If you don't have people making decent money, consuming and supporting a tax base, you get our current economic situation. Trickle down only works when money isn't shipped over to Chinese workers. Now we have a situation where our factories and consumers are pumping money overseas instead of keeping the profits and jobs at home. It will take extreme measures to fix this problem. Outsourced labor must become less profitable which would take either a middle class boom in China or extreme regulation on outsourcing. Either way, it will be a very hard time for all Americans.

I didn't say anyone was blocking the initial release. I said at the time of the release many of the emails had blackouts or were not included at all at the request of Alaska attorneys. If they had been released via computer it would have saved time and trees.

These exemptions are not mandatory — the governor's office could release all of the records, but it has chosen to withhold the 2,275 pages. Many of the state employees making these decisions had worked in the Palin administration.

What bothers me most about Sarah Palin is her pathological denial of responsibility or error that seems to bleed over into her devoted followers. When asked a very standard question about her foreign policy experience she put her foot in her mouth and now when brought to question, she and her followers put the blame on the media. When asked which periodicals she reads to stay informed, again a very basic question, she was unable to formulate a intelligent and rational answer. Instead of taking responsibility for her mistake and possibly her ignorance she again blames the media and her loyal masses follow suit. During her time as Governor her behavior and ethics were called into question, and she resigned due to the pressures facing her from the resulting law suits and investigations. Yet again, poor Sarah it is not her fault the mean people who hate her are to blame. If she was unable to handle the pressure of her "detractors" as Governor of Alaska, what makes ANYONE believe it is magically going to become a zen experience for her if, god forbid, she's the first elected female President of the United States?

Red flags for me regarding Sarah Palin:

Unable or unwilling to take personal responsibility for her actions and their resulting consequences.

Deliberately attempting to use Yahoo mail to obfuscate her communications between public officials from public accountability.

Despite having resigned midterm due to financial and mental stress from investigations and lawsuits she incurred in a overwhelmingly conservative republican state she feels fit to hold the office of POTUS.

Her complicity to have books banned from a public library.

Her exclusive use of loyal staffers to compile her public record email for release.

Her undeniable involvement with the "bridge to nowhere" scam.

It really is kind of a pain to access government e-mail accounts from personal computers. Because of the firewalls involved there's got to be a VPN (Virtual Private Network) between the personal computer and the government network. It's really not worth the hassle for a quickie blurb e-mail.

It says in the article that Alaska has problems with high-speed internet access because so many areas are so remote. VPN sucks over my 25MBPS Cable 'Net and it would be an absolute horror over dial-up speeds.

As more than one person has said, one of the reasons her emails were asked for was because she was cc'ing her husband and they are government documents since she was using her state account. Duh, it's not brain science. Also, she has ethics violations. FOIA (Freedom of Information Act) requests are very lengthy and noteworthy. The fact they were released is really quite an accomplishment by the press. There has to be a reason for them to be released and the state or the person can deny it and it can go before a judge. However, it is part of the First Amendment. Since Obama is still in office and there is technically been no formal complaints of ethics violattions, the press (not your average idiot Joe) has no reason to make a FOIA request. These emails are being released to the press, who is sharing them with the public. Maybe, if some of you would brush up on the constiution and the history behind the reason for it, we wouldn't have so many idiotic posts on here.

Also, FYI, MSNBC leans to the liberal side of things and does not apologize for it. If you're looking for something else, go to CNN or Fox. They haven't trademarked the lie of "Fair and Balanced" and done the complete opposite.

She had one ethics violation - sort of. The official line was guilty of abuse of power for not controlling her staff. Um - her husband was not offically ever part of the staff. All the Troopergate email, phone calls, confrontations were all from Todd and Monegan assumed that to be coming from Palin. Even Monegan in testimony noticed Palin at a distance seeming puzzled as to what was going on between him and Todd.

The travel expense was a poorly written law. The special prosecuter even admitted it would be tossed in court. The bottom line was it would be less costly for the Palin's to repay than pay legal fees to get the case tossed. Not guilty businesses pay settlements all the time for the same reason.

Everything else brought against Palin was pure partisan groundless charges that were all dismissed at the cost of bad publicity and attorney's fees.

