China is hitting a wall now and they are not to far from having their problems exposed and could sell our debt. How long can they keep people employed building factories and apartments with no one to move into them.

That being said there is no way this trip is costing $200M a day. Maybe that is India dollars as that is where the report came from. But why does everyone still listen to these idiots. They only get ratings by announcing these wid stories. If it costs $15-20 p/day then that would be in line with other Presidential excursions.

It is not only the business that will be picked up but the purchase of our debt that is more important. This is one of those trips that more will go on behind the scenes than what we will see. And even as a Rep, I do believe this trip is necessary and a good idea.

To everybody whining about the national debt: the stimulus made the government a profit, saved millions of jobs and prevented a depression. This has been verified by professional, non-partisan economists. Limbaugh and Beck are liars, plain and simple.

First, they never reveal the cost before the trip. Because if you know how much the plane and travel as well as lodging is, you can estimate how much the protection detail is and from there estimate what they are doing. At least that is what the Secret Service implies. I don't know how true that is, but I can understand their belief in secrecy.

Second, all of Clinton's trips came out to 134.2 million or thereabouts, now... given that number, are you really going to believe that the trip to India is going to cost MORE PER DAY than Clinton's trips together? However, President Obama has done nothing to sponsor legislation offering business and tax incentives for American Companies to return American jobs back to America. He can pass Government Controlled Health Care Bill with mandated citizen copay premiums, that 2/3 of American voters don't want. However, Obama, can't even offer legislation to lower the national unemployment via overseas job returns. So, what exactly is this trip going to accomplish? Nothing!

They investigated where the story came from and said it appeared to have originated in India which obviously would have no idea of the costs.

Both stations showed a video of the White House also debunking the story.

They are not against the "President" going abroad to the second largest population in the world to try to get some positive trade going, they are against a "black President" going abroad to try to improve the market for American goods. None of these people criticized Nixon for going to China, Bush Sr. for going to Japan ( where he blew chunks ) or any other of the past presidential trips. The hatred is so deep they cannot see the possible good that might come from the trip in creating a better market for American goods. Maybe if some of our past presidents had done even more of this, we would not be outsourcing so many jobs to these nations and would still have a manufacturing base here in America.

Because if you know how much the plane and travel as well as lodging is, you can estimate how much the protection detail is and from there estimate what they are doing. Second, all of Clinton's trips came out to 134.2 million or thereabouts, now... given that number, are you really going to believe that the trip to India is going to cost MORE PER DAY than Clinton's trips together? Whether you like it or not, the President of the United States is a global leader. Regardless of where he is physically, he is constantly working on domestic and international issues at all times. Whether you like it or not, the President does have to travel to maintain relations and try and show the US is not as stupid or weak as we are under this administration. The cost estimate is a joke, but in total will likely cost 20-30 million dollars for the week +. This trip was planned months ago, so it is not a result of elections or trying to hide. Obama is truely in over his head. The facts related to the wars show he can talk a good story, but has no clue how to lead. Let him enjoy this trip, because he is coming home to a meat grinder for the next two years!

Denver--I have the same right to an opinion as you do. I DO believe that every President works nearly 24/7 because it is the nature of the job. They must be at hand for every possibility at every second of their presidency. It is true of those who do the job well and those who do it poorly. I happen to be an Obama supporter and was not impressed with Bush. However, I do believe Bush also worked 24/7 and truly believed he was doing the right thing. I also believe that the office itself should be accorded some respect and your hateful, snide treatment of a duly elected President is very disturbing to me.
