Cain needs to drop out of the race for President of the United States. He has already proven that he hates the Elderly, Disabled and poor. He wants to end cold turkey Social Security and thus dump tens of millions of Citizens into the street.
Herman Cain do the right thing and drop out of the race. Do it now!!!!!
How is this racial? It's exactly what Republicans did to Bill Clinton when he was campaigning for President. It turned out to be true for Clinton, and it will turn out to be true for Cain.
Didn't take long for him to play the race card--this guy flips more than an acrobat. He loves the Koch bros who sold American radio parts via Shanghi that can set off IEDs from a distance of 40 miles--so it is reported. Nice...What a scum bag @ssho!e. He is being made wealthy by all this publicity and is going to claim race when he fails. Super cr@p on a two legs.
It never has been a racial issue ... Fox would like to make it so!!! Do main stream blacks like Cain ... NO ... but it is not because he's black!!!
For a speaker on Fox to say "our blacks are better than their blacks" is quite stupid but has little to do with Cain double talking about the sexual harassment settlement (agreement) against him!!!
Why is this all of sudden a racial issue. Were was Cain or West when during Obama's Presidential run? Did they think it was not about racial issues? Where was their protest?
This incident aside, Cain has no business even thinking about being President. And if he was even remotely qualified, he lost all my respect with a pick-up line like "You're almost the same height as my wife".
No racism here. ANY candidate with one sexual harassment settlement let alone two and possibly three should not expect anything less. In politics ones personal life has been in play ever since Thomas Jefferson and Sally Hemmings. Once he paid to make it go away all claims of "I didn't do it" are meaningless. That is because you paid, Herman. So please stop playing the race card just because you have a weak hand. You took your shot at Perry over "@!$%#head" and now his retaliation has come back to bite you.
Anybody, regardless of race or gender, who sexually harrasses someone (and since there was a settlement, there must be some truth to the statement) deserves to be held up for ridicule and to not be elected President.
Also curious as to how Fox news gets to say "our Blacks." Implies ownership to me and I don't think that's allowed anymore. Just saying.
Herman+Hat=pimp, Confirmed ? Pizza dough for silence ? Cain+Teatards=losers, 999+flat tax=Rich. Hurri-Cain Herman is roaring and tripping all over his lies. Cain didn't know that China has Nuc-weapons, this guy isn't the sharpest tool in the shed. This guy Herman - pizza's are flip flopping and getting cool. Cain's romance with the Koch cult & teatards will be his down fall.
I am so sick oif the BLACK issue. I voted for Obama - his race had nothing to do with it AND if Cain had any qualifications or I thought he could do the job I would vote for him too. I am independent but think the Tea Party has made the Republicans look like fools - I used to agree with some of their stances but not this go around they have lost it and the candidates are embarrassing and scary.
I know I will be called a "racist" for this but I am far from it. I think until the black population quits screaming "race" every time you turn the corner we will never get over discrimination. For everyone to be equal we have to be that equal and let's face things are not equal. I have had to deal with countless discrimination charges and MOST are frivolous and unfounded.
Are there consevative blacks - some. The conservative republican party has been tied to racistand homophobic veiws for many many years. They try to disguise it now but it simply is there and always has been.
"Right winger bigotry is not a tattoo - it's a birthmark"
Rick Arney - Former House Republican Leader
Herman Cain wants to be a white and it pains him that he is not. Beyond that he is a narcissist, arrogant, liar and inept candidate.
why does every black man in history always (okay, NEARLY always) play the race card? The issue with cain was never a racial issue, but i guess since he's black, it automatically is one. Personally, i think we need to just can and and all laws and ideas that were created because of racism. Y'all think you got it bad just because your skin is darker than someone else's. I happen to be black, btw. Personally, i believe the last minority is the single white male, there's minority benefits and laws for every other demographic group.
Racism....ah yes. If the candidate is a black person then it is about racism. I deeply distrust Obama and his policies, his skin color is completely irrelevent. If I voice my concerns and distrust of his actions and policies I am labeled a racist by most liberals. They play the race card whenever it suits them. Don't like the jobs bill? You're a racist. Don't like HCR? You're a racist.
The liberal left uses the race card to stifle any dissenting voice, watch Jackson or Sharpton twist ANYTHING into a race issue. Now there's Cain, a black conservative, and those of you who don't like him....why, you must be a racist. See how easy this is?
He hasn't played the race card. He just is the strongest Conservative running now. Your MSM will not even mention Ron Paul's name. And what did they do to Bachman. She said nothin stupider than President Obama so far.
Were was the coverage of Larry Sinclair commin out after Donald Young and his bud got a bullet in da head. Who put a bullet in da head of Lt Quarles Harris Jr? Where is the HOT campaign manager now after she got a one way ticket to the Bahamas post haste during the last campaign? LOL!
Wait, you don't like Cain? Don't like his policies? You have to be a racist.....SEEMS different when its a conservative candidate, doesn't it? I have now heard Cain referred to as an Uncle Tom, an Oreo and a few other choice words, these coming from the liberal Obama supporters. The new double standard, it's ok to call a conservative black man names, that's not racist, nope. Liberal black candidates are ok, conservative black candidates are Uncle Toms. Gotcha.
Mac: They don't even know who you're talking about. Any whiff of scandal about Obama during the last election was deeply buried by the complicit media. They refused to use 'Hussein' in their reporting, even though that is his name. They still keep his past underwraps or dance around the current scandals like Solyndra, and Fast and Furious. They still give a pass to his half a billion to a car company to make overpriced cars in Finland, in fact, nothing that Obama does of a negative bent is ever covered by the MSM.
mj899......WHY? it worked for obama, now all of a sudden it's not relevant? He did not tell the truth? How do you know? because some anonomous source says so? Before I decide I want to know the details, and not from some paid lawyer.
It's not about race. It's the fact that Cain is an absolute dumb ass. He contradicts himself on major issues every day. 9-9-9 became 9-0-9. He knows nothing about foreign policy and no desire to learn. He's in love with the Koch Bros, served as a lobbyist, and on the Federal Reserve Bank of KC. All the while, he paints himself as a Beltway outsider.
Herman Cain is being 'accused', but, by who? And, the victim has been given the 'OK' by the NRA to speak, so, why does the 'victim' accuse a man through the grapevine, and not put her face on the accusation? She got paid, and now is done? Most victims will chew cement to make sure the perpetrator is given justice. So where is the 'victim'?
Are there any other men on this comment board who would want to be treated this way?
Now, now...you all are starting to sound like me when I was going on about Obama. I was called a racist. BTW....seems convenient to use the race card to squelch oppostion, don't like Obama, you're a racist. Think Obama is weak, lacking in experience and bought and paid for by Wall Street? You're a racist.
Unlike Obama, Cain doesn't have a complicit and adoring media worshipping his every move. In the immortal words of Harry Reid when discussing Obama " he doesn't speak like a black person." Perhaps Cain is 'too' black????
I'm confused. What has his colour got to do with the accusations of sexual harassment. He has danced around the topic for several days and each time his story and excuse have changed. Whether the allegations are true or not, his race isn't the issue. Once again, someone drops the race card as an excuse for their actions. BJ Billy didn't drop the race card when there were allegations of sexual misconduct.
Cain seems like one of those people who you'd probably enjoy getting a beer with, but he is clearly in over his head in the Presidential campaign. Race probably would eventually be an issue for him, but using it as an excuse regarding a sex scandal is pathetic and a disservice to legitimate cases of racism.
One of the major issues I have with Mr. Cain is that he is not forth coming with information regarding the sexual harassment allegations. In fact his belligerent attitude regarding the questions posed to him by the press is troubling. It is as if he thinks is not accountable to the American people to explain what this is all about. He has been rather degrading to the press and the citizens he may represent one day if elected. Is this what we are to expect from someone holding the office of president? Do we want someone who will cover-up important details that may effect us all? He needs to explain himself and let people decide where the validity lies.
Another troubling aspect is that he has repeatedly talked about how he was able to make a successful career with hard work and that racism is not a barrier to non-white citizens, yet he calls the SH allegation nothing but a racist ploy to discredit them. There is either racism or their isn't, and he needs to decide which he believes.
My Girl, you are so right about that the collapsing LIB NAZIs don't even know who those people are/were. These statements NEVER get collapsed. Mention Teddie, or Bird or Big Bill and they collapse ya in a NY Minute. LOL!
The pitiful thing is that the development of Bush I, II, Clinton and President Obama by the Agency is so overwhelming, it's hard to imagine any other possible scenario. But these clowns keep cheering for their teams like it's a football game. The Trans National Global Elites OWN them ALL and are creating their New World Order as we type. LOL!
Let's see the difference in how Obama was treated, vs. Cain.
Obama:
1. Was accused of being anti-American, because he didn't wear a flag pin.
2. Was accused of being Muslim, because his father was(his dad wasn't anywhere near extremist in his Muslim views or practice, as he married a white non-Muslim girl).
3. Was accused of not being a citizen, even after Hawaii produced the legal BC info, and even though the top government agencies vet all candidates.
4.Was accused of being "friends with terrorists", because he had a working relationship with Bill Ayers(who commmited crimes before Obama was even old enough to know who Ayers was.
5. Is accused of being Socialist/Marxist/Communist/Leftist, when he is more to the center(and sometimes right of) than left wing.
