Obama has lost support of the independents and many of the liberals that supported his election because of his failed policies and racist socialist agenda. He has continued the two wars and actually increased troops. His healthcare reform satisfied no one, neither liberal or conservative. His racist policies have shown him to be the racist he really is. His support for radical Islam has shown that he is a Muslim at heart and anti-Christian. His support for democratic candidates is the kiss of death for them. His economic policies have brought the states and the country to the edge of bankruptcy. Unemployment is over 10% and in many areas closer to 18%. His administration is a complete failure. Vote these dems out in November.
Lots of luck on that one pal! lol! Reid is running against Sharron "Fruit cake" Angle. She keeps wacking herself in the head with all the dumb stuff she says and does for all to see.
Better not hold your breath. Better start looking for that "AngleHeaded" woman, she is hidding somewhere in, probably, Nevada! I think she is allergic to light and especially mics. Harry would have been gone but the Tea Baggers have assured ole Harry will be back in business in Washington D. C. in early November of this year. Thanks for all the help Tea People. Keep up the good work. How much would you bet, Mr. Maverick, that AngleHead will win versus Mr. Harry Reid? I like "lock" bets. I'll take Harry you can have AngleHead! Tell AngleHead to come on out. Nobody gonna ask her a trick question like, what newspapers do you read? What's the capitol of Nevada? Or, which way is up? Nothing that tough! Good Luck, your gonna need all you can get!
I am black and I am sick you white fools go back to trying to paint blacks are bad people coming to take away what the white race believe belong to them and them only which is this country. This country belong to blacks as well so stop all your hate before yu nuts start another civil war and this one will not be pretty. Stop with the stupid verus racist becasue most people are not buy the lies you white are trying to sell.
Good luck with that, Maverick....Reid is polling 7 points ahead of Angle, 44% to 37%. I suspect moderate Republicans in Nevada are starting to realize just how nutty Angle really is, and just how frightened she is of the media.
Maverick, that same stupid name was attached to Old John and then to Airhead Palin, it's funny that you took it for yourself. First, Reid, like most all those republicans in the Senate, is a rich man who doesn't need unemployment benefits, he'll do fine with several million dollars a year in speaking fees. But thanks for the concern, it's always great to see some moron needlessly worried about others. Hey, maybe he needs a gardener or dog walker Maverick, you should apply, assuming you can pass a drug test now.
Actually Obama has lost many independent and liberals because he is a corporate centrist. The right wing has done a good job trying to paint him as a liberal, but he is not. I know I supported him at first and then he caved on the stimulus to many tax cuts not enough commons, caved on health care no public option much less single payer, caved on Wall street reform no private funded TBTF account no re-in-statement of Glass-Steagall, and is caving on Carbon tax...so two things become evident...
1) Obama has never been a liberal or socialist...keep trying Beck and teabaggers...
2) If he wants liberal support, he better start throwing liberals a bone besides DADT
Obama not a liberal? What a joke. He was the most liberal voting senator in his brief term in the U.S. Senate before he started campaigning full-time for the presidency. His campaign promises was a liberal shopping list that they had wanted for 50 years. He has failed to implement all of his liberal promises because he could not persuade his own democrats to vote for them. The dems controlled the house and the senate and could pass any bill they wanted without a single republican vote. Put the blame where it belongs.
He has continued the two wars and actually increased troops
Anyone who thought either war would be over by now is an idiot. Frankly, if Bush had listened to his advisers (including Cheney) early on in Afghanistan, we might actually be out of there by now. As far as troop increases, how about some number references? Iraq troop counts had decresed last time I looked, while Afghanistan numbers went up with the surge. Is it actually a net increase, or does it balance out?
His racist policies have shown him to be the racist he really is. His support for radical Islam has shown that he is a Muslim at heart and anti-Christian
Nice Glenn Beck talking point. Too bad it isn't true, but I'd bet you don't let facts get in the way of your opinions.
His economic policies have brought the states and the country to the edge of bankruptcy.
Um no, state and federal economic policies in place for decades have done that. Again, I'm sure in your eyes the country was perfectly fine until Jan 2009.
Unemployment is over 10% and in many areas closer to 18
Where exactly is it close to 18%? I want several examples since you claim it's this way in many areas. FoxNewsLand and LimbaughVille don't count.
Vote these dems out in November
And put who in, the GOP? They're just as bad, but Beck will never tell you that...
See there you go trying to paint him as a liberal because he voted on a couple things in the Senate, the senate... ? which we all know is the most conservative branch of government. Show me a liberal senator and I will show you what would be a moderate representative.
He got moderate bills passed with no help from the GnoP...what does that tell you about how far to the right the GnoP is? Corporate fascism seemed like a scary possibility when Bush was in office, now it seems to be the Republican platform. Anything less is socialism, now that is funny...
Perhaps you should look up the definition of a liberal and a socialist. Better yet why not provide your definition. I'll wager it's amusing at the very least.
Obama is the worst thing that has ever happened to this Country. His policies have saddled this Nation with Debt that will resound through generations... And frankly...I could care less what color your are or what color he is... but calling me a "Fool" because I am white tells me all I need to know about some black people...nothing but reverse racist trash straight out of Hollywood casting.
What foolishs liberal do not understand is, they have been exposed, they have had the light shined firmely into their eyes and they are afraid. Afraid that the vast majority has awoken... afraid their ride will soon be at an end... but most of all afraid because no one believes their lies and distortion of the truth anymore... unless of course they have been thouroughly brainwashed by the Progressive machine...
The gauntlet has been laid down... we will not stop, we will not be afraid, we will not back down... we are notr concerned or moved by your false attacks and ridiculous accusations... We are coming to EXPOSE, DESTROY & Undermine with the truth everything the Progressive liberals have done to destroy our way of life... and you will soon learn that all those you have called names and set your ELITIST sights on....OUT NUMBER YOU and have been motivated by people who have your number.
Be afraid...LIBERALS.... Be very very afraid.
Best thing about my statement.... I know we will never have to do a thing, You will devour your own like the cowards you are long before you have to stand toe to toe to a REAL AMERICAN....
With all the promises Obama made he should have taken more of a Bush attitude. Just push your agenda through and shrug your shoulders when others don't like it. He had a lot of good ideas when he was running then he tried to appease everyone. When you do this no one is happy. Push through your agenda and shrug your shoulders and let the chips fall where they may. If you believe in your plan than just do it. History will judge you.
I am black and I am sick you white fools go back to trying to paint blacks are bad people coming to take away what the white race believe belong to them and them only which is this country.
Thought we were going to drop the Racist crap. If not - don't forget about the Browns kicking the ladder out. Must really irritate Blacks. Look at the unemployment figures - Blacks are getting ripped by Obama.
He "sought out the communists and marxists" in his own words while in college. He has surrounded himself with SELF ADMITTED communists, socialists and marxists including but not limited to Bill "the terrorist" Ayers, Van Jones, Cass Sundstien et al.
You can lie all you want about Fox news, Beck and the TEA Party, maybe if you say it enough it will come true, ulikely. You idiots wouldn't know the truth if it hit you in the face, and it has plenty. BTW I garauntee you that many of the things Fox and Beck have broken would never have seen the light of day in the unapologetic left media which includes NBC, CBS, ABC, MSNBC, CNN, NYT, HUFFINGTON POST now would we?
The people of the TEA Party are sick and tired of BOTH sides not listening to the people they are supposed to represent you moron. I guess you haven't been listening because if you had you would know that. Insulting people for standing up against what is obviously a hard left leaning agenda put forth by this administration... Priceless. We don't want anything but for our elected officials to represent the people who put them in office without ripping us off left and right. Maybe if you took your blinders off and started listening to what is actually being said instead of what you are TOLD by your masters to believe you MIGHT be able to understand that.
Name one and I mean ONE positive thing this President has done. Healthcare? No, 70% of the country wanted them to scrap the bill that was passed and start over from scratch. Immigration? No, the majority of the country wants AZ to be left alone or for the federal gov't to HELP fighting the ILLEGAL INVASION from the southern border, what did he do? He sued AZ. Tarp? NO! I don't even need to get into that do I? How about the stimulus? NO, the fact that this moron wants another multi billion $ stimulus when they haven't even spent the first one... OMG. Gulf spill? Hell no, all he did was get in the freaking way of people who could have mitigated the damage that he has ALLOWED. What about destroying family businesses? Yep sure has done a hell of alot of that, just ask any of the mom and pop car dealerships that were put out of business (an inordinate number of GOP contributors btw FACT). The economy? Come on, less than 5% when Bush left office (yes going up I give you that) almost 10% now and closer to 20% if you count those that have quit filing, why you ask? Due to the job killing, over taxing, over regulating policies this idiot believes in.
Now who has gotten richer since he came into office? Unions, who are killing the country and will not admit or take any responsibility, just give them their money and shut up is how they feel. Groups like ACORN which btw has supposedly folded, funny thing is the "community org groups" are still using the exact same tax ID's they had while in the fold.
If you want to live in a socialist country I suggest France, Greece, Russia go on, no one is trying to hold you here. Your idiocy about how we are a socialist country is just that, idiocy. There are functions the feds are supposed to take care of, the road (interstate commerce, in the constitution), the military (which he has put Barney Frank in charge of gutting), international trade agreements (which for some reason always favor the other countries) and for arguments sake immigration (not amnesty, actual immigration). I see NO benefits to anything this man has done, and see plenty of poor policies that have INTENTIONALLY harmed this country. Say what you want, I don't think George W. ever intentionally harmed the country, I honestly can't say that with this guy. And that's coming from someone who didn't like Bush at all.
Yawn. Same old crap from Wingnuts. Just remember boys, you brought in fascism under Bush. Started two wars, allowed terrorists to attack us on home soil, and allowed unabaited the financial meltdown.
"Socialism" - you don't know how to even make "capitalism" work right.
BTW - for the record - our president is Christian. Maybe you are talking like a "traitor" as former VP Chaney would say, when speaking about your current president and his efforts. I'm very happy King George is gone.
OHHHHH YEAH, WATCH OUT LIBERAL PROGRESSIVES, OBAMA GONNA KICK SOME A$$!!!!!!!!!!!!
He's gonna lead the way for the Progressives to the promised land. He's got that MOJO workin now. That magic, that black magic (oops, will that comment be on Olderman or Madcow?). He's convincing the country and the WORLD what a true leader he really is.
Lets see, he's quadrupled the Deficit and the Debt is rising at the rate of $3 MILLION DOLLARS a minute. Unemployment isn't at 8% its at 16.5%. We've wasted a TRILLION dollars in $timulu$ on government jobs and social service programs. The Health Care Redistribution hoax is officially costing much more than the TRILLION DOLLAR limit Obama set and it hasn't even started yet! The HCR mandate is now officially a tax on all of us, wasn't there an Obama promise of no new taxes on those making less than $250,000? The G-20, China, Germany and even the U.K. has ridiculed his ridiculous Keynesian Spenda-thon economic policy. Bernanke has even called it "unusual uncertainty', which means he has NO FU**ING IDEA what Obama is doing. The housing industry is at a standstill despite pumping BILLIONS into incentives and tax credits. Foreclosures are on a record pace, soon to top 1 MILLION. GM is struggling so what does it do? It buys AmeriCredit Corp. the largest lender to consumers with less than stellar credit. Sure makes me wanna get in on that IPO in August,,,,,LMAO!
GITMO will be open for a few more years as his incompetent Attorney General keeps making a fool of himself. No one in the Justice Department has a clue what to do with KLM or any other TERRORISTS we keep attracting. Iran and N. Korea are laughing at us. Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan are a disaster, hell we can't keep any Generals interested in the Obama Rules Of Engagement,,,Ready,,,,Aim,,,,WAIT,,,,WAIT,,,,WAIT. Russia owns us with START as we gave up the Strategic Defense Initiative, and surprisingly the Russki's are bringing back the KGB now. Coincidence?
Yep, if I was a Republican I'd sure be scared with this resume that Barrack and the Liberal progresives will be bringing to the November elections. I left many more failures the Obama-Nation has created or will soon be creating as the "fundamental transformation" of America into socialism continues.
But hey, Liberals keep fighting the good socialist fight.
And most importantly I want to remind all you Liberals to be sure and vote on November 3rd.
When you join the military you give up all your Constitutional rights. That is a fact. What they say goes, period. That wouldn't be so bad if there weren't a bunch of pantywaist libs who prosecute you for doing your job running it.
And G ima (HO)MO,
Typing a lame response is not the same as SAYING IT TO MY FACE, which you would NOT do but ONCE. Of course, I don't expect you to know the difference, being a typical delusional leftist windbag.
If there is a REAL teabagger here it is definitely YOU.
Keep up the fight, huh? Mr. Obama, we are fighting AGAINST you tooth and nail every day here in Central NJ to defeat your radical, leftist "rocket scientist" Congressman. You know, the rocket scientist who can't even add or subtract. One of the few who voted to fund Acorn even after the truth was known. We will fight to the death against you and your destructive agenda.
Ghost, I would love for you to lose your cool just like you probably did during the city hall meetings. I would so enjoy seeing you taken off in handcuffs to go join the general population in jail. It would even be worth a bloody lip.
Greek Prince, go back to Greece. We kicked royals out of here in the eighteenth century. Anyone who thinks the economic recession is the fault of the Democratic Party believes unicorn soup cures cancer. Anyone who thinks the United States of America is even half way to Socialism is ignorant. It's not my fault you geniuses forgot to do your civics reading assignments in high school. Weren't the Bush 43 tax cuts for millionaires supposed to lead to an unprecedented era of growth? He should have listened to his father when he said supply side economics were, "voodoo" economics. The Republican Party is at fault for this economy, lying to America about Sadaam's ties to al Qaeda, and the lax regulation which led to the BP catastrophe. President Obama couldn't have enough terms to repair this Republic. We need both Liberals and Conservatives to make our system work. Neither are going away.
