is being wined and dined by the United States Government and the upper echelons of American society while China continues with its dangerous and vile authoritarian policies and practices.
At the same time China is being given a lavish State Dinner, the wife of imprisoned Chinese Nobel Peace Prize-winner Liu Xiaobo is thought to be held under effective house arrest.
Where are our priorities?!!! Where is the outrage?!!! Just like everything else in America these days--- it's all about short term gain. The inevitable consequence will be LONG TERM JEOPARDY FOR AMERICA!
I didn't get past America's largest creditor. My New Years resolution was to stop at the first untruth I come to. China holds a whopping 7% of our debt thus it is not the biggest creditor. Often a judge will give the jury the option after a witness is caught in a confabulation to belive a part all or none of the testimony. Guess what I decided to do ?
Probably, Japan If I'm recalling correctly they bought up most of it.
As for China on human rights? Do we have any room to talk? We have innocent men in prison that Judges have even said are innocent. We have the largest prison population in the world Our Supreme Court ruled its ok for states to execute people who most likely innocent. We have our very own torture facility that came with pardons to our leaders from human rights violations. Over 100,000 Iraqis died because we invaded Iraq. We kill woman and children everyday in Afghanistan and Pakistan with our drones.
As for China on Pollution? We can't really say much to them our companies are free to pollute with small fines. In China they shoot the CEOs in the face.
As for China on Currency manipulation? What do you think has been happening to the American dollar for the last 8 years. Its not China causing it.
I agree with you on the poisonous chemicals they use to save money in their products which I why I don't buy Chinese products.
Tactical45--- I wouldn't give you the address of my current mental health facility--- even if I resided at such--- as I would be afraid that you would come calling in the middle of the night with your creepy and offensive subterfuge.
Rhazes--- You may be correct that Japan is America's largest creditor with China being a close second (so if that's the case, I stand corrected); there can be no dispute that it carries a massive amount of American debt. Regardless, the Chinese dictatorship is worthy of rebuke.
No doubt America has its own faults, but it is perfectly appropriate to criticize the lavish party being thrown for the deplorable Chinese regime!
Dear Ms. Fool Angelica, allow me to set thing straight with you about ur brainwashed list of China -
1. America's largest creditor - good thing that foreign countries still have faith in American economy = buying your debt and investing in you.
2. Currency manipulator - last time I checked China still has millions of people in poverty and is still a developing nation. They must keep their currency low in order to grow. They have absolute no reason to raise their currency and make you happy.
3. Torturer and jailer of the 2010 Nobel Laureate - Nobel Peace Prize is a joke. Last year they give it to Obama and Ale Gore the year before. Enough said, they give to anyone who fits nice in their nice little agenda trying to influence world politics all the way from Norway. Pathetic bunch of people trying to make themselves relevant.
4. Defalcator of American intellectual property - Very arrogant and self-righteous statement. If America is always leading the cutting edge technological advance, why would you be worried? or is it because America is now falling behind to other countries and you are starting the blame game?
5. Toxic-chemicals-in-food-and-toys promoter - Again using crimes committed by private business corporations to label a country as a whole. Your biased anti-China syndrome at its best.
6. Environment-destroyer - A inevitable industrial by-product of any country at their developmental stage. Certain facts you missed or am sure you have INTENTIONALLY missed is that China is the world's largest solar power plate producer. China has the world's largest hydroelectric dam. China will build world's largest solar energy power plant in its desert. China is building at least 20 nuclear power plant in the next 20 years vs. U.S's big fat zero. American solar companies are closing their factories and reopening them in China.
Yeah Angelica stop living in a parallel universe by urself and get some facts before writing ur garbages.
That list is a regular who's who of insider, millionaire/billionaire leftist. I didn't see any republicans on the list. Interesting that only dem former prsidents were invited.
Republicans - including Boehner and McConnell - were invited, but they declined the invitation. One report said JB's reason was that he "had other things to do." Other things than respect the president and present a united front to a foreign power, that is. BTW, I believe this is the third White House dinner he's skipped since Obama took office, not to mention the Tuscon memorial event. Of course, in that case he had a good excuse, he was hosting a cocktail party.
Daisy, somebody in Washington has to work while the others are partying the night away. Some of us would prefer not to get lulled to sleep by the liberal bedtime song. I am quite sure that Boehner's cocktail party had alot more strategic discussion than it did cocktail. Maybe Boehner is not in awe of President "hu dat? "like some folks appear to be.