6. His wife Michelle is the center of all kinds of attacks by the right wingers, on everything from where she shops, her weight, and her looks. I don't remember Bush's critics saying the same types of things about HIS first lady(who wasn't thin nor very pretty).
7. Has had his "policies" attacked and shot down by his opponents, when most haven't taken effect yet, nor is there strong evidence that they are failures(or would fail). His critics think they are crystal ball gazers.
8. Was accused of being racist, because his pastor(a war veteran) gave 1 or 2 sermons that were over the top and full of anger. they comprised of 5 or 10 minute sound bites taken from those couple of sermons. Obama's critics claimed all of Wright's sermons for the past 20 years were racist and full of hate for America, based on a few minutes of audio from 1 or 2 sermons.
It was plain to see that many jumped on the "hate Obama" bandwagon without enough valid reason to dislike him or his policies that much. Cantor and McConnell publicly admitted they were setting out to make Obama fail, in the first few days Obama entered the WH.
Many citizens did the exact SAME thing, by taking any rhetoric they heard as some kind of proof or justification for their already made up bigoted minds, and dislike for Obama.
Bigotry(and racism to a lesser degree) are the basis mof MANY of the arguments Obama's haters bring to the table. Most try to be subtle about it, some are blatant. A few do it on a subconscious level, and don't realize it(or will never admit it).
Now Cain:
1. Isn't very knowledgeable about our relationship with the rest of the world(he comes of as pretty ignorant, actually).
2. Worked as a lobbyist for BIG $$ interests, and has close ties to the Koch bros.
3. Has shown himself to be a bigot against those who don't follow his beliefs(like Muslims and women(on the abortion issue).
4. Can't answer questions directly about possible past transgressions, without dflecting (or outright lying).
5. Might have sexually harassed 2-3 women.
Those assaults on Obama's character for the reasons I listed above, don't have a leg to stand on, and most were the result of bigotry against him.
The reasons I give for Cain being criticized, are pretty valid reasons to question him.
mac 101..... no one has done anything to Bachman.....every time she opens her mouth stupid comes out and her support has reduced steadily in relation to ....well her opening her mouth. Cain and the rest will suffer the same fate.
Maybe you guys can get Condelessa Wright (not the correct spelling but you understand)to run, now there is a black woman with more brains and sense than the whole of the current GOP crop put together. The rest of them well let's just say that dog don't hunt.
Stinky Liberal.....that's cute, perhaps you should retire to the joke of the month site, that comment like the rest of your comments generally would fit in well there.
The history of politics tells us that it is a dirty game filled with deceptive practices and strategy backed by big money on both sides. For that reason, what you see and hear is seldom what you get. That's why the electorate is often forced to vote for the lessor of two evils instead of the best candidate.
The best candidate is often left eating dust from the stampede of the wealthy and elite to to provide massive support to the lessor candidate that supports their own special interests. Always remember that the media is controlled and owned by the same wealthy and elite of both parties.
Despite the best laid plans of the founding fathers to establish a system of government of the people and for the people, it is now corrupt beyond redemption in it's current form. However, many of them saw the possibility of such corruption. Thomas Jefferson said. " I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies." We now have both. Ben Franklin said. " They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety." The threat of terrorism resulted in the Bush Doctrine of preemptive war and the unconstitutional Patriot Act.
We have seen the results from denying these basic truths. We are now paying the ultimate price for our mistakes. It's not too late to use the U.S. Constitution and all of her amendments to right all of the terrible wrongs. Congress has no right to provide special privileges to themselves that do not apply to all of us. Congress has no right to individually accept fortunes from wealthy benefactors to promote special interests instead of representing the people that gave them their jobs.
Our founding fathers gave us the strength and means to put our nation back on the right track. We have the right to assemble in peaceful protest. We have the right to demand our Representatives serve us instead of themselves and their benefactors through the voting process. We were warned by certain founding fathers that further bloodshed by American patriots may be required to renew the American dream.
Do we continue to cower from those that threaten a once great nation with corruption or stand as one to defend this country (from many of our own) that threaten her very existence? The founding fathers left us a path to resistance that may not require further American bloodshed. We must accept that challenge and stand tall in our nation's defense lest we are forced to sacrifice our own to shed blood once again for a cause long entrusted all to us.
Cain is a smoke screen for the Republicans. They are trying to look less closed minded. They don't really want him to win the primary. (I wouldn't doubt if the sex scandal news was leaked by the Reps). They do not want a black man to win the nomination because they know a lot of white Reps would never vote for a black man.
Australian Yank and Lyn, Rice and Powell are both big CRF Globalist who are working to establish the New World Order with the DEMOs. So, color means nothin to me. Are they American First? That is ALL I care. And Bush I, II, Clinton and President Obama are Globalist and are workin to create the New World Order.
Keep believing President Bush was the worse and President Obama is the Saviour. President Bush was just John da Baptist for President Obama. Keep believing the good cop/bad cop game. LOL!
I am not saying that Obama is our knight in shining armor,
but the way the Repugs think,
as long as we can get them looking in a certain direction,
they won't look at us
we are a sorry lot of human beings, to allow this to happen in the first place..
allowing ourselves to be drawn into partisan groupings and separatism
expecting a bunch of drunken sailors to steer our ship of a nation
and then we would grow accustomed to complaining about food and board while we pretend we own our houses and futures
other countries and nations across the ocean do not look at the stupidity of our legislative branch or executive office as much as they look at us, the stupid and ignorant flock.
To reasonably-logical. Like him or not he is the only man to beat the Half Breed Kenyan. At least he had accomplished something in life even it may have been given a helping hand by affirmative action. I haven't heard of one thing worth while the Half Breed Kenyan has done, before Flim Flaming his way into the white house. His race got him in, Maybe race can get him out.
Having a family member who was intimately involved in a sexual harassment complaint against a superior, I have more than a passing familiarity with this process.
First, there is no actual complaint filed because there was nothing filed through the EEOC. At the very least in the last 10 days you would think that would have been found.
Second, thanks to the 90s just about anything was perceived as sexual harassment. Placing your hand on a shoulder to say good job, or even holding a door for a person. In the military in the 90s we were instructed on the seriousness of sexual harassment that I was personally afraid to breathe around another person.
And third, we still don't have any information about what happened. We know that one or two of the accusers (at that time--they didn't come forward with the current info) received a severance package, which is an end of employment contract with the employer (not Herman Cain). We also know that Herman Cain was not punished or fired by the National Restaurant Association (NRA). So, what do we know? One or two women, were terminated from employment with the NRA and received an end of employment benefit. A third never complained or filed but wants to jump on the bandwagon. There is no evidence of any improprieties (I mean, seriously, where is the dress with the stain on it).
I really despise the race issue as well. We have a president who was supposed to be post-racial, yet, he and his minions have thrown the race card out to quell every argument against his Marxist machine. They have called supporters of Herman Cain racist, hiding behind a black man to shield their racism. Now, a black conservative with a plan is railroaded with information (that didn't come from the accusers) but from reporters, who have not provided the whole story in their reports, and we blame...who? That's right, Herman Cain, because no one really knows what happened, the reporters have not given us the whole story (because they don't have it themselves), and now, the world is falsely labeling (without a trial I might add), slandering and maligning an otherwise decent and upstanding citizen, on the basis of a less than half-ass attempt at journalism. Why shouldn't this be about race? Ben Bradlee says Cain "should run for the roundhouse." No, it has nothing to do with race. Not at all.
Mr. Cain likes to goose women about 9 or 9 or 9 times a day. Hey, guys, Mr. Cain has a speech impediment impediment impediment he repeats every thing 3 times.
Hello hello hello Herman Herman Herman Cain Cain Cain. If your taxes are as annoying as your voice. I am going going going to to to not not not vote vote vote for for for you you you. Hey guys, is Cain the only Republican who plays these new word games. They they they are are are sharp sharp sharp.
Nine nine nine that makes 27. See cain I can do addition . I am not as stupid a bastard as you think voters are. Goodbye goodbye goodbyee!!!
what a piece of garbage this guy is....can you imagine a dumb POS like this representing the US, it's deplorable....the man has no character, values, brains, manners, or smarts....he's just a loud mouth, blowhard, skip the issues, doesn't undertstand the issues, doesn't respect women, and thinks he's right about everything because he just keeps his mouth flapping off like all the other tea-baggers do .... herman cain is a KOCH SUCKER and has no business being in public service, ever!! frickin' LOSER
Kevin, liberals like you and your never-ending hatred towards any politician that will probably cut your entitlements and force you "intellectual" (as libs like to be called) elitists to seek gainful employment will always be a threat to your establishment. You come off like a total jackass, which is not surprising from a uninformed, unemployed, led-around by the nose sheep. You Marxists better wake up and realize the crimes your equally stupid and destructive president has perpetrated against this country. He has successfully shredded any unity we ever knew, and now we live in a secularist society thanks to this bastard. People hate one another thanks in part to his never-ending crusade on the behalf of social justice. People like you want to steal other's money just because you are a selfish and lazy Marxist who has zero vision and motivation. You want your crackpipe and smoke it too. Everyone knows who the losers are. You and every other piece of @!$%# liberal in America.
