It's clear that Cain is lying since he keeps contradicting himself and changing his story. Now Mr.Pheaniques, maybe you can explain how we know Cain's accuser is lying?
(ok that is annoying)...2 complaints at one location in 3 years...fishy... this type of behavior is usually a lifelong pattern, there are either a lot more claims or settlements out there, or these 2 need a serious skeptical eye...
Fishy because Cain had been around for 20 years prior, and 20 since...normally you would be able to follow his trail...this isn't an instinct that just goes away
@Brian
I was in the middle of a thought when 1.1 just posted as 1.0 had...I know it looks worse than I intended...I was in the middle of back spacing
So, in your opinion, the first couple of women that accuse a man of sexual harassment can always be dismissed as dishonest until such time as more accusations emerge? Do you apply this logic in other areas as well? For example, would you find it reasonable to argue that someone couldn't possibly have committed a murder, or be a drug dealer, or a thief, etc. unless at least 3 separate infractions can be produced?
Why is he being so coy. He should just double down on his right to do some harrassment. He will get rousing cheer from the base and his poll numbers will go through the roof. Sexual Harrassment, bigotry, making a mockery those that don't have jobs, etc., is all part of the makeup of the Tbagger nation.
I wont try too hard to defend a sentiment, that was un-intended...except to say that it is very likely that he had been getting away with conduct that they found so offensive, or that his other "victims" had not found it quite so offensive...and in a he said she said from 12,15,16 years ago in this realm, according to other reporting the board had found their claims baseless, and 35,000 for aggregious behavior doesn't seem likely
Mr Cain is either slipping (as in old age) or he is a liar. If the former, he shouldn't be running, if the latter, he'll fit right in.
As to sexual harassment claims, the term and the risks of not settling are pretty dramatic, so in all honesty, he gets a pass if he stops lying, as the man lived through segregation for goodness sake, and like many of his era, we need to cut the man some slack.
If he was backing women into corners, physically accosting, or threatening their jobs, that would be another matter, but from what has been disclosed, these two gals were "uncomfortable". Not saying its right, but it kind of dilutes what real sexual harassment is - I know it, I've seen it, and lost a job because I backed up her complaint (I was her immediate boss, the owner harassed her).
I agree...In his defence, if he turns out to be defensible, its unlikely he's ever been on a stage this size, with this much media attention...It's referred to as the "Deer in the Headlights Syndrome"(I just made that up)...where even a basically honest person can begin panic lying
Yes exactly, except that Bill's lies were in a prepared deposition, that had been prepared and reviewed by team of white house lawyers, but yea, exactly like bill
Actually it's more like the "I wasn't picking my nose and eating my buggers, I had an itch"
see my post...about lying and truth in interogation...google it...peoples stories change a whole LOT more in the truth then lying, TV wants you to think differently, but ask real interviewers of police FBI etc...a perfect response and flawless story are certainly canned. in fact since CAIN didnt have a perfect story, and keeps recalling info adds more credibility...
and WHY NOW, not when he started his campaign, but only AFTER he has surged ahead of Romney, the white obama
Do not think for one second that the republicans have not spent tons of bucks trying to dig up something like this about Obama. They're all just pissed that Cain tripped over his libido and they can't pin anything similar on Obama. That's the difference between your businessman and your politician. The big businessman thinks money washes away all problems, especially those problems caused by your subordinates in a private organization. An experienced politician knows or should know, that they live under a microscope and that right or wrong all this garbage is going to come out. There is no such thing as civility in modern politics, if ever there was, and the republican right has nobody to blame but themselves for this situation. As Shakespeare might say they are "hoist by their own petard". Cain is a true fool if thought this would never come to light.
If he is not afraid, let the woman speak. He and Clarence Thomas give women the same value. There are other African-Americans worth of the Republican nomination.
Why would they choose a scumbag? Only the Republicans!
IRESPOND-2315268
WOW! Is anybody surprised that he admires justice Clarance Thomas? They both are the same: SCUM
!#1.18 - Wed Nov 2, 2011 7:01 AM EDT
spoken like a true democrat and socialist...two great AA men who accomplich great things and they are attacked and torn down because they defy the stero type....its just sickening
Well guess his 15 minutes is almost up, and his hopes of the lecture circuit and books maybe going into the @!$%#_ter also, I bet one of his Republican buddies stabbed him in his back, just goes to show can't trust anyone now days ....
I look forward to this being cleared up and finding out what political connections the accusers and this lawyer have. Dollars to donuts they'll turn out to be Democrat (connections).
spoken like a true democrat and socialist...two great AA men who accomplich great things and they are attacked and torn down because they defy the stero type....its just sickening
And as usual...People just read what they want to read...READ THE SECOND COMMMENT.
Clarence Thomas is not different from him. He got away with sexual allegations just because he was a justice...People still deny it. The truth is the truth.
Janet..."Kinda like Bill Clinton right?" Is it like Clinton? All Clinton had to do was tell the truth. The liberal media and Democrats would have given him a free pass. Most everyone else would have said, "OK, he admitted he did it and it was a mistake, let's move on." Clinton was not smart enough to see the blatantly obvious. Perhaps neither is Cain.
Dollars to donuts they'll turn out to be Democrat (connections).
I bet that's true, too. The Dems are desperate to find something wrong with Cain. While in 08, the media did everything possible to hide O's past, poor Cain won't have the media or Soros behind him.
To xrayspex (post #1.23): I somewhat agree, that I can't wait for the rest of the information to come out. Unfortunately it's become hazy, and even if we do get the full truth, one side will chose not to believe it.
But think about it. he was acused of sexual harassment by at least two women. He's said he didn't handle the investigation (telling his human resource dept and board to deal with it). We know there were payouts made to the accusers, and so there were no lawsuit. It may turn out to be dragged up by the Dem's. But it could be from any of the remaining Rep's too. Or the Rep party. Or....heaven forbid...by Mr. Cain himself. We know that his online fund raising has had it's best day ever, the day AFTER the story emerged. He advertises himself as a smart businessman. He came up with (or at least approved) the catchy 9-9-9 plan. So I wouldn't put it pass him to hurt himself a little, to gain sympathy and more money.
But I agree with you....can't wait for the full details. Hope his memory returns, and that the confidentiality aggreements are waived so we get the rest of the story.
"Jeff", you're right, this guy is joined at the hip in terms of Koch Brother connections, I'm not sure they want him as nominee, but he makes an excellent token in their minds and apparently Ann Coulter agrees:
"Our blacks are so much better than their blacks," she said, speaking of Democrats. "To become a black Republican, you don't just roll into it. You're not going with the flow...and that's why we have very impressive blacks in the Republican party."
errr..........the Democrats would actually LOVE to see Cain win primaries against other Republicans...........It is the Republicans that have much more to win by eating their own before the primaries so other contenders can win..............Your logic in blaming Democrats shows that you probably also are one of the posters that always blames Obama for everything you consider "wrong"
It's a "he said, she said" resurfacing as a "he said, she said"... imagine that! No, this isn't a political ploy. The "victim" is either out for more money or is seriously upset at the lying. Either way we will most likely never know the truth.
I can understand why Cain wouldn't want this out, but I don't understand how he thought it wouldn't get out.
Everyone talks bad about Cain on this panel and yet how some people forget the lies that Clinton done and made his wife look like a fool. Maybe this happened or maybe not, maybe these woman made this story up to get money out of it. Sometimes woman can be really slick on making false claims to get back at someone like Cain's situation. Its anyone's guess what really happend back then.
Let's see it took how many YEARS for the left to come out about Edwards and his "indiscretion", to say ANYTHING about Clinton but only took a day to come out against Cain !!!! Double Standard???? I don't know weather it's true or not but seem that the news organisations are playing favoritism as usual! Let's play fair boys!!!! :)
It isn't the lawyer calling Cain a liar it is the victim calling him a liar. If Cain would release her from the confidentiality agreement he imposed with the pay off we could hear her side. Cain lied about this at the beginning and now it is coming out. Why do you think an innocent man would lie?
I'm there, even if he thought he could keep it hidden, anyone of his advisors sure as hell knew better...which begs the question...was it the Cain advisors who leaked it, when they thought they could either recover from it or not waste their time waiting for it to be discovered by a rival or lucky reporter?????
@ Dick
well actually no, the lawyer said...I know her well, she would never make this up...now she may also be calling him a liar, but the lawyer definitely is
Wow, the libs are in full attack mode this morning......sorta like sharks when they get a whiff of blood. Fortuneately, one is still innocent until proven guilty (at least in theory), and so far, the proof consists of some journalists daily repeating a rumor...without any substantiation.
I have to agree, completely objectively with OBXRon. As if the 9-9-9 pizza deal Cain is trying to offer without even knowing the details of his plan, he's managed to PO most of the republican party with his various off the wall comments. The democrats would probably rather run against Cain then Romney. I'd look to his camp for this "startling" revelation.
Their is a big difference in sexually harassing someone and mutual enjoyment of sexual pleasures. One is complaining and the other is Oooooing. Unless you are personally involved it isn't anyone's business what someone else does sexually with mutually consenting adults. Americans need to change their interest from sexual relations to what is good for the country. Not saying sex isn't good for the country!
What Clinton did extramaritally isn't anyone's business execept those involved. The Republicans chased Clinton for 8 years trying to find something and that is all they could come up with after spending billions of your taxpayer's money. Talk about an obsession!
People, calm down. What Cain said was that he was aware of a framework for an outline for a summary of an agreement - not a settlement. Big difference. Once he figures out which of the women he is referring to, he will give clearer lies. So, relax.
I"m a state certified Civil Rights investigator with nearly 15 years of experience. I have worked my share of Sexual Harassment cases. There is no identifiable pattern. Some are substantiated and some are not. It mostly depends on the skill and determination of the investigator.
I do not know the particulars of these two cases and cannot comment on them specifically, but I can tell you that the fact they offered a settlement in at least one of the complaints, a year's salary, while not proof of guilt it certainly shows a level of concern regarding the validity of the complaint.
If the complaint was filed with the EEOC a Federal Investigator would have been assigned to the case and they would have issued the woman with a letter telling her she had the right to sue over her allegations. That means a Federal Investigator found that her complaint was substantiated and the way is cleared for her to file a Civil Rights lawsuit based on the alleged violation.
A Civil Rights complaint can get very expensive very quickly. If that woman had taken her complaint to trial it MIGHT (I say MIGHT) have resulted in a jury award ten or twenty times the $35,000 they paid to her. PLUS they would have to pay her attorney and their own attorney. The settlement can be viewed as a business decision in order to cut their risk and their loss but it is not proof of guilt. Only a court of law can decide that.
That said:
Two complaints during his brief tenure. Completely feasible, especially in men of Mr. Cain's generation. Old habits are hard to break.
You are right, there may be more complaints out there and those women will eventually come forward.
But the two complaints we know about are certainly cause for concern.
Total incompetence! Thats what make him a Republican front runner! But they will never find another King of incompetence like Bush... no matter how hard they try.
Herman is just a benevolent soul... Years ago he used to give all his female staffers a quarter each day for coffee, the only thing is they had to reach into his pocket to get it! lol
Dick: It wasn't "his" confidentiality agreement. It is not unusual in the least for former employees to be required to sign a confidentiality agreement upon termination of employment. And the "pay off"? Probably severance pay, nothing unusual about that either. If it was a true pay off, it would have been at least 10 times more.
No candidate should outright lie. But so many seem to have no problem with the lies from Obama. And his lies affect everyone and the U.S. Makes a little he said/she said seem kinda grade school gossip. Let's wait and see what the real story is...and let's HOPE the news media reports all the facts, not just what works for ratings and the left.
What Clinton did extramaritally was his business? So then why is this the business of the nation? Clinton was POTUS, diddlying in the Oval Office, no less. WOW...the double standard is mind boggling. This is small potatoes, and the "harrassment" was alleged to be either words or perception, and the "accused" a private citizen.
it is the culture of Washington political mentality; the rules do not apply to us, Obama administration, full of tax cheats, congress full of tax cheats, candidates of both party's leaving behind a basketful of wrong doing's; Washington is out of control, they do not give a damn about American values, only their personal self gain; Rome collapsed from corruption, immigration, foreign commitments, and wild spending; why do we think we are immune to the lessons of history, WAKE UP AMERICA, it may already be to late.
"Sexual Harassment" is a broad area, it can be construed in the most petty comment i.e. (you have lovely hair or she is as hot as a dog in heat), one intended as a complement and one with sexual inference.
Been there, I wasn't even envolved in the incident but was the one accussed because I was the supervisor. The accusser was on the other side of a partition in an office cubical with 5 other people, I had a station in the adjacent cube with 5 other people in it, the complaint came down several days after the so called incident that I called this female a feline name (a word I find repulsive, I prefer wimp). I don't know if I was in the cubical at that time and if I was, I was probably on the phone. Most time in the mornings I was on the floor getting people lined out for the days work. To make a long story short I was relieved of my position and suspended without pay over the allegation that it was I that made the comment. I was reinstated 2 weeks later when an employee came forward and confess that it was he that made the comment to another employee about the woman that messed up one of his jobs because she didn't want to take the heat for her error while substituting for him while he was on vacation. I was still reprimanded because I didn't take action on the incident when it happened, they didn't want to make up yhe pay, I guess. I told them that I would probably have a decrease in productivity because I would spend more time in the morning chasing witches and less time with customers until all employees were gone on there routes. Moved on to greener pastures 6 monthes later.
Turns out, the woman above was a free ride artist, shortly after I left the woman backed her company car into an on coming lumber truck and injured herself and was out for over a year on workmans comp. She ended up getting fired when and insurance investigator found her playing softball on a league team in a neighboring town.
Moral of the story don't judge a book by the cover. In the executive arena it is sometimes more cost effective to pay $100k to get rid of an accussation than to fight it. Think people don't know this? Ever wonder why, men accept plea bargins in sexual related charges when they claim they're innocent because they are guilty until proven innocent and it would take years and a fortune to defend themselves thanks to our wonderful legal system.
Saxon - It's hard to compare the United States to Rome, but there are certainly some similarities, and your post definitely hits the mark on some of the issues facing our government today.
