If Gingrich is there you can be sure there will be more group hugs! He just loves Republicans so much he could gush!
I have my Prep H ready to go! I'll need it watching this pathetic group of crooks and corrupt self-serving idiots. I can't wait to see Cain put both feet in his mouth as Gingrich berates the mediator for asking questions! LOL What a bunch of misfits!
Oh, Barry and his buddies aren't a bunch of crooks? If you look at it right, they're all just a bunch of crooks and clowns. It's just what crook or clown do you want to vote for? Six of one half a dozen of the other. That's all. The politicians are all for themselves and God is for us all, that's what's really going on. Think about it.
Most of America has had to purchase Preparation H by the bulk since Obama took office.
Hope and Change! I guess his Hope was that America didn't discover he is completely inept at helping anyone outside his inner circle.
Change was to keep Americans unemployed rather than working and paying taxes so the country could become stronger. Change was from democracy to socialism; but he's being blocked by congress from realizing that hope.
They will get around to the hugs just before all these Rethuglicans go into the bathroom to a toe tapping session. Each of them has a container of ky in their pockets.
Every time Perry opens his pie hole something stupid comes out of it.
If this is the best the GOP has to offer this country is finished. Looks like a cake walk for Obama. I mean just look at this group of clowns absolutely pathetic!
Meanwhile... back in the real world ...Oblahma can't even lick the back of a postage stamp (although Clinton has been known to lick the back of an oligarch)
Obama with a millionaire never ending Presidential campaign is only three points ahead of Cain 42% to 39%, with a campaign compare between Sanson and Goliath. In few more months Cain can easily beat Obama, as well Romney.
Cudos to CNN for having the best debate so far. Anderson Cooper took a few shots at Cain but otherwise did a good job. There were alot of solid questions asked.
It was a heated night , they all want their message be heard. Good debate. However they all agree in something, Obama is responsible for this economy and Obamacare must be repealed.
I would have given anything to be one of the audience that got to ask a question.
This is what it would have been.
In the 2010 campaign every candidate from your party campaigned on Jobs Jobs.
The American people trusted you and gave you the congress, many Governorship's
and legislative bodies all over this country.
Once you got into power these many republicans have shown they are liars and have done nothing on jobs anywhere, but instead have reeked havoc everywhere with interfering with women's reproductive rights, destroying unions, and doing every possible thing to impede the public from registering to vote and voting in general.
Not just a few but all of you have shown nothing you say on this stage can be believed.
You are Dr Jeckle on the campaign trail, and Mr Hyde when you are elected.
Why should anyone vote for you?
We do not need a new president,...we need a new congress.
As a citizen and veteran of this great nation I hope that we can come together and quit demonizing each other. We all need to quit following the hate discussions that have no value or purpose, instead we need to respect each other. I know this is just a dream and probably won't happen.
I just wish the people that are getting paid to create hate on these posts would go away. We will never be defeated by another nation but we could self destruct by letting those who are motivated by greed bring this great nation down.
What you people do not get is that 99% of us are suffering...and the Party of No! The Party of "give more to the ..ha..ha..job creators" is falling flat on their face..No jobs! No Reform...but control a women's uterus...On top of that!
And I am sorry...all you right wing people...You don"t really watch Maddow or Ed. Why are you here? Go back to Faux...I mean Fox..where your ideas are applauded and appreciated. Here...You're just scorned. You attack people for being stupid...when you point your finger..three are pointing back at you..Use logic and reason...then I might consider you worthy of debate. Otherwise...blah..blah...blah..I mean really! Where is your argument and logic?
We need to start a movement to impeach some of the Supreme Court. That decision to allow unlimited PACs? Not to mention the 2000 election. Some people there need to be gone!
"Our Socialist/Marxist Worker's Paradise is just ONE Election away!"
Lamont
Nobody want failed ideologies from Russia Cuba and Europe . No hope, 53 % of Americans support capitalism and free market, only 20 % mostly inexperience young people support socialism and government take over. However cases like Solyndra and GE both related with Obama and the White House, are crony capitalism.
They will get around to the hugs just before all these Rethuglicans go into the bathroom to a toe tapping session. Each of them has a container of ky in their pockets.
LMFAO!! LMFAO!! They're bad, naughty boys just like Craig said!! LMFAO!!!
I have to agree with you, the Supreme Court has become a Supreme Embarrassment. Clarence Thomas lied on his financial statements and stated he "misunderstood" the forms. How does a Supreme Court Justice sit on the highest court on the land and claim he doesn't know how to fill out a simple form?
It is sad and scary that our Supreme Court would give Corporations the same rights a human being. Do they really think we are all that stupid, the Supreme Court has been hijacked by Corporations and corruption.
Yeah, the Supreme Court has gone over the deep end. Thomas should be tossed in jail for that lie, my god a Supreme Court Judge should be beyond reproach and he basically took money from people who directly benefited by his decision/vote.
Now as for the debates....LOVE IT!!! I would watch them on pay per view if that my only option, these are getting as entertaining as an MMA bout. I honestly thought for a second Perry was going to deck Mitt.....maybe in the next one.
Maybe you should ask Barney Fag why he doesn't "understand" the tax code before you bitch about Thomas. Or maybe ask obumbos tax cheat cabinet what they "forgot" to pay. Liberals....................................
I am watching this debate over and these guys really scare me. They are trying to get applause more than coming up with solutions. When they are not cutting each other down they cut the President.
These guys will say anything to please the crowd, they will eat other or the President. I would vote for the guy that talked about creating unity instead of division.
Was Newt there? Why doesn't anyone ever mention Newt? If he was there how did He do? I believe the whole world of media ignores Newt. I tell all, Newt bears watching. Much of the time no one but Newt knows where he is. That is dangerous as a loaded and cocked gun cast aside in a crowd. With no one looking Newt is liable to try and mess with some young naive woman or steal something from some old person. Newt's running for the republican nomination. The media should watch him more carefully. Newt's up to something.
First off, I'm not a liberal and if Franks did cheat on his taxes then yes of course he deserves a bunk right next to Wesley Snipes. Now if you ask me to rank a tax cheater versus a Supreme Court Justices that was bribed, I, and hopefully most sane people, will say that a bribed Judge is one of the worst white collar crimes out there. Our entire justice system is biased on our trust of judges and if they can corrupt the highest of the high judges then we need to set a precedent to make sure all current and future Justices fully realize the weight of their responsibility.
Oskar, please explain yourself in regards to connecting Obama with GE and a supposed cronyism... are you talking about their lack of paying taxes??? I would have to point out that would NOT be an Obama thing, but a fed tax loop hole created by congress (I would bet republicans).
My hope is Cain and his ties to the Koch Bros and his idiotic 9-9-9 plan will all come to light and he will sink to the bottom of the pond where he belongs. His plan was hatched by Kochs who are so hooked on sucking all the money they can out of the US. The majority of Americans will pay much MORE in taxes with his plan, but the rich will have a huge cut in taxes. That seems fair right????
Don't think we'll be seeing much of Paul. I'm pretty sure that, like the frog, I mean Newt, they're just to embarrassed to trot him out on stage with an open mike.
Isn't it amazing at how much they back stab inside their own party? They're well practiced! So typical of the Republican Party. They just can't seem to rely on themselves without such tactics.
The Immigration issue is a very hot topic and never been played well by either Democrats or Republican. Lets not forget that who build this nation and wrote its constitution the immigrants did. Anti-immigration views just like ant-semitism it is very equally abused nationwide unprofessional seperation between criminals and immigrants. The point is that subject is hurting the values and human rights on the long run, lets not forget that every American has a foreign ancestry, and lets not shoot ourself in the leg over this issue. Criminals must be deported and we all agree on that, but the point that US born childrens have been deported in violation to the constitution, whether one family member is undocumented, so issue went beyond the human right values in violation to the American public interest. I am not trying to educate people here, what I want to say that amnesty is your only hope for economical recovery and nothing else will build the trust in American human values and generate a quick cash flow into bank accounts real estate and others. I am not trying to offend Alabama for its anti-immigration policy, so this view is for the public interest only.
They have had plenty of practice backstabbing Mr Obama these past few years. It is amusing watching them eat each other. Cain failed miserably, Perry was more obnoxious than ever, and the rest were just droll and self-absorbed. They supposedly have all these great ideas for jobs, yet the only thing we have ever seen is the same "Deregulate, lower taxes, and drill baby drill" nonsense. Hasn't worked, won't work, and won't get any of these idiots elected. With the GOP/TP looking past Huntsmen and Johnson they have no chance at the White House in 2012.
These are the same guys who blasted Obama's jobs plan, but they have nothing but theories and maybes to offer instead. The GOP is really quick to dole out billions of taxpayers dollars to their masters, Wall Street, big bankers, and huge corporations, but won't even discuss getting those same taxpayers a break with a jobs program.
Cain on his 9-9-9 plan sounds a lot like Obama on his healthcare plan. He won't release the details and keeps insisting everyone believe the analysis of the plan that his people created. Let us read the actual plan, Mr. Cain. We are capable of telling if it raises taxes on the poor and lower middle class. (I firmly believe it does!)
Aldos.....The United Syates was built on LEGAL immigration once it became a nation. We are built on rule of law. Amnesty is not a viable option because of the high influx of low skilled people takes jobs, tax money and service from U.S. Citizens.
The United Syates was built on LEGAL immigration once it became a nation.
Indeed - but there is no Ellis Island equivalent. Then, all you had to do was show up and register - now its a process that takes several years and thousands of dollars.
Amnesty is not a viable option because of the high influx of low skilled people takes jobs, tax money and service from U.S. Citizens.
Even illegal immigrant workers can be issued a tax-payer identification number to pay their share. Many employers choose not to utilize it though for a variety of bottomline reasons.
Amnesty would only be a viable option if the borders are secured, otherwise it would be pretty much pointless since it wouldn't really fix anything in the long-term.
All of you people like me who know that Ron Paul is the ONLY candidate not owned by the Marxist or the corporate raiders need to be ready to mount a massive write in campaign when the professional politicians, anal megalomaniacs, socialists, filthy rich and dirt poor leeches, and one world order fascists push Ron completely off the stage. (I think they already have). Maybe he will run as an independent or libertarian when the GOP rejects him. Regardless, we need to be ready to give him all of the support we can. The people I talk to are MUCH more in favor of him then the puppets on the Las Vegas stage.
Anyone in Wichita, Kansas who is sick and tired of the insane governmental status quo, please contact me so that we can get organized and started NOW!!!
I turned the channel and watched Downsized--just to get a voyeuristic taste of what life is going to be like for even more Americans in a few years. Republican thugocracy..sickening.
I see a long list of blathering coming from the drones that are operated by the liberal dilemna party of this country and I notice that anyone that wishes to speak thier mind against obama is being collapsed. You cant silence the majority children. Your precious obama will join the ranks of his unemployed this next year, and he will be receiving his favorite part about being president, freebies for the rest of his life.
"Cain's surge came at the expense of Perry; his supporters were mostly especially conservative Republicans and members of the Tea Party."
I find it interesting that the Democrats and leftist media attacked the Tea Party as being 'racist', but Herman Cain's main support comes from the Tea Party.
Of course we don't see the outright racism and anti-semitism of the 'Occupy Wall Street' reported in the same media. I wonder why? Perhaps because the Democrats are starting to embrace the movement made up largely of anarchists, socialists and communists?
A poll of the 'occupy' group shows that about 65% of them blame Washington for the economic mess and only about 35% blame Wall Street. Perhaps they should be protesting at the White House - the source of the policies that have created a 'jobless recovery'.
You attack people for being stupid...when you point your finger..three are pointing back at you..Use logic and reason...then I might consider you worthy of debate. Otherwise...blah..blah...blah..I mean really! Where is your argument and logic?
Here's the logical insightful arguments of your people whom you purport to defend:
Plenty of Hemorrhoid pain watching this. [It's] like watching a bunch of midgets box it out. pathetic group of crooks and corrupt self-serving idiots. these jokers [don't] have any clue this group of clowns absolutely pathetic truly "mental-midgets They're bad, naughty boys just like Craig said!! LMFAO!!! TP nuts or plastic-head Romney, Republicon azzhats If any of these GOP jokers get elected we'll all be the biggest losers Ringling Brothers Circus. REPUBLICANS fill the room with *ULL@!$%#! KNEE DEEP! Too bad it's all garbage. These Republican debates remind me of a circus. A bunch of clowns with all their propaganda baggage and sleight of hand tricks. Vote for whoever you want...I'll take care of those abortions for you myself. I no longer see these Ron Paul loons . But yeah, he is about as crazy as they get. Take your Ron Paul lunacy and try to sell it someplace else. ALL of their "leaders" are raving lunatics
Abusive ad hominem (also called personal abuse or personal attacks) usually involves insulting or belittling one's opponent in order to attack his claim or invalidate his argument, but can also involve pointing out factual but apparent character flaws or actions that are irrelevant to the opponent's argument. This tactic is logically fallacious because insults and negative facts about the opponent's personal character have nothing to do with the logical merits of the opponent's arguments or assertions.
Debasing present participle of de•base (Verb) 1. Reduce (something) in quality or value; degrade. 2. Lower the moral character of (someone):
You people are correct. You are the 99%. You are the 99% of the posters on the vine who's intellectual arguments amount to empty, blind, Abusive Ad Hominem arguments and Debasing of anyone who doesn't share your world view.
The monumental amount of hypocrisy you share as a group is stifling. Your ability to stick your heads in the sand and declare every word out of another human beings mouth a joke, pathetic, BS, propaganda, loony, crazy, etc only shows how very little worth you put in the value of thought and delineates just how one dimensional you are.
A poll of the 'occupy' group shows that about 65% of them blame Washington for the economic mess and only about 35% blame Wall Street. Perhaps they should be protesting at the White House - the source of the policies that have created a 'jobless recovery'.
Roy, They are referring to the Republican Congress....
I sat there and listened to the whole debate, pondering the obvious: they acted like cannibals, eating their own kind.
Surely, there has to be a civil way to explain to their constituency what they stand for. Slaughtering your opponents, then hiring them as running mates, makes for shaky alliances.
WoodieRae: That is standard operating procedure in ALL debates. Thats why hilary clinton started about obamas birth certificate, biden said of obama that the white house was no place for "on the job training".
They are saying the bail out went to the wrong people and, if you can remember anything, the Republicans were in control when the bailout occurred. Democrats went along because, at that point, anyone with a brain realized the economy would have completely collapsed if we didn't bail out the banks, or the homeowners, and conservative said over and over that they would never bail out a homeowner who made a bad decision - but they would bail out the banks who made bad decisions (although, for the banks, it turned out rather nicely, didn't it).
No spin ,just the facts. BTW, Fannie and Freddie held just 20% of the sub-prime loans when the housing collapse happened. That's another fact.
No spin ,just the facts. BTW, Fannie and Freddie held just 20% of the sub-prime loans when the housing collapse happened. That's another fact.
Fannie and Freddie originated many of the loans, especially the more risky ones, and then sold them enmasse to stupid bankers. The only loans F&F had were the ones they had not unloaded yet.