S.Bill LaLlik, you sir are an idiot. You're so far off from reality it's sad. It's Fox news and people like Rush Limbaugh that are destructive and dangerous. They spread lies and misinformation like it's there job and people like you just soak it all in because you can't think for yourselves. They feed you words like "socialists", "communist", and "Marxists and give them different meanings.
I dare you to actually name anything Obama has done that is considered to be "socialist", "communist", or "Marxists.
1 deleted, Cyphers saying Cain is 'toast' 'looks like toast'...which is just odd. Doesn't register as a slur but sure led to some crappy discussion. Avoid smearing newsmakers for their race or the color of their skin - or putting those next to attacks or insults, thereby linking the two. Any more of this and you're suspended.
Kevin, liberals like you and your never-ending hatred towards any politician that will probably cut your entitlements and force you "intellectual" (as libs like to be called) elitists to seek gainful employment will always be a threat to your establishment.
It's really annoying when people will repeat any old garbage without making any effort to understand it. While it has been true that the most wealthy people tend to vote republican in presidential elections...the fact that the republican party are all coporate whores who have been handing the country over to wealthy business interests has a lot more to do with it than the myth of "welfare democrats". The National Science Foundation funded a comprehensive study on the incomes of party supporters, and what you are saying...just isn't true. The incomes overall, just aren't that different...what has historically been different is only how the very rich vote...and that's changing.
The study also documents changing income-related voting patterns in counties across the nation. Rich counties, a longtime bastion of Republican support, are generally shifting toward the Democrats. And while Republicans maintain an edge among rich counties in poor southern states, they're doing so with slimmer margins.
You come off like a total jackass, which is not surprising from a uninformed, unemployed, led-around by the nose sheep.
I'm a little surprised that didn't get nailed for all the COH violations.
You Marxists better wake up and realize the crimes your equally stupid and destructive president has perpetrated against this country.
Name one.
He has successfully shredded any unity we ever knew,
You must remember 8 years of "If you aren't with us, you're against us" politics from bush. Between him, and the murdoch 24 hour propaganda cycle with fox and rush et al, this country has been hatefully divided for a long time. Do you remember when Clinton was in office? I do. I remember the unending hatred coming from conservatives. We haven't had political "unity" for a very, very long time...if ever. And you want to blame it on Obama? You expect anyone to take you seriously?
and now we live in a secularist society thanks to this bastard.
We have always lived in a secular country. You didn't know that? Have you heard of the First Amendment? It guarantees that this country must remain secular. Of course, religious folk have tried to override the constitution on occasion, but things generally get set back to rights eventually.
People hate one another thanks in part to his never-ending crusade on the behalf of social justice.
Social justice is a bad thing? Can you hear yourself? We lived through 8 years of bush, two wars, the meltdown of the housing and financial markets leading to the worst recession in our history...you will survive 8 years of Obama while he tries to repair some of that damage.
People like you want to steal other's money just because you are a selfish and lazy Marxist who has zero vision and motivation. You want your crackpipe and smoke it too. Everyone knows who the losers are. You and every other piece of @!$%# liberal in America.
Do some research for yourself. You might be surprised to learn that fox has been lying to you. They don't care if you make a total ass of yourself repeating those lies....but you might. Or not.
Racial politics never left the scene. To oppose this supposedly "post racial" president is to open one's self up to charges of racism. What rubbish! Conservative blacks are fair game for accusations of behavior that fit old racial stereotypes. Equally rubbish with unnamed sources! Forgive me for saying so, but the polls make it clear that all this is doing is strengthening support for Cain. This whole business might blow up in the media's face. So much the better!
Conservatives see the hypocrisy of the liberals who've tried to discredit Cain using race as a weapon. Racist exist in both parties, the major difference being the main stream media doesn't, for the most part, report the racism of the left.
Ps. Cain has not paid multiple settlements to anyone and no assignment of guilt or liability has been assigned to Cain. Get the facts accurate. Your statements are based on rumors and that's it. Until all information is out in the open, the left will make all sorts of unfounded allegations.
Sorry but even Cain himself said it came from the Perry campaign. This is a republican on republican attack and many are desperate to push that it is a liberal conspiracy.
The tea bag (republican) party isn't fooling anyone anymore unless its a fellow Fox news viewer.
Andy: Yes, one can argue the fact. The true racists are now on the left. Deal with it. The left's policies have forced minorities, especially in the larger cities, to live in poverty for decades with lousy schools and no alternatives. The cruel thing is that the left keeps telling these unfortunate souls that doing the same thing will eventually yield different results. That is the most vile and insidious form of racism there is.
But as you are a "true believer" of the left.. I doubt you will ever acknowledge it.
Yea it came from the Perry campaign... but look at what the liberal media has turned it into, and their willingness to do so even after the lessons learned from the Dominik Strauss Kahn B.S. sexual assault allegations shows just how desperate they are to trash their competitors.
The left's policies have forced minorities, especially in the larger cities, to live in poverty for decades with lousy schools and no alternatives.
I am sorry, but I do not think so. The "conservatives" want to bring a different kind of segregation with their policies. They want "vouchers", so the children of their choosing can attend "special"schools. it already is happening in some of the "Red" States.
The people that really harmed Education are the Republicans, thinking that it would be the same to teach a class of 15 than to teach a class of 50. Sorry pal. The tax system in some of the schools in the South has only left a very disproportionate number of schools that are top notch, compared to others that do not even have plumbing. -In the same State- You need to look beyond your school district to realize that your allegations are wrong.
Oldschool and pjam: Yes, I hope Cain is the Republican candidate as you do. That will prove neither party can claim racism. It will also prove something else. If Cain and Obama run against one another and southern Repubicans don't vote for either candidate thereby causing Obama to win most if not all southern states, then we can project with a reasonable degree of accuracy that Nixon's "southern strategy" is still effective.
Old School Latin Teacher: Interesting interpretation of left wing racism. So, you're saying, if we eliminate government regulation of business, much like American society at the beginning of the second industrial revolution, then underclass African Americans will automatically become "free," and that they, in turn, will somehow choose to attend better schools. That's quite a stretch. Tell me again what will happen once whatever is holdng them back now will allow them to actually attend better schools.
When Bill Clinton was accused of similar transgressions, all the libs could say was "boys will be boys". But when a conservative black man like Clarence Thomas or Herman Cain is even accused, it's an earth-shattering event. Who are the racists now?
What "liberal media"? I haven't seen much evidence of the "liberal media" lately. All the media is owned by big corporations. The "Liberal Media" is one of those concepts left over from the 50's and 60's (like "communism" and "socialism") that the right continues to hurl around like it still means anything, not realizing that the world has moved on and they are left trying to claim relevance.
The ones who introduce race into the equation - in this case, Herman Cain and his supporters.
This had nothing to do with race until he suggested it. It was to do with a man, in a position of authority, sexually harassing female employees. Period.
GravityStorm...They are not nearly the same. With Clinton it was consensual sex with another adult who never denied she desired the President. With these settlements Cain was accused of UNWANTED advances that were repeatedly rebuffed. The women in these cases were Victims. Clinton's behavior was degenerate for someone we expect to be president. Cain's behavior borders on criminal.
I honestly feel and think that most Liberals, like myself could careless that Cain had an affair, or wanted to have sex with a woman or a man outside his marriage. I didn't care that Bush was having sex with Dr. Rice (if he was). Why I wrote that, is because Dr. Rice put it in my mind when she said on National Television "My HUSBAND, I mean the President"....... Maybe it was wishful thinking on her part, but I don't care if they were having sex. NOT all men but most men married or single will try to get something strange if they think they have a chance, the same goes for women who are married, go to the web sites for married couples looking for an affair, alot of women now a days. I just want my PRESIDENT to do what is right for the COUNTRY and the AMERICAN PEOPLE, NOT BIG CORPORATIONS.
The uber conservatives have no intention of permitting Cain or any minority to represent the GOP. This is a ploy to seduce the black and minority vote away from Obama.
The GOP is navigating this harassment scandal. When they are convinced they have attracted enough votes away from Obama, they will crank up the scandal enough to force Cain to withdraw and publicly offer his support for the intended white male GOP candidate of the uber conservatives' choice.
Cain may think he is the center of the GOP attention but he is nobody. Merely a pawn.
Look up "racism" You will find everyone is a racists. Racism means treating another race different.
Not worst, not better just different. Now to let only one race to constantly use the card is dumb ass. Once you are educated on the word, then you have the ability to tell the dumb ass using it to get a life.
Therefore, to use the card ever, shows what you are.
note: you are treating one race better than another.
The GOP is navigating this harassment scandal. When they are convinced they have attracted enough votes away from Obama, they will crank up the scandal enough to force Cain to withdraw
I think that maybe the Republican women will suddenly realize that the "Presidential Hopefuls" are working against them and they will voice their opinion. They -The "Presidential Hopefuls"- condone Sexual Harassment, they do not want women to have birth control or access to abortion, even in the case of incest or rape, etc.
I certainly doubt that ALL the Republican women in the US are so stupid as to believe the crap that these men are serving in a silver plate.
Actually, a woman named Paula Jones sued Bill Clinton for sexual harassment for actions taken when he was still governor or Arkansas. Clinton attempted to delay the lawsuit until he was out of office, but the Supreme Court let it go forward saying that it would not pose a distraction to the White House.