As for Cain and this whole sexual situation: Why does this need to be played on the national stage? Isn't this an issue that should be worked out between Cain, his Wife, and the two women involved? The American' THIRST for 'skeletons in the closet" is pathetic. Let them work through this and the rest of us should keep our noses out of it.
Wrong. President Clinton had a consensual affair. He did not sexually harass.
Anyway, my main concern with Cain isn't that he is guilty of an impropriey 20 years ago (which was settled). My main concern is that he's just not very bright. He's charismatic and funny, but so was Sarah Palin.
Why the right wing continually tries to find the dumbest person in the room to support for candidacy is beyond me.
Bill Clinton has a long history of violating women. You forget about Ms. Willey, Jones etc. He was doing the same thing all his life and the liberals thought that was cute. Can't figure those weird birds out.
The Republican race has turned into The Wizard of Oz. Rick Perry wants a brain. Mitt Romney wants a heart. And any number of candidates are Dorothy, realizing there is no place like home and they should have stayed there.
Herman Cain is seeking courage. He needs the courage to face the fact he is never going to be the Republican nominee, no matter how well he does in the polls. He needs the courage to settle for something far better than the presidency: His own show on Fox.
If you don't like the politics of Biden and Obama, that's fine. But no one can make the argument that they are stupid.
Reagan, Bush Jr. (senior was pretty bright), Quayle, Palin, and every current candidate with the exception of Ron Paul and Huntsman are just plain dumb.
So what Clinton did was wrong and no, liberals didn't think it was cute. What gets me is the supposedly outrage from those on the right about Clinton's actions that are defending Cain for the same accusations. Were people really upset over Clinton simply because he was a Democrat? Bush spent money like there would be no tomorrow, nearly doubled the deficit, drove this country nearly into a depression, started a war against a country that never threatened us, and the Republicans never said a word. Let Obama spend some money to try to bring this country back from the deep recession he inherited and the Republicans cry foul. Let him support the removal of a dictator and the Republican cry foul.
All this tells me is how phoney the Conservatives are when they object to the action of a Democrat but defend the same actions from a Republican.
Cain supposedly "asked" a woman to his hotel room. Clinton had an officer "escort" a woman to his hotel room. Right, same thing. Clinton was accused of "raping" Juantia Broadrrick. Cain was accused of "lewd comment". Right, same thing. Clinton "perjured" himself. Cain "mispoke", maybe "lied", to a reporter. Right, same thing.
You lefties are funny people.
Dick - The Republicans didn't chase Clinton for eight years. He continued to lie until his case went to the Supreme Court. Had he been honest the matter would have gone away much quicker.
He was doing the same thing all his life and the liberals thought that was cute
Gravy,
Kind of a stretch, wouldn't you say? That's like saying that neo cons thought it was cute when Cheney shot that guy in the face or when Bush Sr. puked on the Japanese prime minister.
I don't think anyone thought President Clinton's transgressions were cute.
btone--The republicans are looking for the dumbest person in the room because, ever since Nixon, the party has decided that never again will they have a candidate or president that they cannot control. Nixon never trusted his own party which is why he formed the Committee to Re-Elect the President (CREEP).
The republicans had no idea what Nixon was doing and had no party control over his presidency. They went nuts when he travelled to China and made nice with the Soviets. It drove them crazy! Since then they will only push a candidate with great outward appeal but not much going on between the ears. Reagan, Bush II (his father actually thought for himself which is why the repubs let Clinton beat him out of a second term) McCain, Pallin, etc., all attractive candidates, none with enough intelligence to really think or act on their own. That's why you have Karl Rove and the Koch brothers, that's why you had REAL President Cheney. They need somebody to pull the strings on the brain dead puppets they try to get elected.
Obama graduated with a J.D. magna cum laude from Harvard in 1991. But then again, you probably have a problem understanding what magna cum laude means since you have a problem spelling your president's name correctly.
@ JH
Before Clinton was elected president the accusations, and that's all they were, were that he made sexual advances towards Paula Jones. It was after a full investigation that other sexual cases surfaced. Now would Cain or even Supreme Court Justice Thomas survive a full investigation like Clinton had leveled against him? I don't care but all they found against Clinton was his inaccurate account of a sworn statement. All others were accusations.
I can "say" or "allege" pretty much anything I want. Take Larry one post above me. I've never met the guy, or read any of his posts but I heard he was actually a demon posting on the internet on Hell's T1 line!
See? I doubt Larry has a horn or forked tongue, but I just said it. How come there's no CNN or MSNBC article about THAT?
Reagan, Bush Jr. (senior was pretty bright), Quayle, Palin, and every current candidate with the exception of Ron Paul and Huntsman are just plain dumb.
These guys are dumb? Do you know the difference between disagreeing with someones beliefs and how smart they are? My guess is these two guys a smarter then you will ever hope to be.
Herman Cain - Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics, a Masters in computer science, worked full-time as a ballistics analyst for the U.S. Department of the Navy,
Mitt Romney - Romney became one of only 15 students to enroll at the recently created joint Juris Doctor/Master of Business Administration four-year program coordinated between Harvard Law School and Harvard Business School. He graduated in 1975 cum laude from the law school, in the top third of that class, and was named a Baker Scholar for graduating in the top five percent of his business school class.
All they found against Clinton was his "innaccurate account" of a sworn statement. You mean PERJURY?
"All others were accusations" - What do you call this stuff about Cain?
And Clinton was the Attorney General of Arkansas when he raped Juanita Broadrrick. But it was just an accusation and no need to fully investigate something as petty as that about such an important man. Right?
Kyle - so you heard that about Larry too? Must be true. No need for an investigation.
I don't care but all they found against Clinton was his inaccurate account of a sworn statement. All others were accusations.
Clarence Thomas, and Herman Cain have also only had "accusations" thrown at them. Even if these women come forward and tell their side of the story it is still just an accusation. There is no proof Cain said or did anything wrong, it would come down to a he said, she said argument with those believing who they want, which is similar to the Clinton cases. I don't know who is telling the truth and who is lying, but I do know the media has a different standard when dealing with "ACCUSATIONS". This Lawyer coming out and representing his client is what lawyers do, but in reality the lawyers statements bring nothing new to the table.
Isn't the contrast in "investigative journalism" amazing when you look at the difference between 2008 and 2011 heading into 2012.
In 2008, everything Obama said was pure gold. He could never do anything wrong. Forget Revrend Wright. Forget that he had no voting past to speak of - other than letting everyone know he was there a lot. Forget that many folks, including some of his relatives, were saying that he was not born in the US.
IN 2011 heading into 2012, every Republican is being looked at with a microscope. They're out x-raying rocks to find out what was painted on them 20 years ago. They're dragging sexual harrassment charges from 12 years ago out of the closet with no way to prove what happened or what was decided because everyone agreed not to talk about it in a legally binding manner.
AS far as the allegations go, until such time as they can be fully discussed I couldn't care less. Because until they can be fully discussed it is nothing more than "He said - She said" diatribe. It's time to get to the actual issues and stop wasting time.
btone,
It's pretty easy to make the case the Obama and Biden are not exactly bright. Take Obama for instance. His number one go to guy on the economy can't run Turbo Tax well enough to get his taxes in on time. Exactly how bright are you if you go to someone like this for advice on what to do with the economy?
Additionally, his number one "jobs council" guy is the CEO of a company that just sent how many thousands of jobs as well as the technology that those jobs support to China? But, this is the guy that is there to help get Americans back to work.
It's hard to believe this did not come from a GOP rival. My money is on the Perry Camp as he needs something to happen to grab Cain's supporters in hopes of beating Romney.
Don't politicians ever learn from eachother? Be forthright and honest - and people will forgive you. Dance around the truth, and people will hate you for it.
First of all "two wrongs don't make it right" so PLEASE ... all of you folks stop pulling "Clinton" out of your butts!!!!!
Secondly ... If the charges have any merit or not ... Cain is who he is ... a Black in black face only ... standing on the backs of Blacks who have paved the way for equal rights ... and instead of giving them thanks and respect ... he gives them scorn!!!
A typical GOP Negro who was a token gimmick from the start .........
All they found against Clinton was his "innaccurate account" of a sworn statement. You mean PERJURY?
I just wish they could get Bush and Cheney to give a sworn statement about the "intelligence" that lead to the war in Iraq and investigate them like they investigated Clinton over White Water. Talk about double standards. The trouble with you on the right is your belief that a Conservative can do no wrong and a Democrat can do no right. Even when they are doing the same thing as it doesn't matter if you shoot a man in the heart or you shoot him between the eyes, you shot a man.
Here you're saying Clinton raped a woman but all the investigation on Clinton did not turn up any evidences. Yet you make the statement that he raped her based on hearsay. In other words, you believe what you want to believe because Clinton is a Democrat and defend Cain because he's a Republican. No other reason.
The young woman was chained to an agreement to maintain silence, yet her aggressor, for want of a better description, is free to call her a liar. Yep, I'd want to break that silence agreement, as well. And money would NOT be the reason why.
I speak with first hand experience, having a public official harass me by physically slipping his hands inside my clothing. No misunderstanding there. His higher-ups, supervisors, whathaveyou, they all were his bestest good buddies. Think I could complain? Not a chance. But when I got married, it irritated him. He changed his tactics and started verbally harassing me. I got fed up and quit. Later, I found out I could have filed a claim against him. As it was, I did nothing.
Two years after the fact, I applied for a similar job in a similar field, and one of his cronies made sure I didn't get the job. What was my crime in quitting? I made my boss live in fear of a lawsuit, and that was unforgiveable. I never once threatened him with one. I just walked.
If this girl needs to defend herself, I say she should have that right. Let those of us who hear both sides decide if Cain is still a viable Republican candidate.
I spent years in corporate America and I will tell you it is extremely common to give a "package, settlement, enhanced severance" etc. to a protected class of employee ( Women, Minorities, over 40) to get rid of them. The allegations don't have to have merit. It is far cheaper and easier to cut a check to a disgruntled employee than get lawyers involved.
The National Restaurant Association is in the business of promoting the Food Service Industry and does not want bad publicity. They likely have a policy of quickly handling any hint of scandal.
The difference between GOP and Dems is that if this turns out to be true, Cain is done like dinner ( like the NRA tie in?). He will sink like a rock if one or more of these accusers turns out to be credible. Dems all knew Clinton used his power and position to abuse women. Dems and the liberal media were ok with the hypocrisy.
My gut feel is this will turn out to be a situation where two people were clowning around acting silly and things were said or done that Cain thought were funny and the woman thought were harassment ( perhaps with a lawyers help). The GOP will likely dump Cain, because we have a belief in how the leader of the free world should act. The most powerful man in the world should not stick his d*ck in the mouth of a 22 year old intern. The most powerful man in a company should not be clowning around with employees.
Billy Graham would never travel alone with women and would never meet with women alone in his office. I know it seems old fashioned and sexist, but it is probably not bad advice.
Before you bring up Clarence Thomas again, Anita Hill was not credible, and there was no other corroborating evidence. In all honesty, this looks worse for Cain than the Thomas trumped up charges.
The GOP will dump Cain if this turns out to be true.
All of this is distracting from the REAL story...the fact that Mark Block and Herman Cain committed a FELONY by illegally transferring funds from Prosperity USA to the Cain campaign (money which, by the way, came secretly from David Koch).
As hard as it is for Cain supporters to grasp reality, please try to follow along and actually educate yourselves...
If telling Blacks they don't need the Government to provide for them, that they can achieve everything they want and dream of if they work hard, if that makes him a gimmick, I feel bad for the black community. Cain has given thanks and respect to those who paved the way, but he thinks now blacks need to stand up and take advantage of the opportunities these folks have given them instead of voting for Democrats who continue to tear down the black community in hopes of enslaving them to the government.
Also the point about Clinton is not a two wrongs make a right point, they are simply pointing out the media's different standards when it comes to White Democrats, and Black Conservatives.
Gary 420 ... sorry ... people at this point are not just judging him on what he did or didn't do in the past ... they are judging him for his out and out lying and evasiveness that he's spewing out TODAY!
The truth is that racism is typically most effective when you put a Black face on it, and Herman Cain has volunteered to become the cute little political puppet which allows Republicans to say the things that they are afraid to say. Most of his comments are not the kinds of things he could say about other ethnic groups; if he were to say that all Jews were brainwashed (as he said about African Americans), he’d be off the stage before finishing his sentence. Cain has become the shock jock of the Republican Party. But when the dust settles and the smoke clears, the Republican leadership will ask Cain to walk off the track in the same way the pace setter is removed after the first two laps of a big Olympic race. While Cain gladly accepts the rewards that come from the sacrifices of others, Cain cannot profess to have been willing to make necessary socio-political sacrifices himself. He stands on the backs of the brave, yet joins forces with the descendants of their historical oppressors. No different from the way he ducked and hid from those who marched with Dr. King in the 1960s, Herman Cain is ducking and hiding from doing the right thing today. So, not only is Herman Cain a political gimmick, he is also a conniving coward.
Dr.Boyce Watkins - Professor at Syracuse University - Black Speaker of the Year
My guess is these two guys a smarter then you will ever hope to be.
Logic Required,
You'd be wrong.
Let me guess. You're the one republican who actually values education. The one who doesn't feel that using correct English is "elitist" and "out of touch" and who recognizes that cogent explanations aren't "professorial lecturing". The one republican who'd prefer to vote for someone who can think rather than someone he can "have a beer with".
Herman Cain, for all of his education, is a moron. The nation has literally watched him contradict himself from sentence to sentence. He can't remember what he said two days ago. He's a one-trick pony with his 9-9-9. He is absolutely clueless about the everything else involving the presidency.
I'll give you Mitt. He's pretty smart. He has no backbone, but he's pretty smart.
The rest of them, Bachmann, Perry, Pawlenty, are just @!$%#ing dumb.
Me thinks someone should change their user name because there is no logic in your statement.
Well Larry, me thinks you should explain why there is no logic in my statement. Which statement are you referring to? It's great for you to think something, we on the right encourage you on the left to try thinking a little each day until it gets easier for you. Now try to explain your thought and clarify what you're thinking. (If this is to hard for you in one day I understand.)
"Cain has given thanks and respect to those who paved the way" WRONG ... show where!!!!!!!!!