BTW - for the record - our president is Christian.
Correction. He is an ATHEIST.
The Crimson Ghost, is just a scared, little, baby watching and believing everything Beck tells him.
St special ed,
I'm not scared of a little piss ant like you, sweetcakes. And I don't give a damn what Beck says. Alinsky dedicated rules for radicals to lucifer. Go on Amazon and read it for yourself. I did. That's where I found it. Or is Amazon somehow in the tank for beck and the right?
You are desperate, both of you.
You KNOW your time is up in NOvember.
You KNOW Soetoro is a GONER in '12.
So go ahead and spew your bile.
It won't help you now or in the long run.
So cry me a river when you lose and lose by a LANDSLIDE.
I would so enjoy seeing you taken off in handcuffs to go join the general population in jail. It would even be worth a bloody lip.
A bloody lip? Nah, I would never risk contracting HIV.
Besides, you don't get your jaws wired shut from a bloody lip. Now a broken jaw? That's another story entirely. Ever had to suck broth or jell-o through a straw for several months at a time? That tends to make you consider the consequences before running your smartass mouth the next time.
That "racist" charge has no basis in fact, there is no evidence at all, it's simply the far right trying to paint Obama as racist so they can excuse their own racist elements - you know, like the fringe of the teaparty packing signs portraying him as a monkey or with a bone through his nose, and don't forget the head of "teaparty express" that wrote that explicitly racist satire letter in response to the NAACP.
In fact, most of the charges against Obama have no basis in fact, and are just right-wing propaganda. There were no "death panels" in the health plan, and a majority supported all the elements of the health plan when it was explained to them factually, without the outrageous Fox News lies. Apparently, they figure if they repeat a lie often enough and emphatically enough, people start believing it, but since their lies keep getting exposed that technique stops working.
Sorry, but the conservatives have never been in the majority, the "Moral Majority" was neither. The teabaggers are just a small fringe group, complaining about taxes when taxes are at their lowest level in 50 years! Being loud and obnoxious sign wavers does not make them a majority.
The liberals are not a majority, either. What shifts the balance of power is the moderates - sometimes the moderates agree with liberals, sometimes they agree with conservatives. That's why the conservatives sometimes get into power - until their excesses offend the moderates, then the liberals take power, as is the case now. Now if the liberals fail to solve problems, then that would provide an opening for conservatives to gain ground - but the right won't persuade many moderates to support them if they keep up the outrageous lies and propaganda spin.
And I am all white ghost...we already kicked your a$$, thanks for the country. And let the savage in you come out, nothing makes me happier in a fight then someone losing control ... and trust me I have called many people teabaggers to their face, still have a solid jaw...can't speak for them though...lick the Cheetos off your chubby alcoholic little fingers we all know you're nothing ... but a teabagger
TPokeys....."BTW - for the record - our president is Christian."
Hmmmm, you must have missed the following interview with Mr. Obama where he admitted to the World his Muslim Faith (sure is different than what you suggest):
I have some questions. Please know I'm not trying to argue with you, but I've asked these questions on here before, and never really gotten an answer:
The gauntlet has been laid down... we will not stop, we will not be afraid, we will not back down... we are notr concerned or moved by your false attacks and ridiculous accusations...
Who do you mean when you write "We"? What false attacks? What ridiculous accusations?
We are coming to EXPOSE, DESTROY & Undermine with the truth everything the Progressive liberals have done to destroy our way of life... a
What, exactly, have those you call "Progressive Liberals" done to destroy your way of life? What does your ideal way of life look like? How would you describe it?
nd you will soon learn that all those you have called names and set your ELITIST sights on....OUT NUMBER YOU and have been motivated by people who have your number.
Who are these elitists? The reason I'm asking is that my opinion has been that the "elitists" in the US are those in the US, many involved with corporations, who believe that their wealth gives them the right to bully Americans and keep all advantages for themselves.
Obama urges liberals to 'keep up the fight' and stand by him while he continues with all of Bush's policies while the middle class disappears and the top 2% get richer and richer.
When is President Obama going to "take office" and work for the people of the US?.
It is still a darn campaign in Las Vegas, the very city he "dissed" a while back in his speech.
If Harry Reid was such a competent and above average Politician, why would he need O's help?
I can't wait for the real issues to be tackled. Could it be in 2012?
Please, Pres. Obama, stop reading from the teleprompter; look us straight in the eye in your speech, and we will know your comments are from your heart, not a reader board.
Liberals are definitely trying to keep up the fight, but our Liberal President can't change the Constitution or the People's Will, so they will have to take their Ideology elsewhere.
America doesn't want it. Ex President Bill Clinton was a great President. How much we all miss him now.
"That "racist" charge has no basis in fact, there is no evidence at all, it's simply the far right trying to paint Obama as racist so they can excuse their own racist elements - you know, like the fringe of the teaparty packing signs portraying him as a monkey or with a bone through his nose, and don't forget the head of "teaparty express" that wrote that explicitly racist satire letter in response to the NAACP."
Both sides can be accused of using the "racist" remark. I've been called racist by liberals with any criticism against Obama. So neither party is exempt from using the "racist" remark for their own benefit.
"In fact, most of the charges against Obama have no basis in fact, and are just right-wing propaganda. There were no "death panels" in the health plan, and a majority supported all the elements of the health plan when it was explained to them factually, without the outrageous Fox News lies."
I don't agree with the health plan, especially since it mirrors the plan we already have in Massachusetts. It's nothing but a headache here, so why should I believe that it will work on a national level? I know there are no "death panels" but that doesn't mean the healthcare plan doesn't have flaws.
"What shifts the balance of power is the moderates - sometimes the moderates agree with liberals, sometimes they agree with conservatives. That's why the conservatives sometimes get into power - until their excesses offend the moderates, then the liberals take power, as is the case now. Now if the liberals fail to solve problems, then that would provide an opening for conservatives to gain ground - but the right won't persuade many moderates to support them if they keep up the outrageous lies and propaganda spin."
And the liberals won't gain the moderates support if they don't follow through on promises made as part of Obama's campaign. The no more back room politics one was a big one for me when I voted for him, but I haven't seen that one change. Each party still has its own agenda and will stop at nothing to make sure they get what they want. Neither the liberals nor the conservatives can claim they've made strides to work with the other party. It'll never happen.
The second promise is no higher taxes for those making under $250,000. But with the expiration of the tax rebates passed by Bush in January, that's not going to happen. If he doesn't follow through on that promise, I can pretty much guarantee that a lot of independents will swing towards the right.
The big one for me was the passing of the healthcare reform, despite the fact that many people did not want the bill as it stood. I certainly didn't want it. I live in MA, and it hasn't worked out well here at all. I voted for Obama because he campaigned on a promise of change, but so far... I haven't seen much change. It's more of just having the liberal agenda shoved down our throats. That's not change, because when a party has the majority in Congress and the White House, that's exactly what happens. They don't care what people may want, they just go through with their own agenda.
President Obama, I was assaulted while campaigning for you.
If you will stop underwriting and endorsing Big Oil, Big Pharma, Big Agra, and Wall Street, I will "keep up the fight."
You vowed that you would rather be a "one-term president" while fighting for a genuine, Populist, Progressive agenda, than recapitulate the Bush atrocities.
I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation, under God, with liberty and justice for all.
I believe that at heart, President Obama doesn't have bad intentions...people who say he's a 'secret Muslim' and 'terrorist at heart' have that one wrong for sure. He is VERY liberal compared to what we the people first thought of him as, and is trying to run things his way only (i.e. Arizona lawsuit). I don't think that he expected the people to oppose him as much as they have, even to the point of fellow politicians giving up on supporting him. He was grossly unprepared for this job, though not under-qualified. The guy is very smart, you have got to hand it to him, but he would be better off holding his picket sign lobbying for his radical ways outside of the White House instead of in it.
Next time voters, get somebody with some initiative, please.
Watch out for the paid liberals on the wire. Obama's ratings are at 43% for approval...just above his core. The liberal blacks and progressives will support him no matter what, but regular liberals think he's gone too far.

I sure wish one of you smartass commie libs would call me a "teabagger" to my face. You would surely find out just how hard it is to run your mouth with your jaws wired shut.
Sure wish we were face to face. Warmongering right wing nuts will end up in jail where they learn what the name they chose for themselves really mean.
And good lord! Why would you humiliate yourself in such a way?...
I'm a half-breed Indian, special ed. You wouldn't last 5 seconds with me. Piss me off and the savage in me comes right on out to play. And I don't mind being called a savage OR a half-breed. Those are true. Teabagger implies I'm a homosexual, which (much to your chagrin I'm sure) I am NOT. So stop hitting on me.
Have you no pride? Have you heard of homophobia and the basis for it? American Indian? They deserve more. And you should expect more from yourself and respect yourself and the heritage you carry, or at least that part of it. sheesh
If there was any doubt about BO's stance, that should be settled now. As for socialistic, about as close as you can without saying----YES I AM. In the latest Gallup poll, any Republican will beat him, including Palin. That's pretty bad. What that says in "We'll take anybody but him"? Yeah, I'll readily admit that no ones letting Palin anywhere near the Whitehouse.
I agree with most of what Matthew said. I despise Bush. I'd love it if on a trip to the zoo GW fell in the lions' den and got some karma thrown at him. Obama was a sigh of relief at first but it is clear now that the damage Bush has done to this great nation in two terms will be surpassed by one Obama term.
I'll readily admit GWB left BO one of the biggest deficits in history, but he also left him 400 billion of un-used TARP money. I guess that got rolled into the stimulus plan. In addition, BO added to the pie greatly, like about 2-3 times what he was left. Newt made a simple statement. IF BO goes 8 years, highly doubtful, he'll have either spent more money than any President in history or spent more money than all the Presidents in history? I'm not sure which?
There is without doubt, an undeniable chasm within “The Party of NO”, there was recently an exhibition of such lead by congresswoman Michelle Bachman of Minnesota, and this caucus was in essence a “tea Party” formation. About thirty congressional members signed a letter, which I have not the time to present tonight, and when time permits will post this membership. You may easily be able to find the signatories on your own and please post such. Joe Wilson of the “you lie” outburst was on then off then on this list, whether he is on or off as of today I do not know.
My main point is to present my feelings that this Tea Party should start its own political party instead of trying to brow beat moderate Republicans such as my Republican representative. My recent conversation with a staunch Tea Party member has solidified my opinion on this subject, the starting of an official Tea Party political party. My friend referred to my representative in derogatory terms and finally referred to said person in a harsh manner ‘he is only a RHINO” and preceded to express his opinion that a someone more in line with the Tea Party should replace my representative. We have seen something of this phenomenon in the Angell (pardon spelling of her name) elevation as a Republican in opposition to Reid in Nevada. Not good.
I am very satisfied with my representative and would not be with a Tea Party person in this position. We have tended (always to date) to vote Republican locally and Democrat state, except we voted for “the Terminator” and for Pete Wilson. We are not members of ether party and this is just the way we think is best for our state and country. My wife and I may change our pattern at any time though I cannot imagine voting for a Democrat for our local representative. In addition, we voted for “the Terminator” twice for governor and would do so again but he is being termed out. My state is California and though we have substantial financial problems we still manage to be a creditor state and pay more into the national treasury than we receive back in federal money. In fact in terms of per capita revenues paid into The Treasury Department in year 2007 we had revenues of approximately $8,600 per capita (per person). There is much I have to say on this topic suffice it so say I am a strong believer that those “debtor” states must raise their states revenues and stop with looting our treasury and in essence being wards of the creditor states and the nation.
Here is your link to substantiate my post. The official money numbers are for 2007 two years ago and the numbers I have seen but do not at this moment have the link I recall showed California at $365 Billion dollars contributed in 2009, which would be the latest figures.
This is a table of the total Federal tax revenue by state collected by the U.S. Internal Revenue Service in 2007. As you can read the sources of revenue represent a comprehensive list of the of the means by which are national government collects revenues from the states of our union.
Gross collections indicates the total Federal tax revenue collected by the IRS from each U.S. state, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico. The figure includes all individual and corporate income taxes, estate taxes, gift taxes, and excise taxes. This table does not include Federal tax revenue data from U.S. Armed Forces personnel stationed overseas, U.S. territories other than Puerto Rico, and U.S. citizens and legal residents living abroad, even though they may be required to pay Federal taxes.
The time has come to jettison The Tea Party and to stop trying to accommodate this group. This group has already caused elect-able Republicans to be ousted and a Tea Party member running under the Republican party name to be the peoples choice for office. The moderate elect-able incumbent was sent packing. This must stop and unfortunately Mr. Steele does not seem up to the task. The fracturing of the party seems to be an obvious fact yet ignored by the media and our own party (Republican). This unmanageable abnormality seems to be what is commonly referred to as a “dirty little secret” hiding in plain sight. Lets get on with the task take our lumps this year and position the party for 2012 and thus gain the middle independent voters which by any calculation will for the most part swing (as in “swing voters”) to the middle and Democrat party. This should be done sooner rather than later; the party cannot afford to wait.
I think that many of the anti-Obama bloggers here are making up statistics and percentages. If you are going to state "70% of the country opposed healthcare reform" or that his approval rating is "43%" at least have the courage to quote where and when you got the statistics from. Don't just pull numbers out of your *ss or from your blurry memories.
