination can be made without incurring the expense of a much larger sample.

The same idea is used in manufacturing. The magic number is 31 parts out of potentially hundreds or thousands. This works, if you understand what characteristics are important, sophisticated mathematical techniques and statistical sampling theory. If you don't understand these disciplines, you had probably just accept what the pollsters are telling you since you would have no basis to debate them.

Putting people back to work should be the priority. And polls are crap.

Polls can be crap. They tend to be crap when they're compared to one another because the questions are phrased differently and different people are asked. However, if you follow the same poll and pollsters, they strive for consistency in their questions and interpretations. Otherwise they're useless, not only to us, but themselves.

The real value in a poll is watching how it changes over time. The absolute numbers are less important than the trends.

The Tea Party will be out tomorrow, just turn on any TV.

But when a poll suggests something like, I don't know, that most Tea Party members are fat, white, inbreds who can hardly count on their six fingers, that you would suggest it's biased and wrong. I didn't say these problems started when Obama took office. Before you take me to task, or attempt to, read AND comprehend my post. It will make for a much better dialogue if you can actually keep up.

As for facts, I'm pretty fond of them. When you get a chance, show me the incorrect "fact" in the post you reference. Here's a fact for you. The president, whoever it is, doesn't create laws, good or bad. He only signs the bill after Congress forwards it to him. So, how exactly is it not the fault of Congress?

Obama and these poles, who believes anything they read or see anymore? I for one, feel extremely manipulated by the media any time I have the dumb idea to read the news or turn on something as simple as the movie channel. I fell like I want to rebel against the Federal government and I see movies on the civil war being played on the classic movie channel. I'm just sick of all of it. I think what you can make of the polls that reflect negatively on Obama is this:

The majority of Americans do not think he is doing a wonderful job. The majority of Americans are worried about the deficit. The majority of Americans don't like the healthcare bill. The majority doesn't believe he is focused on the right things--"It's the economy, stupid." Quoting Mr. Clinton, not calling you stupid. The majority of Americans believe we are not going in the "right" direction. And finally, after 7 or 8 years of China and Russia blocking our attempts at sanctioning Iran, do you really believe there was a major breakthrough? If you do, I have a condo with your name on it, for the right price, 60 miles east of Daytona Beach?

He's one and done. But that's not the worst part for you dummycrats. He has destroyed your dummycrat party and his signature health care bill will be repealed and replaced. Politicians and leaders are supposed to do the will of the people, or convince the people that their ideas are good ones. He has been unable to do either and it there will be a serious price to pay at election time.

You guys were this cocky during the election you lost you were this cocky during the health care debate you lost you were this cocky while trying to kill the stimulus you lost, you have lost every battle against Obama and the democrats and you will loss in November.