During the deposition in the lawsuit, Clinton was asked about affairs in the White House, which Clinton denied. As he was under oath, that was perjury. Whether the lawyers for Jones should have asked that question is a different story, as they were asking him about present consensual behavior, as opposed to the harassment that was the grounds of the lawsuit.
This leads to the Kenn Starr independent prosecutor, who was allowed to delve into Clinton's personal life (when it had started with the financial deal known as Whitewater). Starr was given permission by Janet Reno to shift the focus of the investigation to perjury, and Clinton once again lies, both about his affair and about having lied in the past.
Of course, this leads to the impeachment articles. And you all know the rest.
After week of flip-flops, leaked details and media attention for accusations of sexual misconduct, GOP candidate’s approval dips.
“The most striking thing is that Herman Cain is actually seeing a fairly substantial decline in favorability ratings toward him particularly among Republicans,”
Once again ... so much for his "rallying support"!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Why are you PUBS talking about the harassment issue this is about Cains consistent comments that are going to be his demise. He never thought he would even have a glimmer of hope of winning and now that he thinks he has one he is showing his ass at every turn. He makes me sick.
With his SimCity 999 tax plan, Pokeman being a great poet, electrocuting people crossing our borders (very christian), not knowing that China has nukes, blaming the poor and unemployed for their predicament, telling blacks that social security is a scheme for old white ladies since blacks die at an earlier age, stating there is no racism in the US (except now towards him), not knowing or stating that he doesn't need to know abour foreign policy, eery/creepy ads, and being a 'brother from a different mother' with the Koch brothers (from a Chris Rock movie), how could he have ever rallied support in the first place?
You must be a racist redneck, probably live in a trailer and are married to your sister since you're voicing negative sentiments and casting apsersions against a black candidate. Then you call him names! Tsk. Now what if Cain were Obama? Would you dislike him then, he's a black man too. Don't like Cain? You must be a racist....wow, this is ever so much fun...quid pro quo.
i'm reading through all this, and i'm wondering if anybody besides me knows that an individual doesn't actually vote for the president. You don't, and i don't. We don't even vote for our electorates, they are designated by each state in whatever manner that state sees fit (you don't even vote for your electorates, although they are usually someone has been voted into their office or position). This is the reason that the popular vote is irrelevant anymore. Electorates are 'encouraged' to vote along the same lines as public voters, but are not required to do so. there have been several notable examples of presidents who LOST the popular vote, but won the electoral vote, and therefore became president... just sayin.
Right, Buddy, but it has never been "new" - Kennedy comes to mind. What amazes me in this blog is the "I'm not a racist, you are racists " who are all over this like flies. Cain's not dancing your kind of dance, so he's not your type of black man - wow - now that's good old fashioned bigotry. I guess that's typical of all the Democrats who were KKK members. Plus, here are the Clinton apologists forgetting all about Paula Jones and Jennifer Flowers - they weren't "looking for it." Clinton was a scumbag sexist - where was N.O.W.???
"what liberal media?" is right! i can remember, not so long ago, when there were vigorous debates as to the consequences of corporation's acquisition of media outlets. news has been slanted and jaded toward corporate interests every since it was allowed to happen.
msnbc is one of the news sources that the right wing labels as liberal. every since their purchase by 'comcast' they have not leaned foward but have leaned right. hardcore right wing fox news tallking head, bill oreilly, spoke of comcast as being a fair organization. then he and others on fox spoke of how comcast "can now start cleaning out the left wing zealots".
first went keith olbermann. next will probably be ed shultz. liberalism is definitely in dissolve mode on msnbc.
irene46; don't forget CNN - half of them are now at Fox, Glenn Beck got his first National exposure at CNN.
When GW Bush was elected there was a mass purchase of almost all small Newspapers by right wing corporations and promptly dropped their Forum sections on-line. Just now some are bringing back Blogs - blogs are a joke, no freedom to seed your own threads.
One problem with the"high tech lynching" reference, Anita Hill was never awarded compensation to keep her quie---errrr, settle with her at the time of the crime---errr, false allegation.
So this "high tech lynching"terminology is just another attempt at what the republicons do best...deflect, marginalize, and play the victim.
In order to admit it, they would need a brain to figure it out first! It doesn't have anything to do with lefty/righty, it concerns human respect and dignity, neither one of which could be attributed to Hermie..
@GravityStorm, May I remind you that Bill Clinton was not charged with Sexual HARASSMENT! All he was doing was having sex, wait a minute, that depends on your meaning of sex though...OBAMA/BIDEN 2012
Cain's statements are poor attempts to deflect from the fact that had 12 years to consider his response to documented claims and he has done such a poor job is equally disturbing. It does not give give me confidence that he responds appropriately to crisis situations or thinks on his feet well.
Anita Hill never ever filed a harassment complaint, did she/ Onle complained at the nomination hearings. How many years later did she complain? Where is she working now/ Brandeis? Isn't that the school that gave the publisher of penthouse a honorary doctorate?
i CAN'T CONNECT THE DOTS, HERE. cAN SOMEONE DRAW THE CONCLUSIONS ABOUT SELECTING AN EMPLOYER WHO...!
Easy for Cain to spew this crap when those he accuses have can't face him and rebut his accusations..........
the only reason he would not let these women out of their non disclosure agreements is because they would all relate the truth of his conduct......and show the world what a liar he truly is.
Hiding behind a non disclosure agreement and slandering these women is a cowardly thing to do.........not presidential material now and never will be.
Male chauvinist..........no place for such a man in a position of such power in this day and age.....
"Herman Cain's rise as a presidential contender was supposed to prove that race didn't matter in the Republican Party. Cain is fast making it the only thing that does."
So when people don't like Obama and point out the awful things he has done they are racists..... but when it is a black conservative being challenged he is the one who is "all about race".
Liberals will say anything to avoid acknowledging that they are themselves in the exact position as everyone who they have always labeled racists.
P.S.
Cains rise wasn't "supposed to prove" anything, nobody even knew who he was for a long time... until people started hearing what he had to say and liked it. He was not a "media hyped" mass-marked, false messiah like Obama was.
Blacks that denigrate other blacks have always been a prize possession of the right wing. You can always find people motivated by a combination of greed, lack of scruples and opportunism who are willing to fill this niche need. They have too much competition in the Dem party but they can quickly shoot up to the top where there is a scarcity.
pjam...you poor deluded thing,red-coats are so blinded by hate that you can't see the forest for the trees. I helped elect President Obama. No one is more unhappy with this man than me. But you see, when I express my disapproval, it's never at him personally, it's about his ACTIONS, OR LACK THEREOF. On the other hand, the hard-core haters, teabaggers, and red-coats attack Obama very personally. Joe Wilson didn't yell out during the SOTU about Obama's actions. He yelled about his character. That is the difference, and it is huge. I can't believe that as inept as he has been, you morons on the right can't come up with anyone better than Squirmin' Herman or Rock Purrey or Michelle Bachmann and Wailin Palin (the Ditz Sisters). If your party's leadership had a collective IQ north of 70, they would find or draft a moderate and eliminate or squelch the reactionary nazis and fascists in your party. The White House is open for the taking and your party is too stupid to take it. And ,yes, as long as you idiots attack Obama rather than Obama's actions, it is racism- or at least will always look like it.
Joe Wilson didn't yell out during the SOTU about Obama's actions. He yelled about his character.
While I agree with you to a certain extent, let me point out a couple of things.
First, Wilson didn't yell out during the SOTU address; he yelled during Obama's address to sell his health care reform plan.
Second, regardless of what he said, that just shows a plain lack of respect for the man inhabiting the office. Would he dared have done that if Bill Clinton said the same thing? Or Al Gore? Or John Kerry? You can better believe that if he had yelled out at a Hilary SOTU you would never hear the end of it from the National Organization for Women.
Finally, I really agree that this is an election in which Republicans should win the WH. The economy has not recovered as quickly as people wanted, and Obama has massively disappointed his base. However, Republican candidates can't stop the "who's more intolerant and rigid" game enough to realize that the winner of that game will be ripe for the picking in the general election.
Fact is... regardless of all the arguments against Obama; there isn't and won't be a better candidate; particularly republican. Fact is... the Internet has educated the majority of American people, amalgamated our lives and documented larger-than-life imprints of herald liars.
pgam - you know how the liberals work, kinda like a cheating spouse. Always accusing others of something they themselves are doing.
Yes, sort of the Bush-orchestrated attacks on McCain's and then Kerry's war record, in successive elections. This, engineered by a man whose family connections gave him a comfy spot in the Texas Air National Guard.
Yes, those dastardly liberals ...except that Bush is a conservative. How confusing.
It is not inconceivable that Cain will be the Republican nominee; the pool of candidates includes such wonders as Michele Bachman, Rick Perry and Newt Gingrich. It is highly doubtful that Obama would waste his time engineering attacks against a man who didn't even know the status of China's nuclear weapons program. Hermanator Cain is unelectable. The day he is chosen as the Republican nominee, I guarantee champagne corks will be popping the white house.
Andy, There is nothing to say that he actually did anything wrong. 3 anonymous accusers, one who received a severance package (in other words, FIRED). However, I do agree with the first part of your blog.