I just heard on the MSNBC Friday his approval rating is currently 51%.
I'll do a catch all here. The term for a 1/2 white, 1/2 black, person is Mulatto. That would be his race on the census. The 4 Republicans matched against BO are Romney, Huckabee, Gingrich, and Palin. Granted, all that could change by 2012. Of the four, the only one not winning is Palin and she is tied with BO. Furthermore, BO is shown losing to an unnamed Republican. These polls would be Gallup and Rasmussen. What these say is this. Presently, the public would rather have anyone else in the Whitehouse other than BO. I never saw 1 poll, not one, that showed the majority wanting HCR. The Dems kept saying they did. They kept saying, "We'll pass it, you'll like it"? Oh, and I heard 51% approval rating also. If BO gets back to the middle, he'll get a lot more support there. Everbody knows this country is middle/right, has been and is. As for 3X better in the second term, 3X0=0. Like the song, nothing from nothing leaves nothing.
Hmmm, for the past 100 years we have been trying to get health care (both sides of the aisle), I guess because these politicians strategies didn't work so we didn't get it done. Historically, 67 percent of bankruptcies in this country list health care costs as the fundamental cause. For 100 years, seems like we've been hitting or head up against a brick wall. Finally this President gets health care passed (Historical). People complain how weak it is, republicans say they will repeal it. During the campaign many people said they wanted it. Finance Reform bill was recently passed. Due to the crisis we find ourselves in it was needed. Many said it was needed, others are saying it's weak. Well, I will give the President credit for getting things done. He has cracked open doors that have been shut for years. Republicans say they are going to shut these doors and repeal. Hmmmm, if people don't quit complaining and get behind this President to push these doors wide open so we can get stronger laws on health care and finance reform, and get job creation bills pass. If not, then I guess we can go back to hitting our heads up against a brick wall (insanity), while America goes over the cliff and continues to get ripped off big time. When opportunity knocks, and you get your foot in the door you are suppose to push through and make it happen (strengthen these laws), NOT allow the door get slammed shut in your face by repeal. Get out and vote the obstructionist out.
Maybe, we just don't want the government controlling every aspect of our lives. The ex-CEO of GE said this----name one thing that the government has run better than private enterprise? Gingrich described BO---like a teenager with a credit card. Wayne Newton said---unprepared for the job he took. He has the majority in both houses and still can't get it done. He doesn't need 1 Republican vote at all to get stuff through. No, he's not that great, not even good. In less than 2 years, he's tore this country apart with his radical views and liberal agenda. We saw where he's going and we don't want it. Not only did the public not want HCR, I don't think the medical industry wanted it either? Nov. is close now. Let's see how it goes?
Ex-Senators don't draw unemployment benefits. They don't get "unemployed." They get hired as consultants, lobbyists, and free lance publicists. They also get publisher's advances for their memoirs and autobiographies. Haven't you heard, even governors leave office 1/3 of the way through the elected term in order to capitalize on better bucks outside the Chamber? They do not stand in unemployment lines. How's that chump thing working for ya?
I too can't wait to end old Harry's reign here in Nevada! We have the highest unemployment rate in the nation and Harry's flooding the airwaves in Nevada with false claims he has created tens of thousands of jobs! It is a crying shame that some voters will believe that crap! I just wish Sharron Angle would kick up her campaign a notch! She has to start refuting Harry's lies about his record and the lies he's spreading about her. Fight back Sharron!
Violence is the last resort of the mentally deficient. You are a classic bully! You lack the ability to communicate adequately and express yourself so you turn to threats and yes, probably violence. I'd be happy to tell this to your face, if I knew who you are. But you hurl your invective from beneath your digital hood. So, you are revealed as a coward.
A coward lacking the verbal skill to debate your points and who lacks the courage of his convictions.
You also understand nothing of the teachings of Jesus. Try reading your bible and having somebody explain what Jesus said and exactly where your train of thought left the tracks. Your heart is filled with frustration and stupidity. You are intolerant of what you cannot understand and so in your world you have STOMP on what you disagree with.
Look at the heading of this post, have somebody read it too you if the words are too long for you to understand. That is my real name and the actual city in which I live. I'm listed in the book and have been for 30 years. My identity is revealed. I'm standing here in the broad daylight and telling you Crimmy, you are a frightened, misinformed and obviously inarticulate coward.
Drop by any time and I'll say the same to your face. But be advised Crimmy, I am your worst nightmare. After 40 years of martial arts and law enforcement training I'm not only a "glib lib", I'm an armed and very dangerous lib.
The one most likely to wake up in the hosptial is you, trying to ask the nurse "Wha' happened?" through the wires in YOUR jaw. Because I DO have the courage of my convictions and the courage to blog under my own name. Unlike you, I don't need a mask and hood to hide behind and I don't need right-wing talk radio or faux news to give me my talking points.
So c'mon big boy. You're so tough. Who are you? And why don't you keep posting and showing us all what awaits us if we ever let you and the people like you in power again. You are my most potent argument. Keep up the good work, you're making Beavis and Butthead look like Harvard Grads.
PEACE (not that you are able to understand the concept)
CM-6969 1.33, I would have to disagree about there being no basis in fact for the "racist" charge. Consider that Obama sought out, liked what he saw, and joined that church with the white hating racist reverend Wright and his black liberation theology. He liked it so much he remained there for over 20 years and only left the church when it became politically necessary to do so.
If a white person had spent 20 years as a member of the Klan then left because of the same reasons, would you think it's because he's had some sort of epiphany and is not a racist?
I can't wait for the Republicans to explain the 1.5 trillion increase in the deficit that they will support in wanting to extend the Bush tax cuts.
I thought the deficits were too high Republicans. I guess not....you'll support the rich at any cost.
So increasing taxes on people that do not have money or work or whatever? Oh yeah that is a good solution. That is what will happen if the tax cuts are not extended.
"Historically, 67 percent of bankruptcies in this country list health care costs as the fundamental cause."
The problem is, this legislation does nothing to address rising healthcare costs. It mirrors what we have in Massachusetts, and since the passing of that legislation the healthcare costs in this state have gone up over 50%. That in turn has risen our health insurance premiums to the highest in the country. And because of this the estimated cost to the state to cover those that are on the state run insurance has risen over $100 million per year since this was signed in 2006. So there goes any chance that this legislation was going to help our state debt, which was part of the original proposal.
So this bill does nothing to address the cost of healthcare, and does everything to insure that those of us that already have it and already pay for it will be paying even more. My company had to switch all of the MA employees from the PPO we had to a HMO (all out of state employees got to keep the PPO) because the cost of the PPO was too high. And yet my premium for the HMO is even higher than my premium for the PPO. If we had wanted to keep the PPO and lived in MA, our premium would have doubled.
And yet, even with the skyrocketing premiums, it's not enough to cover health insurance company costs. The four major healthcare providers in MA all posted major losses because of the regulation by the state. There has been talk about them leaving the state and suing the state because their regulation has cost them so much money, and if that happens, what are we supposed to do? As much as everyone hates the insurance companies, if they go out of business, what are we supposed to do then?
bring it on, ghost. btw. ghost is a good term for you.
we already kicked your a$$, thanks for the country. And let the savage in you come out, lick the Cheetos off your chubby alcoholic little fingers we all know you're nothing ... but a teabagger
I wish to god Obama was a socialist and not in the pocket of big business. If Obama was really a communist, the CEO of BP, the head of MMS, would have been tried and hanged by now. Obama would lay down the law and you would like it, because the only alternative would be to get your head chopped off. Instead, he tries to be nice and reasonable, and he still gets castigated.
America is socialist. Get over it. We have been socialist since the last capitalistic flop of the late 1800s. The FDA, trust-busters, etc. started socialism, and we have never stopped.
For all you teabaggers out there, stop partaking of the socialist state and refuse Mediare, Social Security checks, pensions negotiated by unions, heck, even minimum wage is mandated by the government. Work for a couple of dollars a day. Potholes in the roads? Fix 'em yourself or shut up. Tylenol that has toxins in it? Wouldn't want government to regulate that. BP should be able to spill oil indiscriminately. Wouldn't want government to regulate the, or the banksters, or anyone else. Teabaggers want a first-world nation with third-world government powers. It's not going to happen.
By painting our corporate centrist President as a socialist the right wing has made pretty main stream ideas seem far left, even ideas that 10 years ago were their own...like the individual mandate...but truth is not only is he not a socialist he is not even a liberal...
I know he is playing the long game and giving the GnoP and the teabaggers just enough rope to hang themselves, but I would take 4 years of real progressiveness then 8 years of moderation right now.
Christina - wow...there is a heck of a lot of truth in your post. Allow me to refresh everyone's memories - Rockefellar gave a speech before the house and senate back in the early 1990s about his trip to China and further blabbed on about how China is the greatest country in the world and the US needs to emulate her. Well we are on our way! Multinational corporations know no borders nor do they have allegiance to any one nation.
America, Obama, Glenn Beck, you and me, we are all socialist. Very early our country socialized national defense because we could not defend our country with our rifles and pistols. Later, we socialized retirement. Now we have socialized healthcare.
Some programs should be socialized and we would all agree. That does not change the fact the America is a capitalist society and our success has been because individuals were free to work hard, take chances with their capital, and enjoy the fruits of their labor, or go down in flames when their ideas didn't work.
Socialized programs always come at a cost. The cost is the loss of opportunity for individuals and the financial burden to taxpayers. We now have way too many social programs and way too much debt. If we keep doing this, we will fail as a nation. It is time to scale back the social programs and pay down some debt.
Facts--I agree with you that we need to scale back social programs and pay down debt. Unfortunately, Republicans cut taxes and spend, and Democrats spend money while not raising taxes. If Social Security were to be made solvent, the age to receive SS checks and Medicare would be 76. No politician is going to do this until we are broke (China won't lend us any more money) and we have to face grim reality. Not until then.
Capitalism is a good idea; however, do we really want to go back to the unregulated 1800s, when catsup was toxic, you didn't know what was in your food (read the Jungle by Sinclair), there was no minimum wage, people died in factories because the fire escapes were locked, etc. The labor movement was violent, but it addressed real issues. Unfortunately, after the issues were addressed, the unions went too far and tried to get paid for not working, or having someone there to push a non-existent button.
Moderation is the key to everything. Capitalism should be moderated by social justice. Social justice shouldn't be the excuse to sue everyone for everything. Unfortunately, in this deflationary depression, polarization and conspiracy theories are the name of the game. Things aren't going to get better any time soon; presidents don't control the economy--social mood does, and social mood is on the way down. Obama, quite possibly, could be remembered as the second Hoover. He has nothing to do with this; he is simply in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Political party does not matter to me. I don't argue which party is more right, or more wrong. That is a waste of time. The point of my post was that we are a capitalist economy that supports government social programs and that there are too many social programs, and too much debt.
To say that capitalism is a good idea and then imply that being a capitalist society means toxic catsup is absurd. I didn't say that I was for non-regulation. Regulation is necessary for social programs as well as capitalist economies. Lack of regulation is not the result of being a capitlalist economy. Lack of regulation is the result of regulators not doing their jobs.
"Unfortunately, Republicans cut taxes and spend, and Democrats spend money while not raising taxes." If it were this simple, you'd get a glass of milk and go to nap time. How can you type this? Socialism? Socialism is complete government control of production and distribution of resources. We are completely too far away from this in America. Christina, it would behoove you to actually understand the context of such blanket statements.
So the libs plan for Nov is to paint Obama as a right winger, I am sure that is going to work with the independents. Good try but it will not work. Try painting the Tea Party racists that is not working either as more people relate with what the Tea Party is saying, another good try. See you in Nov.
Facts--capitalism, according to Adam Smith, is the absence of any government interference in anything. If you want to sell toxic catsup, a toxic mortgage, you can. It is purely buyer beware. The balancing fact is that while you can sell a toxic product, you either will go out of business because people will either stop buying from you, or you will kill your customers. So, I can make a ton of money throwing red paint into sludge and calling it catsup. Either people wise up and stop buying my product, or I kill everyone and have no more customers. That's capitalism. No safety net, no regulation, it's the invisible hand of the market.
Socialism has varying degrees. The U.S. has a mild sort of socialism. There is government regulation in that a product cannot kill its consumers. The government doesn't actually decide which products are produced. This is left to businessmen. The government won't let you sell toxic catsup, thereby inhibiting your earnings, but if you want to sell green catsup, that's up to you.
European socialism is heavier. The government taxes heavily, but provides a wider safety net, college education, housing subsidies, government health care, etc. You can sell catsup, but the government is going to more heavily regulate what goes in the catsup. No aspartame, because it becomes benzene in the body. The consumer is protected without much thought on their part.
Communism is an extreme form of socialism. Everything everyone does must be for the good of the society. If you do not act in the good of society, you are either reeducated or killed. The government, of course, directed by the party, gets to decide what is good for society. If you sell catsup, it is because the party has decided that it is needed, and if you sell toxic catsup, you are due for a speedy trial and death sentence. The melamine scandal in China resulted in a few CEOs getting the death penalty. Conversely, if there is money to be made in catsup, but the party decides that it is unhealthy or unneeded, you don't get to make money.
Communism, total control Capitalism
China Europe US No regulation
What we have in America is mild socialism with a twist. Corporations reap the rewards, government provides the safety net if something goes wrong. Corporations do this by campaign donations and by incorporating overseas to avoid US taxes. In this scenario, a corporation can make toxic catsup because the regulatory agency is weak or misses something. The government provides survivor benefits for the families, takes the product off of the shelves, maybe steps up regulation. The company may or may not go under. If, however, like the wall street bailout, failure of the corporation will cause wide spread societal damage, the government steps in and saves the corporation.