"Cain has given thanks and respect to those who paved the way, but he thinks now blacks need to stand up and take advantage of the opportunities these folks have given them" .... Explain "these folks"
Sometimes bigotry hides in funny places of the mind!!!
Funny you should mention WMD's. If they're going to have Bush and Cheney sign sworn statements about the "intelligence" that lead to the Iraq war, they better have Clinton swear to the "intelligence" that lead him to drop bombs on Iraq. Go read the Clinton transcript of December 1998 of Iraq bombings and get back with me about WMD's and "nuclear weapons" that Clinton talked about. You lefties can be real hypocrites about politics. There are rotten aholes in both parties but you lefties think your side can do no wrong. And if ever your guy does do somethnig wrong it is OK because he means well. BS. But it just isn't worth the time to investigate your guys because they have such important work to do. Total BS.
It's been fun chatting with you but it is obvious that you are stuck in your views of the left being superior to the right. I am on the other side and don't feel inferior because my views are different from yours. In fact, this current administration has been so terrible for our country that there is no way I could ever switch to your views. President Obama should never have joined Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi on the FAR left. But he did and that is why he is going to be a one term President. I can only hope.
Education is important, but I also value experience and vision. Being book smart doesn't mean you have any common sense. Herman Cain is in a no win situation so I'm not judging him until more comes to light. I watched Clinton change stories, and say things like "it depends what the meaning of "is" is.I still think he is and was a smart guy. I don't think Perry, Bachmann, or Pawlenty are smart, and I also agree that Mitt is smart with no backbone, but very few politicians have a backbone when running for election, they move in whatever direction they think will give them the best chance to win, it's a given and almost everyone does it. I think Newt is smart, but is to much of a politician. If you disagree with them that is fine, if you think they don't articulate their arguments that's fine too, but I just fine the "their dumb" statement to be .... "dumb".
Zorro - typical left tactic. What's the matter, you don't know how to use a persons FULL statement? LEFT WING RHETORIC, The truth, the half truth and nothing but the half truth.
Also the point about Clinton is not a two wrongs make a right point, they are simply pointing out the media's different standards when it comes to White Democrats, and Black Conservatives.
This is so far to the right you're about to fall off the edge. The so called liberal media is a myth that those like you try to pass on to the people when in fact the media is owned and controlled by Conservatives. Why else is it that every time I turn on the news there's a Republican bashing Obama? Where were they when Bush used false intelligence to invade Iraq. They were told the intelligence were false but chose to keep quiet.
@JH
Yeah, I am a registered Independent in the state of Florida but to you I'm a liberal because I'm fed up with the BS the Republicans have pulled in the last 20 years. Certainly the Democrats are not perfect but in the last 20 years they are far better than the Republicans have had to offer. When they put a candidate that has the intelligence to speak a coherent sentence without contradicting themselves I will consider giving them my vote but all I've seen and heard from them is how the poor wealthy are suffering from being overtaxed. Absolutely nothing about how to get this country back on it's feet by passing jobs bills.
I agree with some of your comments. Since I consider you a brave person, by placing a title in one of these posts, I would like to ask you what it is that you mean by this:
Herman Cain is ducking and hiding from doing the right thing today.
From what I read on Logic's comment "these folks" are MLK, Rosa Parks, etc etc. No bigotry there, ya'll and your "uncle tom" comments though that's another story.
ya'll and your "uncle tom" comments though that's another story.
It may sound like bigotry to you but show me where it's wrong. He's a black man taking the side and views of the white man. If that sounds like bigotry to you then so be it but it's the truth.
On the other side, how about the comments calling Obama a monkey? I've seen many of those from those on the right. Not bigotry?
IRESPOND-2315268 ... I did not place my title, in that comment ... I was quoting "Dr.Boyce Watkins - Professor at Syracuse University" who is a much braver soul then I ...
Zorroaca44, I actually agree with you, despite our political differences. The issue is always the coverup. Nixon could have quickly disposed of Watergate. Clinton could have quickly disposed of Monica by telling the truth.
My sense is Cain is imploding and the GOP to its credit will dump him. Unless he immediately gets on top of this he is done. If it were me and I was truly innocent, I would want the women identified ( with their consent) so the public could judge the issue. The longer this goes on, the worse it is.
Liberals please note there are very few conservatives defending Cain today. We hold our leaders to a higher standard.
Before this broke, I was a Cain supporter. Ron Paul and Newt are starting to look pretty good! Bachmann has always looked good ( oops that is sexist!)
I love Florida, used to live there and hope to return in retirement.
I can't understand your hatred for Republicans because of the last 20 years. the Democrats owned American politics for over 50 years. The Republicans took control of maybe half of Congress in the mid eighties for just 3 years. It wasn't until the Clinton mid-terms in 96 that the Republicans had control of both houses of Congress. That is not 20 years of Republican legislation. Congress controls the direction of the country, the President can only put his stamp on what they do. As far as a person being a coherent speaker, President Obama is a very good speaker but look at his record. It isn't totally his fault but the dems promised to fix everything if we elected them in 2006. We did. They failed.
This President's current jobs bill is not a jobs bill, it is a tax raising bill and a vote buying bill. If you look back in history you will see that raising taxes has just about always had a negative effect on revenue coming into the Treasury. The tax cuts that all the lefties scream about were for every American. In fact the majority went to the middle class. Our current administration should not be given more money to spend.
Just a suggestion for the Teapublicans who have decided that, rather than questioning Herman Cain and his views on women, they will go with the "Well, Dems did it too" defense:
If you are going to choose a Dem scandal to distract from the accusations against your own candidate, stop going with Clinton, and go with somebody more recent: Anthony Weiner. He did something stupid and when he got caught he denied, denied, denied, made unconvincing statements, and blamed people in the other party. Of course, unfortunately for Herman Cain, we all know how that turned out....
Gary 420 ... I respect your civility but Cain has not changed one bit in my eyes ... he's the same fool of a man as he was before the charges ... and yes we do have "political differences" because I see the total GOP field as a bunch of sorry souls ... and that's keeping to my best behavior .....
Funny you should mention WMD's. If they're going to have Bush and Cheney sign sworn statements about the "intelligence" that lead to the Iraq war, they better have Clinton swear to the "intelligence" that lead him to drop bombs on Iraq.
The big difference is that Clinton's information was considered true at the time when Bush's information was proven unreliable before he invaded. There was no denying that Iraq had WMDs and he was told to destroy them which lead to Clinton's bombing of Iraq (which got Republican criticism by the way). The issue is that Bush made statements that Iraq was making WMDs which was never proven. In fact Rumsfeld and Cheney went on Meet The Press and said they knew where they were. They were never found because they were never there. Bush made a statement that Iraq was buying yellow cake uranium which was proven false and the document was proven to be a forgery in September 2002 before Bush asked for Authorization for Use of Military Force Against Iraq Resolution of October 2002.
President Obama is a very good speaker but look at his record. It isn't totally his fault but the dems promised to fix everything if we elected them in 2006. We did. They failed.
How much of that do you put on the Republicans in general and McConnell in particular? Every jobs bill presented to congress was blocked from day one by McConnell and his caucus of Republicans. Not saying it's completely bad but a president can only ask and sign a passed bill. He cannot create legislation on his own.
Now if you will excuse me, I have to mow the grass.
Isn't it not the cats meeow that Mr. Cain is able to say one thing and the contradict it as he pleases while these women are unable to defend themselves at all. Another way the LAW and republican tea baggers love to keep women down. Take advantage of them if you will, sexually harass them based on there womanhood if I may.
In fact not only does Mr. Cain wish to keep woman from making choices for themselves and FORCING them to carry to term RAPE babies even his wife that you have NEVER heard from, he acts as though he alone should tell the story when it is HE alone that was complained about to the tune of a years salary. Hmmm.
He also seems to be up against some real legal trouble for illegal campaign contributions is it? I do hope there is a woman prosecutor in the case indeed. And we will then see once more how Mr. Cain denigrates and speaks down to women will we not? Hmm. ; ]
Herman Cain .. A product of affirmative action that he now views as liberal communism .. He would be delivering Pizza .. if not for the social programs he is now firmly against .. his sexual morality .. is of no importance to the Tea Party.. all they care about is his willingness to impose the TP social agenda on the rest of America .. if he is successful or a failure .. makes no differance to the TP because when they have no more use for his low class wit ..he will be thrown under the bus and put back in his place.
ya'll and your "uncle tom" comments though that's another story.
I've never called President Obama any such thing, nor did I ever call President Bush any such thing. BUT if you want to get technical, with the big ears and the goofy expressions, I can see the resemblance. I'm unsure of your question though because it was not bigotry to say it to Bush but it is to Obama correct? I guess I just don't see it. When I was a small child I loved bananas and climbed trees better than most of the boys so my uncle called me monkey as a nic name, is that bigotry?
"he's a black man taking the sides and views of a white man", WTH does that even mean? Because we have different skin colors we shouldn't be able to agree on anything?
I also must put fourth the idea that Mr. Cains supporters believe BECAUSE I repeat, BECAUSE he is black he should not be charged or be run through the news cycle for his past indiscretions. Those who are questioning and soon to be prosecuting are not doing this because he is black. They are doing so BECAUSE he DID IT. ; ]
BUT yet there seems to be a faction that want's YOU all to assume that it is being done because he is black while at the SAME time expecting it SHOULDN'T be done,... BECAUSE hes black.
And as Ann Coulter said "Our Blacks are better then there Blacks". On Fox news in an interview. As does the Slow Rush of Limabaugh they must feel they OWN black people still. Hmm. ; ]
1SGFitzsWife4ID you make a lot of sense!!! But I will quote the post of "independent jim ... Herman Cain .. A product of affirmative action that he now views as liberal communism .. He would be delivering Pizza .. if not for the social programs he is now firmly against ...
Why the right wing continually tries to find the dumbest person in the room to support for candidacy is beyond me.
That's easy. It's because the powers behind the GOP want someone who's easy to control, who won't go getting ideas of his/her own. That's why they trashed John McCain in 2000. Bush was a puppet, they weren't so sure about McCain.
Zorroaca44- the same can probably be said about President Obama too when it comes to affirmative action, would he have gone to college without it? I'm not bashing anyone,I'm just saying what's good for he goose is good for the gander. Believe me i have no intentions of voting for Mr. Cain, I just find it wrong to call him an "Uncle Tom" just because he's a conservative.
Why the right wing continually tries to find the dumbest person in the room to support for candidacy is beyond me.
we're just weeding out the idiots until people realize Ron Paul is the only choice.
1SGFitzsWife4ID ... this is where you are wrong ... we don't consider Cain an "Uncle Tom" because he is a conservative ... there are plenty of conservative Blacks who are not "Uncle Toms"! You need to pay closer attention to what he says and how he actually got to where he is ...
And as far as Ron Paul ... I hope you are not as nutty as he is!!!! He made a lot of sense years ago ... age can be a ass kicker even for the brightest ...
What would be absolutely hilarious would be for the NRA to waive the confidentiality clauses, the women go to the press with the agreements, and *surprise* down at the bottom, signing for the NRA, Herman Cain, President and CEO..... ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha.
One of the first questions any potential candidate gets asked by people running a campaign, even before they announce a plan to form an exploratory committee is, tell me about the skeletons in the closets. Do you have a reletive in jail, have you ever been arrested for drugs, DUI, any criminal activity, accused of any sexual activty, etc. etc.
Add this to the fact that Herman Cain has had cancer. You are never "cured" of cancer, it just goes into remission, hopefully never to return. Do we really want a President who has had cancer and sexual harassment ?
Umm...old fat guy...it was the restaurant association who spent the money (to cover Herman Cain's a$$), and now he has broken the confidentiality agreement by speaking about it. What does that say about HIS character?
That is one of the bad things about Florida, you can't put off mowing the grass because the weather doesn't get in your way often enough.
I don't put much blame on Republicans for many of the "jobs bills" not being passed. Most of the bills have had tax increases tied to them and the republicans have said don't even try to raise taxes. It not unlike the dems when Bush wanted to try and change Social Security. The dems said if you don't take "privatization off the table we will not even come to the table. Each party has their limits and they need to work together. They are not working together. But I don't think taxes need to go up unless you have everyone put some skin in the game. Let ALL of the Bush tax cuts expire, otherwise NONE. The dems have had since January 2007 to right the so-called wrongs of the past. They are not doing a very good job. The republicans have offered bills to create jobs since they took control of the House in January 2010. You have to ask Harry Reid why he is stopping them from being heard.
I am not going to bother to discuss the reasons for going to war with Iraq but both parties took us there. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said on the Senate floor that she thought long and hard and knew it was the right thing to do. Have you heard either her or Bill ever join the chorus of "Bush lied"? I haven't, and if those two could just step up and say something in support of Bush it might just bring a little more partisanship to our government. I strongly believe we needed to get rid of Saddam.
JH-479998 ... leave to an GOP idiot with a hard on to change a Cain sexual harassment case into garden variety GOP propaganda line .... kind off makes you sick ...........
Can I also reiterate that this is unlike the Clinton scandal because it is a charge of "sexual harassment" vs. *consensual* (albeit, eh, graphic) sexual contact?
The lying and covering up (IF Cain is actually lying or covering up) are also different, in that Clinton was under oath.
I think Clinton's abuse of the office was pretty disgusting, as much as I may lean liberal. With regard to Cain, we should also all be fully aware of the Dominique Strauss-Kahn situation, where the charges of assault did end up looking like a political assassination. I will say, I think it is far too early (and probably against their best interests) for Democrats or the President to get involved in this sort of mud slinging. Seems more likely, since it came out in such a timely manner, to be a desperate candidate for the Republican nomination taking aim at a frontrunner. I don't believe it is beneath the political operatives of either party, but whatever the motivation, just possibly it does deserve a little scrutiny by future voters. Let's hear how he ultimately addresses it.
JH-479998 ... it's just so difficult to see you going on and on spewing out the same old GOP talking points while you really don't know what you're talking about ... a typical GOP air head ...
I appreciate your post. Harrassment should not be tolerated for any reason. Nor should frivilous complaints either. I once was targeted myself - it's amazing what people can twist into something to complain about. Mine was so twisted even my bosses couldn't figure out how that could be said. Worse yet it wasn't being threatened by the woman, it was by her mother. I was thoroughly surprised to have been even implicated. On the other hand, I've seen others clearly harrass and never get complained about.