You have no business running for president when you act like a pig towards those you think you have power over.
Yet you have no problem with Clinton abusing his power to receive oral sex in the oval office, Kennedy abusing his power to bang Marilyn Monroe regularly, hell you were probably up in arms when that Democratic Senator stepped down after getting caught taking pictures of his junk and Twittering it to people. Lets not forget all the Democrat's that came forward during Clinton's Senate hearing of impeachment, and expressed how they too, used there position to regularly stray from their marriage to have sex with others. You all are a bunch of hypocritical two faced punks, that think your @!$%# don't stink. I got news for you, there is a reason we progressed from the free love tree hugger hippies of the late 60's early 70's. Apparently there are still quite a few of you losers around, but not enough to re-elect your socialist wanna be dictator.
What really sucks is that there is NO middle ground any more. Your either extreme left socialist, or extreme right bible thumping crusader. WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO WE THE PEOPLE FOR THE PEOPLE, AND KEEPING CHURCH AND STATE SEPARATE????
My pov: ever get a years pay for severance? It's called paid off. But why are yall pissed at liberals? It's your political wings candidates that released the whirlwind.
The things that Cain is being accused of sure did not seem to affect Ted Kennedy and Bill Clinton. There is more than ample proof that both blatantly preyed on women.
Yet you have no problem with Clinton abusing his power to receive oral sex in the oval office, Kennedy abusing his power to bang Marilyn Monroe regularly,
Kevin, this level of discernment may beyond you, but sexual harassment involves making unwanted sexual advances towards somebody. Neither the consensual activity between Monica Lewinsky and President Clinton, nor Kennedy's numerous extramarital affairs qualify. The activity may have been reprehensible, but constitute either a criminal offense or actionable reason for a civil suit.
As to the rest of your comments, they are too disjointed and vague to be worth responding to in detail.
dman- Bravo spoken like a true idiot. So your saying that anonymous allegations that so far have not been substantiated are more sever then the use of ones status to use women for their own sexual pleasure. Also the way you completely disregarded my other comments of the Democrat caught just a few month's ago posting pictures of his crotch on Twitter, who at first lied about it then finally stepped down when he told the truth. The Democrat's that spoke on Clinton's behalf about using their positions to have extra-marital affairs was aired on CNN during Clinton's Senate hearing. You try very hard to ignore facts and blow up unsubstantiated claims when it suits you. Fortunately, though there are more like you then I wish, you are still a minority.
dman- Bravo spoken like a true idiot. So your saying that anonymous allegations that so far have not been substantiated are more sever then the use of ones status to use women for their own sexual pleasure.
Well, Kevin, at least you spelled idiot correctly. The word severe, actually has 3 'E's in it, and MSNBC does not charge you for using them.
In case you have not kept up with the current state of this story, the National Restaurant Association (NRA) has already confirmed one of the cases. So much for the story being unsubstantiated. As to Clinton and Monica; you saw the two of them face to face shortly before news of the scandal broke, and she certainly did not appear either used or abused. And as to Marylin Monroe, she was a major movie star, and she slept with whomever she pleased ...and, by the way, there was never any official statement by either person, or by anyone else with direct knowledge, that JFK slept with her; it is only an unsubstantiated rumor, which you of course abhor.
Now, as to the other rubbish you post so loudly. When you speak of "The Democrat's that spoke on Clinton behalf...", to precisely what Democrats are you referring, and where is the accompanying evidence that they were "using their positions to have extra-marital affairs". And why do you write, "Democrat's", with an apostrophe, ess? Are you implying ownership of something to these anonymous Democrats?
Regarding your concerns about the Democrat posting pictures of his genitals on the Internet, why are you so concerned by Mr. Weiner's posting pictures of his weiner? He ended up resigning from Congress over the incident? He paid the price of his own stupidity.
Were you equally concerned by Idaho Republican Larry Craig's seeking sex from anonymous men in an airport washroom, or by Florida Republican Mark Foley sending teenage congressional pages suggestive emails? Or how did you feel about then South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford flying off to South America for a tryst with his "soul-mate" mistress, while his official schedule listed him as hiking the Appalachian Trail?
How is it you skip over these equally offensive incidents involving Republicans?
You can reach back 50 years and worry about the rumored, consensual sex having occurred between a long dead president and a long dead movie star. You can agonize over a recent incident of a congressman getting caught posting lurid pictures of himself on line, and resigning as a result. But if a Republican does something, you don't notice.
Brilliant Kevin. Utterly brilliant.
Fortunately, though there are more like you then I wish, you are still a minority.
Actually idiots do not constitute a majority in this country. They just mislead themselves by making so much meaningless noise. Thank you for providing an apt example of such loudly voiced, but crippled thinking.
Well dman no I DO NOT condone the abuse of power by either Republican or Democrat. Nor do I condone those that defend one while condemning the other. If Cain is guilty, by all means he should be held accountable. Do a little more research on JFK, it is documented, and whether it was consensual is beside the point. That he and others (both Democrat and Republican) use their power to influence others to have sex is. As for those that stood before the Senate on behalf of Clinton. Look it up yourself, I don't remember their names from over a decade ago, just remember watching them on CNN making their statements, and threatening to quit if Clinton was impeached. I could careless that your ego leads you to believe you are intellectually superior. What you think really makes no difference in my life what so ever. I simply pointed out and commented on the statement made by ANDYBLUE, and in case you missed it, I DON"T SIDE WITH EITHER PARTY. Party affiliation has done more damage to this country the any foreign power could ever hope to, but you go on in your belief that I am a Republican conservative, as I said before. What you think makes NO difference in my life.
Fortunately, though there are more like you then I wish, you are still a minority.
Actually idiots do not constitute a majority in this country. They just mislead themselves by making so much meaningless noise. Thank you for providing an apt example of such loudly voiced, but crippled thinking.
You do realize you just agreed with me in calling yourself an idiot don't you??
OH and by the way dman, since you seem to believe that your grasp of the English language is so superior. Why don't take a good hard look at the mistakes you made in your first response to me. I could pretend like I'm perfect by correcting all those mistakes as you have on mine. I prefer to not be so petty though. Have a nice night.
One last thing for you to wrap your tiny little brain around, then I'm done with this discussion. I don't even like Cain as a candidate, nor do I like any of the other candidates. Further more, I don't like Obama either. No matter which side wins this next election, the future of America is looking pretty dim. I don't blame any one person or any one party for the state in which the country is in. America has slowly been falling since before I was even born, and it is due to both parties unwilling to work together, and holding their own interests more important then those of the country. As long as their are enough people brain washed into believing that either party is working for them, and continue to act superior towards anyone that disagrees; America will continue to fall till there is nothing left. You can put me down and point out my grammatical flaws all you want. In the end, none of it will matter anyway. Either your part of the solution or your part of the problem. Right now, there are a majority that are part of the problem, and unless people wake up there will not be anything left of America. "When people fear their government, there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty." Thomas Jefferson
Here's the diference. The Republicans are the ones who pretend to run on "family values." They condemn gay people, tell us gay marriage wil ruin the "sanctity" of marriage, tell women what to do with their own bodies I don't care what people, even politicians do in their own personal lives (i.e. their marriages, personal relationships0, it is the copmlete HYPOCRISY of the these conservative Republicans - like Larry Craig, opponent of gay rights, John Ensign -who had his parents pay off his lover's spouse, Vitter and the others who lived at the Chritian Brotherhood houe in DC while frequenting madams and having afffairs, while telling the rest of us who and how to love, that makes them unfit to lead anythin or anyone,
Do a little more research on JFK, it is documented, and whether it was consensual is beside the point.
No, it is not beside the point. The consensual sexual activity of consenting adults is their own personal business. Men or women visiting unwanted sexual advances upon others, particularly those they supervise are abusing their power, and creating a hostile environment for those they importune.
Men or women in power who engage in extramarital affairs with willing participants are only guilty of violating their marriage vows. This is their wives' (or husband's) business and not that of the public. Whether the women (or men) who respond to them are attracted to them because of their position of power is immaterial. They are consenting adults and nobody is coercing them.
These are real simple concepts, they involve the difference between force and free will, and the rights and responsibilities of being an adult. But if you cannot grasp them, there is little more to be done.
Actually idiots do not constitute a majority in this country. They just mislead themselves by making so much meaningless noise. Thank you for providing an apt example of such loudly voiced, but crippled thinking.
You do realize you just agreed with me in calling yourself an idiot don't you??
Actually, in refuting your assertion that your views constitute a majority, ("Fortunately, though there are more like you then I wish, you are still a minority.") I was implying that you are an idiot. But why would I expect you realize this on your own? My mistake.
One last thing for you to wrap your tiny little brain around, then I'm done with this discussion.
...he says in his third, farewell post. As the old song goes, "How can I miss you when you won't go away?"
Trust me, I could not care less regarding whom you do or do not support.
FEMen- I agree with you 100%. I would go into detail with you as to why, but I don't feel like dealing with dman any more. He fails to acknowledge that the comment that started this...
You have no business running for president when you act like a pig towards those you think you have power over.
does not speak of harassment. He would rather attack my grammar, and show what a pompous ass he is.
FEmen - I do half-agree with you. The loud protestations of family values, or better still, the anti-homosexuality diatribes of some republicans lends a certain extra pungency to the scandal which follows the airing of their embarrassing secrets.