This is what outraged many Americans about the wall street bailout. Our bubble was burst; we thought that if you made bad business decisions you failed, not got bailed out with a bonus on top of it. In a true capitalistic society, the banks would have gone under, there would be no FDIC to back up any bank failures, and if you lost your life's savings, oh well. You should have researched your bank more and known that it was in trouble.
The BP disaster is a timely example of this. BP makes huge profits off of weak regulation; when the disaster hits, it's government that provides the social safety net as far as coordinating efforts, providing unemployment, survivor benefits, health care to the ill. BP will pay for the spill, but in the meantime, the government is there to assist. China is dealing with an oil leak right now--let's see who's head rolls.
If you are a representative of the Far Left Wing of the Democratic party, you have no credibility. It's over. Just talk, and no action.
All of America is protesting, being forced to swallow all the lies, coverups, and Government run Programs, also taking over Corps and Businesses of which the Admin knows nothing about using "fiscal restraint. It's right out there. Poll numbers show, including ABC, NBC, CBS, and yes, MSNBC.
Easy to sit from your easy chair and quarterback about how our country should be run, but in fact, you know nothing about the real America and Americans; land of the Free. It's a little world for you.
What we have in America now is a plutocracy. The rich individuals and corporations get what they want, as far as tax breaks, regulation, etc., and the rest of us are screwed.
We did have capitalism in the mid-late 1800s. Business did whatever they wanted to, were answerable to no one, and left carnage in their wake. Catsup was often had red paint in it because corporations decided that tomatoes were cutting into their profit margins. It was all right to work on a skyscraper without a harness. If you died, you shouldn't have taken the job. No matter that there were no other jobs around. The labor movement was violent for a reason. Corporations liked doing whatever they wanted to, and resisted organized labor by killing people, bullying them, spying on them, etc. Labor went overboard when they negotiated things like getting paid for not working, not letting obsolete jobs go away, etc., but there was a real problem that they originally faced.
Obama is nowhere near being a communist. He is the mildest of socialists. He has done so much for big business it's not even funny. Bailout with no bonus or pay restrictions? No problem. The tax rate is nowhere near the 80% it was for the wealthiest under Eisenhower. We were prospering under Eisenhower, remember? There are no tariffs in sight to make American manufacturing more competitive.
The reason Republicans lower taxes and spend is that they lower taxes for the wealthy, and then they proceed to spend money on government contractors. Health care for the masses, etc., is not a priority. The Democrats, because they are beholden to these same wealthy people and corporations, don't raise taxes, but they raise spending for domestic programs. Both actions blow the deficit sky high.
I think that we should start by taxing the corporations by enacting tarriffs. Do you want to make a product cheaply in China? Ok, but we are going to tax the hell out of your product once you import it to pay for the unemployment, retraining, etc., of the community you left behind. Do you want to incorporate in Dubai, UAE, Switzerland, the Caribbean to avoid taxes? We are going to tax your US profits wherever your headquarters are. End subsidies for big oil. Big oil has plenty of incentive to drill. They don't need encouragement from the government. Do you want to have your rig registered in the Marshall Islands? Ok, but we are going to inspect it anyway.
These actions will not have adverse effects on legitimate, needed products and corporations. The rest will adapt or go away.
Obama has changed more policys for the better of the American person than any other President. He was saddled with 2 wars collapsing economy, Wallst and the banking Industry calamity, and he has still gotten alot done. 10 years of republican nonsense got us into this mess , I can hardly think that 18 months will get us out. Lets all redouble our efforts to keep Democrats in Power, the 2nd term should be 3x as better than the first
don't bother with the troll...he never voted democrat..he is just saying that to give himself some kind of credibility...
No one, and I mean No one, who ever voted even once for a democrat (even the old ladies who hate Obama but loved Hillary) would push the ALL republican button...atleast not un-medicated.
Agree, blindly voting a straight ticket for either party is fairly ignorant. It's pretty hard to find a ballot where every single person on one side or the other is the best person for the job. Do a little research on each candidate on the ballot and use your votes wisely
I thought a troll is someone who writes comments on the internet in an effort to get a response from other readers. If you were the only poster on here and there is nobody to read it, would you waste your time. Ah Ha, you are a troll too.
If there ever was a time to vote straight ticket Republican, this is it. We cannot take any chance of the Democrats holding on to Congress. After Republicans regain Congress, then we can keep an eye on them and vote them out if we are not satisfied in two years.
No one, and I mean No one, who ever voted even once for a democrat (even the old ladies who hate Obama but loved Hillary) would push the ALL republican button...atleast not un-medicated.
Au Contraire knowitall,
I voted straight Democrat up until 2000. Then I swapped sides of the aisle. There was NO WAY I would ever vote for a piece of garbage like Al Gore. Kerry is a traitor. Obama is a commie. Run somebody who isn't a radical leftist, terrorist sympathizer and I MIGHT vote for him. But all these progressives in both parties HAVE to go.
But he hasnt fulfilled any of his campaign promises. I'll vote of him again just because I think he will eventually help the people with their mortgages and credit card debt. I wish the health care started sooner but at least I got my UE check to help for now.
Crimson, stay on their ass. Most of the rest of us are with you. Those who aren't are the looneys you wouldn't want anyway.
Folks, we need to vote these fools out this Nov while we can still save our country. Socialism has never worked and I'm getn real tired of supporting the lazy.
The administration has to start fighting as well. Public option? Closing Gitmo? Don't ask, don't tell? Getting out of Iraq, Afghanistan? Naming the Armenian genocide a genocide? Infrastructure? Reforming MMS? All of the Monsanto goons in the Ag Dept.? Throwing Shirley Sherrod under the bus because Glenn Beck, the modern-day Aimee McPherson, was going to talk about her?
When the administration stops bending over for the Republicans, then I'll do something. Until then, not a penny. Not a single volunteer hour. I didn't vote for Bush Lite, and that's what I'm getting.
The Republicans managed to do a whole lot of damage to the country with a whole lot less votes in both the house and senate. The Republicans never had 60 votes in the senate, yet they managed to pass tax cuts, a war in Iraq, the patriot act, the doughnut-hole medicare prescription mess, etc.
Obama has been taking the left for granted, and now he's trying to make nice for the midterms. F that. You get me some hope and change, and I'll get fired up. Until then, leave me alone.
Seriously, how hard was it to do Medicare for All? Pelosi is the only Democrat who is worth anything at this point.
I don't want to pay for your health care. You do realize that every working American pays Medicare taxes that are being spent as fast as they come in to pay for those currently on Medicare. Hope and change. Well I hope that come November, we have a change in the majority party and come 2012 we have a change in the person currently occupying the Oval Office.
Keep in mind that Obama had the benefit of majorities in both houses. They could have passed anything they wanted without a single vote from republican. So, your claim that Obama has catered to republicans is nonsensical.
Your comment are exactly right "Go USA", what has barely slowed down obama and his anti american agenda, are all the polls showing that Amercans do not want socialism. PS Christina, your nancy pillosy is the least intelligent person I have ever seen.
This is exactly my point. He had majorities in both houses and he couldn't get anything done.
As far as health care--don't even get me started. Obama rolled over on the public option before the Republicans indicated that they wouldn't back it. Remember the gang of six? Watering down all the health care proposals, only to not have a single Republican vote for it? Hell, Republicans won't vote for the legislation that the co-sponsored, like Graham and the climate change bill. The visual of the Republicans not clapping at the State of the Union when Obama mentioned tax cuts was priceless. If Obama says that cyanide is bad for you, the Republicans would disagree just because Obama said it.
I hate to rehash the whole health care thing, but bringing in a younger, healthier premium-paying population into Medicare would have made it much more solvent. Medicare for All isn't free--if I have to buy health care, I would rather buy it from the government than some health care goon whose only concern is to deny my claim to save the company some money.
Obama had his majorities in the house and senate--he blew it. Just remember, you teabaggers just might get what you wish for. Less regulation, more oil spills, more bank failures, more unemployed without benefits. Enjoy.
Christina - Man I thought you had some common sense and rational thought processes and gave you kudos on one of your earlier post. Girl - Socialism does not work----look around you and name one socialist country that has a GDP above two Pesos a year? The US to some degree is a command economy or a modified free enterprise soceity and look what thas given us....generations of welfare bums. Real Unemployment is close 30%...we only measure unemployment based on people actively looking for a job. Since the 1970s large masses of people have just dropped out and take government checks.
Actually, I have never done drugs, unlike the shrub. Pelosi at least has the courage of her convictions and is willing to fight for them, unlike the administration, Reid, etc.
would you prefer the lunatic right be in control? once upon a time I refused to vote party lines, but now I'm afraid that even a moderate Repub would cave to the bullying of the crazies in the party and throw the whole country under the bus. If the left doesn't get out the vote, this is what will happen, and we'll all be down the toilet
Christina, yeh and so did Hitler and Stalin. That does not mean that their convictions were worthy or moral. Pelosi, Reid and Obama are all mindless leftist radicals that want to turn our country into a socialist country like France. The people that support these policies are the ones that hope to benefit from "a redistribution of the wealth." I suspect that most liberals that support Obama are either terribly naive idealists or worthless welfare recipients that live off of the government.
If you are really Greek, and know your countries recent history, you must know that your family back in Greece have been worthless welfare recipients since WWII. But thanks for theatre thats been goood for New York City.
Wade White, the Greek side of my heritage were legal immigrants at the turn of the 20th century. Other relatives of mine were English and signed the Declaration of Independence. I do not support the socialist government in Greece. I have no family back in Greece. I do take offense at your unfounded criticism and would be happy to settle it with you anytime.
--if I have to buy health care, I would rather buy it from the government than some health care goon whose only concern is to deny my claim to save the company some money.
So Christina,
You'd rather have some government bureaucrat deny your claim for the same reason instead?
I suspect that most liberals that support Obama are either terribly naive idealists or worthless welfare recipients that live off of the government.
Or both. I'm with you Greek.
I do take offense at your unfounded criticism and would be happy to settle it with you anytime.
Still with you old buddy. These big mouth libs have it in their empty skulls that they can pop off and say anything they want and once we beat them down they can just have us arrested. What they don't seem to fathom is that when we are released in a matter of hours we will return and REALLY dash them into the dust.
When you idiots think you want to play with the rest of us, we're ready, willing, able and WAITING for you.
Say it with me--there are no death panels. The rationing of health care is done now--if you have money, you get health care. If you don't, you take your chances with an HMO or hope you don't get sick. This is reality.
I worked for medical billing, and medicare was much more rational than anything the HMOs could dream up. There was one set of paperwork, one number to call, and yes, there were screw ups, "losing" paperwork, but saving money so that the CEO could meet his stock price to get his big bonus wasn't an issue with Medicare.
There was one set of paperwork, one number to call, and yes, there were screw ups, "losing" paperwork, but saving money so that the CEO could meet his stock price to get his big bonus wasn't an issue with Medicare.
Because the taxpayer pays for it all, once everyone is on it we will not be able to pay for it and then there will be rationing or as they say "Death Panels". I have no reason not to beleive this. The President also said Abortion won't be paid with federal tax dollars and it is already starting in Pa. Nice try but the government sucks at running everything. They are not bussiness people.
Sigh--You would pay into Medicare, just like you would your health insurance premium. If you don't want Medicare, you don't have to get it. It's not free, but it's better than the crap the HMOs are giving you.
Kirk--if you look at my posts on 2.15 and 2.17, you will see that there are socialist economies that have a decent GDP, or at least had one before this recession. The EU is socialist--they are in a better position than we are financially.
I agree with you that unemployment is at a way higher number than the 10%. I think it's closer to 20 and rising, but it will eventually get into the mid-thirties.
Countries that are socialist, but have a strong manufacturing base and that are fiscally conservative, like Germany, are in a decent financial situation. America went downhill in the mid-70s because that is when we started losing our manufacturing base. 1976 is when Japan enacted tariffs against US automobiles, and it's been downhill from there. This is also when Nixon took us off of the gold standard to pay for the Vietnam War. Fiscal discipline and a strong manufacturing base is the key. There are no more purely capitalistic societies anymore--it's mostly socialism of varying degrees.
I would disagree with you on the saving money part. If I, as an insurer, can deny your cancer claims, then I make money. HMOs don't want to cover any illness. They will fight paying money tooth and nail. If they have to pay, they will, but will increase your rates until you drop their coverage. "Losing" paperwork means that they can deny the claim because you theoretically did not submit it in time. It's a pretty common tactic.
Look, I'm all for corporations making profits. This is why things for the public good like trains, health care, metros, etc., should be maintained partly by subsidies because these things will never be profitable.
Socialism can only remotely work in SMALLER populated and homogeneous countries. That is about it. It will not and cannot ever work in the US, as you know, not with our overpopulated and heterogeneous country.
It is working in Norway, but the population of that country is 4,676,305 compared to the US which is 310,232,863. Also Norway is vastly homogeneous, the country is 95% Norwegian so it barely has any other ethnic groups.
Progressives aka Socialists/Communists as literally Progressive is the PC term for those words are dumb as hell for thinking this country can even come close to being a socialist nation. It will turn into a deadset mess and probably another uncivil war.
If you had read my post in thread 2, you would note that I said the US is mildly socialist. A heavier dose works for Europe, but I would agree with you that the US is too large and diverse for for European-style socialism. This is why different countries have different forms of government.