Was Newt there? Why doesn't anyone ever mention Newt? If he was there how did He do? I believe the whole world of media ignores Newt. I tell all, Newt bears watching.
Newt was there. I think Newt is smart and has a lot of good ideas.
Unfortunately, Newt has to much baggage to run. Not to mention, the young whipper snappers who predominantly post on NV have never even heard of him. I wonder if they were even born when he was Speaker of the House. Yeah - he used to have Boehner's job.
I appreciate how ALL the candidates contributed to our national debate.
Romney won AGAIN - hands down.
Hello Mr. President Romney in 2012!
I am an independent voter and I approve this message.
Nobody want failed ideologies from Russia Cuba and Europe . No hope, 53 % of Americans support capitalism and free market
But when it comes to immigration, the modern Republican Party (in stark contrast to the expressed views of Abraham Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt, and Ronald Reagan) want the federal government to decide who can and can not be hired for which job.
That's not free market, it smacks more of the failed ideologies of the Soviet Union, except that the Soviet Union at least had the good sense to revise their centrally planning goals every five years. We have a bunch of idiot politicians who set quotas for 'types' of immigrants in 1986, as though they had some kind of magic crystal ball or that the needs of our economy would never, ever change.
Well why don't you enlighten us all by giving some sources and facts? Prove it instead of saying something untrue and expecting us to believe whatever you write. Afterall, you're tring to say that banks were forced into making huge amounts of money against their will....laughable.
The United Syates was built on LEGAL immigration once it became a nation.
For most if our history, immigration meant merely showing up. No visas required, no advance permission required, no politicians to decide who was or wasn't acceptable.
And if you read the Declaration of Independence, the Founding Fathers condemned the King of England as a tyrant for RESTRICTING immigration.
Amnesty is not a viable option
If you get a speeding ticket and pay the fine, that is not amnesty. When the Civil War ended, hundreds of thousands of treasonous and seditious traitors (Confederate soldiers and politicians) were granted AMNESTY. That is the only time in our nation's history amensty has been granted.
But if you look at Reagan's so-called amnesty, it worked magnificently. The people who became citizens are now productive members of our society. NOT ONE SINGLE PERSON has opined otherwise. IT WORKED.
As for the idiotic restrictions on immigration that came in the wake of Reagan's 'amnesty', those rules DID NOT WORK. Take the quota of 5,000 on "unskilled laborers". For 20 years after the quota was imposed in 1986, American businesses hired an average of roughly 500,000 foreign born, low skilled laborers and trained them, giving them the skills needed to provide one of the longest lasting economic booms in our nation's history. Twenty years at half a million a year, and you get 10 million unauthorized immigrants. We need them. We need them to be citizens, work hard, and pay taxes, which is what they want.
the high influx of low skilled people takes jobs, tax money and service from U.S. Citizens.
The claim that immigrants, authorized or not, eliminate jobs and services is a big, fat lie. They create jobs, expand the economy, and pay more in taxes than they receive in services, as every reputable study om the matter has shown. In Texas alone, unauthorized immigrants add $17.7 billion annually to the state GDP and pay in a NET of well over $400 million in taxes paid over the cost of services received per year. Nationally, unauthrized immigrants pay in over $8 billion in Social Security contributions every year, even though they will never receive one penny in benefts. Want them to pay MORE taxes? Make it LEGAL!
Well said, commonsense. The anti-immigrant rhetoric is just the fear tactic dujour. Republicans like to stir up their base with pseudo issues that appeal to the emotions -- and it works great for them. Abortion, marriage equality (anything to do with homosexuality works great), evolution, etc, etc. It is not about facts like the ones you so clearly state. It is about emotion and fear.
Hey rednawt, I'd start a write in campaign for God, but I think Elmer Fudd has him beat at the moment, so maybe I'll start a write in campaign for him. Elmer Fudd for President in 2012!
Yep another four years of unemployment going up..more food stamps .. I'm in..and btw, I expect you to pay for it!! and any abortions I may want, and my health care, and my housing.. and my gas.. after all I won't need to do anything but sick back and let you pay for me.. thanks ..
I could care less if people like Obama, but it is entertaining to see how worked up people get about how "terrible" things are. Doesn't matter what the topic is. Mix together some ramblings about freeloaders, socialism, and a "nanny state" with a few dumb names (libtards, obummer, and the like), and you can pretty much nail what they are going to say.
My question would be......the recession started before Obama was even sworn in. The Republican congress continues to block any efforts made to actually get things done to improve unemployment, all the while not really doing anything themselves to fix the problem. What, specifically, has he done as President that has made your life so terrible? What has the Republican led congress done to fix the problem? Anything? Can you name one thing? They sure do talk a big game about "restoring our country" and "getting things back on track," yet they don't do squat about it.
When you remove all of the BS and talking points from the discussion, I'd challenge people to really dig down and think about why they are so angry with him. My two big reasons would be his lack of ability to get things done and that he didn't tear the financial industry a new one after the meltdown. Past that, things are pretty much the same.
Trish spoke the Fox News talking points like a pro. Too bad it's all garbage.
These Republican debates remind me of a circus. A bunch of clowns with all their propaganda baggage and sleight of hand tricks. There once was a time when they could spend the whole debate discussing the smokescreens among themselves. The abortion, the gays, the flag, pro war. Truth is, those "tools" don't work anymore. People are fed up with bigotry, homophobia, war, and flag wrapping. Voters now require a bit more than passé games. It would be most appropriate if the Republican debates had background music. "Entry of the Gladiators" would be perfect.
Trish didn't even make any sense. Is she referring to unemployment benefits that were paid for out of the recipients paychecks when they were employed? The welfare programs that have existed for decades? The bailouts that happened under Bush?
Cudos to CNN for having the best debate so far. Anderson Cooper took a few shots at Cain but otherwise did a good job. There were alot of solid questions asked.
Cain is a crackpot. Nothing more. He was dredged from the bowels of the Republican party to run against the black man in the White House. Much like Sarah Palin was belched forth to run as "the woman" in the race. Republicans naively believed Hillary voters would flock to her, just like Republicans believe Cain can appeal to the black vote.
For your information, Gypsy, the tea party was a corporate co-opted fluke whose time has ran out. Fox News, Glenn Beck, and discouraged Democrats were the only reason Republicans gained in 2010. The tea party victories are in the past and will likely remain there. It's a new dawn. People know what Fox news is now. It's effectiveness as a propaganda tool has been greatly diminished. People have soured on Republicans and it's showing all over the world!
Trish, you didn't mention buying other people's prescription medicine. Was that because the GOP and G W Bush passed that UNFUNDED mandate? In his Medicare Part D bill. I put their names in BOLD for you
"The bill was debated and negotiated for nearly six months in Congress, and finally passed amid unusual circumstances. Several times in the legislative process the bill had appeared to have failed, but each time was saved when a couple of Congressmen and Senators switched positions on the bill.
The bill was introduced in the House of Representatives early on June 25, 2003 as H.R. 1, sponsored by Speaker Dennis Hastert. All that day and the next the bill was debated, and it was apparent that the bill would be very divisive. In the early morning of June 27, a floor vote was taken. After the initial electronic vote, the count stood at 214 yeas, 218 nays.
Three Republican representatives then changed their votes. One opponent of the bill, Ernest J. Istook, Jr. (R-OK-5), changed his vote to "present" upon being told that C.W. Bill Young (R-FL-10), who was absent due to a death in the family, would have voted "aye" if he had been present. Next, Republicans Butch Otter (ID-1) and Jo Ann Emerson (MO-8) switched their vote to "aye" under pressure from the party leadership. The bill passed by one vote, 216-215.
On June 26, the Senate passed its version of the bill, 76-21. The bills were unified in conference, and on November 21, the bill came back to the House for approval.
The bill came to a vote at 3 a.m. on November 22. After 45 minutes, the bill was losing, 219-215, with David Wu (D-OR-1) not voting. Speaker Dennis Hastert and Majority Leader Tom DeLay sought to convince some of dissenting Republicans to switch their votes, as they had in June. Istook, who had always been a wavering vote, consented quickly, producing a 218-216 tally. In a highly unusual move, the House leadership held the vote open for hours as they sought two more votes. Then-Representative Nick Smith (R-MI) claimed he was offered campaign funds for his son, who was running to replace him, in return for a change in his vote from "nay" to "yea." After controversy ensued, Smith clarified no explicit offer of campaign funds was made, but that he was offered "substantial and aggressive campaign support" which he had assumed included financial support.
About 5:50 a.m., convinced Otter and Trent Franks (AZ-2) to switch their votes. With passage assured, Wu voted yea as well, and Democrats Calvin M. Dooley (CA-20), Jim Marshall (GA-3) and David Scott (GA-13) changed their votes to the affirmative. But Brad Miller (D-NC-13), and then, Republican John Culberson (TX-7), reversed their votes from "yea" to "nay". The bill passed 220-215.
The Democrats cried foul, and Bill Thomas, the Republican chairman of the Ways and Means committee, challenged the result in a gesture to satisfy the concerns of the minority. He subsequently voted to table his own challenge; the tally to table was 210 ayes, 193 noes.
The Senate's consideration of the conference report was somewhat less heated, as cloture on it was invoked by a vote of 70-29. However, a budget point of order raised by Tom Daschle, and voted on. As 60 votes were necessary to override it, the challenge was actually considered to have a credible chance of passing.
For several minutes, the vote total was stuck at 58-39, until Senators Lindsey Graham (R-SC), Trent Lott (R-MS), and Ron Wyden (D-OR) voted in quick succession in favour to pass the vote 61-39.The bill itself was finally passed 54-44 on November 25, 2003, and was signed into law by the President on December 8."
Everyone knows that most blacks hate (more than anything else) successful blacks that made it on their own without handouts. They are labelled as an Uncle Tom, sellout and other derogatory names
If Cain is the nominee he might get 1 or 2 from the black community..
I'm not voting for Obama. I'm voting against whichever clown on that stage gets the nomination. The only declared Republican candidatea making sense are Huntsman and Paul occasionally. Are these guys (yes, including Obama) really the best we can do?
Cain is more like appealing to the common sense approach to things. At least he has some new ideas on steering America back to work, and paying down the 14 plus trillion dollar IOU the last two honorable gentlemen in the White House managed to give to the rest of the world and the next three generations of American citizens. Mad about abortions? Teach your kids about sex, don't be so naive and think "My little girl wouldn't"...Because like it or not human nature is human nature. No magician in the sky is going to stop kids from experimenting, pushing boundries, and feeling like they can't live without their first or second crush. Do ANY of you remember what you felt like at 15, 16, 17? Hormones raging, wanting to be respected as a grown up? And that's just one of the "touch-stone" issues. Illeagal imigration. Personally I think deporting everyone not here leagally IS the answer. Then we can start to figure out how many LEGAL immigrants the country needs and can afford. I don't blame anyone for trying to improve their lot in life, that too, is human nature. But doing so the right way is the only way ANY law should allow. Been here for years? SO WHAT? They don't stop looking for a murderer because he hasn't killed for years, why in the world should this country let you stay because you broke the law for so long?!
The Gypsy is inviting all to her coming out party. Oh wait, oops, she already came out - as a pure right-wing racist.
All those who do not think like The Gypsy are on crack, according to her. And all blacks are looking for handouts and resent successes among them!
OH THAT'S RICH, GYPSY HUN!
Remember the moonies anyone? It looks like we need to re-open some of the rehab centers that used to treat them. I know a couple of demented Fox News viewers who suffer from the same malady. Yes Gypsy, you are one of them.
Jack Colten: While I may not 100% agree with you,but I love the fact that you use logic in your arguments. What a refreshing change from propaganda spewers. The fact remains that the Republicans have run out or ideas. They keep peddling the same "trickle down...run-off" thing that didn't work under Reagan. Didn't work under GWB. Does not work. Our democratic process has been undermined by the Supreme Court! And some Justices..(THOMAS AND SCALIA) need to be impeached! They allowed corporations to give unlimited to PACs. That changed the playing field...but we're taking it back.
Before you criticize Obama, think of him as a fireman.
One night your house catches on fire and you call the Obama Fire department to put it out.
But you get to thinking while the Obama Fire Dept is attempting to quench the fire,you.... are going to be blamed for being careless for allowing it to start in the first place by not being responsible.
You then figure that if the house is allowed to burn clear down to the ground, there may not be enough evidence remaining to put the blame on you, for it's starting in the first place.
So you and your friends stand on the water hose to restrict the water flow. As a result the fire overwhelms the available water supply, the house burns to the ground, now you blame the Obama Fire Dept for not saving your house.
When a congress and a Senate block and filibuster all efforts to fix a problem the President is working hard on, they are standing on the remedy hose, and doing it on purpose.
We do not need a new President,...we need a new congress.
Oh here comes the global warming denial. I wondered how long that would take. Anti-Evolution speak should be next, followed by a diatribe about how awful the EPA is and what a burden it is on corporations.
I don't mean to burstyour bubble, but there is no definitive proof that there is global warming. Before the whole thing was politicized scientists said that all it took for another global flood was that the mean temp of both polar ice caps would only be raised by 1 degree centigrade. If I am not mistaken, that is what 2 and a half degrees F? Too many scientist have data that suggest cooling and most have data that say it is warming, but barely, and that it doesn't warrant the scare tactics, that are being used to force a job killing economic agenda on the West, when it is the East that is polluting the hell out of the world.
If you expect me to hand this country over to the same party we tolerated for 8 long years, who murdered 4000 american soldiers in an unjust war, crushed our economy and sent us back to 1929 which will take a decade to recover, let the number one most wanted go at Tora Bora while claiming he wasn't a concern, deregulated big business to the point of legalizing theft by deception, and dumbed down our students by passing every child regardless of their education with the No Child Left Behind Act...
... you better come up with somebody other than Bush-lite Perry, Bat @!$%# Crazy Bachman, Obama-Lite Romney, 999 Cain, or the guru of business- Trump.
Until then, I'll go ahead and keep the lame brain we got now instead of training another Big Business Lacky for the job.
What do you want? Endless posts from the 99.9% of credible climatologists and other scientists who have arrived at the same conclusion via investigation of the facts and a keen understanding of the history of the planet? Do your own research. Everybody else has. Besides this post is about the latest appearance of the Koch Brothers and Republican Party Circus.
BTW, the Vaseline wasn't ingested, silly, just got a little on the mouse, that's all.
I thought you going to give a link to scientific study that proves otherwise, oh wait, you don't have one. You giving me a link to news article, which we all know is biased and who knows the source. There thousands of scientific evidence on global warming. Yes scientist know its not solid like sky is blue and water is liquid but there are changes that recorded that never happened that fast in any history of Earth. Why you waiting for to world to end to find out you wrong? I rather be wrong and have cleaner air to breath.
This country has already been trashed by visions of federal government utopia that will never materialize.
If Barry wins a second term, he will pursue all of his grandiose big government promises that are not yet fulfilled.
But voters will still vote for him because of his color, his compelling speeches, and because of his left-wing agenda. God forbid if the union doesn't back a candidate or the pop media paints a negative picture of a candidate (which they rarely ever do with a Democrat).