Wrong is wrong, regardless of whether you proclaim your high morals or not. But while some violations deserve public scrutiny, other should remain private. While I certainly don't think better of JFK, Clinton, or John Edwards for cheating on their wives, such private failings have little influence on my willingness to vote for them.
Clinton may not have been a particularly good husband, but he was a reasonably good and effective President. Kennedy was a charismatic leader who held our nation steady during the Cuban Missile Crisis, one of the most risky times in our nation's history. John Edwards, however, was nothing more than an empty suit; I would never have voted for him to hold any meaningful office. In contrast to JFK, Jimmy Carter was a good and decent man, who probably never cheated on his wife; but he was not an effective chief executive.
As to Cain, more than the already substantiated case and the developing cases involving sexual harassment, his inability do deal with the scandal in an honest and adult manor says a great deal about the inner nature of the man. And sexual harassment is whole different order of offense than extramarital sex, at least in my book. So aside from his politics and policies, which I also find objectionable, I would say that he just does not measure up to the office of the Presidency, not even close.
Larry Craig, Mark Foley, congressman Weiner, Mark Sanford and others? They are the material of which nightclub comedians dream.
Good grief. Of course race plays a part. You have racism everywhere, on both sides and everywhere in between. I have watched it played out since President Obama was elected towards him, and now it is towards Cain. Just like we have religious bigots out there. Our country nothing but a bunch of little groups belittling anyone that isn't just like them. We are no longer the United States of America, we are just groups trying to force people to be like whatever group we are in.
Race is part of who a person is..Just like gender, success, sexual preferences, old, young, educated, wealth, weight, height, etc. Since time began in the electorial system, reference is made to either and or to all of these adjective conditions either in a pro or con atmosphere. Obama used his "half and half" to be elected and it worked. Others use one position or another to condemn, still others use a position to recommend.
I would say.."get over it" and let Mr. Cain defend his positions as he can. Being black is not a lot more than being black. The "Occupiers" for example would condemn him for being successful.... such an awful trait these days. "Let it ride" is what I would offer.
The occupiers don't condemn success. They care about what the successful DO with their success. I think success is great, but if what you do with your success is try to change the system to prevent others from achieving success, or use it to cause harm to the less fortunate, that is where I have a problem.
Race has not been part of the discussion, the race of the victims is not known (who cares), and the only race issue is conveniently concocted by President Cain. What a garbage substitute for analysis of the ghastly 999 plan. You don't have to be black, or white, to figure out the guy's a faker. The only race issue is the GOP insistence on Kenya (implausible deniability for emphasizing Obama's a "colored feller".) The total corruption of the GOP is now complete. Until the next repulsive turn, laughed at by the base and Al Queda, with the US voters sending the GOP to LMNOP. Romney is now irrelevant against the Koch billions.
Black's sure love to play that Race Card. When they throw down that Race Card it end's all arguement's. I guess Cain is no different. When White people become the Minority in the not too distant future, who are Black's going to call Racist??
Yes, English Class and let me remind you morons that this is not supposed to be english class...the message was clear, what more do you want? Nitpicking, that's what most of you Right Wing morons are doing on these posts anyway....OBAMA/BIDEN 2012
Nitpicking and projecting their own faults on others is all they have left. What do you expect from people so conflicted that they preach a survival of the fittest as economic policy and then turn around and in the same breath deny evolution?
earline...Maybe, you should go back to school and learn some manners. You missed the part where they say that pointing out others' flaws is in poor taste unless asked for your opinion. Apostrophe that b!tch.
Hey Herman, if women are accusing you of sexual harrassment don't blame the media, blame yourself. By the way, have you shown your birth certificate yet?
And proved, without a doubt, he is really a Christian? I mean, true, harrassing women is a Christian trait, but I want more proof. Also, I need more proof than a fake birth certificate. More, more more.
Actually, he's pro choice, how funny is that? While he is against abortion in any circumstance he also said that he does not believe the government or anybody else has the right to force the woman to have the baby. That is as pro choice as it gets.
Actually, if you've heard him being interviewed on this subject (legalized abortion), I defy you to discern any clear policy. On one hand he declares that abortion is wrong, ("I am pro-life from conception, period,”), and then upon further questioning, that it should be the woman's choice.
The impression I get is that he has no control of the words emitted by his mouth. Out the words come and then he forgets them.
I heard that interview. Even the Fox guy had his mouth open and was shaking his head. Cain said - the government has no right to interfere - it is up to the woman and her famil - but, abortion should be illegal. It was amazing.
I wouldn't say that he is stupid. He amassed a fortune in the restaurant business, which is something I've never done, or have much chance of doing. But he is limited, far too limited to occupy the oval office.
You simply need a wider breadth of experience than managing a franchise restaurant business, and you need to be able to think on your feet better than he seems to be.
Can you imagine if this was 1962 and the U.S. was confronted with the U.S.S.R. placing nuclear weapons in Cuba. Now imagine this guy managing the whole mess in place of Kennedy, or practically anybody who has held the office over the last 50 years.
Pretty scary.
Luckily, the high water mark of the Cain candidacy appears behind us. He is what some long thought him to be, the GOP flavor of the month.
Well Mr. Cain, you have to prove that you are not a liar as the current Liar in Chief is. Otherwise we are just replacing one with the other. Color is not what got you in hot water, most likely one of your appendixes though.
Maybe it was his table of contents. I think you meant "appendages." I just love it when you Obama-haters can't use English properly! It says more about you than you'll ever know.
He has already proven that he is a liar. Too late on that score. Now, on the advice of his staff, he is trying to remain silent...good advice. Every time he opens his mouth, he either insults someone or lies. Now the race card? Give it a rest Cain. You have made enough money on your greed and excess. Go away.
earline....What is it with your judgmental attitude toward those who are not as competent in English syntax, grammar, and punctuation as yourself? Get over yourself. It is the message that is important and the message that you are sending is that of a stuffy old retired English teacher that has nothing better to do than grade posts on the vine.
When all else fails mask the real issues by dragging out the race card. Pathetic. If these are the best qualified candidates the Republican Party can bring to the people they don't deserve our votes. BTW, I feel the same about the the Democrat offering.
Exactly, he's a Newt wanna be. Hermie is out to sell his book (I wonder who wrote it for him), and give his law breaking Campaign Manager Mark Block and AFP some exposure...
It was hilarious when Cain asked a reporter if he had ever been charged with sexual harassment! As if it happens to the innocent all the time. Give me a freaking break.
No decent person would have to go through such controversy. Cain is guilty. Power hungry types like him are often mashers. They believe women will fall all over them. Some do, which even further empowers them to repeat the offensive behavior.
Fortunately, we have regulations to push back against people like Cain!
It actually does happen to well-to-do, prominent people frequently. Maybe not all the time, but frequently. Lots of decent people have to go through such controversies, and at the end, alot of those people are proven innocent and it is revealed that the woman or child was trying to get attention and financial gain.
I'm pretty curious how you are so sure that he is guilty...
You would like regulations, typical Owebama supporter.
Of course baseless accusations happen to public figures. How does one expect 'US', 'People', 'TMZ', 'The Enquirer', etc to stay in business? How do you expect politicians to fight each other? "If there are no skeletons in his closet, create some" isn't a cliche for no reason.
Then again, whether Cain is guilty or not won't determine whether he's presidential material or not. How poorly he's handling this does.
thank you judge mark vangelder, "cain is guilty". thank you. anonomous got her day in court...............oh wait, she wanted her day, then she didn't want her day. too painful, oh, please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Whatever happened to, "presumed innocent until proven guilty?" Nothing like a little sexual harassment thrown in the ring, suddenly, to cast suspicion and doubt.
Don't get me wrong, I'm very undecided as to who may be the best representative of the people. I wish someone would challenge Obama on the dem side of things. It would make for a much more interesting year.
I am a conservative and I feel (do not know) Cain is guilty - because four white women have claimed intimidation by Cain - therefore "t'was beauty killed the beast" - again. King Kong can't take his eyes of the blond hair and white skin beauties. Black women don't complain or whine about black leaders or black star athletes trying to bang them.
Heartlight, that's ok. It's like Cain keeps saying "I don't have any facts to back this up, but" - which I think is absolutely hilarious. I don't like Obama and wish that Hilary Clinton would run as his VP to give him some credibility and much needed advice and guidance, but Obama has absolutely nothing to worry about with Republican candidates such as this one running high in the polls. The Republicans must be kicking themselves every day. Here's a Democratic president as weak and ineffectual as can be, and they have NOBODY capable of beating him. Merry Christmas!