Just to let you know though that constitutional Attorney Mark Levine's staff looked up the complaints made by two of the women who previously came forward, read off what they said, and proceded to explain why thier complaints did not meet the legal criteria for sexual harrassment.
It's amazing how many lawyers there are out there who could do the same thing, and are sitting on their hands.
Consider this - 90% of all lawyer donations - go to the democratic party. Either the democrats pass lots of laws that make them lots of money or the democrats simply are for the poor and helpless. Being most of those lawyers make $100 - $500 per hour - I don't think it's for the poor and helpless - do you?
Regardless, when politics is involved, it's the seriousness of the charge that's important, and not necessarily whether a real wrong has been committed - if there is an R after a candidates name - isn't it?
Cain remembered the woman's performance wasn't up to par, but not the Harassment Suit? He remembered the severance 35,000 but, not that it was because of a Harassment suit?
When you file Civil Law Suits, everyone involved has to give a SWORN DEPOSITION subject to Perjury!
Everyone making excuses for Herman Cain at least proves, they have never been sued and know nothing about the Law.
GET THIS! The LAWYER say's he know's this woman and she wouldn't lie, so that confirm's it. Really? Really? A LAWYER! Ha, ha, ha please pick me up off the floor!
Uh Dick, these were allegation's. I do believe I saw you about 10 year's ago ----ing a young, dead, male goat. That would make you an alleged beastial, child molesting, homosexual, necropheliac. And I beleive I know a lawyer that would testify that he has known me for a long time and I wouldn't falsely accuse anyone. Funny how that work's. Send your check to.......
My, how brave of this woman to lob these accusations while hiding behind a coinfidentiality agreement. And let's see. She was given $35,000. That's chump change. Says to me the restaurant assoc., just wanted her to take her fabricated charges and go away. If the news media did more than just shill for the liberal cause they'd go after the real story in this case. Find out who leaked it. That's what I want to know.
So Debbie, if I understand you correctly, you don't care to find out if this candidate is guilty of the accusation, you just want to know who is responsible for revealing the story to the press? And what are you going to say if it turns out to be a republican that leaked it?
You seem to have that backwards: She wants to do away with the confidentiality agreement so she can actually make the accusations. Though it's a sad testament to our "justice" system, $35K worth of hush money certainly saved Cain from having to pay a much larger sum when found guilty.
Debbie - Get a clue. Cain settled under the condition that they not divulge the specifics of the charges. The confidentiality requirement was imposed on the 2 women by Cain/his counsel.
vs, get your own clue, the woman (not sure about #2) agreed to payment to be quiet. In other words, she sold out for $35k, so obviously she wasn't harmed, she just figured out a way to get money for nothing.
If a real crime was committed, it should have been prosecuted. I wonder what her attorney earned?
Sexual harassment has turned into the "hot coffee" lawsuit nonsense. I've seen it both ways, and this doesn't pass the smell test.
That said, Cain was an idiot for not divulging this information up front. Maybe he thought he'd get a pass like Obama has with his criminal associations both past and current.
or maybe he figured it was NBD (no big deal). at the same time if it were such a big deal and true, why didnt it come out earlier, but instead ONLY AFTER Cain surged ahead of Romney...please tell me you all can read between the lines...
btw brian is a dem obama lover, and we all know obama is scared to death of Cain
Cain may have slew Albe in the BIBLE, but this can is going to dethrone obama and his czar socialist network
If there is nothing to it, as Cain has basically said (not to mention his statement on the matter with regard to his wife's height and the height of one of the accuser's making absolutely no sense whatsoever) then let everyone relevant to the situation speak. His varying statements on the subject have only fueled the fire. IMO, trying to sweep things under the rug, only makes the carpet look like it was poorly laid.
What in the world does the president have to do with this? Pull your head out of that deep, dark tunnel it is shoved up in. Considering your logical, thoughtful (not) posts 2.7 and 2.9, the pulling cannot commence quickly enough. The subject is Herman Cain. Let ME guess, you are an Obama hater.
This is how scared the Dems are of Herman Cain. With him in the running, they can't play the race card. I'm not saying he's innocent, but the hypocracy of the left always comes to light when any non-white GOP candidate steps in the spotlight.
Hiding,,hardly, sounds like she wants out from that agreement to keep quiet. Give her the out and let it all hang out,,,or maybe , lets see if Herman needs to be hanged !
ALL men in power are liars, from Obama down to the lowly lawyers. What else is new? Next.
Get on to more important news, like where my tax money is being thrown away at the moment while at the same time helpful programs are suffering because of lack of money.
Anyone who has ever been the accuser in a EEOC claim (harassment, etc) knows the living Hell it is. All the "protections" aside, no one wins.
Take the money and run? That's just a sensible choice, unless you live for the job.
Check out the history on Jensen v. Eveleth Taconite Co. It was a case that went on for years and showed how many ways a victim can be violated, both by the perps and the justice system.
"Schwartsy", spare me. Politico asked Cain twelve days ago to provide his side of the story before the article was going to be published. He didn't. Then it breaks and after a news cycle and 12 hours later he remembers things? Give me a damn break. Politico is not a lefty news outlet. The "left" could care less. Herman Cain stepped in it on his own and the story is alive because he can't seem to get it straight. How do you forget two harassment suits, really??? The ugly truth is that this was probably an inside job from his own detractors in the GOP.
Cain's candidacy is an insult to the American people.. This speaks very poorly about the GOP field, and they should call for his ouster.
We deserve better than Herman Cain.
However, now we will be FORCED to accept Romney (President "RUN ME" ...,into the ground),...the wealthiest candidate by far with almost $200 million dollars to his name. Any guess who he will govern on behalf of ? As I said,...his name is "RUN ME" (into the ground),...not Romney.
Just say "No" to Cain and Romney.
Herman Cain is a cad,...and a very poor liar who figures his hush money will keep his heinous actions from being known.
You right wingers crack me up. You call people Obama lover like the south called people n------ lovers. That's not an insult to democrats, only in your own dark, racist minds. Please run Cain. Guarantee another four years for Obama. No thinking person wants a pizza deal for a tax program. The guy is a joke, skin color notwithstanding. There is a lot of fear going on here, but it isn't coming from the democrats.
No Paul F, you're the one who needs to get a "clue". Sexual harassment is a form of sex discrimination that violates "Title VII of the CIVIL rights act of 1964". It is not a CRIMINAL offense. It can ONLY result in monetary damages, not jail time... UNLESS, of course, it becomes a physical assault.
No, Debbie. I would wager Cain was a loose cannon and the incident probably wasn't overt enough to go mainsteam over it. She accepted the hush money and went away -- until now. Moreover, this is not a "liberal" issue. This seed was planted by one of the Republican candidates to get him out of the race. Look for Mitt "I waffle like Kerry" Romney to win the nomination. What is about those guys from MA?
IT LEAKED FROM THE GODD DAMM REBULICANS. "You know him, Karl Rove"
Needle brain Debbie. So in your eyes a small settlement is an amount that states a woman is lying? WOW. You and ignorant CoCaine deserve each other. "Swatttt fly on the wall!!!!"
Debbie, it appears from reading the article that the woman involved is not accusing Herman Cain of anything, she is simply trying to get his permission to speak to his accusations about her character & motives. She was not the one who leaked this to the press, one of his opponents, a Republican, did! There has been virtual silence from the Democrats over this charge (with the exception of comments from people like me on the web!) This has been GOP/TP attacks on one of their own!
Good heavens, I thought 'Blame the Victim' was a defense attorney's job, not the rest of us. Let's be objective and give everyone the benefit of the doubt. Let the woman speak out if she wishes, since her character has been smeared. I'm tired of all the partisan infighting and would love a little bit of openness in this debate.
My, how brave of this woman to lob these accusations while hiding behind a coinfidentiality agreement.
You do understand the confidentiality agreement is meant to protect Cain, right? No, I guess you don't. If the woman wanted to "hide," she wouldn't have made the claim in the first place.
Has anyone ever thought that in big business, matters involving employees are handled a human resources department. A complaint would be filed, a request for information sent to Cain, a company lawyer decides how it should be handled regardless of how Cain may have felt about being innocent or guilty. In this case a deal was cut to swiftly move past this. (which most companies do as a standard policy)
Cain doesn't have the experience to understand that he should of been on top of this or understand what this looks like when you are know directly asked to answer questions that your company lawyer would answer for you.
I would actually believe that the woman in question could possibly see a much bigger payday if allowed to talk. It would not matter if it was the truth or a lie at this point, just big head lines and big paydays. I wouldn't play into it if I were Cain. I would just let it dissolve and let folks keep their doubts
"There has been virtual silence from the Democrats over this charge".
Where have you been?? Living under a rock? It was all over MSNBC, CNN, MoveOn.org, The Huffington Post, Chris Mathews and Rachael Madcow's shows. Every left-wing political hack out there is beating this dead horse for all its worth. They make sure to use the correct language with their "nods and winks", like "accused", "made accusations of", etc. but they already have Cain "Convicted".
The only reason this woman want out of her "confidentiality Agreement" is because she and her lawyer smellMONEY, by "SELLING HER SIDE OF THE STORY". About how her "charges" weren't take seriously by "The Good Ole Boys Club" at the Restaurant Owners Association. About how she was "FORCED" to accept the "settlement". ETC.
All those who attach Cain for "changing his story", have you ever stopped to think he might not have known the detail or even that the situation occurred until the Politico "Broke" the story? You didn't. Maybe the ROA board of directors and HR department received these women's complaints, investigated, consulted with their attorneys, and offered a "settlement" without ever informing Mr. Cain, because they didn't find the complaint valid, but settled due to potential cost of "going to trial" as has been mentioned in other posts. A jury can award Millions of dollars to a "victim" because they "feel sorry for them", or "hate Evil Corporations, (think OWS protesters)", even when FACTS don't support the "victim's" claims.
Ht....she had a good paying job. Her boss harassed her. It made her very uncomfortable. She did what the HR policy told her to do and reported it. Then, because the HR policy book told her to go to that person's superior, she had an attorney go to the board. She didn't make out like a bandit, retiring in splendor. She got a one year's cushion to find another job.
The only reason she wants out of the confidentiality agreement is because Cain has broken HIS end and is talking smack about the accusation's being baseless. She didn't bring this out. Somebody ELSE leaked it.
she wasn't harmed, she just figured out a way to get money for nothing.
Until you've had somebody stick their personal body parts in places on your body reserved for very special people, until you've known there is no where to go to complain, and to stay is impossible yet to leave is risking your own future, you have no right to accuse somebody of merely milking the system. Being sexually harassed at work demeans everything you are. It makes you feel like the only worth you have is surface and pleasure, and your brain means nothing. I graduated at the top of my class. I am honorable. I worked my butt off doing what I did and loved it. I REALLY loved it! And my boss took it all away from me with his narscistic move. I'd pay a year's salary to erase it from my mind. But if he EVER came out in public and told me I overreacted, I'd come out with claws extended and words that would leave NOBODY any doubt what really took place.
From a perspective of who has the most to gain, seems like this was leaked from another candidate from the Republican field. I honestly feel President Obama has more to fear from Romney than Cain, so it makes little sense for his campaign to be involved with "leaking" this information.
Smells more like a page from Karl Rove's whispering campaigns playbook.
The story came from Politico, a right winged agency. The Repukes are afraid he'll get the nomination as they all know there is no way in hell he stands a chance at beating Obama. He's no more than a loud mouth pimp hat wearing idiot, who thinks China is just now developing Nukes, and I bet he can also see Russia from his back yard through his super binoculars in his pimp hat......
It needs to be said that the "RNC" (and DNC) is not an advocate for America, they are by Definition and Party centric institution...and it is not in their interest have have representative that is not owned or ownable...they have a three legged horse in the derby but he is their horse
"When you tell the truth you don't have to have a good memory."---Judge Judy
Only when you lie you have to remember what you lied about and then remember to tell the same lie when you are lying...or otherwise everyone would think you are a LIAR----Connie Says
lies, strawmen, red herrings, and flip-flopping are the core of the republican playbook. Their whole strategy is to turn one set of poor barely-making-it Americans against another, using fear, and scare tactics. This is completely predictable, and should never come as a surprise. After all, how can 1% of the country hope to win elections without creating desent within the 99% that are in the dumper? It's so obvious, they mas as well announce the lies before they tell them. The only people that belive them are the brainwashed drones from fox, and the actuall rich. It's amaizing what a Goebbel's style proaganda method can come back to bite us in the end. I hold no animosity for the right; the are in the same situation as the people in Jones cult that drank the poison. They've been completely seperated for true facts into a make believe world that we will eventaly have to deprogram them fromm. It's tragic, really. They should know better, but much like soldiers in the military, their personalities have beeh torn down and replaced by a laughable ideology. How we go about deprogramming them I don't know, but it will eventually have to be done.
Years ago, the company I work for held a mandatory sexual harassment class at work. Here is what we all learned from that class:
1. It doesn't matter if you intended something to be sexual in nature or not. It only matters that the "Victim" felt it was sexual in nature.
2. The "Victim" is required to tell you to stop doing it. If you don't stop, they can escalate it up the line. Please note she doesn't have to tell you once for every phrase said or action that offended.
3. Treating a woman like one of the guys is grounds for a SH suit.
4. Treating a woman NOT like one of the guys is grounds for a SH suit.
5. Curtailing conversations/interactions with a person to avoid further complaints is grounds for a harassment suit.
6. You can be totally non-sexual and you can not guarantee you will not be sued for sexual harassment. You have no real control over it. Only the "Victim" has control over it.
The employees were so shocked they could hardly speak to members of the opposite sex for days afterward. The company never held another class again. Even the HR manager was shocked at basically being told that there is nothing you can do to prevent a suit.
Is Cain guilty? I don't know. Did the woman lie just to get money? I don't know. Did she feel harassed and at the same time he had no intention of harassing her? I don't know but it sure is possible this is the case. I've worked with several people who were sued for SH. Some of them I knew were the kind of person who liked to make suggestive comments. Others I personally have trouble believing were guilty. One of the guys that was sued, I doubt would have known what to do if the girl had said yes. She got a nice payment to not go to court, he lost his job and frankly there is less of a chance that the sun will not rise tomorrow than the chance that he harassed the girl.