Liberals will always vote Democrat because of global warming concerns, abortion, gay rights, entitlements, or assumptions that Republicans are only for the "rich". One issue voters are devoid of critical thinking skill and are a danger to this country. Let's not forget that Democrats are "cool".
Ever see the movie "It's a Wonderful Life"?
No doubt a lot of Viners would trade Bedford Falls for Pottersville if only they could have the "Age of Aquarius" come to fruition.
I give up: Legalize ALL narcotics and tax the heck out of them, legalize prostitution and force prostitutes to register with the government and pay licensing fees as well as a "use tax", open the darn borders and let them all in, provide everything possible for "free", and jack up everyone's taxes to pay for it all. Allow gay marriage and polygamy (why not, who's to judge?). Ban all displays of crosses or Christian symbolism in public (Jewish symbolism, Menorahs and the Star of David, included). Let's save money on jails and not incarcerate anyone for drug offenses, including robbery and burglary to fuel drug habits...but put people away in prison for first time DUI's. Why not imprison anyone who isn't PC while we are at it? Ban all "hate speech".
9 out of 10 Kool-Aid drinkers prefer Pottersville because they can darn well do whatever they want, damn the consequences. "D' Nile" is a river in Egypt, not a mistaken version of reality. Give the poor people more handouts and they'll be happy...just like they were in Rome with free daily bread and Gladiator games!
The "invincible" USA is like the "unsinkable" Titanic heading for the iceberg. It would have been better for the captain to hit the obstacle head on and deal with the repairable damage. The ship would have limped to port but would have survived. Voters in the US would be wise to pick a TEA Party candidate who embraces Reaganomics to fix our economic woes rather than go for the "quick fix" which our "enlightened" representatives have done for quite awhile, without success.
NOBODY BACK IN THE DAY THOUGHT THAT THE ROMAN OR GREEK EMPIRES WOULD FALL, YET THEY DID. WE ARE ON THE SAME COURSE...
PUT THE NAIL IN THE COFFIN AND ELECT THE "ANOINTED ONE" FOR A SECOND TERM!
I recall that sometime in the past, those who were referred to as "gypsies" were sent to camps and exterminated by similar sounding bigots and dictators.
Listen folks if you want more of the same bull@!$%# we've had, vote for Obama, or Romney, or Perry, or even Cain, but, if you want some real change.... Ron Paul 2012!
Very dramatic, Ford, but Pottersville is the Republican option, remember? The people, like OWS, got together to save the little guy from the big business bully that wanted to take everything away from everyone.
That's why I can't vote republican. I don't want America to become Republiville, where the company buys you a trailer, and you BETTER like it.
And end the EPA as well. No thanks Ron Paul person, we've been there and done that.
Pardon the cliché, but those of us old enough to remember the days before the EPA find Ron Paul's views at some point between crackpot and insane. Those of us who lost loved ones as a direct result from being exposed to toxic chemicals carelessly dumped by greedy corporations, not to mention those of us who had the audacity to build a house near what was to become a "Superfund Site". Don't even get me started on that.
You do not need the EPA if you have a constitutional government that respects property rights, which is what Ron Paul is all about. Currently the government lets big corporations get away with polluting by not defending our property rights with the judicial system.
The government has sided with big business since the first rail road cut through the countryside. Back then, farmers filed suit against the rail roads for polluting their crops adjacent to the rails. The government sided with the rail roads, ignoring the property rights of the farmers, and have continued siding with big business ever since.
Wow... 3 simple ignore author posts and I no longer see these Ron Paul loons. But yeah, he is about as crazy as they get. That he has any supporters at all is beyond mindboggling. The only GOP candidates that make any sense at all are Huntsmen and Johnson... so I guess it is 4 more years for Obama. Maybe with a clean democratic sweep of congress we can get something done.
Chris82mil....In case you don't know how this works....when you "ignore author".....you are the only one that doesn't see them anymore....everyone else still does. So, if you think you accomplished something for the greater liberal progressive cause......not true,grasshopper....
But the Anti-free speech collapser brigade is out in force.....as usual....
Ron Paul and his ilk use property rights as a way to justify abolishing the EPA. Corporations are people with property rights, you know, according to their logic. These corporations can dump whatever they want to on their property. See how it works, Mike.
Take your Ron Paul lunacy and try to sell it someplace else. Nobody's buying it here.
I do believe I need to start using ignore with these Ron Paul cheerleaders also. I'm sick and tired of hearing their nonsense.
Climategate is starting to become the Nebraska Man of global warming, often used by liars and the ignorant to 'prove' a point - even though they don't know the facts about the case to which they are referring..
It is refreshing to know that the TP types never resort to personal attacks while trying to further their nonsense about the libertard, teleprompter using, socialist, kenyan, oreo, marxist, anti american President we have in the white house presently.
Jack Colton - looks like you've left, but still wanted to observe that you are far too intelligent for this group of intellectual lightweights like Four Points.
John from Jacksonville - yours will be the first comment I ever cut and paste from one of these forums. You are a genius. Could you run, or at least moderate future debates?
But this circle jerk of useless "sharing" that I pointed out was a pretty relentless continuous diatribe of emptiness. I think we'd find 1 person out of a 100 trying to actually take apart specific points from the debate and have a meaningful conversation about the merits of those specific points in this particular vine. Instead it's just more of the mindless drivel of droning Partisanship that both sides bitch about not realizing they are all in the same party. The party that is for consolidation and centralization of power in Washington to control the masses. Republicans on the right with corporate lobby, and Democrats on the left with one size fits all Social Constructs.
For me the issue of jobs and the economy is important for sure. But when both parties have come to together to create seat of power ripe for tyranny, that to me is the greatest threat.
Hitler gained his power through popularity. It's naive to think history can't repeat itself and bring in a new charismatic leader like Hitler who then has these powers already in place.
A media that operates with complete bias and purposely tries to sway the public opinion.
A Presidential office that can legislate using executive orders.
A Presidential office that can declare wars without congress.
A Presidential office that can execute Americans without Due Process
An Intelligence agency that can monitor all activities of a citizen without a Search Warrant.
A Police force that is increasingly being militarized. (e.g. the NYPD that can now "take down planes")
I frankly don't care who's ends up in office as long as it's someone that going to reverse this trend. That's not Obama. It's not likely any future Democrat. It's not any of the Republican candidates or future ones - EXCEPT Ron Paul. He IS the 1 in a million politician that will undue the consolidation of power.
That's evidenced (in part) by his not taking a lucrative Congressional Pension (opting out himself) and by being willing to take not 400k in Presidential salary but the median American Income of 39k to do the job. He's the only guy that isn't really part of, nor wants to be, part of the machine (the system).
The economy, jobs, foreign affairs, immigration, socialism of medicine and retirement will all work itself out under any one under the same single party we have "Republicrats". Undoing the groundwork for Tyranny will not.
Four Points Shy of Genius seems about six floors below common sense. Reminds me of a very old saying: "The wise are not learned, and the learned are not wise." Both can co-exist, but not without balance. Arrogance negates them both.
Abusive ad hominem (also called personal abuse or personal attacks) usually involves insulting or belittling one's opponent in order to attack his claim or invalidate his argument, but can also involve pointing out factual but apparent character flaws or actions that are irrelevant to the opponent's argument. Neither of you made any point to counter my assertion that consolidation of power is the greatest threat and the powers for tyranny already exist.
Both of you simply attacked me personally as either having low intelligence and/or being arrogant. Both of you just did exactly what I'm talking about and used Abusive Ad Hominem and Debasement rather than use critical thinking to discuss a point.
Thank you for proving my point. Your type is the aforementioned 99%. Your type are the problem.
Four Points is right. You guys may disagree with him, but at least provide some counter to his argument as opposed to simply name-calling and disregarding his whole post. Seems to me you couldn't really come up with any? Or am I wrong?
So, if you think you accomplished something for the greater liberal progressive cause...
Actually, it is like weeding. If you just mow the weeds they come back just as fast as the grass. If you pull them out by the roots, it stays weed free longer. A bit of work for longer lasting weed-free yards! And if weeds bother you, it is worth the effort!!
As far as believing there is some greater purpose served when ignoring authors, I doubt anyone thinks that. Collapsing should be left for extreme posts only, such as multiple rants/reposts, advertising, trolling, shilling, threating, etc.
I love not seeing the few posters I have on ignore. And the option is always there to remove the ignore, as I have done with a couple of folks. We can still open an ignored author to judge if his behaviour has modified in any way. Usually, it does not, but there are exceptions.
Peace
ps - Mike in Delray, your Obama/profile pic is quite dizzying!!
You ask for intellectual exchange of ideas and for "us" to counter your points. Let's examine the points I think you were making and it seemed quite far from "the consolidation of power and powers of tyranny" and much more the, not so subliminal, comparison of Hitler to the present Administration by your use of comparison between Nazi Germany and the Obama White House. That sir is an insult to the millions of Jews and other ethnic groups targeted by the Nazis. By your narrow mindedness you have proven not worthy to debate the issue when using such inflammatory comparisons and a real disconnect of the seriousness of the atrocities committed by the Nazi regime. To compare our government to than is ludicrous. Your partisanship is also evident when taking the quotes of bloggers who disparage the TP types, but never said a word about the attacks on Liberals, I addressed this in my comment #2.48
As to your candidate of choice, Ron Paul, you know he will never be elected to the office of President because even his wife knows not to buy green bananas.
I don't think Four Points cares that his Hitler comparison is utterly ridiculous and an insult to the memory of the victims of that evil man. He only cares about debating points. And he isn't "shy" about using inflammatory tactics that prey on people's emotions.
It's not an attack on this Administration. It's pointing out the truth of the powers now contained within the office of the Presidency and the current state of affairs. It's just as "possible" that a Republican abuses those powers as it is a Democrat.
Both Republicans and Democrats created this situation and I'm saying that Ron Paul is the only candidate who is pointing it out and making in roads to resolving it.
Name one other person that said they will refuse to use signing orders.
Name one other person that said they would end warrentless search warrants.
Name one other person that said they would end using Black Water as a secret police.
The powers used to be contained in the three branches of Government. They aren't any more. Many of them have been given to the POTUS.
The idea that dismantling the government is the answer to unemployment and solving the economic issues we face is absurd. Any industry in the global economy that can "bring the whole house down" needs to have more regulation than ever before, the financial industry being the number one target. They shouldn't be able to move a chair in a basement of a bank without someone knowing about it.
You should be using a smaller local bank, rather than a conglomerate one. But you don't because the very regulations you want, only come directly from the conglomerates who send lobbyist to DC to get only those regulations that kill competition pushed into law.
There wouldn't be banks that intermingle there Board of Directors with the very people in the government charged with watching the financial markets. Watch "The Inside Job" about the housing bubble and the bailout, and you'll see the monumental amount of collusion the government (you don't want to reduce) had with Goldman and AIG in our down economic downfall.
The method of the free market system is that competition is the main contributing factor to keeping honest corporations. In the free market if a company is wronging the people the people go to another company. The problem is when government comes in with the good natured idea to "regulate" bad things that could happen. In that senario a corporation is given opportunity to leverage their power through lobby to use that governmental regulatory power to instead weed out competition. Then the people have no power to make a choice. The only choices are the mega corps.
From a previous commentary I wrote on another vine,
Let's say you have a great new idea for an electric car, and have the means to go into business for yourself and create one off electric cars. What likely prevents you from making that car are all the Government imposed regulations that we’re enacted by a Mega-Corp Car Manufacturers Lobbyists’ in Washington who help create those regulations to muscle out competition. Now at face those regulations “sound” and likely “are” helpful. e.g including Seat Belts. But remove that regulation and what happens. The free market begins to function unfettered. So Joe consumer then can decide for himself do I want a car with seatbelts that’s safer, or do I want your (the readers) new electric car.
But seat belts should be required you say. The government should make sure to impose rules on companies so that cars are safe (banks don’t rip people off, drugs don’t contain poisons, food doesn’t have contaminates, etc, etc,). If it’s the government’s role to make sure that people are moral then they should all have us living in padded cells eating premeasured portions of nutrients while working away on laptop’s where it’s impossible to get hurt.
It’s the individual’s responsibility to be moral and make choices for themselves not the Government’s. So if I make the choice to purchase your electric car and am injured in a car crash (because I wasn’t provided a seat belt), I either made that choice (that you as a company disclosed as an issue making me responsible), or I sue you and you don’t have a business anymore. In the latter case the Market corrects a company’s actions if it was engaged in wrong doing. Might someone get hurt in the processes? Yes. But frankly that’s life. Again unless you’re government is going to us in padded cells of “protection” the hurt comes, the company goes down and the next company probably does something to correct the problem to protect themselves.
In this fictitious electric car companies example, the next guy making the car probably puts in seat belts or does provide a disclaimer so the consumer is informed of the risks. After all the company doesn’t really “want” to have unsafe car’s… those don’t sell as well.
As this pertains to the Goldman Sac’s of the world, the government made the situation worse. Not only were they creating regulations according to the very people that were on the Board of Directors at Goldman’s, those same Board Members then became part of the government and convinced the Fed that they needed to be “bailed out” because they were “too big to fail”. I call BS. If they had failed new companies would have immediately sprung up to fill the vacuum and we’d likely be in REAL recovery now. Sure millions of people would have lost money, and had their homes foreclosed, but that’s what SHOULD happen. The faster the market corrects the problem the faster we get to recovery.
Great, but you left out the worker in your analysis. Where will he get the choice in the "free market". Also your "free market" would favor the company over the individual, so you may not be able to sue. You give the right to the company to go to what ever means necessary to eliminate those legal costs, less suites. You are giving the "right" all to the producer of the product.
He gets the choice from having a greater variety of companies within a particular industry to work at for the best possible wage. Watching again the first Milton you tube, and see how a company is actually penalized for paying a higher wage. The power the worker has over the company is in his value to do the work for less than his competitor while affording themselves the ability to become more highly trained in that industry.
The "free market" doesn't favor the company over the individual, because the individuals collectively and ultimately controls the market, not the government, not the companies via lobby and legislated regulation. It's only into today's economy and governmental regulation structure that happens in.
Of course the individual could sue. Court is a trial by jury. A group of individuals determines if there has been a wrong worthy of penalty. But your right there would probably be a lot less BS lawsuits as a result. In my example above, we could say it's possible that only one car company had ever made cars with seat belts. I then get injured in your electric car that didn't have them. You would argue that because there's no law requiring seat belts in cars that the company can't be sued. Well maybe they shouldn't be. I'm the guy who bought your electric car without seatbelts. Isn't that my responsibility?? Isn't preserving my own self-interest (of preventing injury to myself in a car wreck) my responsibility?
I think it is. As you mention it has an interesting side effect, then again costs come down for everyone as people and companies are no longer constantly suing each other over what should be the individual's responsibility.
Any one that would use that screen name has to have serious self-esteem issues. I have seen a few people that post their IQ's as screen names and all of them write crap and think we should believe you because you are SO smart. To me your comments are ridiculous and narcissistic.