EXACTLY pjam o9; Racism in America was suppose to have been put behind us when Obama was elected, wrong. When Republicans opposed Obama's liberal agenda, of course it had nothing to do with HIS agenda according to Democrats, it was merely because Republicans were racists,WRONG. Conservatives were suppose to roll over and play dead, and not oppose liberal tax and spend policies and entitlements, because conservatives have always supported liberal agenda, until Obama came along, NOT. And unlike Fiesty I don't know how to cut and paste comments, if I did I could post dozens of liberal comments I have read on MSN, about Mr.Cain being an "UNCLE TOM", since he became a Republican candidate. You see only Democrats can play the race card. And only liberal blacks can play the "victim of their race" card. Whoopie, Jessie, Al, Wanda Sykes use their race to appear to be victims, because if they didn't have the race card they would not be relevant. It is now the 21st century, and the "victim card" is worn out, frayed at the edges, wrinkled, not mention dead and stinking. Nobody cares if your gay, black, Muslim, whatever, its your constant bitching about it and your need to play the victim is what keeps it going, the rest of us in the real world have moved on. People have more important things to worry about, like keeping a job, a home, paying bills, ect, to worry about what you look like and what you do behind closed doors. It is only when you have to make a spectacle out of yourself and get all up in our faces about it, that we are forced to deal with it, and its boring and annoying, get over it.
Talk about playing the race card it was played quite often by the Republican Conservatives when President Obama was running for the White House! Now Cain is trying to HIDE his Sexual Harassment behind he RACE CARD!!!! Hypocrites ten fold over again!!!!
hampster....I think you're confused, the race card was played repeatedly, not by Republicans, but by both Clinton's during the presidential primary campaign. Hillary proudly declared that she was the better candidate because the bamster couldn't garner the white vote. Isn't that right....???
Sexual harassment...? Please tell us specifically, what Mr. Cain did???
Mr. Cain, face the facts. You're sunk and you know it. Where do you get the idea that these charges aren't serious? Surely, you're not serious. Isn't it nice to know that you are an embrassment to your family?
Race has nothing to do with being a being a misogynist who thinks of women as chattel. If anything that is about the enslavement of women. Sounds to me more like Mr Cain wants to 'lynch' anyone who tells the truth about his character, and that, is not a race issue, it is a heart one...
There are a lot of guys with big egos out there that truly believe they are bestowing a favor on women by making suggestive remarks. It is not possible to convince them that most women don't see it that way. I don't believe Mr. Cain thinks he did anything wrong.
Just like Palin playing the woman card, after all the conservatives ran roughshod over Hillary. It only matters if it is happening to them. Otherwise have at it, and if you complain, you are being a crybaby who can't handle the white house. So typical.
well goblueinga hillary had NOW, they (NOW) never once had a problem with the attacks on palin. crybaby about the white house, good luck, in fact we all need it.
I could care less about Cain, but who are these women that always manage to show up with all this garbage. Might as well dress like Moslem Women. Cover everything up. Don't wear any makeup and talk like Popeye the Sailor. I could care less about anyone who got paid off 5, 10, 15 years ago. You should cash your check and STFU.
So what is he suppose to say....? A brown Clinton?....a half caucasian half African American Clinton?....a mixed race Clinton? You politically correct people are just to much.
We're now up to 3 sexual harassment victims who settled out of court.......looks like Cain harassed a third woman and the NRA settled for an undisclosed sum.
Why are all these women from one organization, the NRA? Cain has had many positions of authority....why don't we here about other cases of harassment at other businesses? Could it be that these 3 women are the equivalent of sexual harassment ambulance chasers? I wonder if they knew each other and whether, given the proclivity for companies to settle these matters quickly, saw a chance to make a quick and easy buck. I realize that this is all speculation and I could be completely off base. But since we have no facts as to what Mr. Cain actually did...my speculation is as good as any else who believes he did something wrong.
ceo-722851 - But since we have no facts as to what Mr. Cain actually did...my speculation is as good as any else who believes he did something wrong.
The only "fact" we have is that the NRA and Cain (as president of the NRA) paid over $80K to push under the carpet several different accusations of sexual harassment. We also know that Cain lied about it, repeatedly.
What ever happened to "Innocent until proven Guilty"? It's not "Misrepresented, castigated, speculated and harassed guilty until proven innocent". Most of the posts here are just mean spirited and un-American. That's probably because this discussion is full of stinking progressives and commies. You stain our republic and your foul presence offends me and all true Americans. Don't forget that Clinton actually did the things that he was accused of. Herman Cain is being ridiculed with out any EVIDENCE. It's great to here all the leftys whine when the race baiting is on the other foot.
Hasn't anyone figured it out by now? The facts never matter when it comes to republicans. They love to use the race card while donning their white hoods and robes. Cain was their "See...We're not racists" arguement as one of them(Perry) leaked the story to help himself in the polls but after his non-lucid rant he ruined his own chances. The republican party is happy to let an african-american appear to have a fair chance as long as he carries their water like the rest of them. They have put up with him because they just want someone to beat Romney. The thought of a non christian winning the nomination makes the go crazy. If Cain and Perry slip so far down in the polls during the primaries you can bet their sorrogates will go after his religion openly. You're not getting the republican nomination unless you're a white middle-aged christian.
The real issue here is that cain is a LIAR. He can't be trusted anymore. The charges against him are irrelevant. He tried to lie amd mislead the public initially.Harassment charges whether he is guilty or not-guilty does not matter. He initially tried to lie his way away from them. Now you can't trust him.
I handle these cases for a very large employeer. The allegations are just that -- some have validity, some don't. Sometimes cases are settled for expediency. None of us knows yet what really happened. What we do know is how Cain handled this. He lied, dissembled and took the last refuge of true scoundrels -- blaming this on everyone else -- Rick Perry, racism, high tech lynchings. That, and the fact that he apparently doesn't know where he stands on any issue, other than rich is good, make him completey unqualified to run for anything.
I, for one, as a conservative, an growing tired of this junk in the box historical garbage, on both sides in politics.
Cain, and I was a supporter, believe full disclosure should be front and paramount for any and all politicians, now and aspiring, from both sides. These people, supposedly leaders, should know better. They should get everything out of the closet when they make the decision to run, for whatever they desire.
Don't blame the opposite party, don't blame those candidates in the primary opposite you. Blame yourself Herman! Get out of the race and go have breakfast with Anthony Weiner and the rest of those that "can't remember", that "deny", that say one thing and have to come back later and perform the backstep cha cha.
Its up to voters to vote in the best and vote out the scab bags
Gary: You and your ilk are what is left of the rank and file of the Republican Party. Why is it so obvious? Michael has said no more than Herman Cain should take responsibility for what he has done, if he has done anything, and nothing more. If he has done nothing, then the facts will come out. If he has, in fact, done what the women say he has done, then those facts will come out as well. There are other politicians who have tried to hide their actions from the public, and they have not been successful. If Cain is guilty as he was charged, then Michael is saying no more than "Don't try to hide it like the others did, or you will face the same fate. Step up, take responsibility for your actions, and suffer the consequences whatever they may be (good or bad)." That's all he is saying. So, what is your problem with that?
I dislike this guy more every time he speaks.
See he's more like Obama than you thought.
Cain doesn't even have to speak and I don't like him. He in my opinion is a Racist.
And thats my Opinion.
He certainly seems to have a lot of opinions with "no facts to back this up".
I feel the same way about our current president...
HEY LIBBIES , are you scared yet ?????? 2012 is coming and liberals are going !!!!!
Cain you buried your self when you did not tell the truth. You are so en mature that you though yo could just lie your way out.
Race has nothing to do with this is all about how you handle things. This just proves you are not qualified for the job of running this country.
en mature? sorry, just had to point that out.
Cain- I won't take one word out of your mouth seriously from here on out!
Geez, where are the victim(s)?
Are they black, white, mixed, male, female, what?
I forgot to add, that during all those accusations against and critiques of Obama, not once did he play the "race card".
mac 101..... no one has done anything to Bachman.....every time she opens her mouth stupid comes out and her support has reduced steadily in relation to ....well her opening her mouth.
Condoleeza Rice and Colin Powell...now those are two conservatives that the GOP should recruit to run. Cain is a money-hungry fool.

LOL!
Same ol story for the last hundred years. Poor ol brother can't get a break. Quick somebody point and yell racists.
It's called disinformation...misdirection
Not at all.
I proudly support Herman Cain.
The issue is that Cain is a liar.
Like they ever left!
Did you realize how hilarious that sounds when you first posted it?
Who's paying you, Rick Perry or Mitt Romney?
1 deleted, Cyphers saying Cain is 'toast' 'looks like toast'...which is just odd. Doesn't register as a slur but sure led to some crappy discussion. Avoid smearing newsmakers for their race or the color of their skin - or putting those next to attacks or insults, thereby linking the two. Any more of this and you're suspended.
I'm a little surprised that didn't get nailed for all the COH violations.
Name one.
We have always lived in a secular country. You didn't know that? Have you heard of the First Amendment? It guarantees that this country must remain secular. Of course, religious folk have tried to override the constitution on occasion, but things generally get set back to rights eventually.
Social justice is a bad thing? Can you hear yourself? We lived through 8 years of bush, two wars, the meltdown of the housing and financial markets leading to the worst recession in our history...you will survive 8 years of Obama while he tries to repair some of that damage.
Do some research for yourself. You might be surprised to learn that fox has been lying to you. They don't care if you make a total ass of yourself repeating those lies....but you might. Or not.
@ notkidding #2.54...
loud applause with standing ovation!
Sorry but a third woman or should I say VICTIM has come forward.
You can't argue the fact after paying multiple settlements for sexual abuse towards others.
Cain's disgraceful record speaks for itself.
You can't argue what fact? He never said money wasn't paid.
Sorry but even Cain himself said it came from the Perry campaign. This is a republican on republican attack and many are desperate to push that it is a liberal conspiracy.