Complete incompetence for the job of President of the United Sates is Cain's problem. He's never had any job in government at all. Private business operates nothing like government - apples and oranges - as Cain would say. The guy didn't even know that China has nuclear weapons until last night. Iowa is embarrassing itself.
Mr. Cain is on a book selling tour, not running for President. All of this free publicity is helping him sell more books. Eventually he will pull a Ross Perot and get out of the race and go on a speaking tour.
You have to admit, he is a heck of a sales person.
Just like Newt, the "sage philosopher" of the Tbagger nation, cheated on his wife while proclaiming "outrage" at Clinton's behavior. McCain did the same thing when he was messing with the rich chick while his wife was in hospital.
And I love how he says he is a political novice....he briefly ran for president in 2000 and for the Senate in 2004, according to his bio. From Wikipedia:
Role in the defeat of the Clinton health care plan
Cain publicly opposed the Clinton health care plan of 1993. As president-elect of the National Restaurant Association, he challenged Bill Clinton on the costs of the employer mandate contained within the bill and criticized its effect on small businesses. Bob Cohn of Newsweek described Cain as one of the primary opponents of the plan:
The Clintons would later blame "Harry and Louise", the fictional couple in the ads aired by the insurance industry, for undermining health reform. But the real saboteurs are named Herman and John. Herman Cain is the president of Godfather's Pizza and president-elect of the National Restaurant Association. An articulate entrepreneur, Cain transformed the debate when he challenged Clinton at a town meeting in Kansas City, Missouri. Cain asked the president what he was supposed to say to the workers he would have to lay off because of the cost of the "employer mandate". Clinton responded that there would be plenty of subsidies for small businessmen, but Cain persisted. "Quite honestly, your calculation is inaccurate," he told the president. "In the competitive marketplace it simply doesn't work that way."[52]
Joshua Green of The Atlantic has called Cain's exchange with Clinton his "auspicious debut on the national political stage".[53]
Conservative politician and former Housing Secretary Jack Kemp was so impressed with Cain's performance that he chartered a plane to Nebraska to meet Cain after the debate. Cain credits Kemp with his becoming interested in politics.[54]
2005–2011 Americans for Prosperity
Starting in 2005, Cain worked for the Koch family funded Americans for Prosperity (AFP) alongside Mark Block. Block would later become campaign manager for Cain's 2012 Presidential run and would be joined in Cain's campaign by several other AFP employees. Cain continued to receive honorariums for speaking at AFP events until he announced his campaign for the Republican nomination.[55] Cain's senior economic advisor during his 2012 presidential campaign, Rich Lowrie, who helped devise Cain's 9-9-9 tax plan, had served on the AFP board. [56]
2006 Republican ad campaign
In 2006, Cain voiced several radio ads encouraging people of color to vote Republican; the ads were funded by a group called America's PAC and its founder J. Patrick Rooney. These ads were criticized for making use of racial stereotypes, such as one in which one black man refers to black women as "ho's". That ad also claimed that Democrats didn't care about black infants because they support legalized abortion. Another ad attempted to link Democrats to white supremacist David Duke, since Duke opposed the 2003 invasion of Iraq. The ads stirred controversy in the communities in which they ran. [57]
Cain briefly ran for the Republican presidential nomination in 2000; he says it was more about making political statements than winning the nomination. "George W. Bush was the chosen one, he had the campaign DNA that followers look for." However, Cain went on to state, "I believe that I had a better message and I believe that I was the better messenger."[59] After ending his own campaign, however, he endorsed Steve Forbes.[60]
In 2004, Cain ran for the U.S. Senate in Georgia and did not win in the primaries. He was pursuing the seat that came open with the retirement of DemocratZell Miller. Cain sought the Republican nomination, facing congressmen Johnny Isakson and Mac Collins in the primary. Cain and Collins both hoped to deny Isakson a majority on primary day in order to force him into a runoff.[citation needed] Collins tried to paint Cain as a moderate,[61] citing Cain's support for affirmative action programs, while Cain argued that he was a conservative, noting that he opposed the legality of abortion except when the mother's life is threatened.[62] Cain finished second in the primary with 26.2% of the vote, ahead of Collins, who won 20.6%, but because Isakson won 53.2% of the vote, Isakson was able to avoid a runoff.[63]
@some sanity - That's a good thing. You see what a mess we're in right now because we always have career politicians in office. We need things to be run more like a business. If something runs inefficiently, fix it or kill it: welfare, fannie, freddie, bailouts, subsidies, foreign aid, IRS, ATF, etc......
It is a good thing business operates different than our government or we would have been bankrupt years ago. Maybe it is about time we have someone there that is NOT a politician.
"Yea an Bill Clinton didn't know that getting a "blow Job or better put a Monica Lewinski" was sex!"
You brain dead teatards are a predictable bunch. Whenever a sex story about a Republican like this comes out you always make to the same two points. First you blame the “liberal media” and talk about how the “liberal media’ is out to get conservatives. Then you bring up Bill and Monica like that’s some kind of a justification. But this is the deal teatards --- this story was very, very likely leaked to the media by a Republican --- probably Karl Rove or perhaps Romney. Neither Bachmann nor Perry are smart enough to pull it off so I doubt either one of them leaked it. And – brining up Bill and Monica reminds me of my grandkids with the idea that two wrong make a right. Bill and Monica trading favors in the White House is NOT AN EXCUSE for Herman Cain or anyone else to play grab-ass with anyone they feel like.
BK2325, You do know who was the last MBA that held the office of President, don't you. that didn't end very well for us, did it. What with the financial collapse and all.
" He's never had any job in government at all. Private business operates nothing like government."
Just out of curiosity.......how many "Presents" equals "experience in government? How many "organizings" establish political "gravitas?"
On the other hand, being "present" in a number of private businesses, none of which was ever 15 trillion dollars in debt, exhibits a number of management skills, among others, that are necessary to run a large organization.
The bottom line secret is knowing who to surround yourself with when it comes to the various functions of that organization. I'm not necessarily a fan of Cain but I'm pretty sure that, if elected, he won't have an inner circle comprised of tax cheats, communists and political money men.
The biggest difference between Clinton's situation and Cain's is that Monica was a willing participant, whereas the two women who accused Cain obviously didn't appreciate his behavior. Of course, the biggest similarity is that both men lied, when all they really had to do was man up and admit they made mistakes.
Flowers, Gracen and Broddrick along with a very long list of others in relation to Bill dropping his pants for other women besides Hillary.
Then look at Hillary who can blame him..
The point being no one has actually come forward to accuse Cain of anything directly.
Just another Politico smear with the in the pocket media sources such is this one.
With that said I was NOT a Cain supporter his ties to the Federal reserve made me very leery of anything to do with the man.
Now I hope he goes all the way he most certainly can't do any worse than Obama there is only room for improvement at this point.
I understand the anyone but Bush crowd even better now because I belong to the anyone but Obama crowd.
Hermain Cain for President would be a vast improvement of someone with a proven track record of returning failing businesses from red to black on the ledgers.
Yea an Bill Clinton didn't know that getting a "blow Job or better put a Monica Lewinski" was sex!
I just want to be clear, here. When we discuss the problems with the economy tanking and the debt created by an unnecessary Iraq war, Dems need to stop "going to the past" and blaming W for something that happened in the previous term of President. But, when Herman Cain is accused of sexual harrassment, the first thing Repubs do is go back three terms to Clinton/Lewinski. Good to know y'all have your priorities and hypocrisy in order.
How many times have any of you made an innocent comment, that if someone wanted to twist it, could be turned into something offensive? People are full of crap - period. Do I know for sure he isn't wrong here? No. Do I believe that people will say disparaging things to either get ahead or get paid? Absolutely.
I keep flashing back to a manager I had at "an electronic's industry giant" who was put though career hell for telling an oportunist female that "her dress looked nice".....witnessed it, stood up for him...still caught sh*t and he was demoted and transferred.
We need to get some facts here....ya know...innocent til proven ...
is there ANY one out there that hasnt done anything wrong?
That's not the issue and you know it. The issue is Cain's changing of the story more than once. People do wrong all the time. It's how you handle it that's makes you who you are.
Exactly, NYMike. People keep comparing Cain to Clinton. Imagine what the outcome would have been if Clinton had just acted like a man, admitted what he did, and then told everyone that the matter was now a personal one between him and his wife? We might have saved millions in impeachment proceedings, for one. Instead, he lied. If Cain were all that smart, he'd have learned a lesson from Clinton.
Cain couldn't do any worse than we have now. Cain is another Racist running for Office. He's already stated that Planned Parenthood was placed in Minority Neighborhoods to reduce the number of Black Births. He has already stated that he is against Abortion for ANY REASON, including Rape, Incest and the health of the Mother. Whereas as O'Bama was elected because of his race, Cain has the same opportunity. O'Bama is the Democrats "Boy" and Cain's the Republican's "Boy".
Re: Sexual harassment -- As a liberal Democrat, I don't generally support Mr. Cain, but in this instance, he's getting a "raw deal". Most of us in large companies have had to go through "Sensitivity Training" which is intended to point out the various situations that fall under "sexual harassment". Anything that a man does that could make a woman uncomfortable is considered to be sexual harassment; a compliment on choice of clothing, a compliment on a new hair style, a repremand for (undocumented) poor performance, a disagreement over politics, a swear word. And while I can discuss almost anything with a man (in the workplace), I chose not to engage in any personal discussions with a woman (ie, the kids, the husband, the house, vacations).....and I find that sad. The rumor is that Mr. Cain made reference to a woman's height. As rediculous as that may sound, it definitely falls under the sexual harassment clause if it made her uncomfortable. But the first impression in the news is that he must have gropped her or done something sexually suggestive. But I haven't heard that.
But there is no evidence of liberal involvement in the disclosure of the sexual harassment allegations against Cain.
And there is no evidence that Cain did anything wrong, either. Whichever side is doing it, someone is paying one or both of these women big time to bring this up now. There is no coincidence here.
What do you mean 'there is no evidence?' Two women were paid settlements. That's because there was wrongdoing. Plain and simple.
Read the article. It says that one woman is upset because Cain is lying about the whole issue, which breaks the confidentiality deal with the NRA. She is now able to talk about it legally once her lawyers get her cleared of the agreement, which, again, Cain broke first.
Yes wrongdoing plain and simple but not necessarily by Mr. Cain if your brain can possibly comprehend that, since you seem to be acting as judge, jury and executioner. God forbid anyone ever say something to some one. No violence, no rape, probably not even any of the foul crap that I here from these rapper's rattling the window's out of my house everyday as car's go by. Just Incredible. Not very smart but incredible.
Wonder how much the Dems are going to pay this woman and others to smear Cain and tell more lies....Gee but it's OK that they had their "Star" President commit acts of adultry in the White House while serving as POTUS....gee thats ok.....now the world even has a name for that....."How would you like a Monica"....Monica is going to be the most hated name of all female names...all beacuse Bill Clinton got is freak on in the white house.....But of course he denied this to the bitter end even so much so as to act as though he did not even know what sex was.wow the dems are a bunch of twofaced lying HORES!!!!!!!!
Cause it is the Dems and the liberal TV that is bringing this up...all the while they would never bring up the fact that Obama got his start in politics with a known American terrorist, Bill Ayres and that he is chummy chummy with George Soros...you know that guy who wants to get rid of borders and have a one world rule...yea that guy...I think that is much more important than something Can may have said to some woman 15 years ago!
beanne, if you had an once of common sense, instead of being a political hack, you'd realize that the Dems have nothing to gain here. I'm sure they'd love for Cain to be the nominee. And, if they were responsible for these allegations, which I seriously doubt, why not wait to see if he is the nominee so they could totally discredit him?
Do you understand the concept of critical thought?
Politico (which is really another branch of the GOP these days), FOX News, etc. are now part of the "liberal TV"? They have kept this story alive just as much or more than the actual "liberal TV/Cable/web".
@beanne; did you even read this story before posting? Zero evidence, here or elsewhere, of Democratic / liberal / whoever else is on Glenn Beck's chalkboard of doom involvement. This is actually a pretty open secret that normal vetting of any candidate would expose. Now what Mr. Cain has to be concerned about is, is what else is out there? It always shocks me (but it shouldn't) what politicians of any party have gotten themselves into in the past, yet managed to easily move forward in their careers.
No Mike, these idiots have no understanding of critical thought.
They still believe in "trickle down" economics, that tax-breaks to the very, very rich will result in creating jobs and that somehow getting rid of "minimum wage" laws would solve the unemployment problem.
They believe things like Obama is not an American citizen, that Jeremiah Wright " calls every move Obama makes" and that he's a "Secret Mooslim".
They believe the 9-9-9 tax plan doesn't raise taxes on the poor, that Saddam Hussien was involved in planning the attacks on the world trade center, that corporation don't need regulations because they really do have Americans best interests at heart.
They believe that Fox News is an unbiased truth machine, that global warming is a liberal conspiracy and that the earth, stars and universe are only 6 thousand years old.
Also Mike, they believe that you, me and every other critically thinking person is a socialist, communist, fascist, flag hating, American hating, troop hating, Christian hating, godless, LIBERAL who's goal is to destroy America because we hate freedom and support terrorism and of course they also truly believe ........ that they are the only "true Americans".
This is what makes up the controlling interests of the current Republican party.
This is why the educated and informed need to not only vote for Obama and get organized to make sure that the Democrats win a majority in both the House and the Senate.
NOT BECAUSE THE DEMS ARE OUR SAVIORS, but because these are the beliefs of the current Republican party. They are ignorant, uninformed, intolorent, hypocrite, lying FOLLOWERS who are just too damn stupid to realize how stupid they are.
They are dangerous and they are BAD FOR AMERICA and for those that live here.
