Your premise is faulty. All of the wages and income belongs to the private sector not the government sector. We allow the government to take some (taxes) but we do not work to serve the government . Revenues to the government rose during the previous administration as did expenditures congress controls the spending and has been lead by Democrats since January of 2007. Spending is the issue not taxes because the government never does with less at the federal level. They use base line budgeting not zero base budgeting .

I had several people I knew go to the Restoring Honor rally in DC back in August. Noone paid for any part of their trip. They scoured their own personal funds to pay for the trip. There were no buses bringing people in. The airport and monorail lines were packed as they didnt have anyone organizing their transportation. They certainly didn't have Unions making the rally mandatory and intimidating people into going. They didn't have a single communist link unlike this one which has more than you can count. They didn't fool anyone with this rally as Nov will prove.

On another note, someone on these pages said that the conservative repubs would be in the minority in the next 10 years. He or she was absolutely correct unfortunately. Thats why Dems are so big on Amnesty. Instant Dem voters.

Sadly enough Mr. Bush did not really win Ohio, and statistically could not have won FL or New Mexico.

In Ohio, as we now know, Blackwell certified votes from counties and precincts where more votes were "cast" than the number of registered voters in those precincts. And all of the errors and discrepancies were in favor of Mr. Bush.

The entire state went for the other party in all state wide races. It has been shown that it is a mathematical impossibility that Mr. Bush actually won the Ohio electoral votes.

I watched intently. The main thrust of the rally was "Give me a Job" and "Why should I have to pay for my college education?". Unfortunately, I think that this downward path is now inevitable for this country thanks to decades of work by "progressives" and "liberals" (Marxists with a nicer name) and spineless RINOS like McCain who go along to get re-elected and don't want to makes waves.

That's why I support the idea of secession of roughly half the states from the federal union to form an independent, conservative country that is loyal to our constitution, our founding philosophy, our heritage, our culture and our language.

We could reinstate the things we have lost over time to Big Brother: low taxation, minimal government interference, personal freedom, free enterprise, a strong national defence, printing our own money from the treasury (NOT the Federal Reserve international cabal), quality infrastructure and schools (yes, all with LOW taxes), and none of the institutionalized racist policies like affirmative action, quotas, special exclusive programs. If you take a step back and look at the basic facts you will see, the top 1% "the super rich as you would say" pay about 40% of Federal income tax paid. The top 10% " the upper middle class" paid 71% and it was the top 50% that paid 97%. I am for giving the upper class a tax break because they pay more than anyone else to begin with. What we really need to see is much smaller government and a reduction in the entitlements that people have come to take for granted. So for those of you who are badmouthing the rich, remember that those are the people who are paying for your roads, schools, safety, etc. And they are also the ones who give the most to charities. Both parties suck at this point. This country has lost it's way and unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a real leader around to put things right.

Actually, only the first 2 factors were from Wikipedia, and I verified them with government records. The other 2 item are also verified with government records.

The problem is "Missing Jobs," not "Lost Jobs." Since January 2001, the economy should have added 7.9 million jobs according to the President's Council of Economic advisors. The prediction line shows what they believed in November 2001, when they thought Bush's tax cut policies would create enough jobs to put the job market back on track before the 2004 election.

The graph below, puts the top graph in more historical context to show that the economy adds jobs rapidly in normal times. In terms of jobless claims, you can try and negate all that data by saying its not accurate. However, Bush was measured against that data, so it is fair to measure Obama by the same data. Obama is clearly doing a much better job than Bush.

I believe you will find that most Americans finds that the reported unemployment rate and actual unemployment rate are more meaningful to their personal economics than whether or not the number of people filing has gone down.

I have read many posts on here and see that someone was knocking McMahon for cutting 10% of the workers but banking millions in profits. So what???? Its her business she can run it how she wants. If she feels that she can cut workers and still make more money then that is the smart thing to do. The Government should try it. Get rid of 10% of the incompetents working there and save billions. Corporations take their jobs overseas for the same reason. If they have to pay record amounts of corporate taxes just to operate then the smart thing to do is to go where it doesn't cost so much. On the other hand the smart thing for our Government to do is to make it more inviting for those corporations to stay put.

The bottom line is that nobody owes you a job. You have to earn it. If you can be cut and the business still make money then guess what? Here comes the knife. The business didn't hire you to here about all your problems and they aren't paying you to conduct personal life on their dime. They hire you so that they can make more money faster. I was there and from the pictures I've seen so far, they seem to have been taken way before it really got started. Like you, I'm waiting to see true shots of both rallies. When I was there, there were hundreds and hundreds of people along the sides of the pond, but looking at the pictures I've seen so far, there's nothing but grass. So, I hope we'll see actual pictures when the event was in full swing.

Obama and his allies have transferred more wealth to fewer people than any time in the history of the world. Obama has been a friend to the largest corporations in the world. He bailed out banks, insurance companies, auto manufacturers, rewarding bad behavior, while companies who lived responsibly (like Ford, many of the foreign car companies building cars here in the US, many community banks, etc...) only speaks to the fraud that Congress and Obama has perpetrated on the American public.

I am an American Patriot, who is tired of living in what amounts to a feudal system, where the top 5-10% control the other 95% of its citizens. The middle class is almost extinct; yet all some people want to talk about is "how to construct a theocratic government" here in the United States. Are most Americans that naive?

Paul, try not to overstate dear, TARP was implemented by the previous administration. True the democratic congress passed it but they were told by all the powers that be that if they did not move there would be no economy to save. The president did help the auto industry yes, but he did not do it "strings free" the way Paulson structured TARP. He required restructuring and changes that would bring those industries back from the brink and guess what...last time I checked it was working. And as far as the transfer of wealth...if you truly believe that happened on President Obama's watch, you are truly deluded. According to David Cay's 2007 article in the New York Times:

I don't believe the democrats proposed any sort of purity pledge for candidates or have voted "en bloc" the way we have seen republicans do over the last 20 months. My observation is that conservatives are really into getting together and having communal temper tantrums to prove ...something, I,m not sure what . (Maybe that they are angry children?) Most of the liberals I know prefer to make their point in civil discourse, blogging, local get togethers and voting. The fact that most liberal rallies are not so large, loud and angry does not mean that we are not here or that we will not vote. Don't count your chickens before they are hatched.