The GM and president of TLC, Eileen O'Neill had high hopes this was going to be a compelling show, but went on to state that there was simply no reality to it. They also questioned her Caribou hunting and fishing too close to bears. There's a HUGE difference between working a job and being an elected official. I took my current job for three main reasons: 1) to make money, 2) advancement opportunities, and 3) I was interested in the field.

I hope that elected officials go into politics because they want to help. I think, for the most part, that's true. While I think corruption happens to most, if not all, of them at some point, I think most entered politics because they did want to help others. I don't want people going into politics for the money, power or prestige. I want public servants who love their state and country.

Palin quit because she could make more money as a writer, commentator and speaker. She didn't leave for another office (if she had been elected VP) or after her first term. She abandoned her people because she wasn't making enough money or obtaining enough power as Governor of Alaska. She could obtain much more on book tours, Fox News, and speaking at conferences.

Best selling authors are failures? Having a cable TV series is being a failure? Having a demand for speaking engagements is being a failure?

That is COMMERCIAL success. There is nothing wrong with commercial success. I've acheived a bit of it myself. However, that doesn't mean she is beneficial or a success in society. It just means she has the ability to make money.

For example, Stephanie Meyer makes million on the Twilight books. Is she a commercial success? Yes. Is she a literariy success? No. Her books are poorly written drivel that in no way reflects on our society or creates memorable characters. Another example would be Charlie Sheen. He had a television show as well. He has a tone of money. He is a commercial success. Is he the type of person you would consider to be successful in life? Depends on how you measure success.

Props to Palin for being able to sell books, get people to pay her speaking fee and get viewers to tune in to watch her run her mouth. That's the only way she is successful. She adds nothing to the discourse except division. She has no ideas on how to fix the economy. She has no ideas on how to trim the deficit. She has no idea how to address illegal immigration. She only knows how to use rhetoric about "gotcha questions" and "liberal media elites."

I am not a Palin fan and I just can't understand the obsessive fascination with her. She isn't particularly interesting, for sure, but you folks are sure interested.

If the Emails haven't been tampered with, already a bunch of it has been discarded as private. My thoughts is that nothing is private if it is sent on a government computer, that makes it public. Two years to fine tune what is turned over as public matter. Now, I'm going to explain how Law Review works. This is from personal experience. There are two ways onto Law Review (or Law Journal); grade your way on or write your way on. After the first semester of law school, the top students are invited onto law journal. During the second semester of the 1L (first year) year, there is a write-on competition. Interested students write and submit a paper for review. The paper works in tandem with GPA to determine who is admitted to law journal.

During your second year of law school (sometimes both semesters), you write an article or opinion. These are long, arduous and full of footnotes. ALL new students submit a paper to a professor for feedback. It is then determined which papers will be published in the bound copy of the law school's law journal/review. Not everyone is published. Once the opinions and articles chosen for publication have been decided EVERYONE helps with "source and cite." This is a tedious process where you check very letter, every citation, to determine if it is properly done. Law review articles can be cited by courts and in briefs so journals/reviews want to make sure the articles chosen are top notch.

Also during the 2L year, a student is picked to become Editor-In-Chief. Interested students submit applications. There are numerous criteria used to chose the Editor. Writing skills are taken into account but so are other skills as well. The Editor is responsible for making sure the volume produced is top notch. The new editor then selects the board.

During the 3L year, most editors write papers (mine did) but their main focus is on getting everything ready for publication.

If you actually read Revere's account you will see that he was arrested by a British patrol. He emphatically did not intentionally set out to warn the British that we were not to be trifled with. He was arrested, captured!

Having then been arrested and with a pistol at his head he advised the British officer interrogating him of his mission. I'll wager he was pretty scared at that point (who wouldn't be?) and told the exact truth of his mission in fear for his life and not as an act of bravado to "warn" the British.

Perhaps this is what Ms. Palin meant in her "aw shucks", down home mangled version of English but that is not what she said.

Did you watch Colbert report? He demonstrated how Revere pulled it off according to dumbass Palin. He had a bell on one hand, a rifle in the other, while galloping on a horse, and he would have had to load his gun with gunpowder from the front of the barrel while the horse was running full speed oh and at same time ringing those bells and yelling to the British that the colonists were coming, the colonists are coming!!! LOL It was priceless!!!