If you love America.... VOTE STRAIGHT DEMOCRATIC PARTY LINE in 2012 and stop these idiots from trying yo block all progress in America.
you sound brain washed...whats next radical islam.
why should i pay more money when i cant get any support for me and my family. YOU DEMS want more of my hard earned income, then give it away to other people, meanwhile i dont get any help from govt. my tax dollars go to illegals, and welfare (which we cant even make pass a drug test cuz its not fair, even though even one who actually works for the govt has to), lazy fat unemployed people who wont work cuz their holding our for management...
are you going to pay my kids college, well i can barely make ends meet with all the money taken from me for everyone else....i am F***** sick and tired of it. Raise taxes on those that work hard and reap the rewards of their own labor, and take their money and give it to the dregs of society.
GOP ALL THE WAY...i'm sick of paying taxes to support everyone else and sick of the dems spending money that we dont have. and sick of illegals getting anything but a bus ride out
Bubba-EXCELLENT POST!! Probably the best explanation of the Republican thought process that I have seen. No wonder T2CT got all discombobulated in his response! Poor GOP, pleas bring us another flavor of the week (like Bachmaniac, Eye of Newt, Sanitarium, etc.), so we can get excited for another week.
Herman Cain is a shill planted by Karl Rove and his cronies to keep Romney in the background, while they bring up all the crazies to their constituents, who are DESPERATE for ANYONE, which is obvious by the fact that every new face immediately jumps to the front of the pack. First it was Bachmann, who became an instant Republican star overnight, until she showed how whacked out she really is, and now it's more like Michelle Who? Then Good Ole Boy Ricky Perry comes into town, becomes instant Republican star, and after everyone finds out things aren't so good down in Teaxs, he goes down in flames too. Now it's Herman's turn in the spotlight. The found the perfect stooge, and he's black too!! Unfortunately, he has already gotten caught with his pants down, so Karl decided it's about time to dump Herman, so they got POLITICO ( you know, that liberal rag........oh it's run by Repub/Conservs......never mind) to do their dirty work for them. Once he is out of the picture, they will parade a new victim though the media, all the time, Ole Mitt is sitting back saying "Damn, that Karl is actually pretty smart, I didn't think this would work". Fortunately, there are a lot of people who can see through this ploy, and it looks like it is backfiring on them and dragging their party down the drain.
BUT, mark my words, they will bring out another potential contender, who will blow up too. Mitt doesn't look half bad if you compare him to all the crazies they have to run against him!
Isn't this amazing that conservatives think this is the type of leader they want as president. He is a joke, a bad joke. And, it not just about this incident. The pizza guy? really? And, it not even good pizza. Herman Cain has no class.
I don't think this man can deliver anything but a pizza, so forget about a state of the union address address.
Beanne you haven't been paying attention. Obama is not responsible for 7 trillion... look to Bush and Cheney and see how totally indebted they drove this country (and all of the American lives lost for a LIE or was it oil?)...
off track a bit, but on obama, not to mention that chagas is coming to the southern states, brought in by the "kissing bug" and illegals...Obama wont enforce the immigration laws on the books, and states trying to protect heir citizens are being attacked by the federal government. Diseases are popping up everywhere and now Alabama has to let students go to school without proof of citizenship...so falsified records including medical and vaccinations and our children are at risk for diseases, CHAGAS is no laughing matter it is serious, and its spewing forth out of mexico
why did my kids have to have perfect and verifiable shot records and proof of residency to attend school but illegals can do what ever...and obama is great...please just FOAD
beanne is talking out of his *^$, just an Obama hater who really can't give specifics so he just lets it roll out,,,sort of like Cain does in making it up as he goes along.
And which President allowed the derivatives to cause all this economic damage world-wide?
Watch "Frontline's, The Warning". See what happened to Brooksley Born, when she said that derivatives, as they were being used (unregulated), could easily cause this financial mess that we are in.
Beanne you haven't been paying attention. Obama is not responsible for 7 trillion... look to Bush and Cheney and see how totally indebted they drove this country (and all of the American lives lost for a LIE or was it oil?)...
You are the one not paying attention.
The past three years have had record deficit spending of about $4.2 TRILLION. To simplify it for you - Obama and Congress spent more than we took in these past three years by about 2 years of revenue. He and Congress are spending about 60% more each year than we take in.
The last two years of Bush were under a Democratic Congress, which brings the deficit total to about $7 TRILLION.
We might note that the Democratic Congress has not been able to pass a budget the past few years, even when they clearly had the majority in both houses.
And ALL PROMINENT DEMOCRATS agreed with Bush on going into Iraq at the time and Congressional Democrats consistently voted to continue funding.
derivatives occured under Clinton. The bus left the road and was heading for the cliff under Bush and Darth Cheney... The Democrats WERE LIED TO on Iraq as was the rest of the country... geez us!
Talk about blowin' in the wind! This guy, Cain, shows the Tpubs are desperate for somebody, anybody to challenge the flip/flopper Romney, vetting is not needed, honesty is not needed, brains are not needed. The Repubs are in serious trouble, this time...........Obama/Biden 2012, a sure bet.
YAP!! YAP!!! YAP!! Go ahead Teatards... YOUR GOING NOWHERE!!! The best your gonna get out of the bunch of fools you have running for pres IS AN IVY LEAGUE MORMON RINO FROM THE NORTH EAST!!!
There will be NO TEXAS TEATARDS, NO CROSS EYED MIDWESTERN RELIGIOUS ZEALOTS, NO UNCLE RUCKUS AKA HERMAN ASS GRABIN CAIN IN THE WHITE HOUSE!! Got that??? Can you get it through your hillbilly brains that the best your gonna get is a RINO!!!???
So BRUSH UP ON YOUR MORMON!!! As far as Obama... OBAMA WILL TRASH ROMNEY IN A DEBATE.... Romney will flip flop his way through each and every debate and OBAMA will CRUSH HIM!!! Period....
So all you back woods bubbas need to get a life.... The best your gonna get is an Ivy League Mormon Rino.... Your Teatarded agrarian way of thinking NO LONGER APPLIES IN THE 21ST CENTURY.....
Dr. Larry, keep dreaming. Obama leads all the candidates in the latest polls.
As for their speaking loud in the 2010 election, if the election were redone, the Republicans would lose big in Florida, Ohio, Michigan, and Wisconsin plus many Republican idiots in the house would not have been elected. The 2010 election was nothing more than a correction of Republicans losing seats in Republican districts because of the Bush administration. It may change back to Democrat in 2012 after the mess the Republicans have caused.
Please people, we don't know the circumstances, and now we don't know what the heck happened. She said, He said. In this country a woman can say she was harrassed if a guy looks at her funny. She can say she was sexually harrassed if the guy sends her flowers without her saying she wanted them. I know I saw it happen. This whole thing is a smear campaign because the power brokers on the Hill don't want this guy going against either establishment party.
He is a true outsider and thats what makes him dangerous.
Oh, BTW, this lawyer just broke the law by coming out and saying his client was very upset and broke the confidentiality clause in her agreement. He is bound by the same contract. Maybe we need to look into his past? Ambulance chaser? ADA lawyer?
OID... Cain has done this to himself. He needed to own it, address it and move past it. Given the current economic climate in this country WE the people have not patience and will suffer NO fool who cannot stay true to his vows.
What does Obama have to do with a sexual harassment article about Herman Cain? If your only defense for him is to deflect to the President and bring up GE as well as Chicago and Goldman Sachs, then you don't have a defense, do you? You bring up four completly irrelevant things that are not about this discussion without mentioning Hermain Cain once.
Then you go on to call someone stupid when you post things that have absolutely nothing to do with the article.
@NYMike: don't you know? If one of your neighbor's lawn sprinkler heads is leaking ... Obama's fault. If your 3rd cousin's dog spilled his water dish 6 years ago .... Obama's fault. If a tree falls in the forest and Rush isn't there to hear it, it's still ... Obama's fault. I think I'm beginning to sense a pattern here with the far right.
Some of the posters here are no better than a lynch mob! Not one person here has any facts to what did or did not happen back then, but they have already convicted Cain and want him hung up to dry! Why don't you sit back, take a breath and wait to see what becomes of this and see if any details come out before you convict someone?
NO ROBERT, the Dems haven't been convinced of his guilt. We understand that these are real allegations made by at least 2 separeate women many years ago when Hermain Cain was not yet running for office and would like the truth to come out.
You conservatives aren't waiting for the truth to come out, YOU'VE ALREADY DECIDED HE'S INNOCENT AND THOSE WOMEN WERE LYING.
I wonder how the women in your life feel knowing that when a woman says she's been victimized that your concern is in blindly defending the alleged perpetrator instead of demanding investigation to find out what's true.
I often wonder how people like you sleep at night.
I didn't say he was innocent, so quit putting words in my mouth! I just won't convict anyone without proof! show me the proof first. I have seen someone accused of sexual harrassment because they mentioned that a dress a woman was wearing looked nice! So far the only thing I have seen mentioned in this is something was said that made the woman feel uncomfortable! Me?, I'm an eye freak, and if I see a woman with beautiful eyes I will say so. Doesn't mean I want to grab her and drag her into bed. I will not swear in front of women because I consider all women ladies until they prove differently. I also believe if a woman can do the same work as a man she should be paid the same.
I know enough to hear him call these two women accusations frivolousness, baseless, dumb and false, so much so he can't remember it.
Why the hello are you so close to a woman, that she can feel your diicck get hard and you stand there claiming she is the size of your wife. "LAW SUIT UP!!!""
Well if you Teapublicans want the truth, tell Kochcain to release the 2 women from their clause that they cannot speak about it! It's that simple, then we would get at the TRUTH! He is guilty or he wouldn't be lying and hiding it. You righties are so transparent! Obama 2012...HAHAHAHAHA, GotCHA!
Cain made NO agreement or settlement with these women who made claims that have not been substantiated. He is not a party to whatever contract they apparently signed - he cannot abrogate someone else's contract (like some liberals want to do).
Unless you were involved, you should shut up and listen. None of us know the facts.
Goodbye Mr. Cain. Another predator who failed to understand that the American people will not tolerate another womanizer/liar (I did NOT have sexual relations with that woman) in their house... goodbye and don't let the door hit you in the a$$ on the way out... LOL
Gee than why does the Dems still think Clinton is the greatest thing......perhaps it is only ok if a Dem actually commits adultry in the white house but it's a bad bad thing to have false alligations brought up from 15 years ago...what a bunch of hypocrites.
Here is a list of the usurper's supporters calling kettle black,
PARTIAL LIST OF DOCUMENTS BEING CONCEALED BY OBAMA LAWYERS
Why Is This Idea Important?: A President who uses high-paid lawyers to hide his past and intimidate citizens can never gain the trust of the American people

Must be some sort of genetic defect of the obomots that always makes them resort to name calling rather than thinking and really investigating the truth. Hard to make the racist claim when someone supports Cain instead of the usurper. Oh, please don't ever lump me together with that bad haired bankruptcy specialist Trump.
LOL, "counterfeit" versions. So it's OK for you to believe whatever you want to about Obama, and to make completely baseless accusations without providing actual evidence, but you get bent out of shape when someone does the same to Cain?
Prove your claims of counterfeiting, and I'll believe Cain was wrongfully accused.
WOW, where did steve66x and ttard866623 get that super-secret list? It wasn't supposed to get out OH NO!! what will we do now that the "big secret" is out???
Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha-that is about the stupidest thing I have ever seen someone post. Boy, I'll bet President Obama was really, really trying to hide those, and now you've gone and exposed him. And watch out for that counterfeit birth certificate- I think he did it on Photoshop! Hey, these 2 posters are experts at this stuff and they can tell what's real.
The poor Republicans are so desperate for someone...anyone to come to their rescue, that they jump on the first poor schmuck that comes along and next week he is their front runner.
By the way, don't try to take credit for your cute word "obomots", cause my 3 year old already thought of it!!
More name calling, sad. Anything to avoid dealing with the allegations and charges. Just a quick FYI I am a registered Dem.who has even run for local office in my heavily Rep. community and just barely lost both times because I wasn't willing to change my party just to get elected. Truth is truth and it will set you free, the guy in the White House is simply ineligible and history will show I'm right. However, by that time the US as we know it as a constitutional republic will be toast. Kudos to your 3 yr. old, at least until he is polluted by your poor thinking skills.
If your gal Hillary couldn't prove any of those accusations, neither can you, because there IS no proof, ttard. I wonder just what kind of Democrat you really are.....I became a GDI (in 1969 after working as a student coordinator for a Democratic candidate for the OH 5th in 1968) because I don't trust either party or any of the politicians associated with them.
The more Obama uses his bottomless pit of money to pull this kind of BS the more certain I am of his fate. Obviously Cain has thrown a spanner in the works.
I say it's Perry. Did you see him in NH? Romney can speak well and has clear ideas. Cain has creepy ads, miserable plans and sees electrocution as an option. Perry speaks worse than Bush and acts like a child when debating.
This is not the work of Democrats. Perry is at a desperate point in this election cycle. He can't stand on his own merits and it seems within his character to pull something like this. If he can take out the front runner, that will only leave one more in is way.
It does seem odd that just right after some high profile people come on board with him that this got brought up.
It always cracks me up how people who love the right say that the Dems are scared of their candidates. LOL. It always gives me a grin, especially as the inference is that their candidates might actually win. Too funny! There isn't a presidential one in the lot of them.
The really funny thing is that he thinks this is coming from the liberals. This has Texas conservative politics written all over it. Now which candidate seems to have studied the George Bush dirty politics handbook cover to cover? The sad thing is that he thinks the bump in donations is a good thing. This bump in funding is nothing but the last ditch effort that inevitably precedes the demise of a candidate.
Look up and see how Obama won his first office by letting out that his opponent wanted his wife to go to a sex party with him! This was I believe his name was Jack Ryan and his wife was Jeri Ryan of Star Trek fame. What did that have to do with anything concerning running for office? Obama has never ran a clean compaign!
Master @ dirty games Mr. Karl Rove & Mr. Cowboys no hold barred Gov. Rick Perry. Don't mess with Texans. You'll get a ugly Texas treatment out in the wood or desert. Unless you get a thick skin.
What kind of President would this Pizza King make: He cannot remember agreements he made 12 years ago? Has he forgotten where he invested his money?
Perhaps he has Alzheimer's? Cannot remember what to do in case of war. Another scum like the Clarance Thomas, cry foul about the poor black when it comes close.