The tea bag (republican) party isn't fooling anyone anymore unless its a fellow Fox news viewer.
They are VERY easily fooled.
Tunnelvision limits original thinking...
Yea it came from the Perry campaign... but look at what the liberal media has turned it into, and their willingness to do so even after the lessons learned from the Dominik Strauss Kahn B.S. sexual assault allegations shows just how desperate they are to trash their competitors.
I think the Republicans outed thier own this time. Liberals have no reason to smear these guys, they are doing a good job all in thier own.
The people that really harmed Education are the Republicans, thinking that it
would be the same to teach a class of 15 than to teach a class of 50. Sorry
pal.
Hearlight is on, nobody home.
Clinton, unlike both Cain and Thomas, was never accused of sexual harassment. Clinton's sexual dalliance was with a consenting adult. Huge difference.
Cain is a power bully and he should never be offered power of the presidency to magnify that.
Hey sailmav you dope, what about the other four women that CLINTON forced himself on ?????
Wait, Now i hear there is a dress involved here.
Now his popularity will go through the roof.
Listen You dummies.
Mr. Cain,
If you are right then there is no need to get angry
And if you are wrong then you don't have any right to get angry
Be honest and remember the difference.
OldSchoolLatinTeacher ... sorry to burst your bubble ... but Cain has dropped 9 points in the latest poll ... so much for his rallying support!!!!
@ Michael:
However, I do not remember President Clinton ever opposing abortion or making comments about it the way the Republicans do.
I am just appalled at the hypocrisy of the Republicans. All of these politicians have dirty laundry. They come acoross really sanctimonious
Electorates are 'encouraged' to vote along the same lines as public voters, but are not required to do so. there have been several notable examples of presidents who LOST the popular vote, but won the electoral vote, and therefore became president... just sayin.
WAKE UP AMERICA!
Plus, here are the Clinton apologists forgetting all about Paula Jones and Jennifer Flowers - they weren't "looking for it." Clinton was a scumbag sexist - where was N.O.W.???
mygirl1, you know the rules. You are suspended for a week for violating rule # 1 of the Code of Honor.
@ heartlight # 3.11...
Daps. Part of an example or sarcasm, you've still got to be clear with your words, mygirl1. Do better.
irene46; don't forget CNN - half of them are now at Fox, Glenn Beck got his first National exposure at CNN.
"deflect, marginalize, and play the victim."
And yet everyone who is disgusted with Obama is a racist aren't they?
Look in the mirror.
Deflecting, marginalizing and playing the victim, things the liberal lefties know all too well.
So you are admitting that that is what they are doing?
Race is STILL the American neurosis, just as religion is the neurosis of the Middle East.
Just as religion is in this country also..
I totally agree with you. This country was founded on on it and if this country doesn't stop with it then this country will die from it!!!
OMG Will not IT! Someone PLEASE save Will from IT!
Dog: LMAO!!
I'll volunteer to save Will from "it" if someone saves you from OMG, LOL and LMAO.
Thanks for playing aka TFP
Easy for Cain to spew this crap when those he accuses have can't face him and rebut his accusations..........
the only reason he would not let these women out of their non disclosure agreements is because they would all relate the truth of his conduct......and show the world what a liar he truly is.
Hiding behind a non disclosure agreement and slandering these women is a cowardly thing to do.........not presidential material now and never will be.
Male chauvinist..........no place for such a man in a position of such power in this day and age.....
and his pizza wasn't that good either.
They can't go back and erase the "White Slavery signs or those with the N-word displayed proudly on banners by the tea party of racism and hatred.
I don't see that garbage pushed towards republican candidates.
I wonder why?
WTF are you talking about?
Cain is a republican candidate.
"Its your own Damn fault" Cain..... Isn't that your catch phrase for everyone else?
Stop whining racism now that you have claimed racism doesn't exist within the republican party so loudly.
People who prey on women are disgusting human filth.
You have no business running for president when you act like a pig towards those you think you have power over.
Why should he? He never claimed it isn't part of the Democrat party or the liberal agenda against conservatives, which it obviously is.
You have no business being president when you act like a pig towards those you have power over either... yet we are stuck with it for another year.
pgam - you know how the liberals work, kinda like a cheating spouse. Always accusing others of something they themselves are doing.
Who is doing the accusing??? LOL!!!
You.
@pjam, Correction, You are stuck with Obama for another 5 years! OBAMA/BIDEN 2012
And in my house too...I will be celebrating Obama's guaranteed win in 2012.
Actually idiots do not constitute a majority in this country. They just mislead themselves by making so much meaningless noise. Thank you for providing an apt example of such loudly voiced, but crippled thinking.
...toodles.
Actually idiots do not constitute a majority in this country. They just mislead themselves by making so much meaningless noise. Thank you for providing an apt example of such loudly voiced, but crippled thinking.
You do realize you just agreed with me in calling yourself an idiot don't you??
Toodles to you as well
OH and by the way dman, since you seem to believe that your grasp of the English language is so superior.
The Republicans are the ones who pretend to run on "family values." They condemn gay people, tell us gay marriage wil ruin the "sanctity" of marriage, tell women what to do with their own bodies I don't care what people, even politicians do in their own personal lives (i.e. their marriages, personal relationships0, it is the copmlete HYPOCRISY of the these conservative Republicans - like Larry Craig, opponent of gay rights, John Ensign -who had his parents pay off his lover's spouse, Vitter and the others who lived at the Chritian Brotherhood houe in DC while frequenting madams and having afffairs, while telling the rest of us who and how to love, that makes them unfit to lead anythin or anyone,
No, it is not beside the point.
Actually, in refuting your assertion that your views constitute a majority, ("Fortunately, though there are more like you then I wish, you are still a minority.") I was implying that you are an idiot. But why would I expect you realize this on your own? My mistake.
...he says in his third, farewell post.
Clif Judy
The occupiers don't condemn success. They care about what the successful DO with their success. I think success is great, but if what you do with your success is try to change the system to prevent others from achieving success, or use it to cause harm to the less fortunate, that is where I have a problem.
Oh HL your problems are MUCH deeper then someone else and their success.
You don't know how to cope with being in the same position as everyone you instantly labeled racists when defending Obama and his actions do you?
Black's sure love to play that Race Card. When they throw down that Race Card it end's all arguement's. I guess Cain is no different. When White people become the Minority in the not too distant future, who are Black's going to call Racist??
I don't know about any of that - but there should be a special place in Hell for people who don't know what apostrophes are for.
That place in Hell is called English class.

He's just not very bright and hasn't thought through anything he says. He's spouting what he thinks the base wants to hear.
That's why he is the leading GOP candidate. They always go for this type.
But if you're going to pluralize 'appendix' please do so correctly. It's 'appendices.'
Kind of like what Obama's supporters have been doing from the day Obama was elected, huh?
Oh Tammy, your "I know you are, but what am I" Style of commenting is just Hilarious! Keep it it up Girl!
Is this guy for real? I'm beginning to think that Cain is really crazy.
I don't think he is a serious candidate. Think he is out to boost book sales and do the lecture tour like Palin.
Exactly, he's a Newt wanna be. Hermie is out to sell his book (I wonder who wrote it for him), and give his law breaking Campaign Manager Mark Block and AFP some exposure...
Toast! and I do not mean cheers.
Did someone say "toast?"
BS
Great arguement...
There has been no reporting on whether the women are white or not. That whole comment came from your imagination.
@beecent$able, Thanks for the most honest comment on this post today. You may be conservative, I am not, but at least you speak the TRUTH! ThankYOU...
Very nicely put. But as for them getting over it, it will never happen. They have a good thing going with the Race card.
"Mr. Cain, face the facts..." Ron...what are the facts? What exactly did Mr. Cain do? Talk about an embarrassment......
The whole political field is a good ol' boys patriarchy club and that's part of the problem.
If a presidential candidate is paying off the women he sexually harassed so they can STFU, don't you think the public should know about that?
The payoff count is now up to 3:
http://www.kltv.com/story/15964000/third-cain-accuser-accepted-financial-settlement
I wonder how many more there are that Cain hasn't told us about, since he assumed that they would just STFU?
You're just mad because yo have a Tan Clinton on your hands now.
A TAN CLINTON! Now if that isn't a Racist Remark, then I have never seen one. Typical of the republicans....very sad!
So what is he suppose to say....? A brown Clinton?....a half caucasian half African American Clinton?....a mixed race Clinton? You politically correct people are just to much.
too much. two to too... know your 2's.
We're now up to 3 sexual harassment victims who settled out of court.......looks like Cain harassed a third woman and the NRA settled for an undisclosed sum.
http://www.kltv.com/story/15964000/third-cain-accuser-accepted-financial-settlement
Cain actually did...my speculation is as good as any else who believes he did something wrong.
ceo,
Let's wait for the other shoes to drop, which they will in the coming days.
The only "fact" we have is that the NRA and Cain (as president of the NRA) paid over $80K to push under the carpet several different accusations of sexual harassment. We also know that Cain lied about it, repeatedly.
Leave the brothu alone.
It's a question of fact, not guilt or innocence. Here are three facts:
If you're a conservative I'm Obama.
It doesn't appear on his Faux talking points score card.
And rule #1: Never diss another Republican.