It is impossible for me to understand how a person can insult someone and justify the comments by claiming to be intellectually superior to everyone else. You can have a high IQ and but a very low EQ. Before telling everyone else how stupid they are maybe you should take a EQ test and then go see a psychologist and a psychiatrist so you can improve your life. This might eliminate your need to act superior to boost your self-esteem.
Brief comment, you suppose that trial is by jury, not in Erisa, or workman compensation. Those courts use legal precedent, and you yourself know what money and Corporate interest can buy in those Courts. Once the Corporate money obtains the legal precedent, the worker or individual will get screwed, or as you refer to it BS suites.
Also, have you heard of business monopoly's, where wages and benefite are not in line with current standards of living. Yet those employee's who are accomplished in those industry's would have to accept a lower wage/benefit, or as you say go elsewhere.
Any one that would use that screen name has to have serious self-esteem issues. I have seen a few people that post their IQ's as screen names and all of them write crap and think we should believe you because you are SO smart. To me your comments are ridiculous and narcissistic.

Hilarious!!!
Can you say "over-the-top"?
Can you say Abusive Ad Hominem?
Abusive ad hominem (also called personal abuse or personal attacks) usually involves insulting or belittling one's opponent in order to attack his claim or invalidate his argument, but can also involve pointing out factual but apparent character flaws or actions that are irrelevant to the opponent's argument. This tactic is logically fallacious because insults and negative facts about the opponent's personal character have nothing to do with the logical merits of the opponent's arguments or assertions.
Your entire diatribe was all based on your conjecture of who I am as a person because of my screen name. You said nothing of the valid points I'm making and instead (because you have NOTHING to say), personally attacked me.
Your frothing at the mouth over a screen name is so beyond laughable. What's next are you going to tell the guy above me "madmax" that he needs to stop living in a post-apocalyptic world looking for that "last can of precious juice" and see a shrink?
I’m sure you were hoping to get a rise out of me with your Trolling, but all you did is make me laugh. To bad the jokes on you.
I don't think Four Points cares that his Hitler comparison is utterly ridiculous and an insult to the memory of the victims of that evil man.
You two are the ones that read into it more.
And now that I've clarified what was already PERFECTLY clear in my post 2.50, that the powers the OFFICE of the POTUS HAS IN PLACE, from a series of power consolidations over several Presidency's, which is as a result of a single party condolidating that power (the Republican AND Democrats being the two sides of the same coin), are you honestly saying you have no concerns whatsoever for the power now contained within the OFFICE of the Presidency?
Are you saying you can't see any way that these powers could be abused?
Are you saying you can't see any way that one party would be demonized over another to gain power over "the cause of our woes"?
Again, my point is not that today is Nazi Germany, my point is how easily it could become that with these powers in place. I would be more suprised that people don't see the need to fight that power consolidation, but they obviously see themselves in the party that contains the "moral high ground" (regardless of it being the right or left). Sad to realize - so did those of the Nazi Party.
Thanks for the response, but you will have to explain how those with enough money will not rule the courts, or sit on them, and how competition will negate workers or employee's from discrimination, and abuse. China may not be the perfect example but as they become more "free enterprise", many social issues become apparent and in todays technology, the government is having a harder time "keeping the blinders on the serfs", to put it mildly.
Don't forget once your example has differing economic levels for individuals, social implications will arrive.
Your entire diatribe was all based on your conjecture of who I am as a person because of my screen name. You said nothing of the valid points I'm making and instead (because you have NOTHING to say), personally attacked me.
You are incorrect, I didn't give your screen name a second thought until I noticed how you come across as a person that is a know it all. I haven't seen too many valid points to comment on.
You validate my point when you use Latin words to describe a situation and the go on to explain the term like you are teaching children. You do this to every person who does not agree with you.
Can you say "Talking down to people"
Debating you on issues is like trying to teach someone who thinks they already have all of the answers. Have you heard of the Greek story about Narcissus and Echo? It is a interesting story that you might find quite interesting and you could probably relate to it.
I have read quite a few of your posts and sometimes you make some very good and valid points. If you added some humility and dropped the superiority attitude your posts might come across a little less caustic.
You do this to every person who does not agree with you.
No I do this when the definition I provided applies. "Someone attacks me or the person I support's character, rather than attacking my positions". Maybe you're correct however - maybe the majority know what the term means. But it wasn't my intention to talk down to anyone by providing a definition.
Bob disagrees with me and is now having an adult logical conversation, countering points and showing how he sees the out come of my hypotheses. You on the other hand are still personally attacking me rather than my points. It would seem to me that you make my point to assume that most people don't know what Ad Hominem means (including you who still continues to call me a narcissist), and was worthy of defining.
It's interesting how many times a guy that says he come from a Catholic background on his homepage judges the motives in my heart so many times. Have you never read: Judge not let you be judged" or "How can you point out the spec in your brother's eye when you have a stick in your own"? How about "make no oaths, rather let your yes be yes and your no be no"? The later is the one I'm going to use with you right now when I say:
Although you judged me as having the motive to belittle and talk down to others, that was by no means the case. Rather when confronted with a personal attack that has nothing to do with the arguments I was making I simply pointed out in a way that's been accepted since Plato to show that type of logic is fallacious. I want to discuss these issues because I think they are important to our country's future, not because I set myself up on a pedestal of intellectual superiority. It's actually funny to me that a few take my screen name as that declaration, when to me it's actually self deprecating, since it really says, "not quite smart enough to be a genius". I seek knowledge and understanding not dominance and superiority.
That is the truth from my heart.
The truth from yours is that you seem very filled with anger and hatred. I hope that's not the case.
Now to actaully get on topic you said:
I haven't seen too many valid points to comment on.
and
sometimes you make some very good and valid points
Which points do you think are not valid and why? And if your feeling a bit generous, which ones to you agree with and why?
In Ron Paul's plan, Freedman and Heyek's teachings they believe the Free Market will correct all the issues of the day. I am skeptical that there's a utopia at the end of a single social, political, economic theorem (even if it in part does come from a noble prize winner in economics) but most points I've come to be swayed by and agree with.
Bob pokes into the one area I still haven't got "a good feeling about", "that I don't see 100% the merits of" except to hear them say "the competition will resolve it" It's this very reason I use this argument (which I CAN see merits in - but don't see 100%) so that I can hear opposing arguments to test it against or perhaps find someone who understands it better and more fully develops the concept.
This area; Is a corporation is unfettered to do what it does "be greedy", "make profit" does seem in today's world to be at distinct odds with being fair to the worker.
But I can see how competition would help. i.e. if there were 1000 auto companies, vs. 20 the companies (by nature of being smaller) might stand a better chance of paying their workers better. And those smaller companies would be easier to shut down by force of the consumer or the worker refusing to help that corp, since there would be so many other choices.
But without regulation would it be impossible to still have a huge corp? No. And that does leave some doubt or interest in how that would be addressed when it engages in wrong doing. Paul, Milton, Hayek I believe would say that the consumer ultimately has the choice to be wronged or not, and I'm 100% ok with the idea of personal responsibility over nanny state. But their answer in this particular area isn't sufficient yet for me. That's why I discuss it.
I can see were more smaller suppliers of goods and services would give consumers more say as to the viability of one or the other. But from my experiance it will not remove the tiered social structure, as there will still be owners, exeucutives and workers. The economic/ social problem still exists, not less, but broken down into smaller entity's.
There still is the ability for those smaller suppliers of goods to associate with themselves and set prices and supply. I do not see where less regulation, or consumer choice would have the ability to stop it. An example is the rancher upstream of the river who being fortunate needs more water to supply his cattle, so he builds a dam on his property, thus reducing the amount of water for his neighbors downstream.
Are you wanting it removed? Do you think that a lazy half-assed work ethic should be rewarded equally with a highly developed one? (this could apply to any tier).
How about we say for the sake of argument that hypothetically all the people at a company have the exactly same highly developed work ethic. Doesn't the worker have the choice to work somewhere else if they feel unfairly treated?
Should the owner be punished for having the ability, drive, and fortitude to grow a company from a few people to hundreds or thousands by getting pay equal to his workers? Because even if everyone had the same work ethic the workers obviously don't use their own ability, drive and fortitude to create their own businesses. They're obviously happy to work for someone, or they would have their own business. Doesn't the owner deserve more for having the leadership qualities necessary to grow a company into a prosperous one?
What if the owners company is based on some new innovation they came up with? Should the workers share in the profits of the owners idea equally?
How about individual knowledge, if one worker in the company has a highly technical job that requires 6+years of college just understand, should they not make more than someone with a lesser education who can't possibly do the same job?
What do you want as the alternative? Pure Socialism/Communism? Should all of us work for the government and the government hands out equal checks to all of us? I'm wondering because no where that experiment has been tried has it worked to do anything but lower the standard of living of the people while elevating a corrupt oligarchy.
In my scenario of deregulation (which used to be how things were not so long ago in the US - 1936) seen here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J7dVEo8d2qA&feature=related (P.S. Sorry about the opening remark – I didn't make these videos) allows for a substantial increase in the power of the worker via the increase competition creating smaller companies. The smaller the company the more the owner needs to keep his smaller workforce happy.
There still is the ability for those smaller suppliers of goods to associate with themselves and set prices and supply
True; Wal-Mart did this. They ended main street by using the massive buying power of thousands of stores to reduce prices. But they then passed those savings on to the consumer. If the consumer hadn't wanted the lower cost goods, they wouldn't have shopped their and made it successful. Likewise if Wal-Mart ever raised their prices to a point they were no longer competitive, Main Street would reopen their doors with lower prices. The Market dictates what's acceptable in prices and supply.
My response to your first sentence is no, because society is a tiered system and always will be, not a " lazy half-assed work ethic" as you want to call it.
Which I said "could apply to any tier". The question being made is that there "are" lazy people and their are driven people, there are leaders and followers, educated and uneducated, risk takers and non-risk takers, Innovators and non-innovators, and should those differences earn different amounts, each according to their abilities?
Not sure why that question became so offensive you've decided the conversation is over - but hey, to each his own. Cya.
All of these polls indicate a landslide of support for Ron Paul.
Ron Paul is the only candidate who champions the individual and the policies necessary for the survival of the country.
The news media is hell bent on making Ron Paul as obscure as possible for the simple reason that absolutely everything he stands for is constitutionally based and unassailable. What does that mean for the news media, Fox included: No controversy means no news, no head lines, and therefore less advertising. Disgusting, isn't it.
The reason they don't want Ron Paul is that they're scared of him, he's the only candidate that's got the balls to say to the lobbyists, I'll take your money, but I won't change my votes for you. The corporations can't buy him, so they're scared, and he wants to end the fed. A total win-win for our country.
In reality our form of government would not allow Ron Paul to execute as a POTUS.
Plain and simple he would be fighting both Houses, and the Supreme Court.
Conservatives learned,at least I thought they did, during the Bush/Obama Bank bailout, that the world markets would crash. The Dow dropped 700 points the day the Bill was rejected the first time it came up for a vote.
Teabaggers and republicans are feeling a wee bit anxious lately. They are beginning to realize that ALL of their "leaders" are raving lunatics and won't be able to take the presidency in 2012.
I just learned what the term 'teabagger' actually means. I had to ask why that was such a derogatory term. I'd have to say the people calling the tea party 'teabaggers' are only reflecting upon themselves by even knowing enough about the term to use it to call someone a name. sickening.
They named themselves that due to throwing tea-bags on the White House lawn. Once they became organized, they tried to tie their movement with the original Tea-Party - which is an oxymoron given history, and considering the new tea-party has its own caucus within the beast. Sigh...
I'd have to say the people calling the tea party 'teabaggers' are only reflecting upon themselves by even knowing enough about the term to use it to call someone a name
Quite the opposite, it shows your ignorance of things out here in the real world...
They were so naive about what a tea baggers is they gave themselves the name.
They were and still are some of the most politically lowest informed people in the country.
They got out and GUMSHOED for the Koch Bros with misspelled signs without ever even knowing who the Koch Bros were.
It's amazing what some people won't do for a free sandwich and a diet "Koch"
Many now realize they were stooges in a much bigger game, while others are to stupid and ignorant to admit it.
No one in tonight's debate even asked where are all the jobs promised from the 2010 midterms?
No one asked why the new Republican congress has a 11% approval rating.
No one asked why when promised jobs, the Republicans have done nothing but reek havoc with social issues, destroying unions and doing everything possible to stop people from voting.
Where was all of this in their campaign speeches.
We do not need a new President ...we need a new congress.
The tea party did once refer to themselves as "tea baggers". It started as tongue-in-cheek snickering among those of us familiar with the sexual connotation of the term. Keith Olbermann was one of the first journalist to point it out. Then the tea party began accusing "socialist liberals" of coining the phrase and attaching it to them. Of course, it doesn't take much digging to find plenty of footage of tea party officials referring to their members as tea baggers long before the right wing press caught onto the meaning.
When you got Bachman waving a tea bag in front of cameras during an interview pronouncing the "teabagger" movement, protesters tossing tea bags on the White House lawn yelling about how they are tea bagging the government... yeah, I'd say they named themselves.
As far as the TEA party mandate goes... They want lower taxes. That's where Taxed Enough Already got its name. Ironic since taxes are at its lowest since the 1950s, which is where main stream people arrive at the conclusion that the members are either misinformed or uninformed. How they got hi-jacked by big business and far right wing republicans is a different story.
There are still actually teabaggers that didn't know that they picked that name themselves?
ROFLMAO!
The sight of little old ladies with tea bags hanging from their hats chanting, "I'm a teabagger!" will never leave my memory.
I guess it's really a more serious sign of how out of touch with America the right actually is. I guess if you only get your news from Fox Nazi Training, you'll always be out of touch with most of America.
I'll go further. The connection to the far right, tea party (renamed) and Republicans goes way back (read: Jerry Falwell and the "Moral Majority"). Republicans have been the party of the corporation, for the corporation, and by the corporation, since Ronald Reagan. In fact, and not surprising, both alliances occurred rather simultaneously.
Perhaps if you tuned out Fox News, lestweforget, and just basically disconnected from the right-wing lie machine altogether, you would understand the logic behind the assertion that President Obama is the only real choice for working class Americans. His progressive accomplishments in the face of Republican obstruction speak for themself.
"Yeah, like those who call the president "Obammy" or "Obambam" or "Obumma" and his wife "Moochelle.""
Sadly, some conservatives have been taking the "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em" approach in dialog w/liberals, and adopting many of Alinsky's tactics...
Lets see, the T-Nut party supports Perry's "ROCK", Bachmann's praying gay husband and the pizza Cain. They all would be a good Halloween costume, It would be a sell out.
"Sadly, some conservatives have been taking the "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em" approach in dialog w/liberals, and adopting many of Alinsky's tactics..."
Reminds me of little children: "Mooooooommmmm, he started it!!!!"
So what flavor is that, exactly, workhorse? Smells like "Road Apple on a Stick" from here. A little more like "Rat Peanutbutter" from Bachmann, but mostly herbivore fecal matter from the rest.
Don't worry, the circus will soon be over and Barry and his friends can have the arena, all to themselves. How's that for an answer? Let's see, Bam-bam wins in 2012, then who's the clown? Not me!