OH PLEASE!WHILE you're at it lets vett the potus who has yet to be vetted! How about Larry SinClair and all the other homosexuals???? BIASED MEDIA and their damned lies will lose.
Doesn't "GOP" stand for "Greedy Old Pervert"? We can't really expect fidelity and honor from a fundamentalist Christian Tea Party Republican multi-millionaire, can we? To be part of that little club practically requires being a sociopath.
to me, its not a matter that the guy has skeletons ( we all do) its how you handle it... if he came out and said...ya know, i messed up, said a few inappropriate things...slapped an azz or two....we handled it and its done....it would have been over and done...but he chose the lie and deny path...this tells me more about Mr. Cain's character then the actual incident
He's just another Ensign, Weiner, etc. when it comes to lying about his sexual escapades. Let's see, who was that governor in the south who said he was hike the Appalachian Trail? Vitter another liar who still sits in the Senate. He should have been thrown out by the Senate for his sexual escapades or forced to resign just like Ensign.
This clown is toast! Too bad, cause it will mean that Perry rears his silly head again as it is the ultraconservatives who make the most noise this early in the Republican party. Perry is a true slimeball politician who will say or do anything (including throw Cain under the bus).
So whats the big deal,if their lips r moving ,their lying! Clinton,"I did not have sexual relations w/ that woman",& the list goes on .$ Money, and woman the root of all evil. Nothing new!!! Adios Cain!!!!
Cain paid his debt on this. Part of that debt was the silence on the part of the accuser. Apparently she found a lawyer who goes lower than Whale S--T (go figure)to help her voice her opinions. If you were paid a settlement and part of that settlement was to be silent on the issue how can she now come forward? These type of people make me wonder if there was any truth to it in the first place.
Listen, Cain made the first move denying everything after the Perry operatives exposed him. Now when a man calls you a liar don't you have the right to tell the facts? He violated the agreement first and cannot stand behind it now.
Cain was apparently not a party to whatever agreement was made.
If you think all claims of harassment and settlements are justified, I have some nice land in South Florida and a bridge in Brooklyn you might want to invest in.
BTW - if one or both of these women got severance pay - that is not a settlement of any claim.
Hell Larry, where i come from we know that the words are only part of the story. Things are what they are, not what some smarmy lawyer decides to call them - don't get wrapped up by lawyers and politicians. Word.
How about that fraudulent birth certificate released by the WHITEHOUSE! YES, THE POLITICALLY CORRECT use of the word AFRICA for race. Back in 1961, and it's a historical pdf requiring the use of NEGRO, not AFRICAN! 1.CV.pdf page 231 Section Race&Color Section 5 white, negro, american indian, chinese, japanese, aleut, eskimo, hawaiian, part hawaiian(combined),and other non-white Legally whomever filled out the birth certificate would have been REQUIRED to use this medical terminology.
Youre an idiot. Im from the us of a. Im in canada and its strange that you think in that manner. Did you know that if you were sick and dying and if your insurance company dumped your party would GLADLY let you die? so you keep holding on to those idiotic values that you hold dear to your stupid ignorant heart and see how many of your peers would care if you fell in the streets and died. just food for thought. OH canada all are covered with health care...but thats bad right? sometimes its better to be thought a fool than open your mouth and remove all doubt.
You're the fool, nothing good can come from Godfathers Pizza. the crust is too thick as well as the cheese. Also Godfather has a negative connotation, "Godfathers ar crimnals didnt you watch the movie. Peace Love and Happiness to all.
"How about that fraudulent birth certificate released by the WHITEHOUSE! "
Hey Nancy and all you teatards, biethers, religious fanatics, flat earthers, mindless dittoheads, Fox noise cultist and all around anti American Republicans, get used to President Obama because he's not leaving office until January 2017. And if your teapublicans filed a similar collection of worthless candidates such as Slick Rick Perry, ass grabin Pizza Man Cain, Flip-flop Romney, washed up has been never was Newt and insane whacko Bachmann for 2016 like you have for 2012, a Democrat will win that time around too.
More than the term used for his father's race is bad on that supposed BC. It lists his father from Kenya and yet Kenya did not exist in 1961 and didn't until 1963 when it became independent from Britain. At the time of Obama's birth, it was the British colony of East Africa. Also the hospital that was listed did not exist until 1978 When two hospitals were combined to form the so called listed hospital. Then there is the issue of the registrar listed was not the same as written on other BC of children born in Honolulu at that time, and there is only one registrar per county! Then there is the flawed notary stamp that was used. Too many falws on that BC! Feel free to research all this yourselves if you dare look at the truth!
Obama has spent multi millions hiding his past. He has paid to keep documents secret. And remember the "vacation" Rahm Emanuel suddenly took in Kenya right after Obama was elected? I wonder why the media goes to great strides keeping this admin's questionable facts hidden, yet will go to great lengths to disparage Cain
all you teatards, biethers, religious fanatics, flat earthers, mindless dittoheads
Unfortunately, the media has been summoned to paint a saintly picture of this administration, not printing anything about Obama's past, as he paid to have his hidden. If you haven't noticed, the Mainstream Media seems to be controlled by the government, with political articles parallelling White House wishes. Try searching other sources, read some books that give more facts about this administration.
Poor Cain will be the target of the media, as he is a threat to Obama. They will do everything possible to smear his campaign.
after all the media coverage on obamas birth certificate and the incredible amount of money trump spent to "find the truth" you STILL believe there is a conspiracy...??? as for Mr. Cain....this "smear campaign" has already been linked to the GOP....(pssst...look towards the perry camp)
my suggestion to you is....take your own advice....!!! "Try searching other sources, read some books that give more facts"
What the bigots on the Right are saying about President Obama paying lawyers to hide who his true identity is and faking his birth certificate is just as crazy, ridiculous and absurd as “Their Herman” trying to talk his way out of the LIES he’s blatantly told. I had to have a TOP SECRET clearance to just work on certain military aircraft. I’ve been interviewed at my office and my home by Special Agents from the FBI just because a coworker, somewhat friend that worked in a totally different building got a promotion to the Department of Justice as a Clerk II. That’s it! Clerk II! These people are either very, very ignorant or so hateful they have lost their minds.

You really don't understand how getting and maintaining a security clearance works, do you? Background checks are common and required at various times - including change of job function. Nearly everyone in my office has a clearance.
Read the NISPOM. You should already know this.
BTW - the President does not have to pass any checks to gain access to classified information. Period. Too bad.
i think what guitfiddle is referring to is: if president Obama was not a natural born citizen, the forces that be would have no problem finding it and exposing it
You mean he would be a worse negotiatior than the Antichrist in the White House now? Very very doubtful, wasn't the Messiah going to dazzle them with his personality? He was, I believe, going to negotiate with Iran without any prior conditions. ROFLMAO
For all the people that make the claim that it was ok for Clinton so it should be ok for Cain, will you now take back all the hateful things you said about both Clintons and finally give them their props.
1 years salary to go away and leave a good job isn't much. if they were fired for poor work performance, why did they wait until after the allegations. Also, at least one of the allegations were witnessed by a group. Cain was given 10 days to formalize a plan prior to the information going out. Dening it happened, then dening settlement then accusing the accuser of being a poor perfomer, to me is a terrible plan and one that would inspire the accuser to come forward and give more information then apparently Mr. Cain will.
A Lawyer calling a Politician a liar
(I'm not sure how that happened)...doesn't that mean an Angel just got fed in a wood chipper...
Yes we know he is lying, and we also know she is lying
Isn't it rich?
They smell more money.
Finished, whew
Why "fishy", if anything it gives credence. 1 or 30 would be fishy.
Well, unless Cain can do some seriously quick splainen, he won't win any primaries anywhere.
@richard
Fishy because Cain had been around for 20 years prior, and 20 since...normally you would be able to follow his trail...this isn't an instinct that just goes away
@Brian
@brian

@ paul
I agree...In his defence, if he turns out to be defensible, its unlikely he's ever been on a stage this size, with this much media attention...It's referred to as the "Deer in the Headlights Syndrome"(I just made that up)...where even a basically honest person can begin panic lying
Kinda like Bill Clinton right?
WOW! Is anybody surprised that he admires justice Clarance Thomas? They both are the same: SCUM
Only the Republicans!

spoken like a true democrat and socialist...two great AA men who accomplich great things and they are attacked and torn down because they defy the stero type....its just sickening
The truth is the truth.
xray...i thought that too, but its only AFTER Cain passed up Romney that this popped up...
Obama 2012
Janet..."Kinda like Bill Clinton right?" Is it like Clinton? All Clinton had to do was tell the truth. The liberal media and Democrats would have given him a free pass. Most everyone else would have said, "OK, he admitted he did it and it was a mistake, let's move on." Clinton was not smart enough to see the blatantly obvious. Perhaps neither is Cain.
A teabagger complaining about unfair treatment. :D
Is it Clarence Thomas II?
When is the media going to start talking about Cain's connections to the Koch brothers?
"Jeff", you're right, this guy is joined at the hip in terms of Koch Brother connections, I'm not sure they want him as nominee, but he makes an excellent token in their minds and apparently Ann Coulter agrees:
"Our blacks are so much better than their blacks," she said, speaking of Democrats. "To become a black Republican, you don't just roll into it. You're not going with the flow...and that's why we have very impressive blacks in the Republican party."
Wow, this woman is an idiot...
"Wave of Grain"
errr..........the Democrats would actually LOVE to see Cain win primaries against other Republicans...........It is the Republicans that have much more to win by eating their own before the primaries so other contenders can win..............Your logic in blaming Democrats shows that you probably also are one of the posters that always blames Obama for everything you consider "wrong"
Toast.
@LMarcT
Dear Jane;
Pot: "Black."
Kettle: "Huh?"
---
Debbie is so typical of todays republican woman...low informaiton but shrill
People, calm down. What Cain said was that he was aware of a framework for an outline for a summary of an agreement - not a settlement. Big difference. Once he figures out which of the women he is referring to, he will give clearer lies. So, relax.
Mr. Pheaniques
Years ago he used to give all his female staffers a quarter each day for coffee, the only thing is they had to reach into his pocket to get it! lol
@Mr. phea
Asked if his client believed Cain was not telling the truth, Bennett told CNN: "Yes."
Bennett is the lawyer the victim is the client. Not calling him a liar but the meaning is the same.
The Republican candidates get slimmer by the moment..
The liberal candidates aren't anything to speak of,
What does an American do.
I
Saxon - It's hard to compare the United States to Rome, but there are certainly some similarities, and your post definitely hits the mark on some of the issues facing our government today.
Like how the left wing found Obyema/Byeden?
The Republican race has turned into The Wizard of Oz. Rick Perry wants a brain. Mitt Romney wants a heart. And any number of candidates are Dorothy, realizing there is no place like home and they should have stayed there.
Herman Cain is seeking courage. He needs the courage to face the fact he is never going to be the Republican nominee, no matter how well he does in the polls. He needs the courage to settle for something far better than the presidency: His own show on Fox.
W,
If you don't like the politics of Biden and Obama, that's fine. But no one can make the argument that they are stupid.
Reagan, Bush Jr. (senior was pretty bright), Quayle, Palin, and every current candidate with the exception of Ron Paul and Huntsman are just plain dumb.
Just dumb.
Gravy B
Gravy,
Kind of a stretch, wouldn't you say?
I didn't know Clinton was running for President.
@ W
@ Kyle
Probably because I'm a nobody and nobody else give a sh!t about what I do/did unless I announce I'm running for a public office.
Larry - you're a funny guy
All they found against Clinton was his "innaccurate account" of a sworn statement. You mean PERJURY?
"All others were accusations" - What do you call this stuff about Cain?
And Clinton was the Attorney General of Arkansas when he raped Juanita Broadrrick. But it was just an accusation and no need to fully investigate something as petty as that about such an important man. Right?
Kyle - so you heard that about Larry too? Must be true. No need for an investigation.
Hey, I'm a voter and I would rather find out sooner, than later, if this guy is a liar.
Also, I noticed he blinks a lot and has trouble keeping steady eye-contact. That's considered a "tell".
His responses seem shady, plain and simple.
@ JH
Zorroaca44,
If telling Blacks they don't need the Government to provide for them, that they can achieve everything they want and dream of if they work hard, if that makes him a gimmick, I feel bad for the black community.
@ LogicReguired
Me thinks someone should change their user name because there is no logic in your statement.
Dr.Boyce Watkins - Professor at Syracuse University - Black Speaker of the Year
I believe Cain is what was referred in Mark Twain's book as an Uncle Tom.
OR ... A GOP House Negro .............
LogicReguired
"Cain has given thanks and respect to those who paved the way" WRONG ... show where!!!!!!!!!
"Cain has given thanks and respect to those who paved the way, but he thinks now blacks need to stand up and take advantage of the opportunities these folks have given them" .... Explain "these folks"
Sometimes bigotry hides in funny places of the mind!!!
Larry
I can only hope.
btone
"dumb".
JH-479998 ... listen to yourself "It's been fun chatting with you but it is obvious that you are stuck in your views"
Then you say "there is no way I could ever switch to your views"
Pretty well stuck huh .... GOP rhetoric .........
LogicReguired ... the simple fact of bringing up Clinton in this matter is real DUMB!!!
Logic,
Does that mean you think they are dumb?
It doesn't matter. You've been most civil. Have a great day.
If he's innocent, why won't he just release the documents? I know he harassed that woman, he's so arrogant he thought he was doing her a favor.
Zorro - typical left tactic. What's the matter, you don't know how to use a persons FULL statement? LEFT WING RHETORIC, The truth, the half truth and nothing but the half truth.
@ Zorroaca44
Since I went for a bite to eat you beat me to it.
@ Logic
This is so far to the right you're about to fall off the edge. The so called liberal media is a myth that those like you try to pass on to the people when in fact the media is owned and controlled by Conservatives. Why else is it that every time I turn on the news there's a Republican bashing Obama? Where were they when Bush used false intelligence to invade Iraq. They were told the intelligence were false but chose to keep quiet.
@JH
@ Zorroaca:
I agree with some of your comments. Since I consider you a brave person, by placing a title in one of these posts, I would like to ask you what it is that you mean by this:
Herman Cain is ducking and hiding from doing the right thing today.