We are already mildly socialist. Obama might take us a little bit more to the left, but not by much. America is really going to go to the left once this recession deepens and you have a massive worker's revolt. Remember, it was fashionable to be progressive/communist in the '30s.
Since 1954, a Democrat wins a term in the White House for every 3 Republican terms. If history is consistent, the next Democrat president will be elected in 2024.
The only people that is dump is you stupid racist tea baggers trying to start another civil war becasue you are upset that a black man is running this country which belong to black as well. Get over it because he is here to stay. No body in their right mind want any of you racist tea baggers no near Congress. Peace my white brother!
You can ignore history, but you can’t ignore this week’s Gallup Poll which has the president’s job approval rating at 38% among independents and 16% for the Congress. Remember Obama needed 69% of the independents to win.
Jobseeker - nice post...Obama is not a black man...he is a guy who has milked the system just like his momma and his two daddies. None of those people had jobs either.
Gwen, you are a racist white hater. Get over it and knock that big black chip off of your shoulder. Obama is half white. He was raised by white grandparents. We oppose his agenda and policies because they are socialist and freedom destroying. Not because he is black. I will choose to ignore your posts. Your posts are ignorant racist rants and do nothing to promote racial harmony in this country.
Hey JOBSEEKER, no republican would've been able to handle the problems that exist today if they occured in 1954. LOL!!!!
What was the worst that happened back then, a nutty cubano shouting "boo!" with his rockets. The ones that made him out to be pure evil where the American citizens with their 'jumping at shadows' mentality. Even Castro had military advisors that told him not to launch. The US scared its self over him along with "War of the Worlds".
There wouldn't be a single politician from that time that would jump in the chair of office. They're shouldn't be a republican trying it now or at next election. In fact, they need to shut up, stop interfereing with democracy, and get the h^ll out of the Democrats way so our problems can be fully fixed and not the US citizenshaving to live with partial solutions.
Isn't it interesting that when someone says this country belongs to its black citizen, too, the right calls that person a racist? This is a textbook example of the right's definition of racism ... anything that threatens the dominance of white, Christian males.
Read Gwen's words. Claiming a person is upset because the president is black without knowing anything about the person is what most people would call racism. As far as I can tell, most comments are about the issues.
If the GOP gets back in there may not be a next generation. "The mission may not be accomplished". There are some big boys out there (China, Iran,Russia) who won't sit by and take America's @!$%#.
2024 is a pipe dream, especially if they manage to somehow force Obama's "immigration reform" (a.k.a. amnesty) on America. Also remember, we haven't even begun to pay back the mountains of debt being created, nor the $trillion+ cost of his healthcare takeover. In 2024 our taxes will still be drastic, and everyone will know why. I give it 2040 if the party still manages to exist, most likely they will have to re-brand themselves with a new name or be relegated to a fringe side-show party.
Well, don't forget that over 70% of the national debt was accumulated under just 3 presidents:
Ronald Reagan, Bush Sr., Bush Jr.
Clinton actually managed to run a surplus in his last year in office, but Bush Jr not only spent away the surplus, he also managed to double the national debt! Funny what 8 years repeated tax cuts for the rich and an unnecessary war can do.
Sorry, but "borrow and spend" conservatives are a lot worse for the economy than "tax and spend" liberals, when you add up all the resulting debt and interest charges.
Why are there mostly all Collapsed Comments on this board re: Liberals keeping up the fight?
I don't understand the screening here. Many of my sane comments never get posted.
It would be better to delete them before they "hit the board" for discussion. What is the purpose for Freedom of Speech, and then Censorship after the fact?--Agreed many are malicious and vile, but some are just plain, old sincere feelings about the articles presented.
The huge amount of votes for these Collapsed comments tells all.
SAtownMytown, The Cuban missile crisis occurred on Kennedy's watch in about '61 or '62. Reagan walked in on a recession far worse than thus one. 10.7% unemployment, 17% inflation, and 20% plus on the prime rate in '80. That was a double dipper and he did handle it. As far as being inthe Dems way, the Dems have control of both houses and a Dem President. They must be stumbling over their own feet? Eisenhower's major issue was the Gary Powers U-2 incident and he was there '52-'60. Had JFK lived, had LBJ not got tied up in nam, had RFK gone on, it might be entirely different today---it would be. BUT, here we are. Ted couldn'tcapture the charisma his brother's had and Mary Jo Kopechne would have haunted him forever. BO got in there because he was better then McCain. He'll leave there because most folks want anybody but him.
Here's a few readily available, you can look it up, facts. In 8 years, GWB had 3,011 trillion in deficit spending and raised the national debt 4.3 trillion. In 2 years plus the projection for 2011, BO has 3.5- 4 trillion in deficit spending and in 2 years through 6/2010 has raised the national debt 3.2 trillion. All you need do is look at year by year deficit spending and national debt. By far he has the highest deficits of ALL Presidents and has raised the national debt more than all others. Some say GWB ran the place into the ground; well, BO is finishing the job. He, in fact, is the greatest spender of all time. If you're like me, I say show me what we got for the money?
If you are refering to my question in 5.24, I asked what freedoms have you lost. The spending issue is a different argument.
I say show me what we got for the money?
You could argue we still have a functioning economy and financial system. We are also not in the 2nd Great Depression. Millions of Americans have access to health care where they had none before. Middle class Americans now have a place at the table with the financial reform bill signed where their interest can be protected. The list goes on and I think overall the changes are good for the America I believe in.
You may not like or agree with any of this. You will certainly be able to voice your displeasure in November.
Obama urges liberals to "keep up the fight". Because he sure as hell isn't going to. While I would never ever vote for a Republican, the O-man has turned out to be one major disappointment. Unless Sarah Palin runs in 2012, I think Obama is going to be a one-termer.
You hit the nail on the head. He either has to fight or get out of the game, this turn the other cheek act will have the same effect it did in the 60's, the prospect of a major A$$ kicking.
That is the most vacuous post I've read considering what you are proposing, I suppose to ask for specificity would be asking to much of you. Just to post a statement as that without even an iota of substance to lend credibility to such a post is a prime example of posts, which clog up the vine and are nothing more than the desire of a person to see their words in print. Adolescence at its most childish stage, it is specific crimes and misdemeanors which congress needs to appoint a special prosecutor to gather the evidence to even start and bring to the floor a motion to start the impeachment process. You waste space with empty posts, as do the others, which are non-starters. If anyone is to be tried for crimes I suggest you look to the coward Dick Cheney, coward in chief as someone that could use a trial
Well of course we have to keep up the fight, My God, look at the alternative, putting the cretins that almost destroyed the country back in power or worse, putting a pack of naive bigoted extremist wannabees into power.........can you even imagine what would happen to the country under the rule of PALIN?
You stated the most important reason why Republicans won't regain control of the House or Senate. Win a few extra seats? Maybe, but that's about it. Lets see if their "Just say no policy" continues after the midterms.
You need to come up with some new excuses Gomer...Bush has been out of office for nearly two years...Obama owns this economy whether you like it or not.
Sometimes saying "No" is the best answer for an out of control fool running the country...
I can't wait until after November. In fact, I have tagged your call name to remind you of how wrong you are now and were when the repubs take over congress and maybe the senate....
At this point, much like bush, it's anyone but obama and those who support his failed policies...
PVperson, I suspect those above who are saying Obama "lost" their votes are trolls just trying to boost the Repub party line that the right is gaining ground. They like to tout polls, but you will notice they don't mention the 6 point lead over Repubs that Dems have as of today. People are dissatisfied and want a faster recovery, but MOST people are intelligent enough to recognize that we can't rebound from Bush's boondoggle overnight. But for some reason, the Right doesn't feel confident enough in the validity of their position to spout it without claiming a "majority" for themselves. You would think if they truly believed their position was what's right for the country instead of just in their own interests, they would be proud to own it even when in the minority. So why the poll twisting?
I have spoken with many persons who voted for this stooge, and many of them regret it.
When small business owners who voted for him find out how bad he has screwed them through the health care nghtmare, well let's just say they will get theirs.
I'm one of the independents that voted for Obama and now regrets it. I've always been left leaning in my voting, but I actually voted Republican for the first time in the special Senate election in MA, mostly in an attempt to stop the healthcare reform. It didn't work, but I haven't regretted that vote.
Did anyone really expect things too just instantly get better?! This country is a juggernaut headed for the rocks FULL SPEED under Bush and the GOP. Once more they did on purpose robbing the average citizen on the way, laughing all the way, counting their money and leaving us for doomed. And in their greed they still want to do more harm! That is why they obstruct everything. They use their mouth pieces to promote racism and call it socialism to make it sellable, and use their conservative blogs to spread misinformation. At least Obama has a workable plan (for those who bothered to read his book to understand a bit of the REAL world.), and it is not going to be all "instant mash potatoes". This is a major rebuilding process, and at the end of it, I believe we will see everyone who works finally get ahead. But it cannot be done without assuring the rights of consumers, workers, and small business.
Sorry pal...Obama's "buiding process" ends in November 2012...and I wouldn't expect much of his agenda to be passed after this November when the good guys take back the House and probably the the Senate...
I suppose it's relative...at this point I'll accept anyone who is not a radical left wing nut case like the guy in office now...he makes Hillary Clinton look like a Republican...
LOL Left wing is radicals but the right is what? Oh that's right the right is just fair and balanced like * Fox New* and friends.. good one! Thankfully ,the left has common sense and knows that the tax breaks of Bush and Reagan years did nothing but start this mess. President Obama never claimed he could clean up their sorry mess in less than 2 years. The job loss bleeding has stopped. The banks screamed for regulations. GMC and Chrysler are rebuidling now because of this president. Go back to the Grand old party ideas and see how quickly we tank again. Give this administration time to do their job and enough with the teabagger nonsense and ridiculous right wingers try to sabotage progress.
Everyone that was in favor of Bush when he stated the recovery from the recession was going to be 'hard' and 'take a long time'. Despite the fact that bush didn't have to run our country to the ground to begin with. But he did anyway.
Now, not only has a Democrat taken charge, it's a BLACK Democrat, and this so called patriotic nation is in an upraor. NOW THEY CARE ABOUT OUR COUNRTY ? ! ? ! How in the name of G*D, is the republican party supposed to be in the right about this ?! Obama hasn't said nothing different about the recession. In fact when he won the election the first thing he said was that it was going to take alot of work, but he's sure we will get there. "Yes We Can". remember?
To all you lousy f*cking liberals out there, quit your f*cking b^tching and keep the f*cking dream alive ! ! ! ! Keep Obama in office ! ! ! ! and vote D-E-M-O-C-R-A-T ! ! ! ! The republicans have done nothing but spit on every that was put on the table and has brought nothing to a solve our problems. Nothing! In fact the only thing the republicans have done in the past is throw more restrictions to our laws. The last time they ran the country they took privelages and benifits, charged and fined the American citizens, and lately, they haven't done a d^mn thing for this country execpt spit.
Keep fighting ! ! ! ! The Democrats will keep working on their end (reguardless as to wether or not their any good at it), we have to do our part on our end. Because, it's no surprise, the republicans won't do a f*cking thing.
I didn't and don't expect much from the Republicans, but I expected more from Obama. Bush came out and said, hey, I'm an idiot but I've got these experienced people around me. Rightly or wrongly, that was who was elected. Like Franklin said, you get the government you deserve.
So, say I go out and pound the pavement to get voters. What do I say? Yeah, he promised the public option, but we caved. He promised to get us out of 2 wars that we can't afford to fight and shouldn't be fighting anyway. We'll get around to that. Don't ask, don't tell? Not yet. Heck, even a simple declaration that the Armenian genocide actually happened (yes, he didn't have to get anyone's vote, he just had to risk ticking off Turkey) was too difficult. Closing Gitmo? We didn't close Gitmo, and now we ship people to Bagram, it's much more politically correct.
What has Obama unilaterally delivered on that he promised in the campaign? Zero. Give me just one thing that Obama has unilaterally delivered on, that he didn't bend over to the Republicans for, and I'll go fight for that. No, Bo doesn't count.
Corsair977- "the republicans do nothing, for a reason"
IRRELEVANT ! ! ! ! did you see what you just typed? "the republicans do nothing" That's just it, they're not supposed to be doing nothing! Especially when the country is so close to being in ruins! The republicans are supposed to be doing everything in their power to keep us secure, and they haven't done a thing! Not a f*cking thing. Wake up, man! and grow up while you're at it. Justifying their laziness with some bullsh*t excuses AND don't come up with any solutions to our country's problems at the same time. Please, man! Wake the f*ck up!
"special"k - "the 'good guys'??? You really think there is a good and a bad side in politics??"
Any politician supporting the massively wasteful bailouts and "stimulus", supporting forcing through a healthcare takeover against the majority of taxpayers, supporting suing their own country's citizens in favor of foreign criminals is clearly bad.
Hey It wasn't that Obama didn't do what he promised, remember its congress that dragged it around and yes obama should have pushed them harder, but it wasn't like he didn't plan to have it. He still accomplished much more in two years then bushes, reagan and clinton did. Clinton did got surplus, but Obama got 1.3 Trillion in deficit from bush and had to spend more to keep us alive. but some here don't want to here truth anyway
If you voted for Dumbo because he is black, then you are an OVERT RACIST!
If I voted for someone strictly because he is American Indian, the same could be said of me.
BTW, I represented all Indians who support the TEA party, Latinos represented all Latinos who support it and Blacks represented all Blacks who support it at our local TEA party rallies here. And don't kid yourself, WE EXIST. I suppose we are all racists like the"white folk" who represent what ALL of us in the TEA party nation support? FAIL.