Had the republicans and tea party express gone about it just a bit differently. Like not making defeat of Obama their #1 priority above the immediate needs of the nation. Both sides try to make their opponents one termers, but until now, it was secondary to keeping their own jobs and doing their jobs. They could have been gentler, more compassionate instead of so combative and could have gotten more moving ahead for the nation but they chose the route they went and now the vast majority of voters are waking up. Good luck at unseating not only the president but taking back the senate and keeping the house.
Rednawt: Exactly. Couldn't have said it better myself. You hear a lot of BS from them about how they are going to "fix things," but what the hell are they waiting for? They don't produce plans, ideas, and push for the changes they believe in. The Republican led congress STILL hasn't done anything regarding unemployment.
Being a hard-nosed Democrat, I believe you should raise your hand when you want to speak when not spoken to. My grandkids I raised at 23, 23, 20 and 19 still raise their hands when we are having a family discussion. It is only fair and polite.
But, voting for a Republican? Never going to happen.
Indeed, I might be voting R this time around if their blind obstructionism for purely political ends wasn't so obvious.
Lost a lot of respect for them.
If they actually acted like they cared about this country - and tried to get things done and be contructive despite the difficult of having a president who's not in the same party.... things would be different. But no, instead they show just how full of sh$t they are by playing partisan patsy since day 1 for the sole purpose of ousting the potus. Bunch of children.
To Rednawt and Shuklack ~ I agree. I probably would have given serious thought to a Republican since the Dem party seems to be intent on spending without controls, and I've always thought of the Repub party as more fiscally responsible, which we need right now. But, OMG!, the way they've turned - and their viciousness makes me ill. To send this country into chaos just to keep Obama to one term is nuts! I could no more vote Republican than a yellow dog. ;-) If the Dems stay in office, I just hope they don't take that as a referendum to continue their uncontrolled spending.
I would like to hear some concrete proposals for Jobs. If the Republicans have a plan I sure have not seen it. So far John McCain and Rand Paul put forth a plan that was essentially dirtier air, uninspected food and reduction of Wall Street oversight. More "Trickle Down" Economics. The WMF did an extensive study and concluded that Trickle Down does not work which comes as no surprise to most of us but must be a revelation to the Republicans that are still clinging to that failed policy. I want to hear how they propose to create jobs now.
Republicans care deeply about this country. We care about all of the American people. Not just the many that vote democrat. Once we take back the Senate and get rid of Harry Reid, things will probably change. Btw, real change takes time, but you already knew that, right? Don't worry about jobs, they're on their way through the pipeline. Once inflation kicks in around June of 2013, you'll see things pick up then. Not all republicans have money, but there's one thing we do have and that's discipline. Many republicans are happy just being just one thing, American. If the country went bust tomorrow, I'd still be republican. Regardless of who has money.
Teabaggers and republicans have no real interest in America or Democracy or fiscal responsibility or the budget. They have no plan for the future of America.
Their admitted goal is to get rid of President Obama.
That's it.
If the welfare of the country gets in the way of that goal, then so be it.
America now knows this, and will make teabaggers and republicans pay for this in 2012.
They've been running on "jobs, jobs, jobs" for the last 3 years. So far all they've done is lay off government workers. I guess they meant less jobs, less jobs, less jobs.
Another thing the GOP and TEA Party are for, besides making Obama a one term President, is keeping the rich richer and the poor poorer. Another, it is the PARTY OF NO, NO to everything that could or would help the country and the economy.
That is due to your great chosen one. Obama had two years of a democratic house to do with what he wanted..instead all he preached was health care..he and his party.. He is just as guilty as Bush was. Both parties focused to much on one thing, for Bush it was the war, for Obama it is his health care. Meanwhile the whole Country goes down the drain why they are only focusing on one issue. The mortgage industry collapsed under Bush, however Clinton is the one who came up with the Bill that everyone should own a home. Bush just signed it. He gave the Democrats what they wanted knowing it would fail. This economy is a mess. Your President inherited a debt..yes. However he is the first President in history to quadruple it. He even admitted it himself that is worse now. And fyi..his own party won't even pass his jobs bill.. so just goes to show you, each side is in this for themselves.. show me a real democrat and I will show you they are a republicrat at heart. When are people going to start realizing..this is no longer about us anymore. The Govt all of it wants a revolution. They want us defendant on them. wake up!
You want jobs? How about a tax cut for the wealthy! Peace and prosperity? Well a tax cut for the wealthy should take care of that! Health care? Hmmmm...sounds like a job for "tax cuts for the wealthy"!
How about that 9-9-9. Should be 99.9%.....that's how much of the population will pay more taxes.....but oh to be one of the .001%....time for your taxcut Mr. Billionaire!
Republicans will waterboard their own mothers if it means a tax cut for the wealthy.
The Republican solution to job creation is to pass anti-abortion laws, voter suppression laws, and union killing laws. That is what they have been spending all their time on, so that must be what they think will create jobs.
There are plenty of jobs in the oil and gas industry. No experience needed.....but you do have to be ready to work hard. Ohio, Penn., Wyoming and Louisiana are developing huge shale oil and gas discoveries. Too bad most liberals are against fossil fuel and probably hard work as well. Good luck with that attitude!
No union card necessary nor desired. Obama is a job killer in the Gulf Coast by refusing permits for offshore drilling. Offshore exploration has provided lucrative jobs in the Gulf States for generations. Now all we've got are casinos.
Workhorse, the only thing American the Teapublicans care about is the dollar and how many of them they can get by hook or crook for themselves and their wealthy cronies... I hear guys like you gripe that the wealthy pay 40% of the taxes taken in by the country... well, the top 1% own about 90% of the wealth in the country.. then why shouldn't they be paying 90% of the taxes? They have more than the remaining 99% combined yet the 99% pay 60% of the taxes... don't think about that too hard, now, rightwhiners... it might give you a headache... it boggles the mind how people can be so foolish as to vote for ANY Republican if said person is not a millionaire. I used to be an Independent voter, but since W, I would vote for a frickin' yellow dog before I would vote for another Republican...local, state or federal...
I agree. It would be interesting to hear ANY of the republican candidates have an actual plan for anything. All they seem to be able to do is bash every one else and complain about how everything they dont agree with is failing. Yet they dont seem to be able to ever answer any question with a real answer. No real plan for gaining jobs, no plan for any kind of health care (deny it if you will but uninsured people cost this country billions in lost productivity), if you ask any of them exactly how gay marriage threatens the institution of marriage or the american family you get a lot of garbage about how before you know it men will be marrying their dogs or cats or that it's against God's word because after all God's word should be the law of the land (sorry, I forget they don't get sarcasm). I have never considered myself a liberal but the harder the right pushes for forcing their view of conservativism on EVERYONE the more I dislike them. I don't want anyone telling me what I have to believe. And I sure as hell don't want to live in a theocracy. Especially one where most are unemployed, hungry and homeless.
I'd like to turn this back to the dems though. What exactly is their plan? They want the fed (which is a private bank - not a government agency) to print more money as a loan to the US govt. that the US govt. guarantees with US assets such as the social security fund. Then they want to contract large construction works in the country and hire low income workers to build things. There will be some higher wage earners as well but not nearly as many as the laborers. Then they want to tax the hell out of the company they hired to do the job, tax the middle income workers and tax those that drive on the road or buy the building etc... so that they can pay back the loan they made with the fed. WOW! Beautiful! I love it. Rob Peter to pay Paul! I've never heard of that before.
Now before you blast me, I'm not saying the republicans have a better plan though theirs doesn't involve borrowing more money! You can't take from the rich to give to the middle class and you can't borrow your way out of debt! There has to be fiscal responsibility involved here and each party is playing the population against the other party so as to distract us that we are being sent to the poor house (the US not necessarily you or me).
The Occupy protesters have a general idea that things aren't right but they want to blame corporations. Lobby Washington. Go to your representatives office and lobby them. It's your tax money they are playing with and that of our grand kids. Get active in making a difference not noise!
Republicans debating on here: One big question, what has our Republican led congress done to solve unemployment since they have been in power? What ideas did they produce before winning control of the house? What are they waiting for?
I hear a lot of noise about how bad Obama is -- and even more crap in these debates about what these candidates "hope" to do, but I'm having a real tough time seeing what Republicans are doing about the problems at hand. Defeating Obama isn't solving the country's problems. These people are elected officials. Do something. Solve any of the country's problems and I'll respect you more.
It all comes down to a big PR game, who can say the right thing to sway public perception. Anyone who has ever uttered the words like "socialist and death panels" is just repeating what a political strategist created for you to think.
Amen! It's time to put up or shut up! What are your plans and what is your vision,,,cause "trickle down"...aint working! And "drill baby drill"..again...not working. 9-9-9...not going to work..How about a jobs act?
Actually Bethany this entire downturn in the economy can be traced back to inceases in energy costs caused by the self inflicted wounds of the EPA, environmentalists, and short sighted government over-regulation. We could put millions to work tomorrow mining coal, drilling oil, drill natural gas, building refineries, building pipe lines, building coal, oil, and nuclear power plants, and all the other infrastructure necessary to exploit our owm virtually untapped natuarl resources. It can all be done cleanly and safely. And when we were done, we would be free of foriegn energy dependence and have inexpensive energy to drive our economic engine for the next century.
So if you want jobs now and in the future, get off your high horse and get behind drill baby drill...
Actually wingnut, this entire downturn in the economy can be traced by to the UNREGULATED Home mortgage industy and superbanks with their credit swaps. Do you not know that any drop of oil, coal, natural gas taken from this country is sold on an open world market and not here in the U.S.?
Oh yea economy fault because we want cleaner air and water. Over-regulation, lol are you joking or you are a joke? Deregulation that was started with Reagan caused housing meltdown and BP catastrophe. Dude, even if we drill every single place in US, we will not produce enough oil of what we consume and might last may be 20 to 30 years, and then what? You short sighted. So we suppose to destroy our environment for that? Alternative energy is answer if we can get congress to get on board with it. You need to do research and not listen to FOX news.
JPSOTW: That's an interesting point you make. Any point from a GONTPer that has some truth to it is welcome, but you've traced the increase in energy costs to a fallacy. The real cause of the increase in energy prices that increased food prices that pushed the tipping point button for the housing market? Speculation on oil, guess where? Wall Street. US and UK bankers still hold the smoking gun that started that cascade, as a recent report to the congress showed. One of the worst offenders? Goldman Sachs.
You see, speculating on oil used to be illegal. That got wiped out after Reaganomics, and it's been up, up, up with gas ever since. Deregulation has had such long range fall-out for America that re-regulating won't even do the trick. A more agressive form of moving money back into the hands of consumers has to take place. Face it: Without consumers, America has no economy. Unless the rich are planning an epic spending binge in the very near future, something will have to be done to shake that money out.
FDR changed the currency standard when the rich refused to spend into the economy. It happened once, so something just as radical could happen again. We've allowed the balance of power to shift so far that the fulcrum is under 1% of the population. That CAN'T continue. It leads to a financial downward spiral.
And the rich don't care, they have their money in gold, so if they leave America, who cares? They go on living like God on Earth in some other country. Shifting the balance isn't going to be easy, but if the country is going to succeed, it will have to shift.
OWS has an idea what's going on. Now they need the clout to make Washington listen.
Obama needs to go, the dems have done nothing but make this worse, and in case you people don't realize it, democrats and liberals are far richer than republicans, so do your home work.
Reid has done nothing for Nevada, Rick in NV, so guess what any idea has a chance of helping, the dems have come up with nothing but same crap Obama has passed down costing us a ton of money and more job loss.
Btw, real change takes time, but you already knew that, right?
@workhorse
Now that's a bit hypocritical - since the #1 complaint by the Right is that Obama hasn't completely turned around the world economic crisis in 3 short years while dealing with an obstructionist Congress for half of it....
I see see the brainwashed class envy idiots have crawled out of the woodwork at the mere mention of exploiting our own resources. You can all believe that BS your government and their left wing puppet masters are selling you. But be prepared to live in their 'new normal' for the rest of your miserable lives.
When your all ready to get your heads out of your *sses and live in the real world, we can improve the economy for everyone.
Rick in Vegas: Not sure if you would recognize a jobs plan if you saw one. Why? because you cant recognize who is actually running for Republicans for President. It should be quite obvious that John McCain is not running could you maybe have confused him with Herman Cain. If you are anti Republican just say it please and don't hide under a hood of rational reasoning. What you say is almost like saying you don't like the offensive plays of the Miami Dolphins because their Running Back George Bush doesn't have a plan. (It's actually Reggie Bush)
Bernard, that's what the article says, but as it turns out, Republcians all lied to each other AGAIN, each hoping to somehow get the upper hand over the other.
Not the debates, the caucuses that Nevada has scheduled for the first of the year. Its a big blow up between Nevada and New Hampshire, which has a long standing tradition of being first in line for the Republican Caucuses.
Lets talk about lies where were all those WMDthat the the wost president in history - Bush told the world existed in Iraq. and didn't the village idiot tell us that Iraq oil would pay for the war? Now here we are 10 years later with 2 unfunded wars that bankrupted the country. Because the Idiot failed to raise taxes to pay for them instead Bush cut taxes for the wealth not once but twice and you know what? the fool bankrupted the country. So lets talk about lies
No! They are boycotting the caucus...but heck...free TV Time...Only Romney will not boycott the caucus...cause...well, He's Romney and it's a Mormon state.
Has Nevada gone Mormon too? Didn't know that. I think "boycott" is code for "we are going to get killed in these caucuses, let's make an excuse and go home early."
Witch king: You can always tell someone who has no argument when they pull out false facts about something that happened a long time ago as their response. That would be you. First what does WMD have to do with this post topic? But since you asked. There were WMD's in Iraq. First define WMd's. Weapons that can kill many people at once. The definition doesn't say how many . How about 10 or 100 or 1000. Does it have to be 250,000. Saddam used them on his own people in Basra area. He used them on the Iranians and even on the Kurds. He was making a nuclear weapon in 1981 when the Israelis bombed the reactor that was making them. He was attempting to make them after GWI. If your sole information from is Michael Moore your are sorely lacking and should actually read a book.
JJ, remember the alliance we had with Sadam, and how unusual the first Kuwait invasion was. Why was it so secret no one in the public knew about it before it happened? Do you suppose Sadam had some assurance that we would not get involved? Do you believe Sadam was mad enough that he invaded Kuwait, under our nose, and he would get away with it? Wake Up, read some history, not Fox News.
Also you forget that U.N. investigators went into Iraq and found no weapons, chemical or nucleur, or any production facilities. But that wasn't enough for Pres.Bush.
Were these GOP folks not so serious, I'd think this was a SNL skit with buffoons, barb bashing, and bluster!
Hummmm, think I'm gonna go watch it, and chuckle at the serious expressions from the stage, and the inappropriate applause from the narrow viewed/minded audience!!