Ben: I agree. Reid should have been there. Jimmyshark: Please don't try to tell me that hosting/attending a state dinner isn't work. Also, Boehner doesn't need to be in awe of anyone. But how about a little respect for the office of the president of the U.S. and showing a united front to other countries?
Daisy, maybe the entire house and the senate along with the interns, pages and advisors should have lined up on either side of the corridor and held up lit butane lighters as president chink strolled past? We let him in the country and we buy his country's cheap crap. That is respect enough.
With inflation running wild my family has not been able to afford to go out for dinner. Too much month at the end of the money.. On the positive side I still have my job..
Wonder what the tally was for this outing.??? Who's buying.???
I do not need to be set straight. Your the one who has shoved your head so far up China's a-- such that you are incapable of cogent thought processes and you obviously do not care about reality.
What is the real purpose behind your mindless support for the Chinese regime--- an attempt to curry favor with the Chinese dictatorship?!?!?!! You don't really have any valid dispute for anything I've said--- your only response is to question why what I've said matters. It matters to those who support America and its success!
Your comment: "American solar companies are closing their factories and reopening them in China" --- LIKE THAT'S A GOOD THING?!?!?!?!!! If that is what is happening is a damaging thing for America and is all about the race to the bottom of wages, as American companies only move to China to partake of the lowest possible wages in the world! There is no other reason. Your comments are moronic and evidence a lack of understanding of what would be good for America--- OUR COUNTRY!
I didn't get a raise this year, but I'm lucky I have a job. But, I'm sick and tired of paying for steak and shrimp dinners for movie stars and poltical hacks (Republicans and Democrats alike). I know we owe China a lot of money (thanks to smart politicans and the morons that bought big houses that they couldn't afford)-- but how about taking the Chinese big whig to the Olive Garden and give me a break.
"but how about taking the Chinese big whig to the Olive Garden and give me a break." Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!! I almost choked on my coffee!
obRandall....Uh how do you know who was invited? Perhaps Bush turned down coming.
Ans as fas as only Democrats on the list...I did not know Chris Christie of NJ was a Democrat...You are just another blatherskite.
Franklytrue, "blatherskite" was an O'Reilly word of the day not to long ago. Happy to make the acquaintance of another fan! Top of the morning to you and yours! And remember, the only real blatherskite is the blatherskite that is not spoken. I think.
When are some of us 'regular-joe' taxpayers going to be invited to one of these events since we pay for them anyway? It would be nice to see a few soldier names on the guest list that just came back from Afghanistan or Iraq rather then Barbra Streisand and her husband. What the heck did Barbra do to defend our freedom & liberites?
there's a recently deployed soldier on the list.......he's back safely from a deployment in Afghanistan. his last name is Biden, he's Joe's son and also Attorney General of Delaware..........but, he is still a member of our military to answer your question.
I'm surprised Hu didn't commit sucide for losing face by wearing a business suit to a black tie affair. Wonder whose fault that was for the missed communication.
The chinese wanted a nice american dinner..well I'm american and a nice dinner to me is Dinty Moore beef stew with a glass of milk..its all I can afford!
I think it is interesting to note who is NOT at the Dinner. Rep. John Boehner had prior arrangements and elected to decline the offer to attend the State Function. Another cocktail party held by large Donors and Influence Peddlers takes precedence over representing your country I guess. While President Obama was making a deal to bring 245,000 Jobs to the country, Rep Boehner was busy collecting campaign contributions. My guess is in about a month Boehner's popularity will be headed south of Nancy Pelosi's.
maybe Boo-hoo Boehnor was afraid he'd get all choked up and blubber all over the place. he'd make the U S look like wussys in front of the China man. plus I hear he likes his cocktails (really likes). cocktails and a cryer.......oy vey what a mix....it's best he stayed away.
Stop all the complaining. China needs the U.S. and the U.S. needs China. Just think of the mess we will be in, if these two super powers don't get along. You think you are hard done by now, it can get a lot worse if these two countries don't have a good relationship.
agreed and it's yet another smart move on Obama's part. Bush slighted the guy by hosting a lunch. yo George, how to win friends & influence people? I think we should make Obama a saint for all this stuff he has to fix. plus if we make him a saint we'll give the right a collective coronary. as they say....2 birds with one stone.....
Go, chatty k. It would really do a lot for international relations and our image in the world to treat the head of a superpower to a dinner delivered by Domino's.
i [WE] checked the list to see if me name is on it; but no Dice.