This isn't a racial issue so stop trying to turn it into one, it won't work.
maksim--I don't want to hear about how Obama tried, etc. The question is, what election campaign promise has he unilaterally delivered on. Just one.
Bush said he was going to lower taxes. He did, even if it increased the deficit, even if not everyone agreed with him. He pushed his agenda, rightly or wrongly, through.
If you don't deliver on your campaign promises, then people start to think that you are incompetent or that you were lying to them.
Your should hear what the military is saying about the President. Obama is a narcissist that is a pawn in the hands of the banks, here and abroad. He'll promise anything to anyone, just as long as they're paying attention to him. When he's had enough "rejection," he starts "we inherited this problem." In final analysis, we the taxpayers will pay dearly.
Gee, they could easily have been saying the same thing about Bush Jr. three years ago. But then the military is supposed to serve and support whatever president is in office. Our elections are not decided only by what the military wants (thank God).
Corsair, your boy Obama is anti-military and pro Muslim. Anything he did for the military was because of the input from the Secretary of Defense Robert Gates and not because of his affection for the military. He is as big of a supporter for the police as he is for the military. He has the typical black opinion of the police as discriminating against blacks (just because they are the cause of a disproportionate share of the crime committed) and this fear? hatred? of police spills over to the military.
armyblue- the military is too busy trying to keep us safe, even you fool. Pease don't try to speak for our troops. You hardly seem the person to do that when you should know better than that. A true soldiers dream is to serve the country no matter who's running it.
Greek Prince- you could be more racist if you stated Hail Hitler in your message. If Obama really had an outlook at cops the way a 'thug' or 'gangsta' does, no one would've put him in office. No one. You need to take your speeches and racial opinions to a white power website, sir. Keep in mind if you really are greek, you'll need to careful or else they'll(nazis) find you and show you their bias viewpoints. sucker.
papabran, you "live near" two bases and you think this gives you grounds to call Memory's statement into question?! You must use the same kind of logic that the Repubs use to say they have a "majority" when their approval ratings are the worst ones out there! I ALSO have family members in the military, as well as MANY veterans (ours is a "military family") in my family too. Almost to a person, they support our president. They recognize that he is making the best out of a bad situation, and greatly resent the obstructionism of the right. So stop speaking for people you have no real knowledge of. Living near a base does not give you insight into "the military" because it is NOT made up of one mass of like-minded people. You're confusing it with the borg-like Republican Party.
Do you really think troops enjoy fighting for someone who joins hands with Mexicos president to criticize their families back home? Do you think they like knowing that while they are risking their lives to make this country safer Obama is suing their families and friends to keep our borders open and neighborhoods filled with illegals? It's not exactly inspiring to say the least, and climbing military suicide rates reflect it.
President Obama greeted a foreign leader and addressed a shared concern over Arizona's bill and its potential for misuse. Of course, since it's Obama, ANY courtesy is "bowing and scraping" according to the right. (Should I assume that people on the Right lack any social graces? Is this why they can't seem to understand accepted social protocols?) That hardly constitutes a criticism of military families. Nor does the state department's suit equate with suing military families. You are dishonestly reducing a very complex issue to try and bolster your claims about military leanings. Again, I will pose the question: if you are so convinced that the position of the right is good for America and NOT just good for the right. why do you feel such a need to claim a majority status, when the very polls the right loves to spout qua Obama's ratings clearly indicate that American voters - and this includes military voters - are growing weary with the negativity and obstructionism?
Corsair, I think you did not fully understand my comment. It was not directed at you. I was using your comment as a sounding board on why Obama hates the military. Our boy Obama is your president and mine. I was not criticizing your comment. I'm sorry if you took it that way.
The Military represents a cross-section of the country, with all races represented and the entire political spectrum from conservative to liberal. So, of course there would be some that grumble and kvetch about a liberal commander-in-chief, as well as some who fully support the President.
As for the "Obama hates the military" claim, there is no evidence for that whatsoever, it's just another one of the GOP/Fox talking points lies. But just keep repeating it like a mantra, and soon the sheeple (or at least the right wing sheeple) will start to believe it. Propaganda at its most basic.
Lets remember that Obama said that our military was bombing villages and terrorizing women and children....He has to live with his stupid statements...
Liberals have as much right to fight for legislative policies as conservatives have to block them. And vice versa. No one side is more American than the other. Neither side is completely correct. They just have differences of opinion on what we need to do at this time in history to secure our future. The real truth lies somewhere between liberalism and conservativism. The best thing we could all do is elect moderate people to public office of either party who are willing to work across the spectrum to come up with sane policies that will benefit the most people. This is what I pray every day Americans will wake up and do in November. But if my home district in Kansas is any indication, we will not rise to the occasion this time.
It really is the center that holds the most political power, but unfortunately the far right and far left don't see it that way. Some conservatives really hold to the delusion that they are in the majority, but they never have been, they've only gained power when they could appeal to moderates.
Don't give up on your home state, Leigh. The political fringe may be loud and obnoxious, but they're not as numerous or as powerful as they pretend to be.
I am more ticked off than anything. Just because I voted for someone and support them doesn't mean that I check my intellect at the door. Obama's great, he's not going to fix the economy anytime soon, and I don't blame him for that. I would like a little spine and less doormat posturing.
Corsair--all presidents have to be good at the bull feces. It's part of the job description. Obama is a caring, intelligent man. He can pronounce "nuclear." He doesn't dumb down the issues to the voters. He is actually trying to govern, rather than run the eternal campaign. Notice, unlike the shrub, that he doesn't call his political opponents traitors and that he tries to talk to them. Obama isn't trying to lie us into a war while cutting VA funding and opposing the new GI bill.
Obama's main failing, if you can call it that, is that he too reasonable and not partisan enough. You can't reason with someone who doesn't want to be reasoned with. If your political opponent isn't fact based, and no one can accuse the Republicans of that, nothing you say or do will sway them. Heck, the revisionists are trying to sell the "fact" that Bush kept the country safe, 9/11 not withstanding. If we can't agree that Bush was president during 9/11 there's not much else to discuss. Not everything is a conspiracy.
By the way, what exactly are we taking our country back to? Segregation? Jim Crow? Slavery? Women denied the vote? Back-alley abortions? No pesky OSSHE regulations so that workers won't have a reasonable expectation of not getting killed on the job? Genocide of the Native Americans?
I am really curious about this. I would really like to know what we are supposed to go back to. Any takers?
Corsair, you're assuming that the conservatives represent "the will of the people" when that obviously isn't the case. "The will of the People" voted in the Democrats and President Obama, they wanted a change from the conservative "borrow and spend, tax cuts for the rich" agenda.
Now, since there is political polarization in this country, there is no way Obama or any other president could govern without going against and upsetting some people, and it certainly is not reasonable to try and please all of the people all of the time. Bush couldn't do it, Reagan couldn't do it, so it isn't surprising Obama isn't doing it either.
Ok--the will of the people was indicated during the election. If more people agreed with the Republicans, they would have voted for them. They didn't, and Democrats won both the House, Senate, and White House, with overwhelming majorities. End of story. This was the will of the people. You had until Nov. 2008 to convince people to vote for you, and you didn't.
Now, can you clue me in as to how far back we are supposed to take our country? What time period do you envision?
The Who's "Won't Get Fooled Again" would be a great campaign song for whoever runs against Obama in 2012. I just hope it's a deserving candidate. I voted for Obama and I regret it more and more as I observe each debacle unfold. I just hope the damage isn't irrepairable.
I'm sure all those Dems in close races appreciate the words of encouragement from the most incompetent president in history. You won't see another Dem in the White House for many, many years.
The right wing nuts have nothing but their mouth. They have been running their stupid mouth for the last 2 years with the same talking points that every body is starting to get sick off. Republicans and their tea baggers have nothing to offer the American people but lies, hate, fear, and their stupid talking points that it.
I'm sure all those Dems in close races appreciate the words of encouragement from the most incompetent president in history.
Not likely, since the one historians list as "most incompentent", Buchanan, has been dead for many years. But if you are thinking of living presidents, well, I rather doubt Bush Jr. would be offering words of encouragement to Dems.
howitzer - Check the election results of those democrats he has actively campaigned for or proclaimed support for. You won't find many republican arses getting kicked. I don't see that trend changing anytime soon.
The constitution clearly states that congress has the right to borrow money. Please stop assuming what the Constitution says and read the actual words - you might be surprised.
Back in the '90s the GOP made a big deal of their "Contract with America", but almost none of it actually got implemented. When the GOP got to be the majority party, suddenly "term limits" looked like a really bad idea, after all. Their "balanced budget" amendment proposal fared even worse, for 6 years the Republicans controlled Congress and the White House under Bush Jr. and they produced the most un-balanced budgets in history, and by adding 4.5 trillion, the national debt nearly doubled in size. They had their chance and they blew it. Lets face it, the GOP will never implement a "balanced budget amendment" as that would require big tax increases on the rich - and they never go against the rich.
It's really kind of sad to see Democrats being more fiscally responsible than the Republicans.
CM - Didn't the Dems make a big splash recently with "Pay To Go" or some such crap?? Didn't they start to disregard it immediately?? You bet they did, gotta support that liberal spending........
The "Contract for America" is what made Cliton's presidency so successful. It was, IIRC, when congress veered from it that in Cliton's final year, the economy started to sour.
Change isn't coming fast enough? Any more of his changing and our country will be thoroughly ruined sooner. The Dem's aren't gonna lose seats cause He's doing a bang up job that's for sure!
First let me remind everyone who was in congress the last ten years THE DEMOCRATS.That is why this country is in such bad shape. Congress is the body that really runs this country with the president as a figure head.So if all you libs want to keep blaming bush go ahead. You only have yourself to blame.
Oh chirstina let me remind you bp is home based in england not the u.s.a. and you must be as sharp as a bowling ball.
BP has a head of US operations, like any other multinational corporation. I know that BP is British (hence, British Petroleum). By the way, the Republicans were running Congress from 1994-2006; that would be 4 years ago, not 10. Bush and his Republican Congress managed this mess all by themselves from 2000-2006. By the way, 9/11, the anthrax attacks, etc., were on Bush's watch.
Well, the Republicans were also in Congress for the last 10 years, too, in fact both parties have been "in Congress" for over a century. But the Republicans gained a majority in both House and Senate in January of 1995, and retained that majority until January 2007, that's 12 years. During the last 6 of those years, Bush Jr. was in office so the GOP controlled it all, Congress and the Presidency, and the GOP lost control due to their disastrous mis-handling of the economy and nearly doubling the national debt.
Hey Christina......you need to remember something......9/11 may have happened on Bush's watch.......but the "facts are" that Clinton had several opportunities to take Osama Bin Laden out during his presidential term. While working with the Pentagon and the CIA....they knew where OBL was and could have pulled the trigger on him.......had they done so........9/11 would not have ever happened..........So who is to blame??? Clinton was too busy with Monica and his Cigars. Give Bush credit for keeping us safe during his 2 Terms! Also, all those Democrat Senators that you love and the Repubs that you hate.........they all voted to go to War in Irag.......including Obama as a "Junior Senator". Saddam Hussein was the worst "weapon of mass destruction" He murdered thousands of his own people..........it was good to go to war there just to take him out!!
Also, go back and look up the "Community Re-Investment Act" take a look at how Sub Prime all got started........with Democrats.......Jimmy Carter.......and then Clinton.........keep reading.......even Obama got involved.........and then ask yourself why the mis-handling of the economy is the way it is!!! Dodd is involved and so is Frank and many other Democrats who got private loans through Fannie & Freddie for Million Dollar Homes. Take a look at how Obama got the money for his Home in Chicago??? Do you really believe his hands are clean?? Open your eyes and do your own homework..........and I don't mean The Fox Network.........but if you don't watch Fox.........then don't watch MSNBC or NBC........go to the Library..........read all about it........
Hey Cm : What are you talking about. I did great this past decade. The economy was on fire for most of it. It's not my fault some roughly 20% couldn't handle their checkbooks and bought home, cars, tv's they couldn't afford. This meltdown has everything to do with decades of consumerism run amok and the piper came home to collect. Both parties and largely...the American public are at fault for all this over-spending that has now caused people to balance the books which in turn slowed growth. It was decades in the making. Now, Bush like all the rest spent too much. Now Obama has come in and one-up'd Bush. Bush was a poor president. Obama at this point is a total & complete failure.
BTW : During Bush's presidency, I could'nt hold one conversation with someone who hated Bush & didn't complained to high heaven about all the money he was spending. It ALWAYS was part of the comment about him. So, I ask all that support Obama...WHY SO QUIET NOW? The silence is stunning. Anyone, speak up about this point & try to explain.
Yeah, one and a half years and Obama still hasn't fixed all the ills of this nation. WTF is he waiting for? Let's bring back the good ol' Republican party that has all the answers. They've been so helpful so far, too, and so cooperative, too. They fixed everything during the previous eight years before Obama came along. Everything was so perfect during 2000 - 2008. We fought expensive, illegal, needless wars, we lost whatever respect we had from our allies around the world, the rich got richer, the poor got more desperate, and people died or went bankrupt for want of health care. It was perfect. Paradise. Yeah, f#*ing right.
Maybe geniuses like Sarah Palin will work their magic and bring us to the promised land. Let's elect her.
Many people seem to have very, very short memories.
Maverick83702, "Mr. Reid... it'll be a real pleasure to see you in the line for unemployment benefits early next year."