Laura: Why don't you use your brain and find a way to attack the ideas instead of the person. I saw a bumper sticker that reminds me of you..it read "Weak people use harsh words". Think on that! If your argument was strong, you would not have to attack people personally. Maybe it's because you're argument is weak? Maybe you have no logical retort? You gotta go to the school yard...Yeah, your Momma is...This has no place in serious debate.
Take it easy on Laura: She's only repeating what Fox Indoctrination has taught her. All of these people are. It's like watching the ranks of the Hitler Youth in "Triumph of the Will," as they adoringly repeat ever word their leader says without any thought whatsoever.
We need a gigantic intervention: Throw republicans into vans where ever you find them, and we'll set up a deprogramming camp, based on the best cult deprogrammer's tactics. We can save them. They are our fellow Americans, even if they have been brainwashed.
The Cavalier: Your statements here are repeats of actions that the Nazi's actually used. How valid is that in an argument where you call someone else a Nazi? There was an intervention last November it was called an election. I know you are still unhappy about it but it is the only thing that separates your system from the Nazi's. Seems like you are the one who wants to go back to 1932 Germany.
Now lets see if they will debate each other instead of doing Campaign commercials and lets see if Rick Perry did his homework this time and the Dog didn't eat it like his past showings indicate. Also, lets see if Perry can stay awake this time with out nodding off.
Lets see what you guys are made of this time and see if you are not afraid to mix it up.
Of course, the first thing I look for in a leader is how good he is at attacking other leaders.
Stalin was really good at that. Look like a threat: get shot. Actually pose a threat? Tortured and shot. Now those were the days of rough and tumble politics, eh?
Hm. By those standards, these TeaNaziPublicans are pretty whimpy.
FD, that's actually a problem with the modern day electorate. This practice by politicians has evolved into a science because today's voters are media zombies with no attention span.
They are pitching to the 80 million functionally illiterate Americans, the ones who cannot comprehend a 4th grade reading level. They form the heart of their "movement." Please, VOTERS, WAKE UP! NO REPUBLICAN SINCE EISENHOWER HAS CARED FOR THE AVERAGE AMERICAN. Look at the Republican politicians. They are all already millionaires or striving to become one. Name one who was a real businessman before entering politics. You know, like Harry Trumman. Which one ran a family business? Which one actually cared about the welfare of his employees? Not a single one. They are all rich. have been rich for a while, and intend to stay rich. Wake up and vote for the only ones who have a record of restoring economic balance, Democrats. The Republicans have been responsible for every economic crisis this nation has faced since the 1860s. They cannot do the things necessary to restore economic sanity and stability. It goes against their dogma. If 1% of the population controls 90% of the wealth, then, by God, they rightfully should fund 90% of the costs of government. It is simple math! Do not give anymore control to the idiots who ran the economy over the cliff.
Sociopaths feel no shame. They do feel fear though, fear of Ron Paul winning the election and so they'll continue to treat the american public like mushrooms being keeping them in the dark while feeding them crap like Perry, Cain, Romney, etc.
Finally, someone else notices the bias. Disgusting coverage from the MSM. Why am I not surprised?
Ron Paul is the only one offering solutions, and some of these people on here are falling all over themselves to paint him as a loon. Like our current economic plan is working? Puh-leeze.
Ron Paul is too old . . . if elected he would be almost as old when he took office . . . as Ronald Reagan was when Reagan left office . . . again . . . Ron Paul is too old . . .
Ron Paul is an eccentric old codger who had driven the GOP straight to the extreme right with his continual election runs. Long LIVE the Crazy CODGER!!!!
Tell you what, why don't we bring in Paul, and Nader. They are at about the same level of extreme. Of course, with Nader, we would all have quality products. We could never afford them, though, and foreign policy? Oh, wait, Paul doesn't know what he wants to do with the other 6.5 Billion people on the planet either. But we would get our covered wagons back, and shoot, we would all be busy repairing our own streets and bridges, and communities would just rebuild out of material that appears from thin air after disasters.
Yep, a vote for Ron Paul is a vote to throw the country away to an invasion by Canada. We wouldn't stand a chance.
Invasion by Canada? Thats the most ridiculas thing ive read on this site so far today. You obviously dont know what you are talking about, i suggest you do a little more research before you post something as mindless as that.
The most interesting thing to see will be whether Romney and Perry will risk the ire of the cokers by attacking 9-9-9 as aggresively as it should be attacked and whether they debunk this nonsense of Cain being an "outsider". You can't get more inside that serving the banks on the fed and slobbering on the cokes. Pure political prostitution. I just wonder if any of the others will call him on it. The Kochs will be most unhappy if they do, I think.
There’s virtually nothing Koch Industries won’t do to make a buck. According to Bloomberg, that includes bribing foreign officials and potentially skirting U.S. trade laws to cut deals with the Iranian Government -- a known sponsor of global terrorism.
Now, with the growing investigation into an Iranian-backed plot to assassinate the Saudi Arabian Ambassador to the United States, it’s imperative the Koch brothers come clean regarding their relationship with the Iranian Government.
Just about every intel expert out there smells a rat with the so called Iranian plot to shoot the US Saudi Ambassador. The Iranian Revolutionary Guard or Quds force could have done a better job than just subcontracting it out to some half assed Mexican drug dealer. Also, if they whack the guy, who is everyone going to finger? Iran. So why would they do it if they knew they would get nailed for it? They wouldn't, but it sure would be a nice way to get the dumbass US populace to hate Iran even more wouldn't it? As for the Koch brothers, they aren't the only ones skirting sanctions to deal with Iran. Also, Iran isn't the biggest sponsor of terrorism, and has their own terrorism problem with the Kurds and that Marxist group within their nation. Not too mention all of those nuclear scientists that the Mossad whacks every so often.
I note in the article that Nikki-1975634 linked that the Kochs have given over 100 million to right wing causes over the years. That's the two brothers, Charles and David over many years. It is much cheaper for them to buy the Republican party and the Supreme Court than it is to pay taxes on their billions. Actually when one considers they have bought an entire party for just a 100 million, you have to admire their calculations. And, one needs to note just how cheaply the Republicans can be bought. I guess that means they aren't worth much.
BTW I'm sure Koch money is behind some of these right wing crackpots who post here, yet have no real facts. These people will keep the Fox News set riled up with fear and hate and very little in the way of actual information or facts.
Ron Paul is going to be at the debate. He just unvailed his plan to cut 1 trillion from our debt. He has been the only candidate who has NEVER flip flopped, never violated the Constitution, the only one who is a DR. and the only one who is a veteren of our military. Oh and he also predicted the housing bubble back in 2003.
Have you sent this message, to the republican primary voters; they are the ones who are largely ignoring him. He is the most consistent, of the republican candidates, but unfortunately because of someof his extreme views, he seldom ever gets higher than 10-15%, support, in the polls.
I totally agree with you.in reading this article you would think that Ron Paul was not even there.I say we all stand up and vote for HIM to show the media that he does exist.
Ron Paul is too old . . . if elected he would be almost as old when he took office . . . as Ronald Reagan was when Reagan left office . . . again . . . Ron Paul is too old . . .
Ron Paul is for a LIMITED GOVERNMENT BOUND BY THE CONSTITUTION...you know the way the country was invented? Before all the special interests got involved - our government didnt involve themselves into everyone lives.
The Ron Paul FAKE RACIST NEWSLETTER HAS BEEN PROVEN TO NOT BEEN WRITTEN BY HIM OR THE CAMPAIGN FOR LIBERTY.
And as far as him being old - he rides his bike 5-10 miles every day. He is smarter and probably in better shape then most of the people who talk against him.
Extremist?? Are you kidding me? Whats extreme is a 14 TRILLION dollar debt. By 2050 we wont be able to pay the interest off of our CURRENT debt - let alone the debt itself.
Wake up people we need someone to actually shake up washington and change the status quo
There never was a time "before special interest got involved", we have had at least a two party system since before our inception. The Federalists, where opposed by the States Rights. Why do you think it took some 12 years for our consttution to be ratified after our Declaration of Independence? Thats what gets me about these Libertarians, they have no factual prove of their philosophy, untrained and uneducated, that is how they control the masses.
"Inventions" if good can be improved, yet they stick their head in the sand.
I think we need an investigation. I can't help wondering if John Stewart and Stephen Colbert aren't actually bribing all the GOPers to act incredibly stupid, inarticulate, and sociopathic. I smell a rat.
I hope it's more SNL material. What you idiots don't understand is that publicity, in any form keeps the name of the candidates in someones mind. When many people go to the polls they vote for the name they remember, the last one they heard. This is sad, but all too often true.
So keep America laughing and watch the the results be the same in 2012 as they were in 2010! How did that work out for all of you dems/liberals?
Don't know if they are being bribed, Thomas Blue, but I would bet that they are receiving some campaign donations to keep them out there... a comedy writers dream!!!
Do you think well see black panther supporting cain..oh thats right hes a repub no kick backs/welfare involved maybe he could influence the black vote bring back the 40 acers an a mule...
Here is a Snopes link which goes to show you are full of @!$%#e, whoever says it is a Left Wing Liberal Group. Do not try to drag facts into your Partisan Blindness. They are mutually exclusive.
It is all about the statements made by Dems backing the Saddam WMD Lie as presented to the American People in order to proliferate War for the MIC. And the truth hurts, no matter who is doing the lying.
It ain't just the Republicans, though they lead the Charge.
Both Parties Are Complicit in selling out America.
It's too bad Huntsman won't bethere, not that they ever gave him much time to talk anyways. I think he and Romney are the only 2 that I could ever support. Dr. paul has some good ideas, and some that are just too far out there. Gingrich is a snake oil salesman who is just trying to cuddle upwith all ofthem so that he can continue to be an overpriced mouth piece. The rest; a bunch of right wing ideologues, who can't get out of their own way.
You are joking right.. Romney is the least qualified. I wish he would do his own party a favor and drop out. It is sad that the media has him pegged as the one to beat Obama.. you seriously don't believe that do you. If he stays in and gets the chance to run, you will see Obama will get it again, and you can then thank the Republicans for allowing this ass to run and give us another four years of hell with Obama..
Thats the point Trish. President Obama is gauranteed to be re-elected if any of these twits are the only thing standing in his way. I kinda feel sorry for the GOP, not a leader among them only fools falling in line behind their billionaire supporters. I wanted a challenge this time around, can't you dig up Mcain again or something. This is sad. Obama 2012!
Anyone of these idiots will beat Obama. He has shown what a piss-poor performer he is. I just hope whichever one gets the nomination will be able to get Obamacare repealed. What a joke
What Obamacare? I don't see public option in it. It is Republicancare. Your bill from 90's. Go look it up. Mandate was a republican idea. Of coarse you all got amnesia suddenly once democrats pushed after wasting time when they could have pushed the public option plan. What you expect him to fix economy after 8 years of Bush, or 30 years of trickle down economy from Reagan? you have to be joking with republicans kept blocking him in every turn and some own democrats not giving enough support in congress. You guys couldn't even come up with formidable opponent, that tells you something.
Hmmm. I get the sense that MSNBC doesn't even know the subject of the debate. Hint: it's foreign policy. It could be a crucial turning point for Herman Cain, but does Mitt Romney or Rick Perry really have any more foreign policy experience? Could they identify the "Lord's Resistance Army?" If you want to have some fun during the debate, play our Republican Debate Bingo:
Romney is an idiot..and well Perry, need I say more. I would have loved Trump to run! but I have always gone with Cain.. he is the only one who doesn't need a teleprompter.
Well Trish, when the only thing that comes out of his mouth is 9-9-9, he shouldn't need a teleprompter... Hellzbellz, even Bush could have remembered that much .. the debate just ended and everyone of them came off looking like a fum-ducker.
How are you bringing the FBI into this.. another uneducated argument from a radical. Perhaps you need to go protest with the other idiots who want to punish those who worked for what they got. After all they should support you.
"the 1 % are the ones who punish the people who worked hard for their money you idiot".
I have issues with the 1% that wantd to take my taxes and dole it out thorugh gov't bailouts, forcing schools to provide bi-lingual education to illegals, subsidize mortgages for those that don't qualify for a loan and tell me I HAVE to buy a certain type of healthcare.
I work hard for my money, and I would prefer to decide how to spend it. I have no issue paying my fair share of taxes, but there are plenty out there that don't and still expect the gov't to take care of them.
Wasn't it one of those liberals long ago that said,
" Ask not, what your country can do for you, Ask what you can do for your country."
It's amazing how far we've changed in only 50 years.
BravoMike, "your country" has many meanings, one of them being the people in this country, as in, "What can I do for the people of my country?" I serve the children of this country in a thankless and low paying job and I'm classified as socialist union scum by a loud minority on the right because I'm a teacher. I work hard for my money, too, but I don't believe most Americans (or even a hefty minority) are looking for a handout. You seem to be asking yourself what you can do for you and using lies like "forcing schools to provide bi-lingual education to illegals" and "having to by a certain type of healthcare" to justify it.
I have seen TV shows about the Amazonian Indian tribes. When any of their people get too old to work, get sick or injured and can't contribute to the tribe, the others TAKE CARE OF THEM because it is THE HUMAN THING TO DO. Now the right wing nut-jobs want to end Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security and bitch and moan that their money is being given to someone else... well guess what... it is NOT your money ... the elderly and disabled who are drawing SS or SSD have paid into those programs... and if you work for a living and get a paycheck, the taxes taken out of that paycheck is no longer YOUR money, it is the Government's money. And that is the law of the land. If you think you pay too much of your paycheck in taxes, talk to your Congressperson and tell them you think the people who have the most money, a.k.a. the wealthiest, shoule be paying thier share, not evading, whether legally or illegally. And tell them you are sick of corporations getting subsidies in some cases, i.e. the oil companies, while making record profits and paying little or nothing in taxes. But the Republican mindset is like I heard one say... "Yeah, I'm drawing unemployment, but I DESERVE it, not like all those others who are lazy and drawing it" SMH
GE works for the house how many jobs do they not farm out and taxes???theres a lib problem,an you big union guys better get ready to grab your ankles them days are over lookn down your noses at real hard working amercians im a small bus.owner an you all dug your own grave better be shovel ready you and Jose..
Ron Paul 2012. The only man for the job. Everything that Romney, Perry and Cain have brought to the table has been said before by Ron Paul. These people have to copy everything that Ron Paul has said before. Look it up. Research the candidates before you decide. Educate yourself.
I am a Caribbean-American and I just listed to Ron Paul in the debate. I disagree about no taxes. The bible says render to Caesar the things that are Caesar. However, I agree that we need to stop grouping people or group people from different ethnic backgrounds properly. Cain claims to be black but does not care about his brother that is unemployed. At least, the Latinos care about each other. Why group with someone who does not understand his brother or sister. We should be free to call ourselves brown if we want to because the bible in Genesis2:7 states that"the Lord God formed the man of dust from the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life." Thus if the earth is brown, we should be free to call ourselves brown if we wish as black and white is gray and I have not seen any gray person in flesh.
Get ready the Preparation H...Plenty of hemorrhoid pain watching this.....Even if you do not suffer from hemorrhoids
Will be like watching a bunch of midgets box it out.
None of the above !
If Republicans do have a viable candidate, that person is NOT in this group.