Thanks
From what I read on Logic's comment "these folks" are MLK, Rosa Parks, etc etc. No bigotry there, ya'll and your "uncle tom" comments though that's another story.
Larry
@ JH
Hmm. ; ]
Cheers
Herman Cain .. A product of affirmative action that he now views as liberal communism .. He would be delivering Pizza .. if not for the social programs he is now firmly against .. his sexual morality .. is of no importance to the Tea Party.. all they care about is his willingness to impose the TP social agenda on the rest of America .. if he is successful or a failure .. makes no differance to the TP because when they have no more use for his low class wit ..he will be thrown under the bus and put back in his place.
Hmm. ; ]
Cheers
Except when you're married - then you get complaints either way.
1SGFitzsWife4ID you make a lot of sense!!! But I will quote the post of "independent jim ... Herman Cain .. A product of affirmative action that he now views as liberal communism .. He would be delivering Pizza .. if not for the social programs he is now firmly against ...
AND that's a fact ...
Cain, I just find it wrong to call him an "Uncle Tom" just because he's a conservative.
we're just weeding out the idiots until people realize Ron Paul is the only choice.
Huntsman/Paul 2012
After spending the money these women want to break the agreement.
Says enough about their character
Umm...old fat guy...it was the restaurant association who spent the money (to cover Herman Cain's a$$), and now he has broken the confidentiality agreement by speaking about it. What does that say about HIS character?
Larry
Mr.PheaNiques-0000001 actually it's his client, the original complainant who Cain has essentially called a liar.
It's still important to keep your facts straight even when it's more fun not to do so.
Half truth Zorro - I wasn't talking to you. You are kind off a sicko.
Skip - post 1.45.
Hey flbikerchick, you sound like a real hottie! Wanna trade message's?
Uhhh Debbie, BOTH sides have to sign a confidentiality agreement or it's invalid.
That was 20 years ago, in today's dollars it would be close to 70k.
You seem to have that backwards: She wants to do away with the confidentiality agreement so she can actually make the accusations. Though it's a sad testament to our "justice" system, $35K worth of hush money certainly saved Cain from having to pay a much larger sum when found guilty.
You are not serious are you?
IMO, trying to sweep things under the rug, only makes the carpet look like it was poorly laid.
let me guess Sandie, obama lover
Obama 2012!
Time2ChangeThings,
What in the world does the president have to do with this?
Sandie....LOVE the rug analogy! LMAO!
Liars...nope...We're NOT afraid of Cain..(race card?!?) GTFOH!!!!
Obama 2012
I've never seen so much desperation and bullshiit coming from the leftards.
My money is Romney or Perry when the dust settles.
Oh, before some fool says I played the race card, you bet I did. Right after you guys did.
@Debbie-565069,
IT LEAKED FROM THE GODD DAMM REBULICANS. "You know him, Karl Rove"
Needle brain Debbie. So in your eyes a small settlement is an amount that states a woman is lying? WOW. You and ignorant CoCaine deserve each other. "Swatttt fly on the wall!!!!"
@theCavalier, RIGHT ON!!!!!
We already know who it was. It was the Perry campaign.
You do understand the confidentiality agreement is meant to protect Cain, right? No, I guess you don't. If the woman wanted to "hide," she wouldn't have made the claim in the first place.
The republican tea: Destroying reading skills with every sip!
DanG,
Your joking, right?? You said:
I respect this woman's restraint.
Right on, WoodieRae. No one who has not had your experience can even begin to speculate what is involved.
It's a bit cliche' but, "You go, girl".
Go Herman!!!!
@Ourdoc
He learned the flip-flop from Romney.
lies, strawmen, red herrings, and flip-flopping are the core of the republican playbook.
@Again RIGHT ON!!!!!
@ theCavalier
As it has been said, you can't fix stupid.
Oops. Sorry. I meant to post my previous message in the thread above.
Complete incompetence for the job of President of the United Sates is Cain's problem. He's never had any job in government at all. Private business operates nothing like government - apples and oranges - as Cain would say. The guy didn't even know that China has nuclear weapons until last night. Iowa is embarrassing itself.
Yea an Bill Clinton didn't know that getting a "blow Job or better put a Monica Lewinski" was sex!
"I did not have sexual harassment relations with that woman."
Well put, Charlie.
BK2325, You do know who was the last MBA that held the office of President, don't you. that didn't end very well for us, did it. What with the financial collapse and all.
My how things have changed. It used to be people would complain about "career politicians." Now, it seems to be a badge of honor.
Hillary, obviously didn't have a problem with Bill & Monica so why should we.
Benr:
Say what you will about Hillary, but she's got bigger balls than most guys (either liberal or conservative).
nothing at the end --
To steal a quote from Betty White:
"Why do people say, grow a pair of balls? Balls are weak and sensitive. If you want to be tough, grow a vagina....now those can take a pounding!"
I just choked on my coffee lmfao thanks for the laugh Carianne!
Geeze! Don't people realize that there isn't a conservative out there that has EVER done anything wrong?
is there ANY one out there that hasnt done anything wrong?
How many times have any of you made an innocent comment, that if someone wanted to twist it, could be turned into something offensive? People are full of crap - period. Do I know for sure he isn't wrong here? No. Do I believe that people will say disparaging things to either get ahead or get paid? Absolutely.
I keep flashing back to a manager I had at "an electronic's industry giant" who was put though career hell for telling an oportunist female that "her dress looked nice".....witnessed it, stood up for him...still caught sh*t and he was demoted and transferred.
We need to get some facts here....ya know...innocent til proven ...
...and the timing???? smells like mud to me
That's not the issue and you know it.
Do you work at Shaw Pittman?
Eventually it will come out that the lawyer's already received a handsome pay-off.
How does this relate to Herman Cain in anyway?
Beanne is not capable of critical thought as is sadly true of many on the vine. Probably another paid troll.
Bubba...
you sound brain washed...whats next radical islam.
why should i pay more money when i cant get any support for me and my family.
What! A wannabe politician lying, very hard to believe.
And Obama can't deliver anything but a speech full of lies and a 7 TRILLION dollar debt!...I'll take the pizza you can keep the change!
Beanne you haven't been paying attention. Obama is not responsible for 7 trillion... look to Bush and Cheney and see how totally indebted they drove this country (and all of the American lives lost for a LIE or was it oil?)...
Bush had 8 years and was defending our country from the nightmare that was 9/11. Obama spent the same amount in 2.5 years - no camparison.
off track a bit, but on obama, not to mention that chagas is coming to the southern states, brought in by the "kissing bug" and illegals...Obama wont enforce the immigration laws on the books, and states trying to protect heir citizens are being attacked by the federal government.
I must disagree with you. Godfathers pizza is quite tastey. I doubt you've ever tried it.
beanne is talking out of his *^$, just an Obama hater who really can't give specifics so he just lets it roll out,,,sort of like Cain does in making it up as he goes along.
jenncoolfla #9.2,
And which President allowed the derivatives to cause all this economic damage world-wide?
Watch "Frontline's, The Warning". See what happened to Brooksley Born, when she said that derivatives, as they were being used (unregulated), could easily cause this financial mess that we are in.
I agree, do we really want this dirty old man to stand before our nation and talk about apples and oranges?
You mean Obama ran a fruit stand! Who knew!!! (Probably had something to do with Michele and her diet dictates.)
HAHAHAAHA! You must be new to the betting scene if you honestly BELIEVE that !
(Keep your money in your pocket at ALL times and don't make a bet with ANYone for ANY reason......You're just no good at it ! ha !
I AM ROFLMAO at Charlie's "UNCLE RUKUS" comparason. BEST EVER!
The 21st Century Global Economy and twists and turns of The Global Politico landscape the best you can come up with is CoCaine? WOW
When are you going to say ignorance is dumb?
Hey Charlie,
"Backwoods bubbas." Hmmm.....really?
"The best your 'gonna' get......" 3X? Couldn't get anyone to help with your rant?
BTW, it's "You're" (a contraction of you and are) Better stay out of the language woods. Dum-mass.
Actually, the people (voters) spoke fairly loud in 2010 and will speak louder in 2012. We don't need anyone very strong to defeat a failed President.
Really??? Google his advisor team, they are hand picked by the Koch brothers.
Hardly "true outsiders".
richard, you forgot to include his own involvement in politics over the past 15 years (or even more.) See his bio info above from Wikipedia.
really Richard? and where are obamas from? right Goldman sachs. Oh and GE and worst of all Chicago. So know your facts before you really look stupid.
Quit Now or embarrass yourself later.
Hey Mike -
Learn the facts.
Cain made NO agreement or settlement with these women who made claims that have not been substantiated. He is not a party to whatever contract they apparently signed - he cannot abrogate someone else's contract (like some liberals want to do).
Unless you were involved, you should shut up and listen. None of us know the facts.
You are the laughingstock here.
If Cain has nothing to hide then he should tell these so called restaurant association to release all records..but of course he won't.
you think he should release all these records ,just like Obama has released" none" of his
What records didn't President Obama show to the public that is currently not public?
Goodbye Mr.

You are a "ttard"... You and Trump...
At least the American Public knows Cain is either a proficient LIAR or in the early stages of Alzheimer!
The more Obama uses his bottomless pit of money to pull this kind of BS the more certain I am of his fate. Obviously Cain has thrown a spanner in the works.
No Hampster...we know that your boy Obummer is very scared of a" REAL"black American man!
Really?? My money is on Perry or Romney to dredge this up.
Obama would LOVE to run against this guy.
I'm going to love saying this:
All you people picking on Mr. Cain are being racists!!!!:=)
A REAL black American man? Oh jeez you Republicans are just too much anymore. . Is there anything you fools won't say?
The Koch/Rove team is sandbagging Cain. Much the way they did Palin/Bachmann. Remember them? Anyone?
Here's one thing we can safely say.
Cain had REAL jobs, ran REAL businesses, has REAL principles, has REAL business experience.
Obama voted "present" numerous times and "organized". My grand-daughter can organize and vote "present".
At least we know that the Dems are afraid....very afraid of Cain.
Agreed...Look at what Karl Rove did to McCain during the Bush election...smells familiar.
Cain did not make whatever agreements were made.
Obama requires a teleprompter to say good morning.
Racist much?
Just what we need, a conservative Clinton. Bye, bye, Herman.
OH PLEASE!WHILE you're at it lets vett the potus who has yet to be vetted! How about Larry SinClair and all the other homosexuals???? BIASED MEDIA and their damned lies will lose.
Biased media? I guess we should just tune into Faux News for the facts...
We should look at the BRIGHT side...........
This man will probably end up being the "POSTER CHILD " for the OCCUPIERS in this country.
Nice big CORPORATION MAN who lies, pays people off and sexually harasses females.
Everything they justifiably HATE , all in one man!
SCORE!
He should have been thrown out by the Senate for his sexual escapades or forced to resign just like Ensign.
,,thanks for the enlightenment - and what does it tell you about obama's LIES ?
Why what lies are you talking about?
Oh yea mean everytime he opens his mouth?
This clown is toast! Too bad, cause it will mean that Perry rears his silly head again as it is the ultraconservatives who make the most noise this early in the Republican party. Perry is a true slimeball politician who will say or do anything (including throw Cain under the bus).
Can Teapublicans can vote for a Morman?
"Hey, where are de white women at?"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=493pL_Vbtnc&feature=related
Joe, you can't even spell it. It's Mormon.
I stand corrected, Thanks Julie.
Spelling is the least of your problems.
Same problems Mr. Brooks had with stereotypical clowns be they white - or black.
Larry: Oooh I can't see I can't see.
Moe: WHAT'S THE MATTER?
Larry: I've got my eyes closed.
He violated the agreement first and cannot stand behind it now.
bigs,
she can come forward because Mr. Cain is calling her a liar.
Released by the state of hawaii, get over it birther.
wow a birther.... its like seeing a doo-doo bird! ya think they are extinct, and then BAM!.... you see one!
Yeah, you believe every lie the democrat communist socialists tell you:| How about all those ACORN, NPR, PLANNED PARENTHOOD LIES TSK TSK
Tin hat, check. Ignoring proof that has been shown time and time again, check.
We are all SO totally over the birther thing. Please move on.
OH canada all are covered with health care...but thats bad right? sometimes its better to be thought a fool than open your mouth and remove all doubt.
wow a birther.... its like seeing a doo-doo bird! ya think they are extinct, and then BAM!.... you see one!
^ LOL. They are determined, via their own folly, to achieve extinction.
Look at how they throw themselves after the 1st stranger (Caine) that fakes interest in their neanderthal right wing agenda.
They are like desperate old-maids searching for their Prince Charming, only to have their hearts broken again and again.
Move on Robert and the rest of the birthers, along with Rick Perry and Donald Trump. I guess Area 51 still exists too...
Nancy...here we go again. You birthers are something else. We're all yawning out here. Same old garbage over and over again. Nut cases.
You're proof that the nuts are coming out of the closet Nannypoo.
They will do everything possible to smear his campaign.
waves,
after all the media coverage on obamas birth certificate and the incredible amount of money trump spent to "find the truth" you STILL believe there is a conspiracy...??? as for Mr. Cain....this "smear campaign" has already been linked to the GOP....(pssst...look towards the perry camp)
my suggestion to you is....take your own advice....!!! "Try searching other sources, read some books that give more facts"
I see the Liberals are out in full force t0 collapse the conservative views........
Cain is a ocmplete loser, not Presidential. Can you imagine him negotiating with the rest of the world? No skill.
go figure, when faced with facts, republicans type quips.....high school education not helping ya much here huh waves!
That’s it! Clerk II! These people are either very, very ignorant or so hateful they have lost their minds.
guitfiddel,
i vote for so hateful they have lost there minds...with a dash of ignorance
You really don't understand how getting and maintaining a security clearance works, do you? Background checks are common and required at various times - including change of job function. Nearly everyone in my office has a clearance.
Read the NISPOM. You should already know this.
BTW - the President does not have to pass any checks to gain access to classified information. Period. Too bad.
dr.
i think what guitfiddle is referring to is: if president Obama was not a natural born citizen, the forces that be would have no problem finding it and exposing it
You mean he would be a worse negotiatior than the Antichrist in the White House now?
Cain will.