Hey, maybe he needs a gardener or dog walker Maverick, you should apply, assuming you can pass a drug test now.
it's always great to see some moron needlessly worried about others.
Or, in the case of liberals, some moron pretending to be needlessly worried about others. BTW. Reid wasn't even remotely wealthy until after he got into congress. Isn't it amazing what passing a few bills that you directly benefit from can do to your bank account, right Harry?
There, there.. don't you go worrying now, soon it will ALL be over! We only promise to continue making fun of you people until Nov 2012 if Obama manages not to resign before then.
Google" EU says vacations are a human right".They will now pay for people to take vacations in the EU.Wait til Obama hears this and implements it.Next,he'll realize Americans shouldn't have to work either to live.Problem with that is,where will the tax dollars come from.Yeah, these Socialist policies are only limited by the taxes they can collect .Robama Hood, robs from the working Middle Class and gives to the poor welfare class, his constituents..
Seriously can we stop sticking to political parties and pick people that have a heart for keeping America the best country in the world. Both parties have screwed us up. We need people in office that won't cater to anyone but do what is best for America as a whole. Seriously Obama straight out lied about his healthcare indicating that it would end up costing less and this was debunked by the Health and Services Department which is not catering to either party. He knew this before it was voted on but didn't say anything as well as the Dems. How much more do you libs want the rich to pay? Many of you are already Rich: Al Gore, the Clintons, John Kerry, et....I don't see them volunteering to give more to Uncle Sam but they want us all to do it. Hipocrits and look a the huge houses they live in, the extravagant vacations they take, flying on private jets, etc. Tell us how to live and then do the opposite. The Republicans screwed it up to as to not keeping an eye on the financial markets and holding them accountable. Much of the mess we encountered with the real estate market was caused by the government not just financial institutions as the goverment forced them to loan to people not typically eligible for housing loans so that the statistics could look good for the government. This was started under Clinton and carried forward by Bush. You idiots out there who believe Government is the answer will soon find out that it is the root of most of our problems and eats up more money than the private sector to buy off the poor. What the poor don't understand is that this little amount of money keeps them trapped. It is time to clean house on both sides of the isle.
I agree with your post and it is an excellent post. Did you hear about John Kerry....a great liberal man with a desire to help the common man. He just about a $7 million dollar boat and he didn't want to pay the taxes in his home state MA so he purchased the boat in RI and parks the boat in RI - - John Kerry is a closet conservative. He in a sense denied his constituents close to $600k in tax revenues off his purchase of that boat.
whoknew_899304- you seem to have lost a lot of faith in the system. you have a 'its hopeless' kind of viewpoint to your message. I've got some advise that explains the situation here. How we got this way. why and how its staying this way. Keep in mind we've subconciously always voted this way. Its using our better judgement.
You ready? "Always vote for the one that uses the l*be."
Bush was prez cause Gore was a wuss. Clinton, cause Bush1 sucked. Bush1, cause Dukakis, please! Dukakis? Yeah right! Today it's Obama because, good at it or not, he's trying to right the wrongs. And will keep trying even if he runs into every brick wall on the way, the way he does today. So if you take a step back and look at it, he's the one that's using the l*be the way he's supposed to. Sure you got a lot of trolls the spit "he's not", but if you take a step back, he's got trolls at him in every corner. Not even Clinton could survive this much heat of today, and he's been in heat every embarrassing step of the way. :)
Don't you think they'd be eager to overturn a law requiring bad loans? But they are not, because the Government has never required banks to make bad loans, some banks did that on their own. Now, there was a law enacted by Congress and signed by Jimmy Carter that banned "redlining", the practice of refusing to issue loans in certain ethnic neighborhoods, but it did allow banks to take income and credit-worthiness into account, and it requested the banks to make loans in a fiscally prudent manner. This law continued under Reagan and Bush and Clinton and Bush Jr., the Republicans didn't even consider trying to cancel this law.
No, some banks made sub-prime loans on their own, with rising real estate it was extremely profitable even if they had to foreclose - until the real estate bubble burst and prices collapsed. Other banks considered it too risky and didn't make such loans, and avoided the meltdown completely.
But the Government isn't completely without fault - in their zeal to deregulate, conservatives made it easy for banks to make high risk sub-prime loans, and also make dubious "derivatives" from those high risk loans and sell them as if they had no risk.
During the "lame duck" session after the Nov election, you will see the rejected Dems cynically passing legislation that will insure that you're children will be slaves. America will finally see who and what these radicals are, alas, too late. Shockingly, there was never a single word of warning from the slow-witted Repubs. No patriots, no Paul Revere's in that brutish lot, only cowardly, self-interested sell-outs who will NEVER be forgiven for standing by while the American people were wronged. Lindsay Graham, McCain, Olympia Snowe, Suze Collins, "Porky" Barbour and other RINOs in their axis of evil will be a historical footnote about liars, traitors and treachery.
Of all the crazy accusations that have come out of the lunatic fringe of the Tea party, this has to be the most ridiculous and the most over-the-top.
Here's a clue: the reason why those you label "RINO" are actually willing to talk to Democrats is that the Democrats are not really evil. Just because somebody disagrees with you doesn't mean they are out to enslave your children, that's just your paranoid delusion speaking.
These liberal ideas don't work, that is why Europe told him no!!! No middle ground with this socialist, not only is he a piss poor president he is rude, yes he insults Americans, now some he kisses their asses, some of us he could care less about. I say this mr. president become the national leader, not the leader of the socialist party, we can help the poor and we are, but we need to do it in a way where we eliminate this need for people to rely on the government.( this is a generational problem and it will grow with people like obummer because they just lay out the money and could give a rat's ass about the law abiding citizens in this nation) As Mr. T says your all a bunch of fools, if you believe this guy has the answers, he is sacking our future with his Leninist ideas.( Include Marx and Engels of course you liberals have never read the book)
Hehehehe, I love the left on here running for cover, or trying to stand pat, blaming EVERYTHING on the past administration. Lefties, you took something that was broke, after Bush left his supporters high and dry and turned into a quasi liberal, and broke it even more, this mess is now your problem, 100% yours. Some one here says that Pelosi is the best thing left, wow, takes some guts to make that statement, Miss Facelift has been the single torch driving the deficit higher and higher, I bet ya she thinks her own wallet is just as deep. The left is beginning to get swallowed by a very angry LEGAL, American public, who she continues to show disdain for. M'aam, quit while you are behind, your condescending attitude towards the publis that supports you is making them sick....................................your next on the chopping block! Good Riddance, Mis Socialist!
Well if your house burned to the ground and you lost everything then you would blame the culprit who was guilty of the crime even though you had a new house now right?
Maybe I'm the only one out there who cares about this, but Obama lost me with his ramping up of the "war on drugs" (an incredibly expensive, failed government program that only succeeds in stripping adults of their free choice). I put that in parentheses because it is really just a war on non-corporate drugs, marijuana being the mostly widely used one. He lied about his medical marijuana policy (yes, his DEA still raids clinics in CA and his justice department still puts state law-abiding citizens on trial). And his drug czar's proposals for drug (marijuana) control are more draconian than president Bush's were. On top of that, he has nominated Bush's DEA chief to continue heading the department. I don't expect any politician to come out for the ending of prohibition, no matter how much money it wastes, but he is moving in the wrong direction. Again, this doesn't seem to concern too many people; I get that, but it should because it reveals a basic philosophical position of his: big government over the individual freedom of adults in a free society.
Hey--Prohibition ended when the government realized how much money it was losing to the mob over lost booze taxes. Same with marijuana. When the government realizes who much it empowers the drug mafia and how much money it is losing, unofficial prohibition will be over.
The illegal drugs right now were legal back in the 1800s. Heck, there was an opium rub that you could put on your baby's gums when it was teething. People who don't do drugs now won't if drugs are legalized; those who do still won't be able to go to work or drive high. Those who do drive high do so now even though it is illegal.
Mr. Reid... it'll be a real pleasure to see you in the line for unemployment benefits early next year. Take a number chump.
Maverick83702:
Lmao.
Nice Glenn Beck talking point. Too bad it isn't true, but I'd bet you don't let facts get in the way of your opinions.
Um no, state and federal economic policies in place for decades have done that. Again, I'm sure in your eyes the country was perfectly fine until Jan 2009.
Where exactly is it close to 18%? I want several examples since you claim it's this way in many areas. FoxNewsLand and LimbaughVille don't count.
And put who in, the GOP? They're just as bad, but Beck will never tell you that...
Correction:
And put who in, the GOP? They're much worse, but Beck will never tell you that...
Geek prince,
See there you go trying to paint him as a liberal because he voted on a couple things in the Senate, the senate... ? which we all know is the most conservative branch of government.
GMOsucks:
Thought we were going to drop the Racist crap. If not - don't forget about the Browns kicking the ladder out. Must really irritate Blacks. Look at the unemployment figures - Blacks are getting ripped by Obama.
I sure wish one of you smartass commie libs would call me a "teabagger" to my face.
You would surely find out just how hard it is to run your mouth with your jaws wired shut.
And BTW, NEVER confuse a threat with a FACT.
Did any of you dopes actually read the dedication inside your copy of Rules for Radicals?
Alinsky dedicated it to his father and yours...
lucifer.
LIE LIE LIE
Ok Ghost,
Whenever you're ready...teabagger!
And Matthew,
We are already socialist...ask anyone in the military
GMOsucks, I will be right there with you.
The Crimson Ghost, is just a scared, little, baby watching and believing everything Beck tells him.
If there is a REAL teabagger here it is definitely YOU.
me too!
It would even be worth a bloody lip.
what a scared little tea-bagger.
Why no mention of his disgusting, pathetic, self-serving lawsuit against Arizona?
I don't know why B.O. bothers saying anything anymore, everyone just wants him gone.
Your just a frightened poor soul. Get out your reruns of Beck and you might feel a little better when your fantasy world returns.
Correction. He is an ATHEIST.
WE will remember in NOvember.
bring it on, ghost. btw. ghost is a good term for you.
NOvember is coming.
It tolls for THEE.
So, I will consider the rest of your post comments as completely irreverent and untruthful.
Derek V:
I have some questions. Please know I'm not trying to argue with you, but I've asked these questions on here before, and never really gotten an answer:
Who do you mean when you write "We"? What false attacks? What ridiculous accusations?
What, exactly, have those you call "Progressive Liberals" done to destroy your way of life? What does your ideal way of life look like? How would you describe it?
How much we all miss him now.
elections must be coming the left wing luns. are out in force spredding their hate and filth. The country never runs well when one party has control.
CM:
That's just the same old, same old to me.
I will step up if you step up.
Dear Mr. President,
To borrow a nice tune from Twisted Sister:
Stop f-ing up this country, Mr. President.
Sure wish we were face to face. Warmongering right wing nuts will end up in jail where they learn what the name they chose for themselves really mean.
And good lord! Why would you humiliate yourself in such a way?...
Have you no pride? Have you heard of homophobia and the basis for it? American Indian? They deserve more. And you should expect more from yourself and respect yourself and the heritage you carry, or at least that part of it. sheesh
Even the liberals are realizing that Obama is "All talk, no action".
He's so afraid of making a decision that he let's Pelosi and Reid take the lead in everything, and the results are obvious.
Obama knows how to campaign, but he's worthless as a leader.
Start Your Own Party – Please do so ASAP

Good Night……………………
I can't wait for the Republicans to explain the 1.5 trillion increase in the deficit that they will support in wanting to extend the Bush tax cuts.
I thought the deficits were too high Republicans. I guess not....you'll support the rich at any cost.
Dear Crimmy,
Violence is the last resort of the mentally deficient.
Eric-913730--
So increasing taxes on people that do not have money or work or whatever? Oh yeah that is a good solution. That is what will happen if the tax cuts are not extended.
That's the change we could all support.
I have no love for Harry, but Sharon Angle is a real nut job and she scares me.
4RealLyn:
As much as everyone hates the insurance companies, if they go out of business, what are we supposed to do then?
gwen-482936, you're suspended for a week for violating #1 of the Code of Honor - repeatedly.
The Crimson Ghost was already banned today for multiples.
Cut it out, TPokeys. See above. And below:
stspecialk, and GMOsucks, don't take the bait. You're each suspended for a day for violating #1 of the Code of Honor.
Lots of comments restored.
What Obamy really means, ' Socialists keep trashing America', keep following the Communist manefesto.
.... would you puhleeeeze stop repeating everything Glenn Beck weeps about?
If I want to hear that nonsense I could watch his worthless show. I can think of much more informative sources than Beck.... Spongebob comes to mind.
Great post Christina, I agree 100%..
Christina,
Political party does not matter to me.
Lack of regulation is the result of regulators not doing their jobs.
bodo1152,
I am curious. What point or points in Christina's post are you agreeing with?
"Unfortunately, Republicans cut taxes and spend, and Democrats spend money while not raising taxes." If it were this simple, you'd get a glass of milk and go to nap time. How can you type this? Socialism? Socialism is complete government control of production and distribution of resources. We are completely too far away from this in America. Christina, it would behoove you to actually understand the context of such blanket statements.
the real so called Communist in this country is the Republican Party, full of hate and the party of NO!
Thats cute Harold..would you like to echo any more of the usual (yawn) tired rhetoric from the United Fascist Party (aka..RepubliBaggers)?
So the libs plan for Nov is to paint Obama as a right winger, I am sure that is going to work with the independents. Good try but it will not work. Try painting the Tea Party racists that is not working either as more people relate with what the Tea Party is saying, another good try. See you in Nov.
Crimson - 3 Stspecial - 0
Yes, We will remember in Nov!!!!!!!!!!