Interesting Note: NOT One Of The 'GUESTS" includes The Presz wore a DALAi-LAMA Costume?? BUT
What WE [i] did notice was that 1/2 of Those on 'The-List' (Not Schindlers) Had "Cups In Hand', not Hat's for the SINO Alien's a/k/a the Real 'TIGERs" (No more "PAPER TiGERS" ).
Oh Those wretched PULTOCRATICS! (Even Obama is a Millionare Now); WElcome to the Club, aye!?
At the dinner will be a bunch of free loaders include The assistant to the prez bill Clinton save the tax payers money no chinese chef needed just call in from the local chinese take out !!
I voted for Obama, but I'll not do it again. If the Republican flavor presidential candidate in 2012 is too revolting, I'll stay home. I'll wager a lot of people in this country feel just the same.

Some of these comments kill me. These kinds of political dinners have been going on since George Washington. And with this one, you'd better understand taking our (the United State of America's) banker to dinner is the least we can do.
We're fighting two wars we can't pay for, giving unpaid-for tax breaks to Americans, bailing out our corporations which I might add have paid off pretty well for Americans over the long haul. The real estate debauchel to me is the worst. Just simple greed! Guy want's to buy a house. He goes to his little home town bank and gets a loan. Nothing wrong with that, we've been doing it for years. Then some big money machine runs in and buys up the loan from the little bank and you're mailing your mortgage payment to Houston every month. Still OK. Then the local banks figure why bust our chops qualifying, even turning down loans. We're making a fortune here. They'll buy our loan no matter who we sell the homes to. Right as rain, they're grabbing deals up all over the country and sitting on a mountain of mortgages. Except you've got people with low paying jobs trying to pay for a very expensive home. And it didn't help to see the appraisers jacking that $80,000 house up to $150,000 in one neat appraisal. So the roof finally caved in and here we are. Don't buy the garbage about this all happened on Obama's watch. This is Georgie Boys baby right from the beginning. From manufacturing false intelligence reports to start the Iraq war, to keeping his election bankers happy with corporate and personal tax breaks. I'm dying to see who's going to run against Obama next election. I don't care who it is. We'll just take a look at his money intake and voting record. Bring him, or her, on!
.
I'm SO very, very glad that all these guests are either honorable or excellent, it makes it much easier to know that they are being fed hundred dollar a plate dinners on my tax dime, what about you guys?
I don't know if it is $100.00 a plate, but the U.S. needs the cooperation of China and for China to open its markets to at least high end American goods and some protection for intellectual properties. Bush and Cheney dissed the hell out of them while borrowing megabucks from them to fund tax cuts for the rich and for what they thought would be "a walk in the park in re: to their trumped up invasion of Iraq."
China will Never buy our good s for the long term, They buy the first one for a model , then , reverse engineer it, and start production, pay their workers a pittance, and we our out of business. Their is no common ground, they don't have the capacity , or moral or legal rectitude to respect intellectual property rights. Trade balance will only occur when their labor organizes to demand better wages and subsequent labor costs rise. This is our only hope, and it won't happen in your , or my lifetime.
There is a lot of truth to what you said. Pres. Obama is in a tough spot w/regard to the Chinese.
He really has to make a gambit to the Chinese on the order "that America is their biggest trading partner," even though all that they import from us is coal and grain.
President Obama is reduced to, and it is not his fault at all, of making the plea to the Chinese "that when the rabbit dies the wolf's cries," but not like John Boner.
What I want to know is, since they are going to be in the vicinity of our esteemed President and First Lady, were they stripped searched and full body scanned before being allowed to enter the dining area.
What I want to know is, did The president bow to Hu? And did he apologize because someone asked the Great Leader a civil rights question? Also did the crashers the Salahis show up?
Were they patted down with unchanged dirty gloves? How low did he bow. and what the hell reason is there for Striesand and her bunch? Are they going to be part of Pres' cabinets ?
I think President Obama is a great president. All Bush and the Republicans ever did was snub the Chinese while they were kissing their azzes in private borrowing money to fund tax cuts for the super rich and a start a war in Iraq that the Americans lost.
Christie is a smart guy. you can bet he is going to promote Joisey to the Chinese. he should have bought Snooki as his date. that would have got him some more attention.
So Boehner and Cantor how is saying no working for you. So, you don't want to sit at the table with our Black President. Both of you are pathetic racists and I am sure the dinner was much better with out you there. At least the guest were able to enjoy the food and company with intelligent conversation. Not people always saying no no no you are wrong. Just do all of us a great favor and don't attend anything with our President, I wouldn't won't either of you in close proximity to our President he may catch something and it won't be civility.
racegirl01 - You make absolutely no sense. Because Speaker of the House - Mr. Boehner does not attend, you think it is because he does not want to "sit at the table with our Black President". How could you possibly make that conclusion, it is ridiculous. Besides, correct me if I am wrong, but isn't the President 1/2 black and 1/2 white???? But I notice that you only refer to the "black" part. Maybe you should catch some civiltiy.