Boy howdy, the kings of casino capitalism are back in Vegas, baby!
Oh, we're gonna give it everything we've got
The beer is cold and the dice are hot
Got coke up our nose to dry away the snot, so
Viva! Las Vegas!
Viva! Las Vegas!
Viva! Las Vegas!
Viva! Viva! Las Vegas!
Vote for God then workhorse. Write Him in. Start a write-in campaign.
Hahaha!!! It is funny to read these comments from angry Liberals.
Don't you people have a protest to get back to?
I'm an Independent and I really love these comments.
None of these jokers has any clue what the American people are going through. Nor do they care.
The debate will answer the seemingly eternal republican question, who's the tallest midget this week.
I'm starting to warm to these crazy GOP candidates... They're all cuddly.
I want a President that hugs.
All Hail Obama.
Ruler, Master, and Overlord of all you Teabaggers and Republicans,
for the Next Five (yes! 5) very long years.
It's True what the above posters are writing,
that all of the GOP Republican candidates debating tonight,
are truly "mental-midgets".
Now that Obama has found the "Fire in his Belly", he has Energized his base,
and us Independents, Reagan Democrats, and Freedom Loving Americans
will definitely vote a straight Democratic ticket come this November 2012.
The Teabagging Party and the GOP Republican Party will soon be on the
"Dung Heap of History", where they so rightfully belong.
Soon our Socialist Paradise will be Realised and firmly Established,
in what you Teabaggers and Republicans once called America.
Please don't come up with your color skin crap.
Obama one term president.
Cudos to CNN for having the best debate so far. Anderson Cooper took a few shots at Cain but otherwise did a good job. There were alot of solid questions asked.
Like it or not Cain did really well.
Commonsenseguy1, weren't your people disrupting town hall meetings and shouting down people a few short months ago?
Your coverage of the debate is very interesting...... somehow the name Ron Paul is never even mentioned.
How about some evenhanded coverage rather than the candidates you have already picked to win
Space race. First one makes it into orbit wins. Can't afford any more lunar landings.
What you people do not get is that 99% of us are suffering...and the Party of No! The Party of "give more to the ..ha..ha..job creators" is falling flat on their face..No jobs! No Reform...but control a women's uterus...On top of that!
Hey Teabaggers and Cons, now that Obama will be your President
for the Next 5 years, I can't wait till He stacks the Supreme Court
with some more Commies, Marxists, Socialist and Libs.
Ain't Life Grand?
Our Socialist/Marxist Worker's Paradise is just ONE Election away!
All Hail Obama!
The (tea) party poopers stole Obama's hope and change along with his teleprompter. Bastards.
Laudanum: I looked up "oligarch" but still cannot pronounce it. hahaha
LMFAO!! LMFAO!! They're bad, naughty boys just like Craig said!! LMFAO!!!
Bethany,
I have to agree with you, the Supreme Court has become a Supreme Embarrassment.
Joe, Bethany,
Yeah, the Supreme Court has gone over the deep end.
I just watched this debate over again and I can say that it reminds me of a school yard mud fight.
Herman Cain will give Obama a good old fashion AZZZZ whooooping he he he!
USA,
First off, I'm not a liberal and if Franks did cheat on his taxes then yes of course he deserves a bunk right next to Wesley Snipes.
Real simple rundown for next year, more of the same, more of the same, more of the same, more of the same, or END THE FED!!! Ron Paul 2012!
The GOP field is laughable.
Can you imagine any of these TP nuts or plastic-head Romney in a foreign policy crisis?
Obama got bin Laden, along with countless other terrorists.
Bush fell asleep at the wheel. What would these other Republicon azzhats do?
Will Perry's wife have to bail him out again? (Are her appearances in the Republican Party gamebook?)
There is no 'actual plan' - it's a marketing gimmick - nothing more.
Aldos.....The United Syates was built on LEGAL immigration once it became a nation. We are built on rule of law. Amnesty is not a viable option because of the high influx of low skilled people takes jobs, tax money and service from U.S. Citizens.
I did not watch the GOP debate. Who wants to watch Romney and Perry mud-wrestle. I watched "THE BIGGEST LOSER" which is far more relevant.
If any of these GOP jokers get elected we'll all be the biggest losers, each and every one of us.
Besides, I'd rather watch Anna Kournakova any day.
Obama/Biden 2012
Indeed - but there is no Ellis Island equivalent. Then, all you had to do was show up and register - now its a process that takes several years and thousands of dollars.
The ONLY winner in last night's debate was Jon Huntsman.
He had the grace and commonsense and intelligence to, stay away from that Ringling Brothers Circus.
I turned the channel and watched Downsized--just to get a voyeuristic taste of what life is going to be like for even more Americans in a few years. Republican thugocracy..sickening.
Rick Perry called Cain "brother". Twice.....lmao
I'm sure that wasn't a coincidence.
Cain's 9/9/9 plan got buried last night.
Perry is finished. When Romney put his hand on Perry I thought the fireworks were going to start.
Newt, the professor, is just an angry person (along with Santorum).
Bachman never answers a question.
Ron Paul has a pipe dream.
What a group. I love it.
Here's the logical insightful arguments of your people whom you purport to defend:
Abusive ad hominem (also called personal abuse or personal attacks) usually involves insulting or belittling one's opponent in order to attack his claim or invalidate his argument, but can also involve pointing out factual but apparent character flaws or actions that are irrelevant to the opponent's argument. This tactic is logically fallacious because insults and negative facts about the opponent's personal character have nothing to do with the logical merits of the opponent's arguments or assertions.
Debasing present participle of de•base (Verb)
Roy Wilson:
Roy, They are referring to the Republican Congress....
Keep trying.
Stop the Cannibals: No they are not. Accept the truth without trying to spin it into a liberal lie.
Four Points - Are you female? Because I think I love you but I'm a little homophobic so I can't say that until I'm certain. LOL
Mitt's the guy,
Ain't gonna fly,
Good for our guy.
Obama/Biden 2012
Biteme:
Two flyweights boxing for the title.

Fannie and Freddie originated many of the loans, especially the more risky ones, and then sold them enmasse to stupid bankers. The only loans F&F had were the ones they had not unloaded yet.
@Four Points Shy Of Genius,
Damm you sound angry. What's wrong no one sharing your view?
Wrong dangstraightup. Look it up.
Federal Reserve Board data show that:
•More than 84 percent of the subprime mortgages in 2006 were issued by private lending institutions.
•Private firms made nearly 83 percent of the subprime loans to low- and moderate-income borrowers that year.
•Only one of the top 25 subprime lenders in 2006 was directly subject to the housing law that's being lambasted by conservative critics.

I'm not angry in the slightest bit. Just pointing out truth.
The mindless anger seems to be coming from those whom I pointed out.
:)
Wrong again cannibal.
You know about 1/2 of the story.
You are good at getting your facts mixed up.
Romney won by a landslide, Bachmann, Perry.& the pizza guy are total losers.
999+666=911 I'm voting for Spongebob, he has more brains than this guy. This guy is firing blanks.
"Obama is Unbeatable" Wise up you T-Nut ZooFans, your party sold their souls the the rich and the America people woke up.
We have a bunch of idiot politicians who set quotas for 'types' of immigrants in 1986, as though they had some kind of magic crystal ball or that the needs of our economy would never, ever change.
dangstraightup writes:
.
Well why don't you enlighten us all by giving some sources and facts? Prove it instead of saying something untrue and expecting us to believe whatever you write. Afterall, you're tring to say that banks were forced into making huge amounts of money against their will....laughable.
For most if our history, immigration meant merely showing up. No visas required, no advance permission required, no politicians to decide who was or wasn't acceptable.
And if you read the Declaration of Independence, the Founding Fathers condemned the King of England as a tyrant for RESTRICTING immigration.
Hey D.Man #1.60, Perry was thinking the pizza guy was his rock, you know the one at his hunting lodge.
Hey rednawt, I'd start a write in campaign for God, but I think Elmer Fudd has him beat at the moment, so maybe I'll start a write in campaign for him. Elmer Fudd for President in 2012!
Perhaps they should should be protesting in the Halls of Congress and our Supreme Court.
Tonight is the night the REPUBLICANS fill the room with *ULL@!$%#! KNEE DEEP! OBAMA 2012 is the only choice.... Seriously.....
Hey Einstein, tell me something I don't know. Let's see how Barry Sotero governs in his second term, mkay?
if you like the dems so much, mail me some of your excess income you would much rather give away.
Yep another four years of unemployment going up..more food stamps .. I'm in..and btw, I expect you to pay for it!! and any abortions I may want, and my health care, and my housing.. and my gas.. after all I won't need to do anything but sick back and let you pay for me.. thanks ..
can you idiots read? its Cain's proposals that WILL RAISE TAXES! Not the President's!
the repubs can only win now through the votes of the uniformed voter. let's see how many of us still have our heads up our butts this time around...
Trish-right wing propaganda. No facts, just spin it like a top.
Plenty of facts to back that up, do you read?
Millwright: Please point out the fact to me. Show me proof. So far all I have seen is right wing spiel. No truths just spiel.
Obama 2012 - without a doubt!
Im sure the 66 democrats that the heroic Tea Party sent home packin' last election would agree!
It is refreshing to hear Herman Cain. Finally a presidential candidate that speaks the truth with conviction.
Trish didn't even make any sense. Is she referring to unemployment benefits that were paid for out of the recipients paychecks when they were employed? The welfare programs that have existed for decades? The bailouts that happened under Bush?
Please, enlighten us!
Cudos to CNN for having the best debate so far. Anderson Cooper took a few shots at Cain but otherwise did a good job. There were alot of solid questions asked.
Like it or not Cain did really well.
Didn't mean to double post. Apologies.
Mark...put down the crack pipe...
Everyone knows that most blacks hate (more than anything else) successful blacks that made it on their own without handouts. They are labelled as an Uncle Tom, sellout and other derogatory names
If Cain is the nominee he might get 1 or 2 from the black community..
(Thats VOTES!...NOT percentage!)
Gypsy-you mean the Heroic (HAHA) teabaggers that have about a 12% approval rating.
Oh them---------------gotcha. Wink/wink
Yeah......Facts have always been a problem with you people hasn't it?
Had you study mathematics instead of gay sex and global warming you would have know better.
But you will need more than just 97% of the 12% of the black population for 2012
(HINT: Muslims, Gays and fat white women don't quite make the 51% either)
Hows that for being rich?
Yeah....sucks when facts aren't on your side huh?
Oh here comes the global warming denial. I wondered how long that would take. Anti-Evolution speak should be next, followed by a diatribe about how awful the EPA is and what a burden it is on corporations.
SNORE.
Bow....to the Gypsy!
Oh yes, you just keep telling yourself that.
Don't know much about global warming, ahem, climate change, do ya Robert Bruce 70? You may want to investigate those facts of yorn pardner.
There's a reason that certain people are now referred to as "low information" voters.
OH we did.....
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1250872/Climategate-U-turn-Astonishment-scientist-centre-global-warming-email-row-admits-data-organised.html
Like I said.......facts suck huh?
Bow to the Gypsy
Let me be blunt.
Gypsy, dear, you may want to stick to selling incense at the airport. Your skills as a researcher on climate change won't earn you much of a living.
Mark...did the chemicals in the vaseline affect your debating skills?
Or is that your way of saying "OK I cant contest that, I must bow to the Gypsy"
Hey Trish,
Vote for whoever you want...I'll take care of those abortions for you myself.
Unlike members of your sect, I bow to no other.
Gypsy
I thought you going to give a link to scientific study that proves otherwise, oh wait, you don't have one. You giving me a link to news article, which we all know is biased and who knows the source. There thousands of scientific evidence on global warming. Yes scientist know its not solid like sky is blue and water is liquid but there are changes that recorded that never happened that fast in any history of Earth. Why you waiting for to world to end to find out you wrong? I rather be wrong and have cleaner air to breath.
Yeah......I guess we need a more credible source for evidence for global warming.
Some people call it
[drum roll please]
S U M M E R T I M E
By the way, just out of curiosity, do you Americans study anything else besides gay studies and global warming?
At least now I know why high tech corporations hire from overseas where our students actually learn modern architecture, chemistry, physics and trig..
My, oh my, your bigotry knows no bounds, Gypsy.
Ironic, that.
I recall that sometime in the past, those who were referred to as "gypsies" were sent to camps and exterminated by similar sounding bigots and dictators.
Obviously, some never learn from history.
Listen folks if you want more of the same bull@!$%# we've had, vote for Obama, or Romney, or Perry, or even Cain, but, if you want some real change.... Ron Paul 2012!
The only candidate that will End The Fed!!!
Hogwash! Mike-1304143,
Ron Paul and his ilk use property rights as a way to justify abolishing the EPA.
Fact Check
It's a b*tch for the lying and willfully misinformed folks out there, like Gypsy
Climategate
Climategate is starting to become the Nebraska Man of global warming, often used by liars and the ignorant to 'prove' a point - even though they don't know the facts about the case to which they are referring..
Chris82mil: Your obama already had a congressional majority and STILL FAILED to get anything done dumba$$.
Abusive ad hominem (also called personal abuse or personal attacks) usually involves insulting or belittling one's opponent in order to attack his claim or invalidate his argument, but can also involve pointing out factual but apparent character flaws or actions that are irrelevant to the opponent's argument. This tactic is logically fallacious because insults and negative facts about the opponent's personal character have nothing to do with the logical merits of the opponent's arguments or assertions.
Debasing present participle of de•base (Verb)
Four points,
It is refreshing to know that the TP types never resort to personal attacks while trying to further their nonsense about the libertard, teleprompter using, socialist, kenyan, oreo, marxist, anti american President we have in the white house presently.
Oh they do, they do.
The GYPSY!, you are suspended for a day for violating rule # 1 of the Code of Honor.
Four Points Shy of Genius seems about six floors below common sense. Reminds me of a very old saying: "The wise are not learned, and the learned are not wise." Both can co-exist, but not without balance. Arrogance negates them both.
Four Points is very smart ........just ask him, he'll tell you.
Mark's:
As I said:
Four Points Shy of ,
You ask for intellectual exchange of ideas and for "us" to counter your points.
Mark, Fox bull$hit news is total trash, fox is at its best "When Pigs Fly" !!!!!!!!!
Watch on netflix the movie End of America: www.endofamericamovie.com
This isn't about partisanship for me, its about preventing Tryanny which can EASILY COME as it did to Nazi German, with this consolidation of power.

Four Points Shy of Genius,
Any one that would use that screen name has to have serious self-esteem issues.
Yet those employee's who are accomplished in those industry's would have to accept a lower wage/benefit, or as you say go elsewhere.
and thats the rest of the story, Good Day.
There is as much collusion in business as there is in government, that is what Ross Perot, and Ron Paul will not admit, or solve.
Hilarious!!!
Can you say "over-the-top"?
Can you say Abusive Ad Hominem?
Your entire diatribe was all based on your conjecture of who I am as a person because of my screen name. You said nothing of the valid points I'm making and instead (because you have NOTHING to say), personally attacked me.