Rick:
Lets all redouble our efforts to keep Democrats in Power, the 2nd term should be 3x as better than the first
Sorry sez, no help from this guy. After a 22 year absence from the Republican Party, I have returned to cast my vote for ALL Republicans running.
jobseeker, that is the most ignorant way to vote that is possible.
No stspecialk, ignorant is voting for the same party every time. For 22 years, I have given other parties a chance.
but to choose to vote for someone just b/c of their party affiliation is just lazy!!
sts,
don't bother with the troll...he never voted democrat..he is just saying that to give himself some kind of credibility...
GMOsucks
I thought a troll is someone who writes comments on the internet in an effort to get a response from other readers. If you were the only poster on here and there is nobody to read it, would you waste your time. Ah Ha, you are a troll too.
If there ever was a time to vote straight ticket Republican, this is it. We cannot take any chance of the Democrats holding on to Congress. After Republicans regain Congress, then we can keep an eye on them and vote them out if we are not satisfied in two years.
sezme you da dummy.
what did he get done? that makes me laugh, he gets things done, LOL!
And I am UN-medicated.
And when he is GONE, WE will undo as much of the destruction he has caused as we can.
Dems are dodos in NOvember.
Great, Great, Great
But he hasnt fulfilled any of his campaign promises.
Socialism has never worked and I'm getn real tired of supporting the lazy.
budlite-1 banned, one comment and it started with that. First rule, folks.
Christina: Pelosi is the only Democrat who is worth anything at this point.
...all those years of recreational drug use finally caught up with ya, Chrissy...
Enjoy.
Obama, anti-american??? Whatever. . . First I bet you are a birther, and second I bet you have no actual clue as to American history.
So Christina,
You'd rather have some government bureaucrat deny your claim for the same reason instead?
Unbelieveable.
Or both. I'm with you Greek.
So go ahead and make our millenium, lemmings.
Medicare for all! And free health care. How about living assistance. Also, I could use a new car!
Christina,
There was one set of paperwork, one number to call, and yes, there were screw ups, "losing" paperwork, but saving money so that the CEO could meet his stock price to get his big bonus wasn't an issue with Medicare.
Kirk-1020827--
Socialism can only remotely work in SMALLER populated and homogeneous countries.
You can fight, but you will only get defeated and crash tired.
Good riddance liberals.
We will see you in a few years when the next generation gets as dumb as the ones who supported you.
Funny. I heard that same crap throughout 2007, how did that work out for ya con?
Since 1954, a Democrat wins a term in the White House for every 3 Republican terms. If history is consistent, the next Democrat president will be elected in 2024.
since 1954, wow a whole 12 terms, what a huge sample size... duh!!
The only people that is dump is you stupid racist tea baggers trying to start another civil war becasue you are upset that a black man is running this country which belong to black as well. Get over it because he is here to stay. No body in their right mind want any of you racist tea baggers no near Congress. Peace my white brother!
gwen, I am upset over the white half of the president.
gwen's a hater...just do a read of all her postings..
stspecialk
Gwen, there is NOT a black man running the counrty.
He is no more black, than I am white.
And as far as RUNNING the country, yes he is.
RIGHT INTO THE GROUND.
Isn't it interesting that when someone says this country belongs to its black citizen, too, the right calls that person a racist? This is a textbook example of the right's definition of racism ... anything that threatens the dominance of white, Christian males.
spiritdance
Read Gwen's words. Claiming a person is upset because the president is black without knowing anything about the person is what most people would call racism. As far as I can tell, most comments are about the issues.
jobseeker, too bad that in many cases Gwen is right on.
Lets see now 2010 minus 1954 is equal to 56 years, right?
Then 56 years divided by 2 the number of years between the election of representatives is equal to 12, huh, must be more of that liberal math?
Well, don't forget that over 70% of the national debt was accumulated under just 3 presidents:
Ronald Reagan, Bush Sr., Bush Jr.
Clinton actually managed to run a surplus in his last year in office, but Bush Jr not only spent away the surplus, he also managed to double the national debt! Funny what 8 years repeated tax cuts for the rich and an unnecessary war can do.
Sorry, but "borrow and spend" conservatives are a lot worse for the economy than "tax and spend" liberals, when you add up all the resulting debt and interest charges.
Clinton "inherited" a surplus.
And "capitalized" on it.
That is all.
Presidential Elections, dummy!
Some one has to bail out our asses every so often. It's ashamed we don't learn from our mistakes and quit electing the Republicans.
What freedoms have you lost under Obama?
Nobody seems to be able to answer that question but many are quick to assert freedoms are being lost. That argument is old, tired and not true!
Stan,
If you are refering to my question in 5.24, I asked what freedoms have you lost. The spending issue is a different argument.
Greek Prince, next time do the second sentence before writing either. You're suspended for a day for violating #1 of the Code of Honor.
Obama urges liberals to "keep up the fight". Because he sure as hell isn't going to. While I would never ever vote for a Republican, the O-man has turned out to be one major disappointment. Unless Sarah Palin runs in 2012, I think Obama is going to be a one-termer.
Who else does the Republican party have???
Anyone will do.
Even me.
MichaelBo
You hit the nail on the head. He either has to fight or get out of the game, this turn the other cheek act will have the same effect it did in the 60's, the prospect of a major A$$ kicking.
Michael - "I think Obama is going to be a one-termer."
Wow, you are observant.
Maybe the new Congress will start impeachment proceedings in January and we won't have to deal with him for even ONE whole term.
We could only hope! His bad Socialist experiment on this country is over.
The Crimson Ghost- Do you actually thing Biden would be any better? I believe we'll probably be stuck with Obama until 2012 or more accurately 2013.
Start Your Own Party – Please do so ASAP

Good Night……………………
crimson ghost -
That is the most vacuous post I've read considering what you are proposing, I suppose to ask for specificity would be asking to much of you.
Good Bye..................
Well of course we have to keep up the fight, My God, look at the alternative, putting the cretins that almost destroyed the country back in power or worse, putting a pack of naive bigoted extremist wannabees into power.........can you even imagine what would happen to the country under the rule of PALIN?
PVperson,
You stated the most important reason why Republicans won't regain control of the House or Senate.
PV--it would be a hell of a twitter and facebook account. Amusing to say the least. Can you say refudiated?
I am not going to laugh, (too hard, anyway) when come November, liberals disappear from the face
of this vine for a while.
Yes, keep fighting! We can keep printing money for another few years at least!
Crimson:
I'm one of the independents that voted for Obama and now regrets it. I've always been left leaning in my voting, but I actually voted Republican for the first time in the special Senate election in MA, mostly in an attempt to stop the healthcare reform. It didn't work, but I haven't regretted that vote.
Magnolia - It felt refreshing, didn't it??
Sorry pal...Obama's "buiding process" ends in November 2012...and I wouldn't expect much of his agenda to be passed after this November when the good guys take back the House and probably the the Senate...
the 'good guys'??? You really think there is a good and a bad side in politics??
"Republicans" DO NOTHING, for very good reason.
There are no viable alternatives given by the liberal party.
I am NOT republican, but rather conservative.
I would have said NO too!
If you are going to do something rational, then I will say yes.
So far, Obama has done NOTHING rational.
(but he does rationalize quite a bit)
Right on, Russ Kissell ! ! ! !
Agreed, Memory-800098! To your whole message!
Christina
Hey It wasn't that Obama didn't do what he promised, remember its congress that dragged it around and yes obama should have pushed them harder, but it wasn't like he didn't plan to have it. He still accomplished much more in two years then bushes, reagan and clinton did. Clinton did got surplus, but Obama got 1.3 Trillion in deficit from bush and had to spend more to keep us alive. but some here don't want to here truth anyway
Try again, race-baiter.
FAIL.
This isn't a racial issue so stop trying to turn it into one, it won't work.
lol! obamas "workable plan" --> http://www.usdebtclock.org/
maksim--I don't want to hear about how Obama tried, etc.
Fact be known, the military personal respected President Bush. Still do. They considered Bush a true Commander and Chief...
They have absolutely no respect for obama and consider him a threat to their lives and success...Certainly not a Commander and Chief...
You may not like it, but obama is not well recieved by our military personell, much like most americans these day...
Most of the military didn't have jobs before he took office, that's why they joined the military, so who's responsible for that?
I have five family members in the military three whom are officers and they praise President Obama and support him totally.
The military can never support a liberal president.
The only reason Obama got ANY support from any fool in the military is because he promised to
send more troops and better equipment so they could fight the wars.
(and he did)
But, under extreme duress from his own party.
This is the ONLY thing I will give him credit on.
BUT, he did it under advice.
(he was TOLD to)
Memory, I find that very hard to believe. I live very close to two military bases and I don't find what you are saying to be the norm.
Keep in mind if you really are greek, you'll need to careful or else they'll(nazis) find you and show you their bias viewpoints. sucker.
Geek Prince.
Read what I wrote again.
Then you can apologise.
papabran, you "live near" two bases and you think this gives you grounds to call Memory's statement into question?!
I understood, Greek Prince.
But, Obama is NOT my president.
I don't vote for presidents.
And for good reason.
In America, your vote for a president will never count, (DOES NOT COUNT), until the electoral
college system is abolished.
I DO vote for every other office in this Nation where my vote does count.
Obama is not "MY BOY".
Speak for yourself Greek.
NEVER.
Propaganda at its most basic.
of course obama loves the military! part of his strategy is to use them against the people. its the only way to become a dictator.
armyblue, you speak for the whole of the United States military? Wow, you're a pretty important person. Moron.
You know, he didnt say that now did he? Go back and read his post. Why put words into his mouth? Is that all you have for an argument?
Answer this question, truthfully: Would the best & brightest of our country respect a conservative or a liberal?
Then, say what reason you have that supports your answer.
The difference is: libs fight to take my money, while conservatives fight to let me keep my money. Note that I didnt say democrats/republicans.
Cut it out Christina, you are making sense and we can't have that on Newsvine.
I am more ticked off than anything. Just because I voted for someone and support them doesn't mean that I check my intellect at the door. Obama's great, he's not going to fix the economy anytime soon, and I don't blame him for that. I would like a little spine and less doormat posturing.
Amen to that
Obama is great as a bull@!$%# artist.
(really good)
Other than that, how is he "great"?
Any takers?
Chistina
I you hit nail in head, I couldn't say it better, Thank you
How can you call going against the will of the people "reasonable".
"Any takers"?
Fail.
be a man, stand up for you believe in, not what anybody wants you to believe, fool.
I'm sure all those Dems in close races appreciate the words of encouragement from the most incompetent president in history. You won't see another Dem in the White House for many, many years.
Actually, I think Obama is the SECOND most incompetent president in history. George W. has the first slot in that list all sown up.
The right wing nuts have nothing but their mouth. They have been running their stupid mouth for the last 2 years with the same talking points that every body is starting to get sick off. Republicans and their tea baggers have nothing to offer the American people but lies, hate, fear, and their stupid talking points that it.
Hey Gwen... guess you're right...only the Democrats can offer us Socialism/Communism...
Thank God that threat will be over in Nov...
Leigh, I think you meant Jimmy "Peanut Head" Carter as the 2nd worst president of all time.
Right on gwen_482936!
osamaobama- you need to know what you're talking aboutbefore star typing, sir.
YES, thank God.
Not likely, since the one historians list as "most incompentent", Buchanan, has been dead for many years. But if you are thinking of living presidents, well, I rather doubt Bush Jr. would be offering words of encouragement to Dems.
"I'm sure all those Dems in close races appreciate the words of encouragement from the most incompetent president in history"
When did GWB offer words of encouragement to the Dems? Must have missed that.
10010....How incompetent are the republicans? Obama kicks their butts every time.
howitzer - Check the election results of those democrats he has actively campaigned for or proclaimed support for. You won't find many republican arses getting kicked. I don't see that trend changing anytime soon.

The constitution clearly states that our goverment can not spend more then they tax us. NOT ......MAYBE NEXT TIME !!!!!!
What memory? I don't see Republicans nor Tea Party people using that part of their brains as of yet. Maybe someday. LMFAO!
LMFAO! I like the post
H^ll yeah! Like this post +1 more!
Thanks folks and it's good to see sarcasm isn't lost on some people.
"sarcasim" - where is my free health care?
In your front right pocket! Feel for it!
Still empty. What happened to the obama promises?
Maverick83702, "Mr. Reid... it'll be a real pleasure to see you in the line for unemployment benefits early next year."
Or, in the case of liberals, some moron pretending to be needlessly worried about others. BTW. Reid wasn't even remotely wealthy until after he got into congress. Isn't it amazing what passing a few bills that you directly benefit from can do to your bank account, right Harry?
Dear Progressives,
There, there.. don't you go worrying now, soon it will ALL be over! We only promise to continue making fun of you people until Nov 2012 if Obama manages not to resign before then.
XoXo
In the words of the youth today, LAME!
In the words of the forum chatters these days, FAIL!
In the words of an American who loves his country - Kiss My A$$ libs!
Gonna run another relic from the 30s and a brainless twit in 2012? Worked out real well for you last time around.
You Betcha
Better that the "Change" we cant live with!
I think he heard it wrong cause he thinks it says Presidential vacations are a human right! He's taken enough of them now!
No scheisse, I heard he's preparing to take the Meech and family to Florida now.......
Obama is urging his fellow Democrats to keep up the fight and war against America and Americans!
whoknew_899304- you seem to have lost a lot of faith in the system. you have a 'its hopeless' kind of viewpoint to your message.
And your evidence is.... (cue crickets)
Tax and regulate.