Boehnor & Cantor are an embarassment to America. it's best they didn't attend. our true statesmen are there......Obama, Clinton, Biden, Kissinger plus Hillary and Secratary Albright. that's a pretty impressive crowd and their smiles are genuine unlike Cantor's smug smirk. leave the GOP boys to plot on. they are their own worst enemy & their bitterness will be their own demise.
Bill Clinton is like a tick on a liberal dog. Buried deep and just won't let go. Sucking just enough blood to sustain his existence. He is a true D.C. junkie. I wonder what Hillary really thinks about his act?
Oh by the way racegirl01, did you forget when the "President" said he did not mind if Republicans came along for the ride, as long as they sat in the back.......sounds really welcoming to me. What is wrong with some of you people?????
Barack Obama is MY President! He never stops trying to find the best in all situations, even with our most ardent detractors, our most difficult partnerships, our most serious threats. He provides intelligent analysis, extracts all he can immediately, but more importantly is simultaneously working behind the scenes on the bigger issues which bear fruit in time. Little spin, mostly energy and work, and he gives me hope in all his dealings- China, the issues of our nation, the opposition within our country, the world. He makes me proud. Always.
bruce gordon ,what are you on CRACK??This president and congress continue to forget all americans that have loss jobs since 2008 without benifits and jobs..2 yrs. Yet they still dont address the problem in the US. I guess they think it will go away!! All this is causing-welfare-home loss-devastation rate to the -low and middle class so called americans..WAKE UP-OBAMA-congress-media..............
yawn...........

Bring him, or her, on!
.
Good post. I have become very favorably impressed by President Obama.
I've said it many times before and I'll keep saying it. Two hundred years from now when something doesn't suit somebody it will be blamed on George W.
and prolly the evil Dick will still be ticking.
Mike -
Separate your thoughts by paragraph breaks.
They'll be easier to follow.
Rattus68,
China will Never buy our good s for the long term, They buy the first one for a model , then , reverse engineer it, and start production, pay their workers a pittance, and we our out of business.
I don't care who's attending.
TRADERS TRADERS TRADERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
So you're saying they're very good merchants?
Or did you mean traitors?
Ummmm.....am I the only one that noticed Goldman Sacs on the invite list!
And The wonderfully obese Chris Christie came over the bridge or did he still fit into a tunnel?
Christie is a smart guy. you can bet he is going to promote Joisey to the Chinese. he should have bought Snooki as his date. that would have got him some more attention.
Another pile of money down the toilet.
Racegirl,
You are so dead on correct. You rock racegirl.
V/r,
Rattus
Boehnor & Cantor are an embarassment to America. it's best they didn't attend. our true statesmen are there......Obama, Clinton, Biden, Kissinger plus Hillary and Secratary Albright. that's a pretty impressive crowd and their smiles are genuine unlike Cantor's smug smirk. leave the GOP boys to plot on. they are their own worst enemy & their bitterness will be their own demise.
Bill Clinton is like a tick on a liberal dog. Buried deep and just won't let go. Sucking just enough blood to sustain his existence. He is a true D.C. junkie. I wonder what Hillary really thinks about his act?
racegirl
Since you seem to very concerned with race, if our 1/2 black and 1/2 white President looked white, would you have voted for him?
Steve, I don't think she is up to looking in the mirror at the moment. Well played!
Oh by the way racegirl01, did you forget when the "President" said he did not mind if Republicans came along for the ride, as long as they sat in the back.......sounds really welcoming to me. What is wrong with some of you people?????
Why would the Speaker of the House of Representives NOT attend a State Dinner.
Did John's invitation get lost in the congressional mail room?
well c'mon the Boner man is not that bright. he would probably be intimidated by the intelligence in that room let alone all the silverware.
Always.
Bruce Gordon
Wow, I feel a man crush coming on.
bruce gordon ,what are you on CRACK??This president and congress continue to forget all americans that have loss jobs since 2008 without benifits and jobs..2 yrs. Yet they still dont address the problem in the US. I guess they think it will go away!! All this is causing-welfare-home loss-devastation rate to the -low and middle class so called americans..WAKE UP-OBAMA-congress-media..............