Your frothing at the mouth over a screen name is so beyond laughable. What's next are you going to tell the guy above me "madmax" that he needs to stop living in a post-apocalyptic world looking for that "last can of precious juice" and see a shrink?
I’m sure you were hoping to get a rise out of me with your Trolling, but all you did is make me laugh. To bad the jokes on you.
You are EXACTLY RIGHT.
You are exactly wrong with respect to Ron Paul.
Competition will reduce collusion and corruption in business. There is no competition for government.
marklepew:
NHLucky-661693:
Four Points Shy of Genius,
You are incorrect, I didn't give your screen name a second thought until I noticed how you come across as a person that is a know it all.
Now to actaully get on topic you said:
and
Which points do you think are not valid and why?
This discussion will go no where, after that.
Good Day.
Cya.
Yeah it's our latest PROTEST group "Occupy VOID!"
Romney won by a landslide, Perry, Bachmann & the Pizza guy are Losers.
Ron Paul in 2012
The T-Nuts in the GOP don't want Ron Paul.
Ron Paul will eventually fade into oblivion. The candidates with the crackpot ideas usually do. Ask Ross Perot.
More like fright night
Don't worry, Halloween will soon be over. Good Luck in 2012, you're gonna need it!
Teabaggers and republicans are feeling a wee bit anxious lately. They are beginning to realize that ALL of their "leaders" are raving lunatics and won't be able to take the presidency in 2012.
Probably not even in 2016, either.
What exactly is a "teabagger", and how do you know it's meaning?
Err...through common sense?
Oh, you know, it's the old Saul Alinsky trick - attach cutesy derrogatory labels to your adversaries when your argument lacks substance...
Pretty sure they named themselves that, Rob. The rest of us just won't let them forget it, as if they deserve to.
Sigh...
Quite the opposite, it shows your ignorance of things out here in the real world...
That's the problem with the Baggers.
Where have you been, Laura?
So true Boss.
Obama the ONLY choice????
My God man!
Are you out of your mind????????????????
Perhaps if you tuned out Fox News, lestweforget, and just basically disconnected from the right-wing lie machine altogether, you would understand the logic behind the assertion that President Obama is the only real choice for working class Americans. His progressive accomplishments in the face of Republican obstruction speak for themself.
Haha yeah I thought they knew what they were saying, and were just doing it sort of tongue-in-cheek.
When it became obvious that they actually had no clue what it meant - even more hilarious.
Out of touch is right.
" it's the old Saul Alinsky trick - attach cutesy derrogatory labels to your adversaries when your argument lacks substance..."
Yeah, like those who call the president "Obammy" or "Obambam" or "Obumma" and his wife "Moochelle."
Mutt Romney, Rick the Dick, Vermin Cain and the Tea Hag -- some debate.
At least we have a flavor, we have 8 of them, you only have one, a community organizer flavor. Which isn't saying much!
Weren't you going to vote for God workhorse?
What is to say about the leaderless, planless group of Rethugs you have. A sick bunch of has beens. Republicans are a brainless group of skunk manure.
Hey BOB - could Daffy Duck do any worse than the tards in office now...
Daffy Duck? You're dating yourself there, lol.
So what flavor is that, exactly, workhorse? Smells like "Road Apple on a Stick" from here. A little more like "Rat Peanutbutter" from Bachmann, but mostly herbivore fecal matter from the rest.
Txtunes, Bachmann husband is praying for you, "NO" one is worse-than the wildhogs in Congress called the T-Nut express.
another night of barnum and bailey clowns filling the arena!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Don't worry, the circus will soon be over and Barry and his friends can have the arena, all to themselves. How's that for an answer? Let's see, Bam-bam wins in 2012, then who's the clown? Not me!
Sorry, teabaggers and republicans. None of your "leaders" have a chance at the presidency.
President Obama has another term to serve.
Try again in 2016.
Or maybe 2020.
Michelle Bachmann keeps raising her hand to speak. Can't wait for the SNL skit on this.
SNL will have a field day with these raving lunatics
Maybe my boys need to run on the word change thats kinda a neat phrase or maybe yes we can..still waitn
Apparently Michele has class, unlike you libtards that think it's ok to interrupt someone speaking.
Laura: You are talking about someone having class, while generalizing a group of people of differing opinions to yours as retards. Nice.
I'd get into the million and one ways Bachmann has proven herself not to have class, but what's the point.
Laura, did you watch the debate??? How many contards were on stage interrupting each other... useless idiots...
Good mention of SNL - the first skit is worth staying up for, when they parody the politicians, hilarious.
Good for SNL. If only a real comedy show would mock how bad SNL is. That would be funny. SNL has become a horribly unfunny show.
SNLs best days were behind them after the original group left, but the intro-skit, that's still worth watching.
Someone who feels they have to raise their hand to speak does NOT have the assertiveness, confidence and tact to govern from a position of strength.
She is the perfect submissive follower / wife called for by her Victorian-era sensibilities.
Never mind her general lunacy or record of absolute zero accomplishment as a Congressperson (signing on to other peoples' bills does not qualify).
Koch whores gathered in Nevada where prostitution is legal how, appropriate!
Republicans couldn't care less about "Jobs".
Republicans only want to hang out with the super rich in hopes that they can learn to become rich themselves.
Count on it.
If you aren't one of the 99% you are mistaken to be a republican, you will be voting against yourself.
If you are stuck with that ideology, you are not thinking for yourself.
You don't appear to have a conservative running. Just a bunch of of non-thinkers.
You need to do some research on that before you post right wing propaganda talking points.
JPSOTW
They can't give you concrete proposals. They're too busy "honing their comments" to tell you what they think you want to hear!
@workhorse
JPSOTW,
Sarah is that you troll posting again? Did you remember to park the short bus after the rolling blunder tour?
If Rick Perry would have called Herman Cain brother one more time, I would have turned into a "birther' wanting to see Rick Perry's Birth Certificate!
I guess the N-Rock is still weighing on Rick Perry's little mind somewhat!
.....or his campaign managers mind! However, the ploy was too transparent.
I thought most of the Republican candidates were boycotting the Nevada debates?
Bernard, that's what the article says, but as it turns out, Republcians all lied to each other AGAIN, each hoping to somehow get the upper hand over the other.
Not the debates, the caucuses that Nevada has scheduled for the first of the year. Its a big blow up between Nevada and New Hampshire, which has a long standing tradition of being first in line for the Republican Caucuses.
Yea Williw Warren
Hummmm, think I'm gonna go watch it, and chuckle at the serious expressions from the stage, and the inappropriate applause from the narrow viewed/minded audience!!
stop thinking.. you'll only strain your wee brain Bernard....
. . . that's all you got Laura . . . pretty lame . . .
The ones that are skipping tonight's debate (other than Cain) are the ones that should just drop out of the race now.
They are IRRELEVANT! Bachmann, Gingrich, have had ZERO chances from the start.
it's too bad too, they are the ones with the best ideas
What?
Yeah, raddave, WHAT? I missed the sarcasm tag there...
The best line in the debate was Perry to Cain: "Herman, I love you brother, but I'll tell you something:"
Everything after that was just to fill time. The code word to the GONTP was in the first line.
Lets get Ready to Rumble!
Almost, it wasn't the dog. God ate Perry's homework.
The problem with modern day politicians is that they can't elaborate an idea to anything longer than a sound bite. How shallow we have become :-(
They all have websites with unlimited time. The can elaborate as much as they want, as long as their followers are literate.
Hey BigPharma,
I lost you after science...SQUIRREL!!!!
;-)
With no mention of Dr. Paul.
Shame on you
Sociopaths feel no shame.
Oh yea Ron Paul, He got ideas, Lets just dismantle the government!!! Who needs it!!!!!!!
Long live the Constitution. Ever read it? Obviously not.
Dr. Paul is the only one who would take his oath to office seriously.
And for the age descrimination, he is more healthy in his mid 70's then the average American in thier prime.
I think someone's sarcasm sensor is malfunctioning today...Canada?
Go look up the phrase "Tongue in Cheek".
Follow the link, and read a nice little story about the Kochs.
http://www.newyorker.com/reporting/2010/08/30/100830fa_fact_mayer
There’s virtually nothing Koch Industries won’t do to make a buck. According to Bloomberg, that includes bribing foreign officials and potentially skirting U.S. trade laws to cut deals with the Iranian Government -- a known sponsor of global terrorism.
Now, with the growing investigation into an Iranian-backed plot to assassinate the Saudi Arabian Ambassador to the United States, it’s imperative the Koch brothers come clean regarding their relationship with the Iranian Government.
Traitors
So you speak for just about every intel expert?
Dear MSN:
Ron Paul is going to be at the debate. He just unvailed his plan to cut 1 trillion from our debt. He has been the only candidate who has NEVER flip flopped, never violated the Constitution, the only one who is a DR. and the only one who is a veteren of our military. Oh and he also predicted the housing bubble back in 2003.
Stop pretending he doesnt exist!
TRUE.
Ron Paul is a genuine woo-woo whack-job who doesn't have the slightest chance for the nomination, much less the presidency.
Have you sent this message, to the republican primary voters; they are the ones who are largely ignoring him. He is the most consistent, of the republican candidates, but unfortunately because of someof his extreme views, he seldom ever gets higher than 10-15%, support, in the polls.
CreepingJesus, got any explaination or reasoning behind your arrogant comment?
Ron Paul's also a big racist. No thanks. ...oop, all the more reason for Republicans to vote for him.
Actually Hope Sinks, as much as I dislike Perry, he is also a veteran. So Paul is not the only one.
All those years of listening to mainstream media, well it had turned you into a mushroom!
Proof? Do you have proof?
Hope Stinks
I totally agree with you.in reading this article you would think that Ron Paul was not even there.I say we all stand up and vote for HIM to show the media that he does exist.
Ron Paul is too old . . . if elected he would be almost as old when he took office . . . as Ronald Reagan was when Reagan left office . . . again . . . Ron Paul is too old . . .
At this point in the game being old maybe better. You know the old saying "older and wiser"
At this point you might want to remember how feeble Reagan was at the end of his second term . . . again . . . Ron Paul is too old . . .
Paul has zero chance of getting the nomination. He is just there to provide comic relief
Ron Paul Idea:
Lets Dismantle the Government!!! Who needs it?
Actually:
RON PAUL 2012!!!
More SNL material coming up.
Yeah, SNL parody worked so well for Palin.
Don't know if they are being bribed, Thomas Blue, but I would bet that they are receiving some campaign donations to keep them out there... a comedy writers dream!!!
SNL trued Palin into the laughing stock of the world
Do you think well see black panther supporting cain..oh thats right hes a repub no kick backs/welfare involved maybe he could influence the black vote bring back the 40 acers an a mule...
Witckking,
Palin still ran a state better than your governement union non-working
arse could.
Except that she didn't and quit half way through her first term.
Another GoP debate?? Please! None of this cast has a chance in 2012. Yes Multiplayer, lots of SNL material. Too bad Palin's not involved...
Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight....
I'm sure the 66+ democrats that the heroic Tea Party sent home packing last election would be the first to agree!!!!!!!!!!!
The heroic tea party that has shown itself to be a bunch of anti-working class, American taliban idiots that have an approval rating of about 12-14%?
Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight......
BTW-they are not hero's-they are screwballs.
I've got the popcorn ready!!!
It's like this reality show that just won't end. . . which one of these turkeys will prove the best in time for Thanksgiving?
Why are they having these 13 months BEFORE the election? They rally don't have that much to say. (Only the Repukes...................)
Obama always has a lot to say. I only wish he meant what he says. But he only lies.
Check snopes about all those "lies" the republicans have brainwashed people about.
Snopes is a left-wing liberal group. Check factorfiction.
Snopes is a left-wing liberal group because everyone knows that facts have a liberal bias.

Peace
It's too bad Huntsman won't bethere, not that they ever gave him much time to talk anyways. I think he and Romney are the only 2 that I could ever support. Dr. paul has some good ideas, and some that are just too far out there. Gingrich is a snake oil salesman who is just trying to cuddle upwith all ofthem so that he can continue to be an overpriced mouth piece. The rest; a bunch of right wing ideologues, who can't get out of their own way.
It's Mitt's night to rise above the crowd and become THE candidate. I think he will become the guy tonight. Romney 2012 !
Yeah, big-bank/flipflop Romney. He would do more of the same.
and we're comparing this to the last 4 years, right ?
What a joke
Don't get your hopes up Laura. Obama WILL still be president 4 years from now!
obamacare!!! drink!!!!!!!
BTW, Laura, wouldn't it be kind of difficult for Romney to repeal a law that was essentially his idea to begin with?
Laura
What Obamacare? I don't see public option in it. It is Republicancare. Your bill from 90's. Go look it up. Mandate was a republican idea. Of coarse you all got amnesia suddenly once democrats pushed after wasting time when they could have pushed the public option plan. What you expect him to fix economy after 8 years of Bush, or 30 years of trickle down economy from Reagan? you have to be joking with republicans kept blocking him in every turn and some own democrats not giving enough support in congress. You guys couldn't even come up with formidable opponent, that tells you something.
Anyone of them would be better than Obama, unless you just want the usa to go down the tubes.
They should make this a cage match :)
Bare Knuckles, but they don't have the Stones!
They might be able to see Russia from Sarah Palins porch!
Doesn't matter what the subject of the debate is...what it will turn into is one big tax cut for the wealthy fest.
Romney is an idiot..and well Perry, need I say more. I would have loved Trump to run! but I have always gone with Cain.. he is the only one who doesn't need a teleprompter.
Trump the serial bankrupter? And the serial cheater?
Yep-he's got those good right wing family values. You betcha.
Well Trish, when the only thing that comes out of his mouth is 9-9-9, he shouldn't need a teleprompter... Hellzbellz, even Bush could have remembered that much .. the debate just ended and everyone of them came off looking like a fum-ducker.
fum-ducker. I love it :-)
..
Hell, Palin could have written 9-9-9 on her palm.
Sorry, teabaggers and republicans. President Obama will be reelected in 2012.
I suggest that you go ahead and start that revolution you keep talking about.
A little advice though...get some practice before you take on the entire Federal Government.
Here's what you do: gather up all your guns and armaments and ammo, and call up the FBI.
Challenge them to a duel. After you deal with the FBI, you'll have the experience to take on the rest of the government.
Trust me...this will work for you.
How are you bringing the FBI into this.. another uneducated argument from a radical. Perhaps you need to go protest with the other idiots who want to punish those who worked for what they got. After all they should support you.
the 1 % are the ones who punish the people who worked hard for their money you idiot!
Lonewolf, where do you get your information?:
GE works for the house how many jobs do they not farm out and taxes???theres a lib problem,an you big union guys better get ready to grab your ankles them days are over lookn down your noses at real hard working amercians im a small bus.owner an you all dug your own grave better be shovel ready you and Jose..
TYPICAL lib Bigot!
Case in point. Your EXACTLY the type that will cause Obozo to be kicked out of office!
Thank You!
busy, I didn't know selling meth is considered being a small business owner.
"Lib bigot" but you call POTUS "Obozo"??
Also imbecile it's "you're" not "your".
